careylouwho · 16/05/2010 16:57

BubbaAndBump, Partyofseven, Gommybear and littlehuman - Congratulations to you all!

littlehuman - good call on making the husband do the work! Sorry you're having loads of symptoms though.

I was feeling ill early last week and then been fine for the past few days but got in the car today and immediately felt sicky and it's not stopped since. Rubbish.

How's everyone else doing?

berrycravings · 16/05/2010 19:03

Hello all,

Careylouwho , I know how you feel, my constant hunger has changed to a constant sicky feeling, if I eat it does pass, but is hard to want to eat. Has made me feel a bit down this weekend, but then remind myself how exciting it all is and how lucky I am...

Got my booking in apt tomorrow, really looking foward to getting in the system, might feel more real then.

Hope everyone else is well. Any one else having vivid dreams and nightmares? That with the needing to pee and eat in the night is reducing my sleep! At least I'm getting prepared for those sleepness nights!

maddyj · 16/05/2010 19:13

I too am experiencing that horrible yucky nauseous feeling most of the time but it seems to get worse early morning and late evening. Anyone tried those pressure point wristbands you can buy? Just had a look on ebay and you can pick them up quite cheaply...I'm going to Portugal for two weeks on 25th may and dreading this sickness ruining my holiday. Any ideas would be welcomed!!!

BootleBumtrinket · 16/05/2010 19:49

Hello All!
Congrats on all the new ladies here. I am sorry I posted and ran but I was on my holidays and tried not to just read forums whenever I encountered some free wifi

I was having a few mild symptoms but now I have started cramping and spotting so I am going to take a break from this board until I have some kind of confirmation about what is happening. I hope to get an early scan this week sometime. I think I will be 8 weeks on thursday but my cycle was a bit all over the place so who knows!

LadyBuzz · 16/05/2010 19:57

Hello all,
BubbaAndBump, Partyofseven, Gommybear and littlehuman, congratulations!

I have been feeling a bit queasy mostly late evening and have been very tired. I do get up to pee in the night but it usually coincides with getting up to DS2 so I don't know if I would wake IYSWIM.

I am really really grumpy though, not for any particular reason I just am, DH is getting in in the neck bless him.

Also I seem to be rejecting my piercings, I have a few and they are all flaring up and swelling, I can see them coming out before too long!

berrycravings enjoy your booking in appointment

My friend swore by the wrist bands in her pg, have not tried them myself though!

hackneyzoo · 16/05/2010 19:58

Bootlebum, I hope you feel better and get your scan and the cramping and spotting stops.

Am generally lurking a bit as have no energy to post...completely feeling sick as a dog since friday and totally exhausted...felt a bit down about it yesterday as am not sure how I am going to get through 9 months of pregnancy, working f/t and running around after DD and DS....I know it will get better once the sickness stops...but that's not for ages!DH is being pretty good and has taken over cooking duties.

Partyofseven I have a january baby too, but jan 09 . Congratulations to all the ladies on the ever growing list and hope everyone isn't feeling too rough.

LadyBuzz · 16/05/2010 19:58

x-posts, good Luck bootlebumtrinket hope it goes well.

FunkyMonkey1983 · 16/05/2010 21:20

littlehuman I'm in Scotland - the Highlands, whereabouts are you from? I also have every pregnancy symptom possible! I'm hoping the sickness will pass soon!

CLB1 · 17/05/2010 12:00

Hay All,

Had my booking in appt today, quite boring, just filling in forms and things.

Mamasunshine Thanks for the advice on the sickness bands, got some on Sat and they are great, still fell queesy but havent been sick since which is a bonus MaddyJ I would definately recommend them for you.

FunkyMonkey Yes Ive been feeling very sick all day long, but only vomiting once or so a day. I now eat every hour and snacks in the night, try the sickness bands.

VeryCherry Congrats on the scan, you glad you kept it now, I'll hopefully be there on Monday, 24th, fingers crossed.

I don't have a due date yet so can't really join the list. Dr's midwife suggests 27-30 december but scan last week said 3 - 6 jan

FunkyMonkey1983 · 17/05/2010 13:33

I've ordered some sickness bands. At this point I'm willing to try anything!

littlehuman · 17/05/2010 15:52

hey funkymonkey i am in edinburgh..
not very near ;-(

mummychicken · 17/05/2010 19:13

Not sure that this is s symptom but I've just eaten a yorkshire pudding with some raspberry jam!
I wasn't craving it, but it was just sitting there as a leftover from tea and I thought "it's the same as pancake batter, what can I have with it...."

It was REALLY nice!!!

deedee321 · 17/05/2010 21:19

littlehuman I am in Scotland too, in Ayrshire.

I have had great fun today convincing myself I have probably got toxoplasmosis from my cat...called NHS 24 and their advice was avoid touching the cat again during your pregnancy!! Slightly over-the-top I am thinking. Anyone else searching out things to worry about, what is the MATTER with me, was not like this last time!

NickiSue · 18/05/2010 06:19

deedee321 Sorry you're having such a worrying time. I'm the same this time after m/c-ing in the past (but before DS was born in 2006 and I wasnt so worried when pg with him?). I worry about everything at the moment. I have a "good" day when my nausea is reduced or disappears and am convinced I've had another missed MC, in short.... I'm going INSANE lol! I hope this first trimester goes quickly for you (and all of us!) and you feel less anxious soon x

PS - What are you supposed to do with the cat then lol, have it fostered out until baby is born?

mamasunshine · 18/05/2010 08:37

Hello, well had a lovely weekend with the slightly better weather, although dh worked straight through But the boy's and I had a lovely time rolling around in the sunshine and showers! Not really noticing the tiredness at the moment apart from evenings and when I'm at work Not really having any symptoms Although watch this space as with previous pregnancies have always suffered from week 6, so any day now! Oh, I am very hungry for carb's though...and very worried about how big I will be by the end of this pregnancy

Welcome and Congratulations gommybear, littlehuman and bubbaandbump

partyofseven - Congratulations of AF not coming Have you done a test yet?

bootlebumtrinket - I'm sending you lots of hugs, hope you're ok and really hope the scan goes well.

ladybuzz - Dito on the grumpiness...my poor dh, and I'm likely to be this way until the LO is at least 4 months old !!

hackneyzoo - how old are your dc's? F/T work, pregnant and 2 dc's must be a killer . I worked F/T when ds1 was 9 months, I was 3 months pg, a p/t student...I lasted 4 months was HARD so really feel for you.

CLB1 - fab that bands are helping you Hope you're not sufferening too much.

mummychicken - yorkshire with jam = yummy When I was at college I worked in a kitchen, one of my jobs was to make the yorkshires. I used to eat them warm with jam and squirty cream

deedee321 - poor you...hope you're feeling better today? Although how you'll avoid touching your cat for another 8 months ??!!!

RobynLou · 18/05/2010 10:05

Hello, I got a BFP yesterday, so vvv early days, but all being well we should have a baby around the 24th Jan!

I've got a DD who's 3 in august.

splodge77 · 18/05/2010 11:05

hi all,
littlehuman, i have a cat too. try not to worry too much, i think you are not supposed to empty the litter tray but i'm sure handling the cat itself is ok. cor blimey, doing my cats food makes me feel sick though! it really stinks!

Does anyone know when you are meant to sign up for ante natal classes? It seems v early to be thinking about such things (i'm due 11/1) but i've heard that NCT ones get booked up really quickly in london. We are hoping to move house before baby comes so i'm not sure whether to sign up where we live now or where we are hoping to move to....or should i just wait a bit! What do people think?

RobynLou · 18/05/2010 11:08

sign up where you're going to be - the support after the birth from your nct group is the best bit of the classes in my experience, I still see my antenatal group most weeks, and now we're all having number 2
as for when you book, just give them a ring and ask, they'll be happy to tell you when to ring back if it's too early
x

FunkyMonkey1983 · 18/05/2010 11:17

I was having a terrible time with sickness but I've got the bands and they seem to help, along with drinking lots of Orange Lucozade whenever I feel queasy and eating ginger biscuits.

The nausea hasn't gone away completely but at least I don't spend half the day with my head down the toilet bowl!

PrincessAli · 18/05/2010 12:26

Hey Little human.

I am in Scotland. Glasgow.

Congrats to you. Feeling very sick today so off for a lie down.

xxx

BubbaAndBump · 18/05/2010 13:23

Hey all (wave)

Feeling vaguely nauseous and boobs are ridiculously sore (something to do with pregnancy, or maybe them being used as jabbing cushions from my two DDs' elbows and feet!)

mamasunshine I'm with you on the six-week onslought - both previous pregnancies were just the same - not looking fwd to it (except am really, in a sado-masochistic way!)

btw, I've started a late-Jan thread too - not trying to steal anyone, but by the length of the list above, thought it might be easier to keep track...

BubbaAndBump · 18/05/2010 13:24

onslaught

FunkyMonkey1983 · 18/05/2010 13:57

I've been drinking loads of Lucozade as it helps with the sickness, however my sister told me pregnant women aren't supposed to drink it and her midwife told her off for doing so! Apparently it's the high glucose that's not good.

Has anyone heard anything similar to this?
