Hi,

Is anyone expecting a March baby?

I've just found out I'm pg following a mc in April at 12 weeks, so I need some company

So sorry to hear that ThePFJ take care of yourself.

sunchild77 · 11/07/2010 16:58

Oh Im so sorry too ThePFJ, I hope you are ok..

mixedmamameansbusiness · 11/07/2010 17:55

Camper - welcome

PFG - so sorry.

about the sickness iseem to remember last time that grapes were the only thing thta kept me hydrated and water just made me vomit... rather odd. I have felt really crap today.... nausea kicked in but not enough to actually think i am going to be sick. Work tomorrow. Took Thurs and Fri off dreading going back in tomorrow.

spilttheteaagain · 11/07/2010 19:50

PFJ I'm sorry to hear that, take care of yourself

So I guess from this point onwards is where we all start taking sickies en masse. I had 3 last week I felt awful though, would have rather been in work and ok.

Campervanfan · 11/07/2010 20:39

Oh no PFJ. I'm so sorry to hear that

Hattie05 · 11/07/2010 21:03

So sorry PFJ xx

Not too much sicky feeling here now.

I warn you that if you start crunching ice cubes the addiction can become severe

I was pg with no.3 last summer and became so addicted that i'd demolish a whole ice cube tray in one sitting. And i'd do that several times a day. became embarrassing at work i'd sneak into the kitchen and crunch in secret!

jeffily · 11/07/2010 21:14

Thoughts with you ThePFJ. Hope you have RL support on hand.

Feel ruuubbbishhhhh today. Sick and tired. Been to bed twice when I could persuade DH to take DD out.

Thanks for BFing tips Hattie.

Hope everyone is ok and not finding the heat too bad. Just wanted to check back in and mark my place here still! Off to bed again now- look it's all of 9.15!

superpenguin · 12/07/2010 09:39

Hello everyone, hope you are all ok.

PFJ I'm so sorry to hear your sad news.

Camper welcome aboard.

I am 6 weeks today and feeling complete rubbish. Not been sick but feel very sick and am at work trying hard to look like a normal person who is perfectly well. I have almost never had a day off sick and really don't want to call in sick unless I really have to. If this gets any worse though I may do.

Have now told 4 people in RL. Told our housemate at the weekend and she was really happy for us, and although I said she is always welcome in our house I'm not sure she will want to still live here when the baby comes. Plenty of time yet though!
Then told my mum on the phone who said I had made her day, so that was nice.
Finally I felt I had to tell 2 friends who came over for a girly night of drinking at my house on saturday - I couldn't think of any plausible excuse for not drinking that they would have believed so thought it easier to tell. A lot of my close friends are still single and it's slightly sad my life will be soooo different from now on!
I've sworn everyone I've told to secrecy and I trust them all completely so I'm sure it'll be ok. I'll probably tell my dad and my sister in a couple of weeks.

mendipgirl · 12/07/2010 10:38

PFJ, so sorry hope you are getting lots of support.

I think the little and often is helping with the sickness, but it's managing to eat before it kicks in in the morning that's the problem! Think I may have to resort to keeping a pack of biscuits by my bed...so healthy. I won't let DD have any biscuits for breakfast and there's mummy chomping on a pack of hobnobs...how do I explain that to her??!

Got my first 10k race on Sunday and am very worried, the sickness is quite debilitating when it comes to running, I really struggled at the weekend and had to keep stopping to walk. I really want to do it though, I have sponsorship and am doing it for the neonatal unit that looked after DD when she was born. Obviously I signed up before I knew I was pg! Oh well, at least in a week's time it will be over and I can put my feet up!

work is a struggle to, not just the sickness but am seriously lacking in motivation as well!!

polkadottytotty · 12/07/2010 11:07

So sorry PFJ - hope you are ok xx

Hi Camper

I'm in awe of you mendipgirl - I couldn't comtemplate doing a 1ok run, pregnant or not! I hope it goes brilliantly.

I'm 5 weeks and feeling a bit sick on and off but nothing major.
When did you all start feeling properly sick?

I get very tired in the morning and at about 5-6pm - to the point where I feel like I can't even lift my legs, and I've got very tender boobs. I've also been really hot so glad for the cooler weather today - its raining here.

I'm pretty sure it was the same with my last pregnancy (you forget so quickly)- kept taking tests before the sickness kicked in just to be sure.

Havn't contacted GP yet - at what stage have you/are you planning on doing this if you havn't already?

I'm in Shropshire by the way - keep forgetting to add this.

EvianBaby · 12/07/2010 11:22

Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone.

PFJ really sorry for you. I hope you are ok and are being looked after.

I've just put two weeks annual leave in at work starting next Mon so I only have 2.5 days at work until then (i work part time). The thought of that is making me feel a bit better but i still feel pretty rubbish! DS was up loads last night and he ended up in bed with me, he then woke up for the day at 4.45am! Luckily for him he can have a nice long sleep at nursery, unfortunately i don't think i could get away with it at work!

I think i might have mentioned this before but i have been drinking lucozade to help with the sickness/nausea. I often can't even contemplate eating anything but have found that i can drink that if it's very cold. Not sure what made me try it, i'd never tried it before until last week - strange what pregnancy does to you isn't it?!

I'm finding myself wishing these first weeks away, I just want to get to 12 weeks have a healthy scan and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy. I'm sure a lot of you feel similar.

Welcome to the new people and congratulations! We can keep each other sane whilst we negotiate the next about 34-36 weeks!

Hope people aren't feeling too bad today

BUnderTheBonnet · 12/07/2010 12:00

PFJ I remember you from the October 2010 thread, when we both mc-ed. I'm gutted for you.

That "graze" website looks great. I'll sign up as soon as I can be arsed to grab my purse...

My doctor's appointment is this evening. Wish me luck for wangling a scan or something.

BramblyHedge · 12/07/2010 12:04

Another sick person here - feel so bad as have the TV on lots for the kids and the housework is piling up. I just want to go to bed :-( My 4 year old keeps asking why I am STILL sick.

mendipgirl · 12/07/2010 12:10

Agree completely Evian about wishing the first 12 weeks away, want to know the baby is okay and start feeling okay so I can really enjoy this...I loved having a bump!!

Polka, my sickness didn't kick in until 6 weeks, so am sure it will come, unfortunately! I was worrying nothing was happening and now I am feeling sorry for myself.

It's hard when you know the sickness is going to go on for weeks....I can't stand the smell of cooking anymore. Even eating my porridge this morning was a struggle...however crisps and biscuits seem to go down a treat!!

jeffily · 12/07/2010 12:37

Afternoon all

We had rain last night (am in Brighton) and it's much fresher today. DD even slept until 5am- hurrah! I usually feed her then, but am trying to move it closer to 7am, so it can be time to get up and I can gradually drop it. Am hoping for a few months of not BFing before the new little squirt is here!

I am finding I feel really sick in the mornings. Don't recall it being this bad in either of my last pgs (though that might be a little to do with being able to sleep all night and rest when I needed to- both things in short supply with my little live-wire!). I've heard that if the pg is very different to the last one, you might be expecting the opposite sex... Anyone already having any thoughts about what sex their's is? I remember feeling really strongly that DD was a little boy, right from the beginning of the pg last time. It was a total shock when she was born, 6wks early and a little girl! We didn't even have a girl name ready we were so convinced. Of course, I'll be delighted just to have a healthy baby, a little girl would be lovely for DD to have that closeness to a sister, but a little lad would be great to! I am starting to get a bit excited now, and actually believe that it might really happen...

Licorice comfits are doing it for me at the moment, along with pain au raisin. The thought of eating a healthy well- balanced lunch makes me want to heave, but lovely buttery, custardy french pastries Apologies if anyone is hating such things at the mo. Wish crunching on icecubes did it for me. I'm going to end up 40 stone if I don't take it easy.

DD's napping, so should really do the same. Am so pleased to have you lot all here to chat to/commiserate with/feel solidarity with while there are so few in RL who know. Hope you all have a good, not too sicky day!

ThePFJ · 12/07/2010 15:50

Thanks all. Just got back from hospital after a hellish time. But am ok. Am far too jealous of your soon to be bumps so will sulk off with dignity now!! All the best. xxx

snapdragon3 · 12/07/2010 17:24

PFJ So very sorry for you and sorry that you've had a hellish time at the hospital.

Welcome to the newbies.
BramblyHedge I hear you. Exactly the same in my house at the moment.

Jeffily we didn't find out the gender with either of ours as we like the surprise too much, but yes, I had very strong feelings that DD was a girl and DS was a boy. My initial hunch is that this is another girl. Not remotely bothered either way and we won't be finding out.

Well ladies, I have my dating scan in the morning. Am veering between being excited and terrified.

Still feeling rough. Some days not so bad as others so hope I can cope without the tablets but we'll see.

coraltoes · 12/07/2010 17:41

Hello!
i'm new but would love to join you if that is OK? got BFP last thursday, struggling a bit with EDD but doc has put it at early march for now (might be v.late feb)...wasn't planned but is a delightful surprise...apart from the horrific nighttime stomach cramps (doc says not to worry) and nausea!

so i'm
Coraltoes pg 1 EDD tbc! approx 1/3/2011

congratulations to you all

Campervanfan · 12/07/2010 20:46

Evian I also totally agree re getting to 12 weeks, especially with what's happened to poor PFJ, I haven't been able to keep that out of my mind all day.

Wow Snapdragon, how come you're getting your dating scan so early? I'm being lazy not reading back!!

Welcome Coraltoes and congrats to you too!

I got sore boobs at about 5 weeks last time and only 4 weeks at the moment, think the nausea kicked in last time at about 6 weeks. I had an implantation bleed last time, in fact I thought it was my period until day 5, but no sign of that yet which is a huge relief as it was worrying to be bleeding even though everything was OK.

polkadottytotty · 12/07/2010 21:07

So sorry PFJ - thinking of you.

Good luck for tomorrow snapdragon - wishing all the best. Let us know how it goes.

Had a BFP Thurs/Fri/Sat just to be sure and have docs app tomorrow. Feeling very weirded out. I have wanted this for a long time, but dp is less fond of the idea, and doesnt know yet... eeek! Not sure how to approach it yet so am leaving it a while till I get my head round it. So:

RoseNoir pg#1 EDD 17/03/11

thingamajig · 12/07/2010 22:29

Hi there ladies, wow you lot talk a lot. I got my BFP 3 days ago but I've only just read to the top. I have a dd age 2.5 (I think I remember mixedmama from the Dec 2007 group - hi!).

I'm feeling fine, if a bit tired, so far, but I don't think my MS (which happened at 6pm) kicked in till 6-8 weeks last time. Last time I had a fantastic home birth (on Christmas day), and I would love to do it again. Unfortunately my medication (Lithium) means I will have to go to hospital this time, and lots more scans/monitoring.

I'm intrigued by the twins/BF theory, I had a little google and found this (scroll down to 'Previous twinning studies'
Good luck to everyone out there, and roll on 12 weeks, or at least dating scan times....

snapdragon3 · 13/07/2010 09:58

Hi all and welcome to the new ladies!

Had my dating scan this morning which was great! The mystery over the dates is solved and we're working to a due date of 1st March, which puts me at 7 weeks. I guess the abdominal surgery I had in May messed up my cycle so badly I missed AF that month.

Didn't get a picture as tbh there's not a lot to see at this stage. Saw the heartbeat and everything seems to be as it should be. Now just have to sit back and wait for the booking appointment at about 12 weeks and get back on the merry-go-round of appointments and growth scans, I imagine.

Delighted to have seen our little pipling and yes - there was only one in there! I guess it might arrive in late Feb if the c section is done before 40 weeks but I have plenty of time to see how I feel about it all. First job is to get on top of the sickness.

Love to you all. Off to go and do a cautious happy dance now
