So heres to US and our BABIES!!

May our beans Kick and our nurseries be sorted!
May our scans be amazing and our remaining months be filled with positivity and calmness and last but not least

That's great SH! Is the one in Dec your last then?

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 10:47

yes, last one in dec (if I pass) then I'll have letters after my name!!

Feeling a bit down today - i had a big argument with dd this morning about lying and had to leave her with my mum for the day (who didn't back me up) Then phoned dh to discuss suitable punishments with him and he said I was being too hard. Feeling really emotional at the moment. Have cried all over the office staff already today.

scully · 17/08/2005 11:19

aw shame. what did she lie about? I've found myself being harder on dd since being pregnant, I'm sure it's the hormones and tiredness give you a shorter reaction time.

bonkerz · 17/08/2005 11:26

Hi all, seems we are all suffering abit one way or another.
tiredness here too, and it really does make you snap quicker doesnt it! I have alot of patience (have to in my job) but find i cant cope as well as i did before!
pain in my hips is definately getting worse and is agony at night time, dh thinks im over reacting but last night was awful, i hate not being able to move freely and cant help worrying that if its this bad already how bad will i be in 10 weeks from now! Got hospital next wed so will see consultant then.
When do you get your MATB1 cetificate? I need it to apply for my Maternity Allowance cos i have to do this by 18 th sept at the latest. Who do i talk to about it? dont have midwife again till 14th sept i think so that will be too late!!!
Got a mate coming over for lunch (hoorah adult convesation!!) All mindees have just slept for an hour and a half so have managed a rest but can never sleep cos am panicky something might happen!! Have a stuffy head so may go for a quick walk(thats funny!! QUICK!!!HAHAHAHAHA)

oh dear sh
why don't the blooming hormones STOP tho scully? I was told the second trimester is where you feel radiant blah blah and I feel just as pissed off and tired as at the beginning!
You are not alone.

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 11:51

she's been wetting the bed recently and yesterday she didn't make it to the loo on time and weed on the floor. She then hid her knickers in our washing basket and left the wee on the floor. When we found it she said she hadn't done it. Eventually she admitted to it and we told her it was naughty to lie. This morning she was up before me (which is unheard of) when I asked her why she said she wanted to watch TV. I went into her bedroom and she had wet the bed. I was so angry that only yesterday I had told her it was wrong to tell lies.

I know shes probably embarressed but I was so angry with her.

My mum is taking her to the sea today and I was annoyed that she is getting a treat after being naughty. It didn't help that both my mum and dh said I was being too hard. I don't want to let this issue slide as I consider the fact she lied to be a big problem - am I over reacting and being too emotional/hormonal?????

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 11:52

bonkerz, your MAT B1 comes from your midwife. If you need it before your next appt ring and ask them to leave you one at the surgery reception. I'm sure they won't mind.

ei23mummy · 17/08/2005 11:52

morning!!!
wow loads to catch up on today!!
nemo- iv gotta get my pram on friday!! how exciting is it that its getting really real now!!! yours was a good choice for a double buggy!!
george- about your trip to cornwall and your six weeks to go when you get back to work!!! iv still got twelve weeks to go then!!!
sweetheart- congratulations on your exams arent you sooooo proud of yourself!! youll breeze through the dec one an be all qualified in whatever it is you do so well!!!
bonkerz- you can get your matb1 cert off the doc or the receptionist at the docs. iv had mine since i was 10 weeks gone!!
well now im up to date!! phew!!
i had my 20 week scan yesterday an the bub is perfect in every way!! (my words not the sonographers!!!) it had its legs crossed all the way through the scan tho so we couldnt get a sneaky peak at its sex it doesnt matter tho its more exciting on the day then isnt it??
how is everyone today???

ei23mummy · 17/08/2005 12:00

sweetheart- my friends having probs with her little girl weeing the bed. shes started to wake her up at about 11 before she goes to bed herself and taking her to the loo for a wee. she started this two weeks ago and theres only been three nights since where theres bin any accidents. dont worry about bein too harsh on her cos its hard to stay calm wit all these hormones an havin wet beds to deal with aswell!!

scully · 17/08/2005 12:16

I don't remember feeling quite so hormonal last time as I do this time. I guess every pregnancy is different, but I know we have a lot more going on this time to last time as well, so I feel a lot more thinly spread to deal with it all.
Hard to know what to do SH, your dd shouldn't lie but I guess it's one of those embarassing things that she doesn't want to talk about. Do you think she understands the difference between you being cross about fibbing and not being cross about the wet bed? My dd is toilet trained for the day but still wears a nappy to bed, suppose that's something else I should think about before the baby arrives.......
what joy

ninah · 17/08/2005 12:16

weeing the bed is mortifying so I would leave the lying lesson for something a bit less emotive
I always remember my dad sealed this for me when me and my friend cut off all the fringes from a picnic blanket and he asked did I do it, I said no
he didn't say anything I fessed up later (conscience) and he didn't do anything to punish me for blanket, praised me for telling truth
Can understand why you're angry with her, it's horrid to catch your kids lying. They have to learn somehow and she will learn, she has a lovely mum and dad she knows your values
been ages sending this so excuse if x-posted

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 12:18

thanks ei - it's really not the bed wetting that upsets me - I can deal with that and have told her we are not cross with her for that. But I've tried to explain that because it's wee it needs to be cleaned up and thats why she must tell us.

I'm not sure why she's having wetting problems - we've stopped drinks before bed and make her have a squeeze and it seemed to be working - it's been a while since it happened last.

Please tell me I'm not being a terribly horrible mum. Is it me shouting thats makiong her wet and too affraid to tell me??????

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 12:21

sorry x post's.

Your right ninah - what am I thinking, she must be so upset that she's wet her bed and there is me shouting at her and telling her I'm going to put her toys in the bin - god I'm so horrible

Perhaps now isn't the best time to teach her about lying!!!

ninah · 17/08/2005 12:22

shouting won't make her feel worse, she will feel so bad already
can you tell I was a child who had 'lapses'
of course you are not a bad mum! wait til ds starts night training, I've shouted at him for puking before now THAT is a bad mum!

ei23mummy · 17/08/2005 12:27

youre not a bad mum- sounds like youre a bloomin great one from here sh!! youre dd's prob a bit embarrassed cos she doesnt wanna seem like a little un again- shes a big girl!!!

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 12:27

sorry everyone, I didn't mean to drag this thread down - I'm just so today, which is really unlike me. Bloody hormones!!!

I brought scones and clotted cram last night to celebrate my exam results so I'm gonna take myself off home for one now.

ei23mummy · 17/08/2005 12:31

ninah · 17/08/2005 12:34

but it's really dragging on isn't it.

scully · 17/08/2005 12:36

Good idea SH, about the scones! The joys of parenting hey, hard to know the right way to react all the time, when you usually have a split second to decide whether to lose it or not
Well after my throwing up episode on Friday pm/Sat, I now have dh's cold. Just having a fabulous week for illness in our house!

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 12:37

mmmmm peanut butter and jam on toast!!! My fav!!!

Ninah, I'll be back after lunch - they only release these chains off my desk for an hour!!!

ninah · 17/08/2005 12:40

yes well the end is in sight! with no mat leave in prospect I wonder what I'd do!
see you later then xx

ei23mummy · 17/08/2005 13:49

sorry youre feelin under the weather scully, bloody colds... theyre the worst!!
hope you feel better soon!

sweetheart · 17/08/2005 14:45

Just had the most unhealthy lunch ever. Crisp sandwich followed by a cream tea

Got a txt from my sister (who is with my dd and mum) to say dd is having a fantastic day and loves me lots.

Ninah, I know what you mean. I feel like I'm living in limbo waiting for my mat leave to start. All I seem to do at the moment is work, lay on the sofa and then sleep. The weekends seem to take ages to come round and then dissapear in a flash. If I didn't have my leave to look forward to I'd be feeling very very glum indeed!!!

ei23mummy · 17/08/2005 15:05

sh,how long have u got before your mat leave starts? it seems such a long way off for me! still i suppose being a student i seem to have lots of time off anyway! im in the middle of a five week study block at the mo! just got my assignments to do!
