Well I think I have found the answer to restless legs... cold shower on the legs in the night. Went straight back to sleep afterwards both times in the night - hurray! Have had a headache for 24 hours now though, any answers?? Paracetomol does nothing... Got my triple test tomorrow which I am dreading, wish I'd cancelled really. Hope everyone else doing OK.

I got my blood test results back on Saturday and I'm low risk so no further tests needed. Also got my date for my next scan which is next Thursday!

My energy levels are also starting to get better (eventually!) so I've been cleaning like a mad woman!

mamasunshine · 02/08/2010 13:47

ladybuzz - I bought a pack of maternity bed protector sheets and have been cutting then to fit car seat! It is v tiring with 2 dc's and pg...and I wanted 4! Did have a look at the ebay prams just need to extra cash 1st!
macmomo - sounds like you're having fun
mrsfrisby - hope triple test went well? Is that the blood test? Do you have to wait long for results?
littlehuman - happy wedding anniversary How lovely of your dh...my dh pops to the closest garage and tries to fob some droopy flowers on me every time
funkymonkey - great news on results

I've got some energy back too, although did far too much on the weekend and completely wore myself out! Joined a gym last night so will be attending some classes this week-no excuses now! Went for a bbq in a woods last night...was great fun with the kids running riot! DS having 1st day at nursery with no nappies...took in 5 spare sets of pants and trousers! My hormones are still rife, keep going mad with dh over the silliest things sometimes. Anyone else turned into a mad woman at times?

littlehuman · 02/08/2010 17:18

hey funkymonkey seems to be all god for u ! gr8!

mamasunshine i am sure i ll get droopy flowers for the 2nd year too lol(i already get them for valentines day ahaha).
i was kind of mad b4 being pg so i cant really see any change there! :-)

Hi all, hope you are all well. interesting to hear people's thoughts on prams / pushchairs etc. gosh i haven't even started to think about all that stuff yet!

I feel sooo much better these days thank goodness tho I have developed thrush which isn't too pleasant - apparently v common in pregnancy boo!!
Midwife v efficient though and has given me stuff to sort it out and also sending me to a dietician to try and improve things with my IBS. (something the bloody GP never thought to do!)

Still look like i've eaten too many pies rather than having a defined baby bump but found some v comfy maternity trousers in the jojo maman bebe sale for ten quid. Bargain! Not sure if it is a nationwide sale but worth a look if so. Off to the Edinburgh festival today, can't wait!!

littlehuman · 03/08/2010 13:46

hi splodge off to the festival too!

WalkTheDog · 04/08/2010 21:23

hi
Been awol as had still been feeling so lousy. Am now 17+5. Finally feeling more normal. Had a very bad week 16 when all my symptoms got worse- sick twice, feeling sick almost constantly, dizzy, headaches, visual migraines twice and so tired, so after that anything feels good!

Waiting for results of blood test, but midwife reckoned if I had had no phone call by last Friday things should be fine, unpatiently waiting for the letter. Second scan due in three weeks

Have started going through our house and trying to sort stuff and remove what we don't need. Still stuff in boxes from our house move at the beginning of the year.

Sadly our older dog died just over a week ago. He was only slightly ill for 2 days, then got worse overnight. He died peacefully between me and OH as we waited in car outside vets for our appointment. Vet gut reaction was he might have had a tumor that just suddenly reached a peak, as he had been very healthy. Would have loved baby to have met our handsome boy, but we will have plenty bedtime stories about him to tell

Will go check up on everyones news

travispickles · 05/08/2010 09:14

Hi all,

Just had results of triple test - 1:410 which is low and my 16 week apt with the consultant went well. I cried at hearing the heartbeat as had convinced myself that there was something wrong (typical me!). Sorry to hear about your dog walkthedog, but nice to know you were there with him at the end. Hope all you lot at the festival had a great time, went two years ago and loved it. Off to Kos today, so will miss keeping up but will be in touch on my return. (The artist formerly known as Mrs Frisby)x

littlehuman · 05/08/2010 13:40

sorry walkthedog ... i feel 4 u having 2 cats(one older suffering from diabetes):-(
you ll have to be pushthepram instead...

HopingCatPlusThree · 05/08/2010 15:40

I've not had the best couple of days, but just wanted to thank littlehuman for giving me a little giggle. I LOVE the idea of pushthepram

Work a bit rubbish, looks like company may be going into administration, and I'm struggling with dizziness and light-headedness which MW could not give me a reason for except to say it's hormonal. But I got to hear heartbeat again when I went to ask about the dizziness, and now I've completely changed my mind and think I'm having a girl. Only 2 weeks til I find out and I can't wait. DD is 3 and she's convinced it's a girl. She wants to call it Peppa (guess what her favourite TV show is!)

Hope everyone feeling ok. It's a bit quiet on here at the moment, but I imagine everyone's busy/looking after kids/going on holiday.

mummychicken · 05/08/2010 16:59

splodge With DS I felt VERY bullied into buying a travel system which turned out to be a complete waste of money - I rarely put the car seat onto the pram. The people in the shop kept saying "What is your lifetsyle like?" I don't bloody know - I've never had a kid before.
I would buy a fixed new 0-4 carseat, wouldn't bother with it as an infant carrier as the carseat thing and baby way a bloody ton. I'd buy a pram from ebay or car boot!!

Hope every one is well - I;m just back from camping - had to get up 5 times one night for a wee!! I thought that was meant to stop in teh 2nd trimester!!!

WalkTheDog · 05/08/2010 19:38

thanks travispickles and littlehuman. Like the new name idea! We still have another dog, so can still be walkthedog while I pushthepram Talking of prams we might be getting a hand me down, but have been looking to see if there are any which are properly suitable for rough path walking as that is where we walk the dog everyday. A lot pretend, but are not good enough for what we need.

Hopingcatplusthree, have you had your haemoglobin checked? Mine was very good at first appt, but as I had one bad day of dizziness MW suggested it be retested - it was fine.

OH back from Edinburgh festival, they spent only £8 on 3 shows! But then too much on booze

LadyBuzz · 05/08/2010 19:42

mummychicken I second that am a weakling and struggled with an empty seat never mind one with a baby in also it is not recommended to have the baby in the car seat for longer than 2 hours at a time.

The one thing I will say though. both my babies have been quite big and didn't fit in the 'pram' bit for very long, I bought a new pushchair with DS2 that faced me as I hated DS1 facing away from me when he was little, DS2 faced me until about 3 months ago when he decided he would rather see what was going on and started hanging out of the side

walkthedog poor thing sorry to hear that.

I have my 16 week bloods next week and my scan in just under 4, AND DH has agreed to find out the flavour!

Still feel like crap most of the time, I really thought it would have eased by now!

littlehuman · 06/08/2010 11:10

and dont remember what it was like to have small boobs!they better stay as they are after the birth :-)

lilllysa · 06/08/2010 12:14

Hi All!!

Totally lost this thread (have been lurking and kept meaning to post)

Hope everyone is doing well and getting the results they want back from tests xx

I'm now 15+6 and HUGE! People keep asking when I'm due!! Blush

Dont get any kind of 16week check here so now have to go all the way till Sept 15th till I get any kind of interaction again :( Booo

Anyways hopefully I'll keep up this time x

WalkTheDog · 06/08/2010 19:18

lillysa I'd be quite glad if some said something about my bump, I think either all my neighbours are too polite or just thinking I am getting porky!

WalkTheDog · 09/08/2010 11:07

Had great news, blood test result came back as low risk, we were prepared for it to be at least medium as I am 39 and I know age can skew the results.

It's very wet here, again, today. Gonna have to find a decent winter jacket with plenty room for expansion.

Jobi1 · 09/08/2010 11:33

Hello, I'm pretty much new here as not been on for ages, can I join your club?

I am 35, have 1 little boy who is 3 in December and this is my 3rd pregnancy. Had a miscarriage in March and pregnant again straight away - it took us nearly 18 months to get pregnant first time so we weren't inclined to wait.

So now I'm 19+2 and very relieved. Scan is a week on friday, can't wait for that. We are having a schedule c section this time as last time was awful and don't want to go through it again, not to mention advised not to go there! So although I'm due 1st January I'm hoping for little one to be rbought into the world just before christmas.

Jo

hi funky monkey how exciting!cant wait friday i ll be half way too
are you gonna find out the sex?

has anyone ever used or thinking of using reusable nappies? Are they good and reliable enough?

FunkyMonkey1983 · 09/08/2010 14:04

littlehuman DH doesn't want to find out the sex and he said he didn't mind if I found out. I've decided to wait as I wouldn't be able to contain it if I knew and he didn't. Are you finding out?

I'm thinking about using resuables too so would be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on them. I've been doing lots of research and think I will go for terry nappies.

sarrita · 09/08/2010 15:08

Jobi1 welcome.

FunkMonkey that's great! I don't seem to have a date for my 20 week - hmmmm.

Not finding out the sex as there are so few surprises - I would rather wait.

Sister and one of bestest friends just had second babies last Tuesday. I am very happy for them both. Friend gave birth in 5.5 hrs - eek, but wow!

littlehuman I used reusables for DS. We used a laundry service from the start - but they went bust, so ended up with their stock washing them myself, which didn't turn out that bad. We had pre-folds with "pro-wrap" covers. They dry out quick and seemed to wash very well. I prefer them to the ones that pop together as they dry quick and and you don't get wetness drawn up around the sides.

DS was out of nappies at 2 yrs 2 mnths. He was completely dry in two weeks, day and night. I think there is something in it as they are more aware of their weeing and pooing.

sarrita · 09/08/2010 15:25

Oh and getting little kicks!!!!! Yeee ha. Grin
