I also had the same problem Lady but my doc said you can get it again if you had it as a child so she gave me a bloodtest to check I was still immune - which I was - worth checking out...

Can I just verify; by law, we ARE allowed to put a child on the car roof if we have more than two aren't we?

LadyBuzz · 20/05/2010 09:20

thankyou ladies, I have just phoned the docs now and someone is going to get back to me.
Best to be sfae i'm sure!

littlehuman · 20/05/2010 11:01

lady buzz and deedee321

i am trying not to worry but cant help it
basicly the hormones produced by the thyroid are important for the baby's brain developement(especially the 1st trimester), knowing that i ve only starting to be treating for it after about 8/9 weeks its freaking me out.
i hope the scan is able to show this kind of things...

NickiSue · 20/05/2010 13:45

Hi all. Everyone enjoying the heat? I'm not! Sweating like a pig and am onto day 6 of this headache - oh well, am just grateful that all being well (that seems to be my mantra at the moment) I will be bigger over the autumn winter months this time, DS was born in July after a very hot & muggy June/July!

Has everyone got a MW booking in date / scan date now? I have an early scan on Wednesday next week (won't relax until then) and then booking in the day after.

kipperthedog · 20/05/2010 14:42

oooh am jealous you have heat! none here in Cornwall sadly. Have got the headache tho, day 2 for me..

my scan is booked 3rd June, like you said NickSue won't be able to relax properly til its done.

Hope everyone else is well & not suffering too much.

Littlehuman, I can understand you worrying, it's only natural even tho you're trying not to. As the others have said tho they will keep a good eye on you & I'm sure it'll be ok.

Hope no one minds me jumping on the thread, just excited to "meet" other Mum's to be in the same boat

Playingatmotherhood · 20/05/2010 14:44

Hi everyone.

Been away for a week with a very nasty sickness and diarrhoea bug. Felt truly and utterly sorry for myself, couldn't keep a thing down. PG with a 14 month old is hard enough without being ill as well, am over the worst now but am so wiped out. Don't know what I would have done without my Mum round the corner.

Not had my MW apt (or a date for it yet) don't normally get it till 10 wks and won't have a scan for probably another month. Rung them up yesterday to check they had received my gp referal, which they had and said I would be hearing from the this wee, so will be happy to have a date for an apt. Little bit gutted that despite having only just mc'd and therefore not really knowing my dates I still won't get an early scan, I did ask.

Margie - I def have a bump here. Had a clear one for about a week now, even with the sickness bug, even my friends noticed. I am also putting it down to having only recently mc'd.

at kids on roof rack!

deedee321 · 20/05/2010 18:11

littlehuman, I so understand, I would feel exactly the same. Do you think in the circumstances they could give you an appointment with a consultant to explain things clearly? If this is a new condition for you, it is obviously going to be stressing you out, and it is surely in their interest that you are least stressed out as possible. Maybe try to push for that? You just don't want anything unusual happening to you during pregnancy, and if they can put your mind at rest in any way it would be such a good thing. A consultant would know what would show up on scans. I'm so sorry you having this extra worry.

kipper, we have our early scan on the same day! I will be 8 weeks then, how about you? Is yours a private one? We decided just to book one to try to reduce the uncertainty as much as possible!

littlehuman · 20/05/2010 19:47

deedee321 thanks for your support
i am glad i got that mumsnet site cos i dont want to tell anybody yet in case something is wrong with the scan.
the surgery i go to seems to be looking after me well so far(finger crossed0 the GP said she refered me to a encrinologue(or summit like that... lol)to look after me during pregnancy,
i would have regular blood test(every week or 2 , joy... )to keep an eye on this hormone level and to adapt my medication if needed.
you apparently get more than 2 scans during your pg when you ve got what i ve got.
so will see...

BubbaAndBump · 20/05/2010 19:54

I've not even seen the doc yet to let them know I'm pg, but have an appt on Monday

kipper, careylouwho, LadyBuzz (and any others I've missed) - not trying to steal you ladies, but I've also started a due-late-January thread as this one has so many, so if you care to join us there too, it is here
Maybe see some of you over there...

NickiSue · 20/05/2010 20:33

Aww playingatmotherhood - I hope youre feeling better very soon, not good at the best of times but with a young one at home and pregnant on top - well can't be much fun.

Big hugs for you all with worries this week x

Reb01 · 20/05/2010 21:58

playingatmotherhood, poor you it sounds like you've had a rough week, I hope you're feeling better soon.

I had my scan this evening and we saw and heard babys heartbeat which was amazing. Everything is in the right place and about the right size so it's looking good. They couldn't see anything that would cause the bleeding over the past couple of weeks so hopefully things will settle. Very pleased I decided to go ahead with the private scan, its really taken a weight of my mind!

kipperthedog · 20/05/2010 22:09

Oh that's great news for you Reb01, must be such a relief, I guess we're all looking forward to that moment of reassurance with the scans.

Deedee301 my scan is on the NHS, I'll be 7 weeks, it's an early one to confirm dates (as not 100% sure) and cos I've had some bleeding. Have thought about going privately but it's still too early I believe so will wait for that one. Will be thinking of you on that day

bubbaandbump, sounds good, I'll pop over tomorrow when I've got a bit more time, just a quick check-in this eve!

playing, hope you feel better soon.

Good night ladies x

Partyofseven · 20/05/2010 23:05

hi everyone, hope you aren't all suffering too much.

bootle just catching up and I am so sorry to see your news hope you are doing ok x

mamasunshine keep on with the smileys I like them too

No AF from me, a week late tomorrow and two negative tests, so I am going to get a proper test (clearblue or something) tomorrow at shopping, so I will be back to update you all real soon

Have good sleeps 'speak' tomorrow/sat.

LadyBuzz · 21/05/2010 07:05

reb01 thats great news, so glad it went well for you.

partyofseven good luck with your proper test.

seablue · 21/05/2010 08:59

So sorry to hear your news bootle. And I'm glad you're being looked after, littlehuman.

Ironically I have an appointment with the infertility consultant this Wednesday! But I'm going to keep it because it's my first chance to talk about the results of the hsg scan I had back in march that showed I had an arcuate uterus. Which means it has a dip at the top. Nervous because I don't know how severe it is. It can make mc more likely. Gp thinks they may scan me there and then, but that seems unlikely to me! Wish I already had a date for an early scan. Or even a booking in appt!

Hope you're all ok
x

kipperthedog · 21/05/2010 09:08

Seablue I think I might have a uterus like that, they did call it something but can't think what now! It's like a heart shape I think & docs thought both my dc's were breech cos they got stuck & couldn't turn around because of it.

partyofseven, good luck with the test

Does anyone else have mouth ulcers? I didn't have any with my first dc's but this is my second one this time, it's been here a week now & is sooo painful

CLB1 · 21/05/2010 10:58

Hi Ladies,

Haven't been on for ages, lots to catch up on.

Bootlebumtrinket Sending well wishes your way, hope your okay
BubbaAndBump As long as the childseat is securly strapped to the roof rack, I don't see any problems
Partyofseven Good luck with the CB test, fingers and toes crossed

So I have another scan on monday, hopefully we should see something this time as I should be around 7 weeks. It's on the NHS, I called the EPU saying I was having cramping and they booked me straight in. The 1st one was 2 weeks ago but to early to tell anything so they re booked. Had my booking in appt with the dr midwife last monday.

Does anyone know when you should recieve the forms for free prescriptions and dental?

Still feeling queasy most of the time but haven't been sick since wearing the travel sickness bands so must be doing something. Ice pops are great for me at the moment too.

Anybody find that the sickness gets worse with movement?

OneOf8 · 21/05/2010 13:19

Hi - mind if I join?

Am on another thread, but due Jan (exact date tbc) around 7th according to GP

Got booking appt booked, but will be in approx my 11th week. Calmer now as was a bag of nerves since finding out (v. happy, but still a shock as BFN week before), so called to ask if could be moved - no, and no need was the response. Was going to ask if the receptionist needed a minute to find her manners, but asked about the scan instead, and when they do they get booked/by who etc.

Response was "Midwife, which I am not, so save your questions" I responded calmly I apologise for interupting her day, whilst she was working, but thought this was the surgery's reception, and therefore general information line, and given the NHS's guidlines surely the surgery were responsible for ensuring things were on time? She asked if I had any real concerns, otherwise just wait for the appt.

I said I was concerned for her job, and would be putting in a complaint.

I have no symptoms - but hoping could but this down as Pregnancy Rage?

I am really lovely - and as this is my 1st, could really do with the experience of others

Reb01 · 21/05/2010 14:15

Hi OneOf8,

Oh dear, sounds like you've had fun with the receptionist. Funnily enough I had a similar issue with a receptionist who launched into a lecture about how I wasn't entitled to an early scan just because I wanted one, without waiting for me to explain that I'd been referred by my doctor. You should definitely put in a complaint - she sounds awful!

I don't really have any symptoms yet either and my EDD is 5th January. I think things really vary from woman to woman, and also pregnancy to pregnancy from what I read. This is also my first so like you I've been feeling anxious... but excited too

deedee321 · 21/05/2010 14:23

Hello everyone, good to hear the updates. Reb01 that is fantastic, you must be feeling so thrilled just now.

littlehuman, sounds like they are being really supportive and nice, and that should make a big difference.

My toddler has dropped her nap!! The timing!! Have tried repeatedly to persuade her, but her response is "silly mummy, me not sleepy!"...

BubbaAndBump · 21/05/2010 17:02

deedee give your toddler the rule book to read again - naps need to last as long as mum needs them too! My DD1 tried that too and clearly won't read the rule book either - but I do insist on quiet time ...(although that is generally when my white carpet gets painted with dark red nail varnish, my work gets torn to shreds made into pretty wrapping paper, and when she practises the drums my dad bought her last year)

Someone remind me again why I thought having three of the blighters angels might be a good idea??

CLB1 so you think I need a carseat as well as octopus elastic thingies? Darn it...

NickiSue · 21/05/2010 19:23

oneof8 Pregnant or not I'd have been spitting bricks (possibly at the receptionist but that could be hormones in fairness!).
Seriously I would definitely make sure you send a complaint in. That said..... congratulations and welcome to the thread

I hope everyone has a nice (relaxing) weekend planned?

mamasunshine · 21/05/2010 21:23

Hello ladies,

littlehuman - must be very worrying for you, I had no idea that the thyroid could affect pg so much. Have you had the date for your scan yet?

nickisue and kipperthedog - hope the headaches have eased. Makesure you're both drinking enough water especially in this heat!

CLB1 - Good luck for your scan on Monday, hope you get to see more this time As for prescription form, maybe phone the surgery and ask them to have one put by for you to collect?

playingatmotherhood - poor you, I hope you're feeling much better now...you must have felt wiped out. I'm suprised they won't give you an early scan?!!

reb01 - Cograts on your 1st scan going well ...that's great news!

partyofseven -

oneof8 - Welcome and at the receptionist, def. complain!

deedee321 - at your toddler too!! How old is she? My ds1 who,s just over 2 started to drop about 3/4 each wk, however he seems to be napping every day again thank goodness!

I must say I'm loving the heat , I also had ds2 on a really warm June day and felt great but maybe I'm just wierd! I do love to be toasty! Still no more symptoms here apart from tiredness, oh and an occasional spot on my face, but I can live with that! Have a really busy day planned tomorrow, breakfast out, picnic for lunch and bbq at a friends for dinner...v social. Will need Sunday free to sleep

Happy Friday to you all

AsiaMajor · 22/05/2010 10:46

Hi all,

seems like I am a late comer to the thread.

Well, here it goes

AsiaMajor, 35, pg1, EDD 15 Jan 2011

No sickness thank god, but breast are very sore. Otherwise happy as a clam and very excited!!!
