Is there an 'extended' breastfeeding support thread?

Or would I be better off on LLL?

Just read the 'school-age children' thread with interest but didn't want to derail :)

dd is 1 today so it's not 'extended' bf by any normal definition but judging by the number of 'Are you going to carry on breastfeeding her?' (yes because otherwise she'll be composed primarily of grapes) conversations I've had inflicted on me in the last week I think I'm going to need all the support I can get Grin

so proud we made it this far - ha ha!

Worrynot I just wanted to say I feel for you and I know how hard it can be in the wee hours sometimes. Please don't be hard on yourself.

Sleep deprivation is no fun and can be extremely difficult to deal with. Is there anyway you can get some RL help?

Finally, please give some thought to where you want to be in two weeks time. Do you wish to sleep at night? If do, now is the time to set in place a two week plan to night wean. You can still be attached parent with DS is his own room (as things stand you are really unlikely to nightwean with DS next to you).

As a last note, please try not to take any coolness from DS against you to heart. He is probably a little sleep deprived too and will take it out on the most important person in the world (his mummy).

UnMN hug.

I wonder if it's the other way round - he's with other people during the day but gets exclusive mummy time at night hence the constant need to be with you & nursing at night. Kind of a vicious circle - he wants to nurse at night and this means you get tired and ratty (understandably), he takes out his frustrations of not being able to nurse all night by being standoffish during the day and turning his attentions to the nanny, he doesn't get mummy and DS time so gets frantic at bed time to connect again, you get tired and ratty....

Does he nurse in the day at all? If he doesn't could you offer a lot and see if he needs more nursing in the day which might drop down the night nursing. Would he nap next to you during the day? Even if you didn't sleep resting would be better than not resting.

Or could you have a few days where it is just you and DS and see if that helps.
