( distributes tea biscuits and nursing pillows allround....)

How do yo stay awake at night feeding??? Am struGgling to stay awake and have a sore thumb from playing solitaire on the iphone...alternates with reading muMsnet, daily mail and facebook....

What else is easy reading websites, games apps that dont require any brainpower that I cana entertain myself with? Any tips how to stay awake? Am seriously tired here!

Have cosleept with my dc's from approx 8-10 weeks, which makes night feeds easier, but I have weeks to go until then and wont dare to bedshare yet as older dc's still turn up in qour bed at night....

Hideous night again with babyloo, awake and feeding on and off from six until midnight with the last three hours just screaming everytime I put him down.

Really need a good three hours now but I think he's going to be awake again in a minute-aghhhhhhh!!Grin

MiniPopsMum2012 · 19/08/2012 05:49

Same here susieloo, not sure what going on.. Minipop been constantly crying since about 7pm last night, interspersed with feeds and sleep. Neither of which have been big. :(

Fingers crossed the baby-gods are kind to us soon.

On the plus side, I have been drooling watching Gary Barlow on x factor repeat Grin

Babylon1 · 19/08/2012 07:57

Hey you guys, we've just done an 11-8 stretch GrinGrin yippee!!!!

Sending out magic sparkly sleep dust to everyone else Grin

Susieloo · 19/08/2012 09:59

Yay babylon!!

You have given me hope!! I've just swaddled baby susieloo with some successSmile he was fighting a nap and it's the flailing arms I think that are making him panic, will keep on doing it for the rest of today at nap time although I do worry about over heating.

I can't wait for autumn minipop when it's cooler and the baby is sleeping through I missed x factor because I was trying to keep the baby upstairs to start to introduce night and day but I'm abandoning that tonight if it goes the same way as last night, started to feel like I was in baby prison!!

Have a good day everyoneGrin

MummyPigandDaddyPig · 19/08/2012 22:10

Oh so do I!! He's feeding right now, but it's a big one, and he's been snacking all evening since about 4pm so fingers crossed Grin

I'm not holding my breath though, he was 16 weeks on Friday and I'm fully aware of the likelihood of a sleep regression, and I could well be back to feeding 2-3 hourly Hmm

But for now, I shall bid you all a good night and I'm leaving a big bag of sparkly sleep dust for you all to share, right here > (;:)
(:;:;;)
Please help yourselves Grin

BabylonPI · 19/08/2012 22:23

Oh Sad my bag picture didn't work.

Oh well, you get the idea Wink

Saritabean · 20/08/2012 02:03

Hello mummies and babies!

Thank you for the sleepy dust babylonPI! :o

Not sure how well it's working though Confused!!

Blocked milk ducts keep swapping from one boob t'other :( v painful, and getting more and more difficult to get rid of them despite trying everything...

Uh oh.. Periwinkle seems to have actually woken up a bit with this feed.... hope she'll go back down easily! Hmm

Hope minipop and babyloo are doing better now too...

Susieloo · 20/08/2012 02:09

Baby susieloo has pretty much slept all day and apart from the odd hour awake here and there to feed and have a play he stayed asleep until about half twelve and even then I woke him up to feed, he's managed about another hour awake and is now nodding off in his chair, rather than make the most of this like most normal people I have spent the time worrying that something must be wrong!!!!! I'm now wide awake!!

Susieloo · 20/08/2012 02:14

Hope periwinkle goes straight back to sleep for you saritaSmile I can't believe I've been willing the baby to wake up for a bit longer!!

BabylonPI · 20/08/2012 08:09

Yay 10.30-7.30 GrinGrinGrin

Susieloo · 20/08/2012 22:06

Brilliant babylon I am v jealous!!

I'm just about to wake the baby for a feed, hopefully this means he will go straight back to sleep!

So tired todaySmile

BabylonPI · 20/08/2012 22:40

Oh SusieLoo, it honestly does get better Smile

I'm going to direct my SIL here in the next few days/weeks. She gave birth at 6pm today and made my brother a daddy Grin

A little playmate for my DS, they have now got a boy too Grin

Well my ds is currently flat out on his playmat on the living room floor. It's so hot again and upstairs our house is unbearable Sad

I'm tempted to stay here on the nice cool leather sofa, but I know I won't sleep so well Confused

Grin

Night night all, sending sleepy thoughts to all the little DCs.

MiniPopsMum2012 · 20/08/2012 23:10

Minipop has been awake (and crying!) non - stop almost, since 6pm. We have just managed to get him to sleep after a mammoth sort of cluster feed every two hours since 3pm. Fingers crossed he'll sleep longer tonight.

Will catch up on posts during the night. Think I have missed a few xxx

OnlineMummum · 20/08/2012 23:32

Oh I hear you! Yes definitely use an ipad if you can. I've been uploading some games too (logos quiz, flow free and bubble explode) and it has helped me staying awake! Wink

MiniPopsMum2012 · 20/08/2012 23:38

Well there goes my theory, awake after 90 mins... Grrrrr! Over tired baby maybe? Need extra sparkly sleep dust over here please. If my DP decides to go to bed now, I think I might hit him. :o

OhDearNigel · 21/08/2012 00:20

Take nursing baby to bed with you = sleep for all Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 21/08/2012 01:52

I think we might have a similar problem here, minipopsmum - DS hardly slept today except a few very short naps, and has been a nightmare since I put him to bed at 10:30.

Feeding now so I hope he will actually go to sleep after this, as I feel like I'm about to keel over!

Saritabean · 21/08/2012 02:31

Hi all!

We're up too! Although thankfully been 4 hrs since last feed :)

I took Periwinkle to visit my old work place (left there when 4 months pregnant) and it was lovely to see them all, only for some reason she was a grizzlebag all the time and it was a real shame! Confused

I was meant to be going out this evening too, to a new easy-going pizza place for tea with some mates, but after a busy/grizzly day out, I was busy telling my neighbour over the yard wall that I'd decided not to go out, when she offered to babysit for a couple if hours so I could go :o

It was so lovely to have a few hours away, and I feel bad that I didn't feel guilty leaving her...! As she still won't take a bottle I can't stay away too long but now she has a proper bedtime routine, I pretty much know she'll go through til 10-10.30 ish which is really handy. Although, that said, it's seems like one thing is sussed and you find a little routine, and then things all change again.... Babies eh!!! :o

I hope babies loo, minipop and tea are having better nights... I promise you that it was only a week or 2 ago even that periwinkle was still being a monkey at night, when I look back I realise how much she's progressing, but it happens so slowly, you just can't see it from day to day!

Back off now... Sods law I'll be up again in 1-2 hrs!!! That'll teach me!!! Wink

MiniPopsMum2012 · 21/08/2012 04:05

We are having a nightmare here again, Minipop waking every 1-2 hours screaming, can't feed him as he screams the house down mid fee, will only take 50mls and that's it. Won't let me near him with a thermometer to take temp either and can't burp him properly because of the screaming fits in which probably isn't helping the situation.

This. Is. Awful. :(

Poor little mite, really feel for him. Got him to settle on my shoulder, but he's even crying in his 'sleep'.

MiniPopsMum2012 · 21/08/2012 04:06

Glad you got to go out sarita. What a lovely neighbour, can I send Minipop round? :o

BabylonPI · 21/08/2012 06:59

Oh minipop Sad

I hope you managed some sleep eventually.

Sarita, your evening out sounds lovely - glad you enjoyed it! And well done you for not feeling guilty - you are allowed to be you for a while and not just mummy Wink

Another good night here, so that's three nights running - dare I begin to think we've turned a corner and the night feeds will disappear??

Probably not seeing as DS has his 3rd injections today - I'm sure we'll be awake tonight Sad

I hate taking him for injections Sad

Susieloo · 21/08/2012 17:20

I'm so tired!!!! Sleeplessness (not sure thats a word) is really kicking in, babyloo is 6 weeks today Smile

You do give me hope for a decent nights sleep Babylon, I'm dreading the injections, I was a pathetic wreck when they did his heel prick, DP had to hold him and he let out the most awful noise, two weeks until he has his first one. Do they suffer side effects from the injections?

Babyloo was asleep by 8 and then I woke him for a dream feed and he went for another three hours and then up twice until four when he decided it was morning.

He's now having a nap so I don't think he will be in bed for 8 tonight!

Your night out sounds lovely Sarita I'm going to see George Michael in October and staying in a hotel overnight and I really can't wait - not that bothered about seeing George just the idea of a hotel room with a big bed and bath sounds like heaven at the moment - this is all dependent on the baby taking a bottle sometime soon though.

How have your days been Tea and Minipop*? Really hope they have been better for you.

Health Visitor came yesterday and babyloo's weight is still shooting up, he's now on the 98th centile so he will be off the charts soon - he's 13 pounds 11 now so nearing a stone - at six weeks!!! Not sure my back and boobs can cope if he carries on gaining weight like this, really hoping it will start to level out, I am really trying to not just feed him until I've exhausted all the other options for him crying but he's a very hungry baby, obviously takes after his mother Smile

BabylonPI · 21/08/2012 23:03

Hi guys Smile

Hope you're all soundly asleep right now Wink

Baby Babylon had his third lot of injections today and was fine with them. He's had a couple of big feeds this evening and is now sleeping soundly (hopefully til the morning but we will see Confused )

leaving more sleepy dust for you all Grin

BabylonPI · 21/08/2012 23:06

Sorry SusieLoo I missed your question there!

I'm afraid there's no stock answer re injections and side effects Sad my 3 have all been fine, no side effects etc, however my sisters DCs have all suffered after theirs - so I think every baby is different.

DS didn't even notice his today as his thighs are so chunky Blush just like his mummy Blush
