I've just found out I'm pg following a mc in April at 12 weeks, so I need some company

me23 oscar scan same as nuchal i think, its triple bloods and scan added together and give you you odds for downs etc, think its just called different here?? Having dating scan on nhs on 24th then all being well private nuchal following day, booked it that way so didn't have to pay for scan and God forbid, told something had gone wrong then add insult to injury by them telling me "by the way you still need to pay £200" iyswim!! also am on holiday following week and will be past 13+6 by time get back!

Yeah, I'm still waiting for my scan apt, think I might have to ring the doc about that. I have two DD already, 4 and 11 months. I'm keeping it as quiet as I can this time as last time I told everyone straight away and the time felt very long, all the same I need someone to talk to (hence being here I guess) I'm totally exhausted ALL the time, I wake up after 8 hours sleep and 10 mins later I feel I could sleep for another 3 hours. I had god awful nausea last time but this time it's bearable, actually all my symptoms are less than last time, which is great but of course sometimes makes me worry if the pregnancy is progressing as it should, but that's just me worrying cause I have no real reason to worry. Anyway, I'm rambling, as you can see i needed a good pregnancy rant! Thanks for listening!

superpenguin poor you for having to wait to hear about your scan. I had my booking in same day as you and mw booked my scan as part of it, its on the 27th aug, as far as i know its dating scan and nuchal testing as well

me23 they do triple blood test but not the scan on nhs here, which a bit annoying!! At St Micheals in Bristol they offer it free to anyone with diabetes and something else but not me !! Some places do it as standard if you over 40 which i am.. only just though but again not here, tbh this PCT shit!!!

Hi Evalongoria Sorry you didn't find it friendly. I think we are getting bigger and bigger and the board moves so fast that it's often difficult to keep up with everybody. I know I'm often guilty of not responding imediately to new people by name.
Hi to niamh29 too. I think we all need pregnancy rants, don't we? I'm finding this one especially hard work with 2 little ones like you so no wonder you feel so knackered! Glad you aren't suffering too much with nausea.

We don't get nuchal scans on the NHS here either, but DH says we can try and book one privately . I wasn't going to bother having all the tests as doubt we would be inclined to do anything other than carry on regardless. I'd quite like to have another peep at pipling though

Hello all, thanks for all the goodluck wishes for my scan today. Very good news as we saw the 10+1 week old little critter with a lovely heartbeat, though was trying not to be sick all the water I had downed back up on the nurse. Very pleased and am going to allow myself to believe that this might be a tiny bit real now.

Me and DP have decided no more sexy time, not even the 2inch in style we have adopted. It seems to bring on bleeding. I've said not till 34 weeks, though that does seems ages away.
'tis bloody typical that I just feel really horny now and when I was ttc I was (as DP kindly put it) 'dry as a bone'. Ah well will see how long we hold out.

afterivf hope your scan went well today too. Its such a scary time.

sam26oscar I seem to have ballsed up the list and stolen someone elses dating scan date. Mine is the 20th August. Copy and paste is pretty technical for me.

coraltoes had a lovely holiday thanks, think it will be the last laid back holiday for a while as we mainly hitched around the country and stayed in local peoples houses. Other than the horrid bleeding and a day of vomiting it was lovely.

We came back to a veggie garden pretty much bursting so I am now going to make something with cougettes....

Bluebeach...I am glad your scan gave you good news. Mine did too. I also think that I might start to let myself think I am pregnant. It was lovely to see the arms and legs wiggle around on the screen. I would highly recommend the place we had the scan done to anyone who lives in and around Perth (not sure there are any others who live this far North!).

I live in Scotland and they do not provide nuchal scans on the NHS...you have to pay privately. I am not sure if others have been given the same advice as my midwife gave me ...I was told not to have the triple test as well as the nuchal and blood test combined. It can just lead to confusion when the numbers are not exactly the same.

afterivf Fantastic news about your scan! We have allowed ourselves to tell a few more family now seeing as things all looked fine. Think I will wait till the dating scan to tell everyone else though.

Bluebeach: I had the same type of bleeding with my first, went to the doc and she politely smiled and recommended that me and my DH should "be gentle" :)), she didn't seem to think it would be of any harm to the baby and it actually stopped itself after 12 weeks. Doc said it was cause the cervix is so soft in pregnancy. What did your doc say?

Hi niamh29 My doctor said the same really, that the vagina walls get really full with blood and when they get knocked they can bleed, kind of like a nose bleed. I haven't actually been told to abstain, but I got so freaked by the bleeding that think i might just leave it a while until I feel a bit more secure (think I might have been over reacting with the week 34 thing!).

I have a doctor friend who wouldn't have sex until the last month of her pregnancy as she said orgasms were like mini contractions and she didn't want to risk anything. However she advises her patients that sex is fine, I think she was just very paranoid (its good to know doctors get paranoid too..she used to give herself scans all the time!).

Hello everyone - I am back!! We survived camping up in the Shropshire hills, despite some wind and rain. I managed okay with some nausea which thank goodness is easing off a bit now, but I am very tired indeed. No sneaky naps for me!

Goodness its been busy round here which is so lovely, I have tried to read everyone's comments to see how you are all doing.

I am so pleased for nosleep, afterivf and bluebeach for having happy scans. I havent seen my bean yet, but I have an appointment from the hospital for 23rd August - not too long to wait now. It will be interesting to see what the due date will be. I should be 12 weeks then .

So happy for Bluebeach and afterivf with their recent happy scan news. Think I remember saying as much for Nosleep too but if I didn't, I'm very relieved for you too.

I've booked our nuchal fold scan & blood test this morning! 20th August at lunchtime we get to see the pipling again! And this time I'm getting a pic as there'll be a lot more to see, hopefully!

Madas glad you had fun camping! We're going to try and squeeze another weekend in if I can get some time off work before the seasons turn too much. Well done on managing the nausea for the duration, too.

I don't think I'm being as sick, though I say this with a whisper because typically I'll get a bad day once I say it. Hoping I'm right as I'm on a course tomorrow and have to be up and out stupidly early.

i am due on the 11th march. this is my third pregnancy and i have 1 dd who is 2 and half this month. I recently (4 months ago) lost a baby at 24 weeks to Triploidy so its all a bit fresh and obviously i am terrified. Had an early scan at 5 weeks and 8.5 weeks and
the baby was measuring fine heartbeat and all but the sac was a little small altho the dr didnt seem at all bothered.

now just the big wait untill 12 weeks.

I feel WRETCHED today.

I don't know if it's morning sickness or because I have taken on a job tonight doing a style of photography I don't normally do - namely glamour. I wonder if it's nerves.

Probably MS though. The smell of deodorant sees me running off to the loo.

I have my booking in appt on the 20th, and my scan will be 1-2 weeks after that. I reckon they do it late round 'ere.
I will be, what, 10 weeks for the booking and 12 weeks for the scan?
