breast is best?

I personally think it is...but I am aware that many female mothers disagree and prefer to feed their babies bottle milk...I wouldn't do it...however if for some reason you physically are unable to produce enough breast milk for you baby then and only then would I consider or use bottle milk.
I just don't think people can better breast milk...whether you believe we were created or evolved the fact is breast milk has been proven to be best for babies because it has in it exactly all that a babe needs to help it grow strong and develop.
if we evolved as we are taught in schools, how could chance manage to make female produce exactly what babies need to help them grow?
it just does not make sense...common sense tells me that the one who created us put breasts on the female chest for the purpose of feeding your babies.
it just annoys me so much when I see an advert on TV trying to persuade mothers with babies to feed them formula milk...it would be better to promote breast feeding rather than trying to make mothers use bottle milk.
anyway what are your Thoughts?
do you think breast milk is best?

Thanks.

But your phrasing is weird, odd and patronising.

You talk about the "one who created us" and I said you hinted at Creationism, which deserves more than an "Ugh", frankly!

If you can't debate, move away from the thread!

GoldenHaze · 17/07/2011 15:45

I don't understand the "cheque is in the post", but why of course you're male? Most people on Mumsnet aren't.

magpienchips · 17/07/2011 15:50

golden
believe it or not I just wanted to know what mothers think is best for their babies?
male I AM but I think bf is better...it has to...a bit of powder mixed up in a bottle surely can't match or better all the nutrients that comes from the breast.
and the reason I don't agree with formula milk ads is because I think it can tend to make mothers turn to that rather than to breast feeding...never underestimate the persuasive power of advertising.
I have strong opinions but nothing wrong with that.

oh lovely, a religious nut type

[rolls eyes]

BoysAreLikeDogs · 17/07/2011 15:52

why are you asking for the female viewpoint only?

GoldenHaze · 17/07/2011 15:54

OP, were/are your children BF?

As others have said, the vast majority of people think breast is best. Your OP is stating the bleedin' obvious in a very weird way. No wonder people are taking the mick!

magpienchips · 17/07/2011 15:57

golden
it was a figure of speech...I was joking with you...and as for you suggestion about not being able to stand the heat in the kitchen...I think that would be better directed at some of the other posters on this thread...and ok it's obvious you not a member of the bible brigade but should that merit a ugh?
I normally only ugh if i accidentally tread in brown stuff...but hey I understand
religion like race is a touchy subject most people shy away from.
I decided to be brave and mention...of course knowing it would provoke a hostile response...in short we often think we are street wise but actually give away bits about ourselves...whats in our hearts etc...

Dont yiu just hate knkw it all types? You ever tried to feed a baby with cerebral palsy OP?
Im betting not. Try and inform yourself before pontificating.

GoldenHaze · 17/07/2011 16:06

"Religion like race is a touchy subject". Oh dear.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 17/07/2011 16:06

quite, Riv

magpienchips · 17/07/2011 16:07

so let me get this right...I'm a religious nut because I suggested that breasts are meant to be not an accident as is taught by evolutionists?
I think you are being a tad judgmental don't you think?

OP posts:
magpienchips · 17/07/2011 16:08

oh so I was wrong golden haze?
shall we start a brand new topic on race and see how it turns out?

OP posts:
magpienchips · 17/07/2011 16:10

ok riv
don't over do it now...I already admitted I did not take into account certain things that might make bf difficult or in some cases impossible
but do you have to jump down my throat for that?

OP posts:
magpienchips · 17/07/2011 16:18

why slowly suspect?

GoldenHaze · 17/07/2011 16:19

Wait for me, usual!

magpienchips · 17/07/2011 16:20

I put the same challenge to you usual sus...instead of trying to put me down all the time
you tell me how females came to have breasts if they were not designed by god?

Hilarious. I especially liked how Queen's response was "reasonably respectable". Wtf? Did she accidentally flash a bit of nipple?

Actually no, OP sounds like he would probably have enjoyed that.

Peculiar.

TheSnickeringFox · 17/07/2011 16:21

Ooh, can I be the first?

OP: Biscuit Biscuit

RMutt · 17/07/2011 16:21

Have you tried it? (I'm guessing not Grin)

Do you know what it feels like to be in agony from bf or to just plain fail; or be unsupported and worried sick about it at 3am with a screaming newborn and no sleep in days?

Are you aware of any one of the other myriad of setbacks that women can run into with bf and get seriously distressed about? Have you noticed too that actually there's a choice anyway it's not really anyone else's business whether women bf or ff?

Because it's an emotive subject on here and it's not cut and dried. If you want to lecture people - what position are you starting from? Are you a parent? A professional counsellor? What is your experience of it?

So far all you've given is a rudimentary and strangely worded biology lesson based on facts that most pre-schoolers have worked out.

magpienchips · 17/07/2011 16:22

thats right girls run away because you can't have an intelligent discussion because you don't know anything except how to belittle etc...
