Just thought people might be interested if you don't already know.

Channel 4 on Weds 1 Feb. A programme called Extraordinary Breastfeeding is on. The write up in the magazine I'm looking at says:

"You'll be texting your friends about this as soon as it starts. It's about the phenomenon of mothers who breastfeed their kiddies well beyond the age considered 'normal' in this country. Seeing a feisty mum breastfeed her two-year-old twin isn't that disturbing, but the sequence of another lady suckling her 7 year old dughter isn't one we will forget in a hurry. "

I'm looking forward to seeing the tone it takes.

beansprout · 23/01/2006 14:30

'Cos of a lot of youngsters who work in the media really know a lot about parenting. Breastfeeding in particular.

Nbg · 23/01/2006 14:33

Think I'll give that one a body swerve - bleurgh! 7?? Odd.

Blu · 23/01/2006 14:46

Nice one C4: why not just call it 'Freak Breastfeeding Island' and have the sensationalist credentails right out there in the open?

Or did I miss the sensitive, considered documentary where they covered the gaps betwen hospitals b/f support policies and the implementation? Or the one where they covered the reasons for the difference in take-up of b/f between the UK and scandinavia? AT LEAST in that one they could have shown some Swedics Norks!

Nbg · 23/01/2006 14:47

Thanks LC.

MD, There is a guide button on the controller so you can see whats on every channel a week in advance. You can select programmes to put in your planner and even select it for Autoviewing so it will change the channel for you a minute before the programme starts.
You can also have a series link too so if you watched say Desperate Housewives it would put it on for you everyweek.

moondog · 23/01/2006 14:47

Quite Blu.
Tv is just a vile freak show these days.I feel tainted when I watch it.
lol at 'Swedics norks' though. What are they???

Blu, I missed that one too! Didn't it also ask why a lot of people in this country would consider it odd to b/feed a 2 year old?
