That is excellent news Sassy

Chathappy · 04/08/2010 18:38

Hello! I've only just discovered this thread!

I live in Cambridgeshire and due 8/9 with a girl (apparently) - have 2ds and this will be the last one now.

Haven't had a chance to read through the whole thread but 'hi' to everyone and hope you're not all too uncomfortable!

I'm 35 weeks today the last week or 2 I'm starting to feel it all a bit more. I'll be glad to have the baby sooner rather than later just so that I can get rid of that constant need to pee tbh!!

sassy34264 · 04/08/2010 18:38

Thanks parkj83 and sazziej
Having to go and pick him up from a junction on the M6 which i've never been to before....gulp. Bit nervous, especially in this condition, but it's only 10 mins away.

sassy34264 · 04/08/2010 18:40

Welcome chathappy

skyeplusbump · 04/08/2010 19:28

hello,chathappy!

sassy thankyou, it is certainly something i will look into...
and great news about your dp!

bananastew · 04/08/2010 21:27

Sassy thats great news. One less thing to worry about! We're also doing the house up. There's lots to do & I feel absolutely useless because I can hardly walk let alone do anything else! Ds has discovered Toy Story so I'm being a terrible mummy & sitting him in front of it far too much!

Anyone else with SPD does it affect your knees? Mine have been really painful the last couple of days.

36 weeks (tomorrow!)

TiredofYorks · 04/08/2010 21:54

Hi Everyone

I haven't been on here for ages, but you do have me on the list (my previous name was TTTrouble)

I haven't read the whole thread so hope everyone is doing ok.

I finished work last week and it feels great, although I have got so much to do. I'm moving (or dictating where it should be moved to!) all the furniture round upstairs and it's driving me nuts as nothing fits where I want it. I'm stressing as I want everything ready in the next week or so, so can enjoy the few weeks following and rest.

I'm getting lots of Braxton Hicks, once I get sat on the sofa they come every half an hour at least and are quite uncomfortable. Makes me excited for the real thing though.

DS was induced due to IUGR and then born by emergency cs so I'm praying I get to do it as naturally as possible this time. All my growth scans so far have looked good, so I have one more next week and then if that's ok, just have to convince my consultant to let me use the MLU rather than be strapped to a monitor in the consultant unit :D

Take care all, will try keep in touch from now on.

Hello all

Sorry to hear about the various aches and pains I've been lucky so far - the occasional twinge but nothing serious... I'm pretty much permanently on the gym ball now though - can never get comfy on the sofa... I even have a little side table set up so I can sit on the ball while using the laptop ;)

sassy that's fantastic news about DH I'm assuming you managed to find him, loitering at a motorway junction!

SkaterGrrrl I've just started getting BH too! doesn't feel quite like I was expecting... actually quite painful while I was walking to the station yesterday evening and the tightening sensation was much higher up in my belly than I'd thought it would be - I was expecting it to be low down like period pains.

Hello to TiredofYorks and chathappy

Sounds as if some of you are getting really organised now. We really need to sort our nursery out - we've been given loads of hand-me-down baby clothes but currently have nowhere to put them! Bag not packed at all but I still have a bit of time... hopefully!

Morning all

Just had my mw round, and been talking about homebirth.

She's going to talk to her supervisor to make sure it's ok, because of the infection I had with DS and the induction/forceps delivery too. so I may have to have a check-up with an obstetrician (sp?) to be safe. Thankfully, I 'know' one of the dudes there, who treated me privately for something, but said he did NHS too, so I've asked to see him.

Oh, I really hope it's ok though.

SkaterGrrrrl · 05/08/2010 13:36

AliKatt Im ashamed to say my BH prompted me to spend even more money online as it occured to me "This could be it!". So promptly hired a TENS machine and bought a sling.

skyeplusbump · 05/08/2010 14:24

soooo tired...
can barely stay awake, ive become a crap mother,dd's been watching movies/cbebbies since lunch time.
(we did do tumble tots this morning though)

i just want to go to bed, honestly cant keep this up.

never thought id say this but i cant wait for the 24-48 hrs after labour when i'll get to lie in bed, doing nothing but bf,with midwifes bringing me tea...

ooosabeauta · 05/08/2010 15:39

Oh Skye, I think I know how you feel but please don't feel like you're doing a bad job - you're providing a sibling for your dd! I, too, feel absolutely knackered and a bit useless, but am very very lucky that I've got dh at home at the moment for the summer hols. Even with his help I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps. Hormones I think.

Does your Tumble Tots keep going through the summer? Ours stopped at the end of school term, but I am really missing having some structured activity for ds because all the classes are off. Have to say I did struggle even a few weeks ago with Tumble Tots though - all that bending and getting up and down!

Hope you feel better soon or manage to get some rest. And hello to TiredofYorks and Chathappy.

bananastew · 05/08/2010 16:57

Skye Me too! Ds is watching his 3rd dvd of the day & was forced into an early nap because I just couldn't carry on! I'm just desperate for the time to come when I can play with him properly again & stop saying "mummys tired!"

I've noticed that my last few posts have all been negative & moany! Makes me sound really ungrateful! I'm so excited at the prospect of having a new baby to cuddle! My friend came round the other day & we were cooing over the tiny clothes & how cute the nursery looks! Only 4 weeks till d day!!!!

sassy34264 · 05/08/2010 17:45

Thanks to everyone for being pleased for me, but it was a bit premature........ I was all- oh it's great your back now, you definately won't miss it and he says 'i have to go back for 3 days though cos i'm duty, i did tell you'. Rolling eyes. He did tell me, but weeks ago.....i'm bleeding ditsy when i'm not pregnant, so twice as bad now and i had promptly forgot. Guess i will have to keep fingers crossed over the 19th-21st August. Groan.
We were talking about not being able to reach the pedals on the cars the other day. You should see me trying to type this!! I'm sat on the couch with the laptap on my knee and my hands are only just reaching the keys! Tried on two tops that i was wearing the other week (one of them is the t-shirt in the pic i posted) and they won't fit now. So instead of rotating 5 outfits, i now have 3. Just two examples of my humongous size. I'm getting really stared at in the street too-i have noticed. Said to DP i feel like a freak show.

mellymooks · 05/08/2010 17:48

Oh God I'm so glad I'm not the only one feeling really down and like I'm a neglectful Mama, cbeebies are factoring heavily in our lives right now.

I've been in tears so much today and was sobbing down the phone to my best mate about how rubbish I am feeling about a myriad of stuff and she was like right I'm coming over (she lives 3 hours from me) and at 1pm today she is on my doorstep with chocolates, crisps and magazines and hugs what a wonderful friend I feel very lucky.

patito · 05/08/2010 18:09

HI

Can I join the "feeling rubbish Mummy" group, was crying the other night to DP about how I cant play with DS now. I realised how much I moan to DS as he came to play the other day he brought me a plaster and said there you go Mummy, and kissed my leg better. I felt so sad that he was looking after me .

I moaned about PILS coming but they will be a great help in keeping him entertained and taking him out to playground etc. It will also give me chance to meet up with a friend for a coffee and go shopping ALL ALONE, bliss, no DS or DP moaning in the background .

37 weeks this weekend and woefully unprepared.

mozart · 05/08/2010 18:54

Hello all, this is my first post recently I think!! Cant remember anything these days. 34 weeks today and 3rd pregnancy. So uncomfortable this time and other 2 little ones are having to put up with a very tired and irritable mummy which makes me feel so guilty... but unable to change my evil ways!! Pelvis hurts most of the time but baby transverse at the moment so having to keep moving and sitting upright and doing strange all 4 exercises to convince her otherwise. Absolutely certain she is probably gonna be at least 10pounds if she goes over as my last one was 9pounds 8, so will be trying everything to get her out around the 38 week mark!

Poor hubby has to put up with cranky old me as well. I stopped work on Sunday as am scared that I will make a life threatening mistake (healthcare professional) and my pelvis cant take the pressure of standing up for too long anymore. Now I am left feeling like I have all this time just to WAIT!!!!

I think you all get the idea now... I am feeling particularly moany!!!!

Can't wait to meet my lovely little girl though!! Just wish she would hurry up.

MammyG · 05/08/2010 19:32

Hi all
Hello to TiredofYorks and Chathappy
Sassy - delighted for you! Mad how tension can build up unbeknownst to us. Still at least he is home now and you can relax.

Have decided to NOT feel like a crappy mom. Realised thru something funny last few days that although I feel useless it turns out the boys love having me around all the time! love the stories instead of games, are enjoying being outside in the garden on their own! And have become great buddies since I stopped racing in to intervene in every tiff. I think they are actually enjoying the slower pace and Im not so manic about how and when things are done. Also they wont remember these days much when they are older. My eldest who is only 4 is also getting really into it now. Even this morn was giving his his lil bro a kiss and a hug and told him that he loves him lots and when the baby comes he is going to love her lots too! Im heading cross country for a few days on sundsay so just trying to get clothes sorted etc - dryer decided to pack in too! Bugger! Am leaving fixing nursery etc until I get back.
Saw gp today - all well but bp still very low. Meant to make an appt with the dentist to sort out these painful teeth but between having the boys to myself today, trip to doc etc I forgot! How mad is that! They are constantly at me and a huge pain and I still forgot to call the dentist!! My poor brain is a fog!
I know there is a thread for names but value the opinions here. DH really likes the name Phoebe. Im a bit surprised because Im starting to like it. I have had such trouble picking a girls name. No prob with boys. But just couldnt find a name that I felt comfortable looking at my bump and imagining my baby being called that. I love Eliza but again it just didnt 'sit' well with me. And lately have been feeling Phoebe could be a real contender. What do ye think?

skyeplusbump · 05/08/2010 19:34

ohh,im so glad youre all feeling rubbish too!

ooosa it does keep going but its not a 'real' tumble tots, its run by our local leisure center, its exactly the same thing really(i used to work for tt)we just dont have a real one near us...i have to say though,im fully knackered afterwards now,i used to bound around doing all the stuff with her,now i just follow her about trying not to look neglectful!

saw a woman there today just staring at the wall for like 5mins,i asked her if she was ok,it turns out shes just had a baby and her dd is 2,she looked a bloody mess...scared the shite out of me!

on another note...im on the hunt for the best nursing bras,i used bloody awful ones last time for 18 months!
so screw it,this time im spending money and getting the best!
just as soon as i find them....

cinnamongreyhound · 05/08/2010 20:37

I love Phoebe MammyG, very pretty and a good name for all ages. My favourite for a little girl if we'd been having one was Daisy, but not sure it will suit my little man-to-be!

Skyeplusbump I had this one last time, still fits at the moment so fingers crossed I won't need to buy anymore. Depends if you like underwired nursing bras but I loved it. The Hot Milk ones on this site seem to be very popular too.

I had my scan today and good news all round!! Baby is head down, although free. My fluid levels are back to normal and although baby is over average he's still within normal range so I am back to hoping for a natural delivery and who knows may actually get the water birth I hoped for last time

Sorry some of you are feeling rubbish about what you are doing with your DC. I am still feeling ok, although tired by the evening but because I'm working until I have my baby I'm feeling guilty about the last bit of time DS will have me to himself he's still sharing me with the children I childmind and I'm trying to find a few hours here and there to do things together.

ethelina · 05/08/2010 20:55

Hey Cinnamon, glad to hear your babes definitely turned head down, hopefully will stay that way til makes an appearance.

Weeble's not budging so I'm booked for ECV next wed. Oh joy.

MammyG · 05/08/2010 22:14

Hey cinnamon - thanks for the response. Think something less flowery for your little man would be appropriate! We were going to call a boy Quinn, runners up were Jonah and Sebastian.
Good news on the baby too.
My first was a big baby - 9lbs4 and second was 8lb7oz but midwife told me that my anatomy is apparently 'built for babies'!! Not sure how to take that one but I guess its good! Anyway it would seem its not so much the size of the baby as the room in your pelvis. Im only 5'4 and average weight so I was petrified of a big baby before that. Hope you get your water birth. I would love to have the facility but unfortunately here its a no go.

skyeplusbump · 05/08/2010 22:58

thanks cinnamon good website actually, think i'll order a few different ones!see how i like them, found a nice sleep bra but ive had to order it from the usa as no one stocks it here!

hoping for a waterbirth too! i had a natural birth last time, but there was no time to fill the pool-i gave birth after 10mins of pushing 1/2hr after i got to the hospital! id been in labour for 11hrs but id kept delaying leaving as i thought i would be sent back home!!
dd was 6lbs10, so im hoping for another littlen!!

comixminx · 06/08/2010 07:54

I also think Phoebe is a lovely name for a baby girl and for a grown-up woman later on too. Go for it!

MW appointment this morning, with a new MW - my lovely old one has moved to a different area so fingers crossed that this new one is also nice.

I absolutely love Sebastian MammyG but DH doesn't like it at all. The only 2 of my suggestions he will consider are Sam or Luke and very unhelpfully hasn't suggested any of his own! We only chose DS's name after he was born and I said he looked like a James and DH said yeah if you like! Hadn't been on the list at all. He was 8lb 12 1/2oz but was told when pregnant to expect a 10lber! Not really worried about the size but if he had been really big they wanted to induce me so I'm relieved about that.

I was induced last time skyeplusbump which would have been fine but I didn't manage to get past 5cm with pressary so needed drip which means everything is highly monitored, so no water. Hope this one comes by himself now.

Good luck with your midwife comixminx, mine is lovely if a little mad! Had her when I had my first too so she knows us quite well by now. When I went to my last appointment with 6 children, she had been the midwife to all but one of them while thier mum's were pregnant and that's because she was born in Poland!
