Hi,

Is anyone expecting a March baby?

I've just found out I'm pg following a mc in April at 12 weeks, so I need some company

Thanks sunchild, sorry you got the same hassle. Nosy gits!

They think they're so perceptive and are so damn pleased with themselves for asking too.

I think the trouble with my lot is that it's all exciting and novel. DH and I are mid twenties and by faaaaar and away the first to be thinking about a family, so I think our friends genuinely have No Clue about the stresses and anxieties of ttc, not getting pregnant, worrying about it, getting pregnant, worrying about that, risks of MC etc etc. The fact that until 12 weeks you have no idea if there's a viable baby in there anyway (dreading a MMC being picked up on my 12 week scan)....

And so for them it's just "ooh are you pregnant, haha aren't I clever to guess?!"

Actually I am really grumpy at the moment . Hormones yeah?

sunchild77 · 03/07/2010 19:07

LOL Spilthetea I am total tired and grumpy bag too...
I just wish I had a fastforward button, Im so worried about the scan too. Its ages away. I keep telling my self that although Ive had 2 textbook pregnancies (apart from the births) that something is bound to wrong this time. Im almost expecting to m/c. Daft eh?
Wish I could get a viability scan, can't afford it though... ah its going to be a long wait.......

NoSleepTonight · 03/07/2010 21:17

Hi ladies, can I join?
pg #3 - (DS1-5, DS2-14months) EDD - 08/03/11 (I think) Oh, I'm 25, will be 26 by EDD.

spilttheteaagain · 03/07/2010 21:48

Course you can nosleep, congratulations!

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/07/2010 23:34

Hi everyone! I've been very self-controlled and stayed off here all day (unlike some people...) I amrk A-Level exams so I've been doing that all day, instead of being out in the lovely weather Every so often I yell "Food!" or "Drink!" at my DH and he obliges. Bless.

spilt I know how you feel with being the "first friend to have a baby". I was 25 when I had DD and it was just the same - everyone thinking they were really mature having pregnancy, birth and baby converstations, and all the while not having a clue.

I am now nearly 29, btw.

Morning all! As you can see i'm up at stupid hours because 7mth old dd3 has been playing about tonight, i think its just too hot for her. She's asleep now but i'm just too wide awake!

sunchild i can't afford one either but wish i could because i too have irrational fears of miscarriage!

Can someone pls explain what a chemical pg is? Sorry for being dim.

Congratulations to all the newbies by the way. This thread is picking up speed now and i do struggle to keep up!

I am with those of you who really want to keep it a secret until 12 weeks. But i instantly look pregnant as i did with dd3 too. At the moment i just look bloated but give it 4 more weeks i will be big enough for people to confidently ask outright and i feel so embarrassed that i'd rather new than thought i was getting fat!

i'm 32 and from london by the way.

Mum2G · 04/07/2010 04:51

Hattie if it helps you are not the only one awake at silly o clock!

Mum2G · 04/07/2010 04:53

Welcome and congratularions nosleep!

sunchild77 · 04/07/2010 09:52

Happy sunday! I hope its better weather where you guys are cos its pouring down with rain here.

Hattie Im pretty sure a chemical pregnancy is where you get a BFP but then you have a very early m/c

Congrats and welcome to nosleep too!

Welcome to our merry throng

Sorry Nosleep! not missing you out on purpose

superpenguin · 04/07/2010 10:52

hello all
I was sorry to hear about the people asking you if you are pregnant spiltthetea and sunchild - that is awful.
I am really worried it won't be long before people start asking me too, they (i.e. people in general) are such nosey buggers!
also I have a belly on me to start with and used to be paranoid that i already looked a few months pg before we even started trying!!

I would be tempted to make it really clear that they have upset you and tell them bluntly that they were wrong to ask.

I have never been known to turn down a glass of wine so everyone is going to be instantly suspicious I'm sure and I can't avoid all social occasions for the next 7 weeks!

snapdragon3 · 04/07/2010 17:34

Hi all and welcome to the new ladies! Just popped on to see what's happening. There are truly some nosey people out there! I'd be pissed off too.

We told BIL & SIL today - they are expecting a surprise 4th in August so it's going to be lovely having babies close in age.

Feeling awful today. I work Saturday and Sunday night shifts and have only slept for 2 hours today. Feel so tired and sick and DD & DS keep coming and bouncing on me when I am trying to sleep. Bleugh. Another 10 hours of work tonight and then I have to be awake all day tomorrow as well. Feeling a bit sorry for myself. Keep having to try and be sick quietly at work so I don't wake anyone or alert any staff arriving for the morning shift. Can't tell them yet...

I'll be back in finer form on Tuesday, I promise.

sunchild77 · 04/07/2010 17:39

Poor you snapdragon how can you be sick quietly?! That must be so hard. Have you tried all the usual remedies? Hope it gets better for you very soon!

EvianBaby · 04/07/2010 20:07

Hi everyone
Just thought I would pop in and say hi to you all. Sorry to hear that some of you are feeling unwell already. I was really sick last time so am just waiting for it to start again. I am so tired though.

sunchild i know what you mean about worrying more this time even though things were straight forward last time. That's how i feel. The first scan seems ages away doesn't it?

We've just spend the weekend with the in laws, we haven't told them yet so were wondering why i looked so tired! I was temped to tell them just so I could have a valid reason for a lie down!

Just got in so should unpack our case ready for the week ahead! No doubt tomorrow night i will be even less capable of doing anything worthwhile after a day at work!

It's so good to meet people having very similar experiences!

spilttheteaagain · 04/07/2010 20:37

Oh snapdragon your poor thing. Are you our first actual puker then?

Have had a fairly good day actually, just two 30 min phases of bad nausea but otherwise relatively perky and had plenty of food. Maybe it's because I didn't really get up much until 4pm yesterday? They say tiredness makes you feel worse, so I made the most of an empty house and lay in bed with book/lay on sofa with DVD etc. Very nice.

Got my first 5 day working pregnant week coming up now though

spilttheteaagain · 04/07/2010 20:38

(well, since I knew I was pg anyway - the first 3 weeks were a doddle!)

Hattie05 · 04/07/2010 20:45

Hi all.

Sorry i missed you mum2g! i'd gone back to bed and my wonderful dp gave me a lie in whilst he took the girls for a walk. Laughable really that i consider 9am a lie in but it was great!

I had a real nauseas moment for an hour or so this morning. Felt sea sick.
I've never had morning sickness before!

thx for explanation sunchild.

snapdragon3 · 04/07/2010 20:53

Thanks folks. Usual remedies help but still puke. Fortunately it's over fairly quickly but when I'm really tired it just feels yuck. Nowhere near as bad as the HG with DD, and the sickness with DS only lasted till 14 weeks so hopefully it'll go soonish.

A date for the diary Sunchild. I have my dating scan on 13th July (9 days to go eeeeek!). Then I might actually be able to give an EDD!

Off to work now, byeeeeee

BUnderTheBonnet · 04/07/2010 22:29

Hi,

Sorry for the pukiness snap. I remember being much worse when I was tired - I puked in the middle of a parents' eveing when I was pg with DD.

I had an afternoon nap for a couple of hours today - bliss! Can't sleep now though. Boo!

Morning Ladies! Hope you feel better Snapdragon and Hattie

Hope you got your essays done Sunchild and mixedmama

Evian a week at the in laws is definately cause for a rest lol

I dreamt that i got my period just before i woke up, it is such an anxious time isn't it, and what is with the sleep patterns??

Had my worst day of nausea yesterday so just lounged around too, watched the Lovely bones - and cried, but then i probably would have even if i wasn't pg!

I have only been sick once so far - a couple of days ago, ds started to imitate me later, I guess if he thinks it is a game as least he won't find it upsetting if i do end up bad with it

I remember last pregnancy trying to be ill quietly as the loos were just next to the patients waiting room at the hospital i worked at! I used to have to come out and try and avoid all eye contact

i have an early booking appt cos of the previous HG - stats update:

NoSleepTonight · 05/07/2010 08:45

Morning all,

I can not wake up today, sat here feeling half asleep and slightly sea sick.

Luckily it's a bank holiday here so DH is off work and he got up with the boys - I was only driven out of bed by the urge to pee, now I can't get back to sleep or wake up.

I'm hoping I don't get bad morning sickness like my last pg, other wise ds2's nappy changes are going to be interesting.

How many people have you all told about being pg if any?

Madasajarofwasps · 05/07/2010 09:24

I am the same nosleep I can't wake up either. I really must make a start on the day! I am a slave to my bladder - why is it that as soon as you lie down you need to wee?

I am at home with both dc today. My eldest is recovering from a sick bug which kept me up most of Saturday night. Poor thing, not sure how I managed not to join her tho! The evening before we were back late so I went to the chippy for tea and ended up really having to bite my lip to control the nausea. Even though I was really hungry there was something about the shop smell that turned my stomach. I feel odd just thinking about it!

Well I had best get on with the day, another day of quarantine to get through then back to normality I hope.

So far I have just told two friends and DH of course and he still doesnt believe me!! My mum and dad are coming for a visit this week so I might tell them when I see them, although mum doesn't like knowing too early as then she worries. She'd probably rather I told her after the scan, but then I am no good at keeping secrets!! And me not drinking will be a giveaway !!

Take care all x

sunchild77 · 05/07/2010 10:13

Well I spent most of yesterday in hormone related tears, as have decided to quit my OU course. NOT happy about that at all (no time to do it is all ). But seriously Im on a knife edge, can blubb away at the drop of a hat.

ANYWAY I was on facebook and my cousin in australia comes on the chat thing. "Ive got a bun in my oven" she says!!! NO WAY?! turns out she is due end of feb too! So of course I had to tell her about me. THEN realised that as I still havent told my parents the news, I really should! So told my mum and dad and they are thrilled. They are shocked but not surprised if that makes any sense?!

Im still starving too..
