Im bleeding.

Never had bleeding in early pregnancy before. Im 6+5 weeks, Dr has arranging an early scan, its on thursday.
I'm so nervous, worried and upset. I just woke up with it this morning.
there is no pain, but Im not feeling optimistic in the slightest.

Please send me all the positive vibes you can. I dont know what else to do.

sunchild77 · 13/07/2010 10:00

SOrry snapdragon cross posted with you... DOnt want to put you on a downer... SO glad to hear all is good with you...

coraltoes · 13/07/2010 10:08

Wow spent all night with cramps and pain down right leg...this is a bummer. Washoping I'd take to preg like a duck to water, but currently more like a cat to water!
Have had bad cramps for a week now, and am so tired of them! Any tips?

Sunchild, I have everything crossed for you for Thursday, really hope you get reassurance.

snapdragon3 · 13/07/2010 10:19

Oh no Sunchild Truck loads of positive vibes to you. Hope things settle down. Everything crossed

BUnderTheBonnet · 13/07/2010 12:13

So sorry sunchild. Hope everything's OK. When is your scan?

My doctors appointment was a waste of time. I'll be talking to the midwife on Wednesday. Still determined to get an early scan, if I can, then I'll switch to my independent midwife after that.

Thinking of you sunchild and sending you lots of thoughts and positive vibes. It's so frightening when this happens. I had bleeding at 6, 8 and 12 weeks with my DD though and she is a very stroppy 15 mo now, so try to keep hope that all will still be well. Must be so hard to have to wait till thursday for an answer.

I had my 1st app with the MW today. She couldn't answer any of my questions re extra scans for heart anomolies but is going to find out and call me this afternoon. Got my Nuchal Fold scan booked in for 17th Aug, was a bit tricky to fit in around the several weeks we are away this summer! Booking in with bloods in 2 wks.

Not feeling too sick today, as long as I eat every hour and a half.

Welcome and congrats Kagey, Coraltoes and RoseNoir!

sunchild77 · 13/07/2010 12:26

Scan on thursday 10.45am. My friend has taken my kids out to the park (school hols here) and Im supposed to be resting. There is still blood when I wee.
Not optimistic at this point at all, though still no pain. I can't do anything to take my mind off it.
I want DH here, but he is away with work for the day. I just hope he can come home early

Madasajarofwasps · 13/07/2010 12:30

Hello everyone - and welcome to all the newbies, its getting busy on here

Sunchild big hugs for you, what a worry for you. Thursday seems a long way away for you, I have everything crossed for you. If there is no pain, there is hope. Take care.

As for me I feel rough, rough, rough. So tired and so nauseous, all the time. Still I am not complaining, but roll on 12 weeks. I am now craving pork pies, which doesn't seem like a healthy thing to crave - my cholesterol levels must be rising fast! Strange as normally I can't stand them! Drinking is difficult as water makes me gag, only milk seems to work. Can't face tea or coffee now either.

Great news for your scan snap

Take care all x

mixedmamameansbusiness · 13/07/2010 12:49

Sunchild - positive vibes from here.

Welcome newbies.

Thingam - DS2 put in an appearance on the 11th Jan in the end and was posting on both Dec/Jan so in the end just stayed with Jan. Welcome.

I am vomitting now, so I believe I am pregnant now.

Told my boss as I have had some sickness issues over the past year relating to chronic migraine and because i know I am quite bad with the sickness. He was fine but asked me if I wanted him to keep my job open - errrr yes, do you not have to? Anyway, he then proceeded to tell the other partner in the open office very loudly. But whatever really.

BUnder - are you on the 2010 reception thread.... my DS1 is staring in Sept too, we are visiting on Thurs.

EvianBaby · 13/07/2010 12:53

Hi sunchild how are you? Just wanted to say i'm thinking of you, we're all in this together and can understand how you must be worried. Lots of love for tomorrow. Take care today and try and relax as much as possible (much easier to say than do I expect. I'm sending you LOADS of positive vibes.

Hope everyone else is ok?

Oceanbreeze · 13/07/2010 17:54

Good afternoon everyone.

Hello to all the newcomers

sunchild loads of positive vibes coming your way. Hope things have settled down and good luck with the scan.

coraltoes I'm with you on the cramps, and also the leg pain (what is that all about!) Sadly, I don't have any tips.

RoseNoir another first-timer here! There are a couple of us bumbling about with amongst all the more experienced ladies. Good luck with your dp!

Sorry for all those who are feeling sicky You probably don't want to hear this, but I've only had mild sporadic nausea so far - it is making the whole thing seem less real. Still madly tired all the time though

bluebeach · 13/07/2010 18:14

Yep positive vibes to you sunchild, no pain is a good thing and it doesn't sound like a lot of blood so hoping you get good news on Thursday xx

I've been ill with food poisoning this week. It wasn't severe and I wasn't sick... just the other end, ahem . It think it only lasted 24 hours but hard to say as I have started to get nauseous anyway. Obviously worried I've done some damage, but will speak to the midwife at my booking in apt next wed.
So angry with myself as I got it from Rotisserie chicken from the supermarket, only after being ill did I read the advice not to eat pre-cooked deli meat.

Other than that I saw Eclipse last night (ok I know I'm 29) and got a dose of teen hormones to go with my pregnant ones!

snap jealous that you got to see the pip! brilliant that all is going well.

xx

Goldenbear · 13/07/2010 18:59

Positive vibes Sunchild77.

Hello, can I hop on.

Pg# 2 (DS 3) EDD 17/03/11

I am still not convinced, have 3 BFPs and no period, also I look 4 months already, almost popped out overnight. However, unlike my first pregnancy have very slight brown blood, it's so slight I don't know if I am imagining it?

Celia76 · 13/07/2010 19:56

Sunchild77 - massive positive good vibes from me! I know you won't be reassured until you have your scan, but only 1 day to go so keep thinking positive thoughts!

Bluebeach - thinking I might've had a dodgy tummy due to food too. Re-heated pizza - but it coincided with morning sickness (now actually being sick some mornings!) so I can't be sure. I've decided that as I had a tiny amount and DH had tonnes and is fine I won't let the worry get to me too much....

Dating scan tomorrow!!

Welcome to the new members......

Hattie05 · 13/07/2010 20:29

Hi to all newbies.

Sunchild i'm so sorry, best of luck for Thursday xx

Thanks for the link thingmajig someone else also posted that on another thread. Interesting huh? were you breastfeeding when you conceived?

Feel fine here. Busy getting ready for hols on sat! Almost don't feel pregnant really just so busy with the dd's and holiday preparations.

lemonspongecake · 13/07/2010 20:34

Hello

May I join you? Got my BFP at the weekend and I am in total shock.

This is my second pregnancy (DD,18m) and to be honest I was not really planning to have another yet. I am still trying to get my head around it. Got a Drs appointment tomorrow.

So, I'm Lemon Sponge Cake EDD 11/3/11.

spilttheteaagain · 13/07/2010 21:05

Congratulations lemon

Thinking of you sunchild I hope you've got support and that it turns out to all be ok.

I've just written properly to my boss to tell him I'm pregnant (have already told him verbally) so that I'm entitled to my time off for antenatal appointments (got one tomorrow) and so that he is obliged to carry out a Risk Assessment. Why didn't I chose a nice safe office job?!

How are you all calculating your due dates? I got mine off of Fertility Friend as 4th March. However MN calculator reckons 28th Feb-1st March... I ovulated on 11th June on CD12 and was headed for a 22 day cycle. Who was right??

I am excited at the possibility of being a few days ahead of where I thought I was...

Thanks!

coraltoes · 14/07/2010 08:43

URGH not enjoying this week!
Have developed a wonderful way of dealing with the cramps in the middle of the night (take note oceanbreeze )
I whimper, i sit on the loo, i put a pillow on the linen basket and sleep there whilst on the toilet praying the agony will pass. I then get up, trip over my knickers which by now are around my feet and get back into bed. Repeat 4 times per night for maximum results.

This morning was day 1 of nausea (no real MS yet thank god). 2 ginger biscuits have helped but i'm such a wimp...i hate being sick.

snapdragon3 · 14/07/2010 08:52

Celia all the best for your scan. It's so lovely! Makes it all very real.

Lemon and Goldenbear welcome to you.

Spilt I'm having similar thoughts about telling my boss because of the whole risk assessment thing. Kind of wanting to hold off because I've only just started but I work in a risky environment and sod's law says one of the guys will lash out/have a massive seizure/I'll fall off the stepladder and hurt myself!

And as for calculating due date...well I'm a bit stuffed really this time around so just having to go on the dating scan. Not had AF since 3rd May (hence the query with dates)and have no idea when I ovulated but apparently due in first week of March looking at the size and development. In terms of the differences in calculation, I'm always happy to get a later due date because it means baby gets to cook a bit longer before hospital gets jumpy about being overdue.

jeffily · 14/07/2010 09:40

Morning all and welcome to newbies.

Well, I was up at 4 with sickness- held off the actual vomiting with a fruit digestive and a glass of milk, but v annoying, esp as I knew I'd also be awake at 5 with DD. After her enormous protest at not getting a BF she went back off at 6, and I then slept till 7.30! Ended up in a rush to get her off to nursery and DH to work, so now am sitting with feet up, cup of mint tea and MN. Lovely!

Making the most of the R&R as have to work a 13 hour day tomorrow. I haven't told work as I am going to wait till after the summer hols (am a teacher) when everything will feel more certain. Also, I only went back part way through this academic year, and will now be off part way through the next so am not expecting HT to be exactly delighted.

MW called me back yest with more info about extra scans and appointments etc. Our risk of having another baby with a heart condition is apparently still higher due to our first baby's Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. 2%- doesn't sound like much but when you have been the one in 5,000 it feels like pretty high odds! Am feeling a bit strange about it really. Last pg I didn't actually believe we were going to end up with a real, living child who stayed with us for longer than a few minutes until we actually got her home. Even now I sometimes think I am going to wake up and she'll be gone. Hopefully this time it will feel more real once we have had the first heart scan, at 14 weeks. I was starting to feel like I might tell more people, but now am back to holding off until we have had that first scan. If I can that is- I am already feeling like you can see a little buldge towards the end of the day and am only 6+6!

Hope the scan is wonderful Celia. So lovely to see that there really IS someone there!

superpenguin · 14/07/2010 10:19

Morning all.

Mendip I am also now keeping a packet of biscuits by my bed! Not sure if it is helping or not though.

Polka I felt the same as you last week, now I'm into week 6 I feel terrible!
Told my doctor straight away on the phone, not going in for an appointment though until 30th but they now have it on my records.

BUnder sorry to hear your docs appt wasn't worth it - what did they say / do?

welcome to Coraltoes, Kagey, RoseNoir, thingamajig, goldenbear and lemonspongecake! wow we are getting a big group now!

snapdragon that's so exciting to hear about your early scan - how amazing to hear the heartbeat already!!

Sunchild I am so sorry to hear your news, hope everything is ok. Sending positive vibes your way xxx

Mixedmama your boss sounds like an idiot! hope things are ok at work.

Hello to everyone else!

I am empathising with all those feeling sick. My nausea has really kicked in this week although not actually vomited yet but felt like I was going to several times and just feel awful all day - morning afternoon and evening sickness!
I went home sick from work monday afternoon and am struggling today but trying to pretend all is well as don't want to start having lots of sick days or to tell anyone at work yet. How I wish I was at home though!

things that help:
sleep
fresh air
the smell of lemons (not sure why!)
very small portions of very bland food at regular intervals.

I hope it doesn't go on like this for the next 6 weeks or more...

snapdragon3 · 14/07/2010 14:18

Superpenguin hope your sickness clears soon. Amazing what random things can help. Horrible to feel so sick and not be able to explain it to anybody. I've got a bit of a thing for ice cold freshly squeezed orange juice which helps a bit. Am trying anything and everything as the pills really knocked me out before and I don't really want to be like that and be looking after DCs, needing to drive etc. But if it gets that bad, I think they'll have me in hospital.

Could do with Supernanny here to help out today. Both kids awake a lot overnight with hacking coughs so three of us cranky today. How DH managed to sleep through it, I'll never know!

Skived off toddler group this afternoon because DS was shattered. So after walking DD up to preschool at lunchtime, we came home and had snuggles on the sofa. DS still conked out. Glad I was awake as phone rang and it was the antenatal clinic. Got my booking in appointment on Friday at 3pm. Blimey, they are on the ball these days. Usually been done at 12 weeks.

Celia how was the scan? Hope all is well.

Sunchild thinking of you. Hope it's settling down. Hope tomorrow gives you the answer you want.

spilttheteaagain · 14/07/2010 15:48

coraltoes those cramps sound awful! And here's me thinking I had it bad with nausea and tiredness.

I hope those stop soon. Why do they happen?

I saw my midwife today for the pre-booking in appointment (booking in on 5th Aug).
Am very pleased because due to my short cycles she has put down an EDD of 28th Feb and said I'm probably 7-7.5 weeks now instead of the 6+5 I thought

I am so very pleased about being a little further through this crappy trimester than I thought! It'll be interesting to see what the dating scan thinks.

superpenguin I fully agree that sleep helps the nausea. And at least when you're asleep you don;t feel sick. On that basis I have booked tomorrow off work so that I can sleeeeeep all day.

Celia76 · 14/07/2010 17:48

Dating scan was fab! Saw the heartbeat and heard the heartbeat!! That was weird seeing as the baby is only 7mm long! Also have a photo to show DH, but don't have a clue what I'm looking at!

I have a new EDD of 06.03.11!

I'm now being sick every morning, sometimes the sickness goes at lunchtime, other days it's there into the night which is a bummer (and even waking me overnight some nights). Finding that I can't eat until lunchtime, by which point I'm starving.

Sunchild thinking about you! Good luck tomorrow.

polkadottytotty · 14/07/2010 21:38

Hello all

Sunchild thinking of you and hope you get good news tomorrow.

Welcome and congratulations to all the newbies.

Lovely to hear about your scans Celia and Snapdragon - havn't got a date for mine yet but feels like a long way away.

Jeffily I am also a teacher - desparate for summer holidays now. Its good timing really, most of MS should be gone (fingers crossed) by the time we start new term. Are you primary or secondary?
Sorry to hear about your past experience - I am sure everything will be fine with this little one. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

I have felt quite sick today and have started going off lots of food, including chocolate and cakes !!! I'm craving lots of fresh, light food which is great - had tuna salad pittas for tea, yum! But I'm just exhausted - I don't remember being this tired when expecting my boys.
