breast is best?

I personally think it is...but I am aware that many female mothers disagree and prefer to feed their babies bottle milk...I wouldn't do it...however if for some reason you physically are unable to produce enough breast milk for you baby then and only then would I consider or use bottle milk.
I just don't think people can better breast milk...whether you believe we were created or evolved the fact is breast milk has been proven to be best for babies because it has in it exactly all that a babe needs to help it grow strong and develop.
if we evolved as we are taught in schools, how could chance manage to make female produce exactly what babies need to help them grow?
it just does not make sense...common sense tells me that the one who created us put breasts on the female chest for the purpose of feeding your babies.
it just annoys me so much when I see an advert on TV trying to persuade mothers with babies to feed them formula milk...it would be better to promote breast feeding rather than trying to make mothers use bottle milk.
anyway what are your Thoughts?
do you think breast milk is best?

Thanks.

Did they not take the baby for the checks then organiccarroycake?

S/he looks very clean.. I want this to happen with my next DC instead of the student MW poking his/her cheek bone to get them to latch on like they did with DD....

Any thoughts on when breast feeding should end? If breast fed children's IQs are nourished by nork juice, does the benefit increase exponentially, or does the benefit stop at say age 1?

Perpetual, WHO guidelines are for at least 2 years, and then for as long as mum and baby want to continue. Around the time adult teeth come in (6 or 7) children lose the ability to latch on so even if you positively encouraged your older child to feed it would one day come to a natural end.

humpty to be quite honest, I don't know as I've not read the study (must look it up). It's clearly just a representation of breast crawl (let's call it a promo video) which gives an interesting summary of their study.

perpetual Yes, the benefits increase the longer BFing continues - for mum as well - the longer she BFs the more she reduces her risk (significantly) of various cancers. Most people think children should have milk to drink (after 1) - so making that human milk instead of cow's milk makes sense.

Many people BF for 2,3,4+ years. They just don't talk about it much. Feel free to pop into the feeding older children support thread if you're interested. :)
