Hi,

Is anyone expecting a March baby?

I've just found out I'm pg following a mc in April at 12 weeks, so I need some company

I have no symptoms yet, which is a bit of a concern as last time my boobs were killing...but I think I read somewhere that it can be less noticeable 2nd time around. I don't think the nausea started till about 8 weeks last time either (it's amazing how much you forget!) and maybe I should just be grateful I'm not feeling sick, last time I was nauseaus for months and lost half a stone in my first trimester, best diet ever!!

Also to the other runners out there, I'm sure I saw a couple, I am doing my first 10K race in 2 weeks time, so am really hoping I don't feel too sick and tired before then!

mendipgirl · 02/07/2010 11:35

Hi Evian baby, congrats!! My DD is 20 months as well, so we're going to have ours the same time apart, a bit scary isn't it? It's hard enough the first time, but with a toddler!! Are we mad??

EvianBaby · 02/07/2010 11:44

mendipgirl - Congrats to you too. I'm soo pleased to find someone else in exactly the same circumstances! I'm a little bit apprehensive to be honest, i'm sure that will just turn to pure excitement once the news settles in! At the moment DS is going through an interesting (ahem!) phase so i'm wondering what it's going to be like with him and a newborn! It will all be worth it though, won't it?!?
Lovely to meet everyone. Thanks snapdragon - huge congrats to you too!

Hello.

I am very scared to be posting here in case things all go pear shaped. We have been TTC for over three years now and have had our first BFP after IVF. I have added my details below.

Hoping that you guys will be able to help keep me calm.

Oh my goodness! Wow, massive congrats to you afterivf. I have everything crossed for you (and indeed all of us here). There's nothing like a group of pregnant women due at similar times to support one another in turn, I reckon.

EvianBaby · 02/07/2010 12:25

Congratulations afterivf that's amazing!

Thank you certsurprise that is so nice of you.

afterivf - hello and welcome as already stated fingers crossed for everybody.

The age thing... I am going to be 29 in August so will be 29 when bump arrives.

mendipgirl · 02/07/2010 13:29

Congrats afterivf that must be so amazing, I have a friend who had 2 unsuccessful IVFs, was told it would never happen and then got pg naturally and is due next month, she took ages to let anyone get excited as she was so scared and nervous! We are all in this together so will keep you calm.

Evian, if you mean "interesting" as in lying on the floor of tescos bawling eyes out, then I know what you mean, start of terrible 2s methinks!! One minute she is an absolute delight and then switches to babymonster in seconds...and back again!! Love her to bits though!!

afterivf · 02/07/2010 13:36

Thank you all. As an IVF patient I have an early scan at the 7 week point as there is an increased chance of a "blighted ovum". I am so worried they will tell me that there isn't actually a "baby".....but at least we won't have to wait too much longer to find out.

Fingers crossed for everyone.

specialsmasher · 02/07/2010 14:52

Feeling old now!

Congratulations, afterivf

spilttheteaagain · 02/07/2010 16:37

Congratulations to the newcomers. I am going to lose the plot very quickly with this many people!

Felt shit today and am soooooo glad to be home from work (back in bed now!) I thought nausea wasn't supposed to kick in until 6 weeks, it's early damnit!

Supposed to be going out for the day with some friends tomorrow, but I have to say the idea does NOT currently appeal. These early weeks are very tough aren't they? Noone knows you're pregnant so they are just put out when you can't cope so well with life and no one tells you to take it easy yet!

I'm 24, will be 25 by March.

lindamgw · 02/07/2010 16:43

Hi guys!!! Thanks for all the replies, haven't tested yet - will take advice and wait a few days!

Still feel similar and very very hot (but it is very very hot!) was on a school trip today (also a teacher) and felt really sicky on the bus and basically awful all day!

My food is tasting stronger I think too - noticed first with the chilli burgers but also cheese and onion crisps were VERY cheese-and-onion-y!

Will let you know when I POAS, and of course the results when I do!

annie51 · 02/07/2010 19:08

Hi

Can I join the runaway train, this is my 10th pregnancy, I have 2 dd's and have had 7mc's. So feeling very mixed up not helped by vertigo and morming sickness. Due date 03/03/11 hopefully. I'm 40 so time is running out.

BUnderTheBonnet · 02/07/2010 20:15

Hi new people!

And afterivf due date buddy!!!

annie how scary! Are you on the post-mc pregnancy thread as well?

OP posts:
Madasajarofwasps · 02/07/2010 20:26

Hello and congratulations to all the new people - its getting lovely and busy here!

Mendipgirl good luck for your 10k but don't overdo it - I was meant to be running a 10k on the 11th but am going to miss it because I just don't trust myself not to race - I am far too competitive and am not good at listening to my body when racing. Make sure you drink plenty and enjoy yourself

Annie I hope this one works out for you, you must be feeling very rough with vertigo as well, hope you feel better soon.

I am much the same at the moment, really exhausted, husband working late all the time so no help with the dc. I am starting to wonder how I will cope with three and no sleep !! I had a dream I had a boy last night - goodness its a bit soon for the childbirth dreams, no wonder I woke up feeling tired!

Madasajarofwasps · 02/07/2010 20:28

Oh forgot to add I told another friend today and she stifled an excited scream in the middle of toddler group - we managed to hide the reason!!

spilttheteaagain · 02/07/2010 21:56

Goodness madas childbirth dreams already? I can't think beyond hopefully getting to 12 weeks, and feeling safer and hopefully better too!

Mum2G · 03/07/2010 06:59

Morning all, big welcome to the those ladies who have just joined, and congratulations!

I keep waking at 5 or 6 in the morning, very annoying!

For me the nausea and sickness is coming and going, my food is tasting stronger and my sense of smell is sharper. I have got homeopathy tablets which i am starting this weekend - never tried homeopathy before. My patience is a little thinner at times too - am gonna blame it on the hormones lol.

I am so glad it is nice weather so DS can run round the garden and play with his friends whilst i can rest a bit - luckily i am off work for the summer, I have only got a bit of work to do from home, so I can chill out a bit.

btw I am 34, have a great weekend all

oh and good luck with the testing Linda

superpenguin · 03/07/2010 10:18

Morning all.
have to confess I did another test and there's no doubt about it! Will stop testing now.

Feeling slightly queasy again this morning but managed a bowl of honey nut cornflakes!

Special I'm 30 and will be 31 by the time the baby comes.
hang on a minute that sounded strange - just realised there is (hopefully) a real baby at the end of this and being pregnant is not where it ends!!

Am I supposed to phone my doctor or something soon then?

I'm empathising with Jeffily, bluebeach and others on the not drinking dilemma. I have some friends coming over for a girly weekend at my house next week and not sure how I am going to explain my not drinking, or whether I will end up telling them. Can hardly be driving when the party's in my house!! and I have never been remotely interested in being healthy so I'm sure they would find it unlikely I was on a sudden health kick! I might try that one though, or I might just tell them. Although I will only be 6 weeks and did not really want to tell people yet but it's only 3 close friends.

welcome to all the new people! there are getting to be quite a lot of us now!

sunchild77 · 03/07/2010 11:37

Happy saturday everyone
Well Im doing OU and have to spend all bloody weekend writing an essay. But instead Im here every 15mins looking for pg updates... Ive got babies on my mind rather what I should be doing..

I had a birth dream lastnight too Madasa I dreamed I naturally home birthed (with no pain at all) a MASSIVE baby girl with loads of long black hair, I called her Hayley ?!! . Crazy unrealistic dream as unless I have a mad change of mind, I'll be having a planned c/s

Im 32 (nearly 33) and live in Edinburgh if anyone is nearby?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 03/07/2010 14:01

Hello to all the new ladies...

Sunchild - I am currently in the library at uni trying to finish an essay due Monday... should I be here -NO. Must get off but just had to check since I was at a computer.

spilttheteaagain · 03/07/2010 16:33

Gah, bloody friends!

If you were meeting a couple for a pub lunch and the man phoned to say he was coming on his own as his OH wasn't feeling well - would you just accept that? Or would you give him the third degree all bloody day and try and extract from him the fact that his OH is pregnant? I am not impressed. DH didn't tell them but said it was hard going.

Honestly though, how rude! If someone is pregnant and they want you to know, they will tell you. People usually have good reasons for keeping these things private for a while.

We're supposed to be going to a wedding which will include all these friends when I will be 10-11 weeks. I'm not planning on telling them until AT LEAST after the 1st scan as generally speaking we only see these folks a couple of times a year, but am probably going to have a battle on my hands.

Am I unreasonably annoyed??

sunchild77 · 03/07/2010 17:20

No your not being unreasonable spillthetea Id be pissed off too! Was it the woman or the man that was doing all the questioning? Think women are usually worse...LOL

I had a neighbour practically ask me right out last night if I was pregnant again yet... I'm a CRAP liar and ended up telling them that I am. And then being really annoyed at my self and hoping they dont tell everyone in the street! LOL it was all because I didnt want a glass of wine, despite their repeated offers..
Im sure it will be fine, I was just a bit taken aback at being asked... Im sure it will be fine. But I so know what you mean!!
