anyways how is everyone else today?

cluelessnchaos · 16/06/2010 12:22

knackered, dd1 is off to a swim comp in glasgow, I am not sleeping well anyway as I am in the spare room while renovations in our room and had to get her on the bus for 5am, I am going to have some luch and go back to bed before I get the other 2 from school

addictedisalmosthalfway · 17/06/2010 07:35

have fun at your scan today hmmsleep.

dairymum · 17/06/2010 08:17

This baby is well and truly active. at night mostly when i want to go to sleep. i think it's using my bladder as a trampoline though.
Is anyone else suffering from hay fever?

if so what can you take?

hmmSleep · 17/06/2010 08:38

Hope scans go well today hmm and addicted

Had my scan yesterday and it was lovely! Were in there for about 20 minutes looking really closely at all parts of baby and all is on order which is great and soo relieving! spent ages looking at the heart and had s consultant in with the sonographer to make sure she got the best view, but that all looks great too! Am sooo happy!

Just for others wanting to find out sex...,she didn't even ask us if we wanted to know, and it was only at the end I told her we didn't want to find out, but could she see anything obvious and she said no she was none the wiser than we were! Baby is breech at the mo so positioning meant she couldn't have told us anyway, so glad I didn't have my hopes up wanting to find out.

Seem to have a bit of a wriggler in the mornings, which is lovely as sets me up well for the day

Think u can take piriton for hayfever dairy (think I remember Reading that on here before)

Olivetti · 17/06/2010 09:27

Hi - I am 19 + 3 today, with EDD of 9th November. This is my first. I'm getting worried because I haven't felt any movement yet, although bump definitely growing, and bladder feeling the strain! Midwife said not to expect anything until at least 20 weeks, but I can't help worrying. Does anyone have any thoughts? I posted on the main pregancy thread as well.
Thanks so much.

addictedisalmosthalfway · 17/06/2010 10:08

olivetti i'm 20 weeks today and only felt my baby move on monday (i think, it could have been tuesday!) and realised that i have infact been feeling it for along time with out realising it!

try drinking sitting on the sofa or on your bed in a really comfortable position, so that your tummy isnt all scrunched up, really relaxing and concentrating on your uterus. that worked for me. but lots of people dont feel anything untill 22, 23+ weeks. dont stress too much about it. have you got your 20 week scan coming up? that should put your mind at ease

Booboobedoo · 17/06/2010 10:53

Hi everyone.

Thanks for the ebay links, Rinny.

clueless - hope you got some more sleep.

Welcome to the thread, Olivetti! Your midwife is quite right, but it's hard not to worry, I know.

Feeling quite marvellous. (Sorry for those who are not. That was me last time). Never imagined I could enjoy being pregnant this much. Nice bump, nice maternity clothes, glowing skin, strong nails - the works.

Took DS swimming yesterday. We went to the Latchmere Centre in Battersea (thought of you, honeymoo), because they've got a wave machine. It was great feeling so light in the water, as I'm feeling decidedly heavy on land.

bunnygirl80 · 17/06/2010 10:57

babybean glad your scan went well. I seem to have a morning wriggler as well - as soon as I eat my breakfast baby starts kicking away

I've been to a few pg exercise classes recently and I've really noticed how much smaller my bump is than everyone else who's at the same stage as me. I'm starting to get a bit as I want to look properly pg now. I'm sure I won't be wishing for a bigger bump by the time November comes along though

mumcha · 17/06/2010 11:33

Hi all glad to hear all gd scan news.does any1 remember the appletiser free trial they were offering on mumsnet ,well i applied for it and it came last nite,4 bottles of different flavours and money off vouchers .I love getting surprises lol.

Rinnyx · 17/06/2010 11:42

How is everyone doing today?
And good luck to people who have their scans soon, still just over a week for me, feels like dragging now.

I'm in a good mood today minus the ever ongoing back pain and now waking up at 2/3am with hunger pangs.
I got my dress off e-bay today, feels great on, bump looks cute and boobs look fab
which was a nice pick me up seeing as good as all my funds for driving lessons have gone but thankfully I have my test sometime next month, just hope I pass first time

umf · 17/06/2010 12:34

Pretty chirpy here, tho have given up the fight against annoying throat infection and am taking antibiotics. Will inevitably give me upset tummy and thrush. But had been dragging on for 2 or 3 weeks and spread to sinus and now couldn't sleep cos trouble swallowing. TCP and hot lemon just not doing the trick.

Enjoying getting emails from doula encouraging me to think about myself and look after myself. Seems v ironic to pay somebody to do this, but remarkably agreeable anyway. Bought one of those big balls to bounce on - lovely.

cluelessnchaos · 17/06/2010 14:59

off out tonight, I have a posh awards ceremony to go to my work is up for 3 awards and I am the designated driver, I thought I had best have a sleep and slept through the alarm to wake me up to pick up ds from school, the school secretary phoned and asked was I picking him up today, just as well school is a one minute drive down the road.

hmmSleep · 17/06/2010 17:10

Olivetti, I had my 20 week (am 21wks though) scan and check today, mentioned I hadn't really felt any movement yet and was told not to worry. They said I should start feeling movement around now, but not to worry until around 25 weeks, so you have plenty of time yet!

Glad your scan went well babybean. All good here too. The sonographer asked if we wanted to know the sex straight away, we said no but dh and I are both pretty sure we then got a big close up between the legs and saw it was a boy (suprising because I'd been edging towards thinking it was a girl). The sonographer moved position pretty quickly and said at the end she hadn't seen anything to give away sex. Will be interesting to see what pops out in 19 weeks time!

Enjoy your night out clueless.

addictedishavingagirl · 17/06/2010 18:06

hi all, scan went really well, my baby girl was all curled up asleep on her tummy and did not want to co-operate with the sonographer and she did not want her picture taken!

but all is good.

enjoy clueless

glad your scan went well too hmmsleep

hmmSleep · 17/06/2010 18:32

Good to hear happy scan news!! Looking forward to mine v much now. Also cos will allow self to do more of the preparations after it.

Gaga82 · 17/06/2010 21:14

Such exciting scan news! I have mine on Monday, can't wait. Think I felt my first flutter yesterday (19+4) but not sure if it was just wishful thinking!

Sneezed while lying in bed last night and felt like I had ripped my stomach muscles in half! Not ideal with hayfever as it is. Dr told me I couldn't take anything, so have been using the power of positive thought...

What pg exercise classes are people doing? Any recommendations? Always done the high impact classes and bored after a few weeks of swimming, so looking for something else to do.

Fenouille · 17/06/2010 21:34

Ooh, addicted a girl

Congrats to you all on all the good scan results.

bunnygirl80 · 17/06/2010 23:16

Congrats on your girl addicted and to everybody else with good scan news.

Gaga I've been doing antenatal yoga, which has turned out to be much harder than I thought it would be. I also signed up for a pregnancy workout class that's just like Body Attack/Body Pump but all the high impact stuff is done sitting on an exercise ball. It's actually a lot more of a work out than I thought it would be, and it's pretty hilarious trying to coordinate arms and legs and not fall off the ball I'm in Oz though so not sure how you'd find a similar class in the UK

Pidgin · 18/06/2010 07:57

Congrats on happy scans addicted and hmmsleep. Really can't wait for mine next week.

umf, when is yours? (I seem to remember someone else was around same time as me - next Thurs). I'm sorry to hear about your illness, hope the antibiotics do the trick. Where did you get your ball from?

Olivetti I would second those who say not to worry about lack of movements - I know it's annoying though! My friend who's a few weeks ahead of me had loads of movement by my stage and I only get the occasional wiggle... but I figure it's better than being punched in the ribs!

I'm also loving antenatal yoga gaga - v v relaxing and nice to meet other pg women too.

Happy Friday everyone!

mumcha · 18/06/2010 09:53

Hi all hope every1 has a good friday, mine is going to be so busy,my ds1 is having a prom tonight fot their school leaving party .Which he is so excited about ,with the party fire engine picking him up to take him there,.

umf · 18/06/2010 11:07

Pidgin thanks, antibiotics working already . Scan is 6th July.

I bought this ball from the NCT mainly because I had a voucher. V pleased with it. Got this book too - it's ok. A lot of nonsense about microwaves, but the exercises seem fine. I don't know if the DVD's any good, cos every time I put it on I fall asleep.

Booboobedoo · 18/06/2010 11:09

A party fire-engine mumcha? Wow! My DS would have to be back in nappies, he'd be so excited.

Congratulations to all those who've have good news at their scans, and lovely to hear about your girl addicted.

To whoever was talking about hayfever, my GP prescribed me Beconase nasal spray and eye-drops. I'd suggest going to someone else for a second opinion, because several doctors have told me there's no known risk with the topical stuff. (Also I have asthma, and hayfever puts me a high risk of an attack. No way I'm going without my meds!).

Getting very bored with the hardly-any-booze rule. I'm craving Pimms and champagne.

And gin & tonic.

And lager.
