Hi all, not feeling any movement yet but my tummy is so gurgly anyway i'm not sure i would know how to distinguish baby movements from gassy gurgles. (nice!) Sorry to hear you are still feeling crappy berrycravings Hope it passes soon. We have already booked NCT classes at extortionate price - over £300 in london! But its lucky we did because at my booking appt the midwife said the NHS ones are all full so i couldn't go to them anyway! i need SOME instruction as i'm totally clueless.

have been a bit stressed about finances lately, but OH and i have decided not to try and buy a flat before baby comes but to stay renting which is a relief - prob means we won't be able to buy for years due to my reduced earnings/time out to look after baby but sod it. Just hope we can find a landlord that won't mind cat and baby!!

MacMomo · 27/07/2010 15:53

Lurking on the thread, but with nothing much to say. SO glad to read everyone's appointments and scans are going well. Tummy seems huge now, but so does backside, so I think I can put most of it down to consumption of calories and lack of exercise.

Living in a campervan for 3 weeks, currently in Spain (DH kitesurfs) - it's 35 deg and all I want to do is sleep (and eat)! Just finished listening to the Spanish couple next door shag themselves to death for the 4th time in 24 hrs (very squeaky suspension!) which has gone from amusing to showing off now.

NHS have 'lost' my blood test results! No I can't pop in and have some more done, actually. Does anyone know if I can have them done again at 20 weeks or if I have now missed out? My nuchal scan was 1.9, but I swear the sonographer gave up trying to measure it in the end and just wrote down a number. She even said it meant nothing and it was all about the bloods.

Very pleased that I can now claim wind is the Prawn kicking. Sounds a bit nicer .

littlehuman · 27/07/2010 16:15

hi
i gonna sound completly clueless but what are NCT classes?
i know i wont be going to them cos according to your posts is really expensive(and since i never heard of this b4 i not gonna miss something i dunno..)but i am just curious

deedeethe 1st time i felt little human was at bout 14 weeks but its more and more distinct as the weeks go on.

mrsfrisby · 27/07/2010 17:15

Hey lucky you Macmomo! Mind you, am going to Kos next week and Majorca the week after (don't ask - no we can't afford it, but figure it may be the last for a while!!). How are you handling the heat? Find I am much hotter and whingeier in the heat at the mo. Agree with you about feeling huge, am going walking every day and trying to watch food intake but the first 3 months have done the damage methinks.Enjoy your holiday

MacMomo · 27/07/2010 22:03

found 40 degrees nearly killed me, thank god for air con! looking forward to heading north again tomorrow, though not to a whole day on the motorway. I hope Kos will not be too hot for you, love the Greek islands, Majorca too. Drink lots of water! Also, I am more sensitive to sunburn than previously (normally very resistant but not anymore) so watch out for that.

sarrita · 27/07/2010 23:44

Littlehuman I just went to NHS anti-natals with DS and it was fine. I went to a pregnancy swim class and a pregnancy yoga class and met some nice Mums-to-be, all of whom are still friends now (DS is 3.5 yrs). National Childbirth Trust classes are expensive, and a bit of a social club as far as I can tell - and there are lots of nice Mums who don't go.

MacMomo hope neighbours have tired themselves out by now. Anything larger than 3mm is of concern with a nuchal - so I would take comfort with your 1.9.

Stenogirl Highlands were beautiful, and trip coincided with stopping feeling sick - so that's been good. And it is true, everyone does end up with a Maclaren, so I would beg, steal or borrow a pram type buggie (cozy, goes flate, etc) for the first 6 months, and then invest is a good Maclaren Techno.

Urrgh! Missed 16 week MW appointment. But didn't know I had it. I don't have it written down anywhere. But then I did have v low BP last midwife appointment, and nearly passed out when she took my blood - so maybe I just forgot, missed her telling me? I really want to hear the heart beat to reassure me that it is still there. No showing and not feeling any kicks .

littlehuman · 28/07/2010 12:04

17+5 still no sign of my next scan , nor my blood test result...

having a pg brain today
, for the 1st time in my life forgot to set my alarm , had to rush to be on time to the class i was supposed to teach,
there was already a other teacher there
when i went home , i checked my diary and realised that i was supposed to be teaching in a other pool today...(and on the top of that my scooter stand snapped and i now got to lean it on a wall until it get fixed...)

its all good

mamasunshine · 28/07/2010 12:19

Hello...wow what a catch up I've just had to do will need a lie down after this!

Welcome and congrats to all the new ladies and a huge congrats to jan2011mum what a huge suprise for you GG cup !
Great news about SMP hopingcat+3
ladybuzz - sorry to hear about your problems with support for VBAC.
CLB1 - hope thing's with your dh and mil are better? I'm on consultant led care but I still see a midwife for all usual appointments. I see consultant every 4 weeks for check and scan on top of all the others. If any probs these increase!
sarrita - with you on the breasfeeding mammoth appetite I can physically eat more than anyone (and I'm ususally the smallest) around me for the 1st 6 month bf!
berrycravings - well done on the exercise. I really really need to start back up..thinking pilates, yoga and aquanatal, just need to do it!
superbusy superparty! You sound busy busy...how on earth are you managing with being pg? I am in awe Big congrats on scan and you too crumblequeen
margie32 - your bleed must have been v scary ..poor you, hope nothing else has happened.
beaufies - your scan sounds amazing! Finger's crossed all is as it should be on the 16 wk scan.
littlehuman - any news on scan date yet?
stenogirl - Buggies...I have 4 ,,oh and 4 slings and have been looking at more, I'm obsessed! I must admit it's lovely to have a proper pram to lie baby flat, then have baby facing you I couldn't do that with ds2 as neede a phil and teds. The maclaren's are useful to have later if you're not a big walker.

Sorry, I've prob missed loads, but tried my best! Have had a virus over the weekend, was v poorly but feeling a bit brighter now. Have only put on 2lb's so far I really don't need to put on much this time. I weigh 1.5stone more than I did before my 1st pg
My scan is 6th sept, and will def be finding out the sex, I need to make choosing a name a little easier! Have been feeling flutterings

mamasunshine · 28/07/2010 12:27

...for a week or so now. Feeling really excited although I really don't know how we'll ever get out, having 3 under 3?! I walk prob about 4-6 miles a day and can't see a just 3 yrs old being able to do that?!! Have even look at some massive triple buggies , but thinking will just have to use a sling and drive more than I like to for a while Going on holiday for a week in August to a greek island I think...not sure if definate yet but hope so!

crumblequeen · 28/07/2010 13:36

Only 13+2!

Glad people are starting to feel things now. Too early for anything here yet but I am annoyingly too fat for normal trousers and my old maternity trousers all too big at the moment, so sat around the house in elastic waisted things! Actually sat around the house a lot as just started potty training DS this week, which is going pretty well although we must be due some accidents of the non-wee variety I feel (I am hoping they happen at the weekend when DH here to clean up!)

My scan is 14 Sept and still undecided about finding out sex - already have shortlist of names from last time so thats not too traumatic, and may need elective CS so not sure I want to know birth date and sex.

We have bugaboo "proper" pram which I will need to get a buggy board for DS and a maclaren which I keep in car for shorter trips into town for example (but only started using that from about 18mth). DS has a balance bike which he can get up to local swings on so thats useful and I will probably keep sling under pram in case DS has urgent need to rest and he can then get in pram.

Jealous of the lovely holidays everyone has been having, and due to have. That was defintely one of the costs to cut when I stopped work but we have been able to manage a short break at Center Parcs every year, and DS is in his element there with the freedom to roam around!

Hoping everyone continues to grow well! Looking forward to the 20 week scans starting!

littlehuman · 28/07/2010 13:43

called the hospital.
got a date on the 19th of august, ages away...i ll be 21 weeks then.
not even in my hospital as they got no appt available near where i live. even more now

LadyBuzz · 28/07/2010 14:20

mamasunshine if you are seriously considering a triple look on the Adventure buggy website - loads of great ideas on there without having a massive side by side.

I am a pramoholic , I am currently watching no 12 on ebay! - I must add I don't still have them all (although I do have 5) but will sell 1 if I get this new one, Most have been doubles I am yet to find one I like hence the 'new' one on ebay - ooh that is shocking i've never counted before!

littlehuman glad you got your scan date, sorry you seem to be getting messed about.

I feel quite lucky to live where I do, theres no choice of hosp for me but it is never busy to the point of turning people away!

Hope everyone else is well!

CardyMow · 28/07/2010 20:31

I am trying to choose between the M&P sola or the Obaby zynergy condor 6s...Both of which are exceedingly expensive, but hey ho, it's the fourth (and last) one, and (stamping feet) I want a carrycot, as I've never had one before! The problem is, the Sola is £350 with the carrycot, but I really don't like the green one that is the boys colour, and I'm not over-keen on the dark purple for the girls. I absolutely adore the pale blue AND the lilac on the Obaby one, but it is £450...

CardyMow · 28/07/2010 20:32

OH and I have my 16wk MW appointment on Monday next week.

superparty · 28/07/2010 22:09

14+5

Hey all hope you are all well.

Been very busy here, I got a really bad headache/migraine on sunday and its still lingering although not as bad now, it was soooo bad it made me actually vomit everytime I had anything, even water. On top of that DS went to greece to see gp for a week and I promised I'd decorate his room, but I was too lasy last week and then to ill this week, he is due back early hours ofthe morning, luckily I have a wonderful mummy who has been everyday to help me, and dd whos 8 has been my baby minder, sp we put finishing touches ABOUT 5.30PM this evening. phew!!!!!!

Off on hoilday for 12days camping in devon, so busy getting everyones clothes washed and ready, no doubt i'll forget something with my pg brain.

TTFN XX

littlehuman · 29/07/2010 10:28

good luck superparty with all your camping organisation!

mrsfrisby · 29/07/2010 12:31

Hi all! Just wondering - is anyone else suffering insomnia? I am waking up every night and then get restless legs and find it hard to get back to sleep... I find I have to eat some cereal and then try to go back off, which took over two hours last night. Could do without this for the rest of the pregnancy!! Anyone any tips/ ideas?
Thanks

HopingCatPlusThree · 29/07/2010 12:38

Hi all,

Had 16 wk mw appt on Tuesday. Was lovely to hear heartbeat, but having been so convinced at last appointment that this is a boy I am now not sure. Have never asked at 20 week scan before, but this time I really want to know! Scan is 3 weeks today so I'm counting down the days. Am a bit worried that I'll get there and they won't be able to tell me.

We've already bought new pram, out of necessity rather than because we wanted to. We've already got a LoolaUp with buggy board, which I really love and would recommend to anyone who wants easy to use travel system and wants a carry cot as well. We actually hardly used carry cot as DS didn't like it, but I think it was just that he wriggled to the edges too much. When this LO arrives though, DS will still be only 22 months so too young for buggy board. So we've bought a Mothercare double buggy to get us through the first few months, then we'll stick it on ebay and go back to using the Loola and buggy board. We struggled to find a double buggy that would fit through our front door! All the side by side Maclarens were too wide.

Hope everyone who is off on holiday has a good time. We're getting bathroom re-done in August. Not as exotic and relaxing as a nice holiday, but I suppose I'll appreciate it once it's finally done.

readyornot2011 · 29/07/2010 23:12

mrsfrisby I have had some trouble sleeping, just can't get comfortable. But my top tip, might sound odd but it works for me; put a pillow between your knees. I read it on Mumsnet and thought it sounded daft but it really worked for me. If I'm really bad I also hug a second pillow. (Used to hug DH but I just get too warm now) Anyway try it... it may help

mamasunshine · 30/07/2010 09:06

crumblequeen - I started potty training ds1 yesterday too. He's 2.4 but seems to have all the 'ready for it' signs. How oldis your ds? How has it been for you? Yesterday was day 1 and we had nothing in a potty/toilet! All in pants . Got to nap time and I didn't know what to do so put in in a nappy Have to go into the bank later so dreading that! Going to buy a waterproof sheet for nap times and pull ups for bed time I think. Although I really feel as though I have no idea what I am doing!
littlehuman - annoyed on your behalf! But at least you have a date now
ladybuzz - no12 ...I thought 4 was bad . Have looked at the ABC one you mentioned (vvvv expensive 1000pounds?!) and have looked at the T3 jogger too about 1/2 the price. They are vvv heavy before you even put the babies in... 53lbs(3st11!!!) Which is v off-puuting, although I would def lose my baby weight May buy one if something comes up on ebay to get us through winter etc.
superparty - hope you're feeling better? And hope you have a nice holiday
mrsfrisby- def no insomnia here, my ds's tire me out so much I could sleep through anything come 10pm!

crumblequeen · 30/07/2010 13:25

mamasunshine DS 2.4 as well and I have thought he was ready for a while, I just didn't have a quiet time we could stay at home for a few days. Its actually gone really well (sorry!) - 5 days now and the only accident at home was a wee that started on floor but finished in potty and have had two wet pants at park on our first outing. We have been out today to museum and he has a wee in the toilet before we went in then told me during his lunch he needed a wee so we took potty outside cafe. I am not even thinking about sleeps yet though - still in nappy and I think he will be for another year as he wees so much in the night!

mamasunshine · 30/07/2010 15:59

crumblequeen - managed to get around town for 2.5hrs and no accidents Although no wees in potty/loo either! Has had all accidents at home today. Have bought him a potty book with magnetic chart which he likes the look of! he just needs to do a wee in the right place to get a 'reward' now!

Well, I'm totally worn out. Pushed the dbl maclaren into town and back and had forgotten how much harder work it is than the phil and teds! Think should stick to P&T for rest of pregnancy! I have a guest coming tomorrow for the night and have sooooo much housework to do too oh, just want to go to bed...and there's dinner too (is it so bad to have take out 2 nights in a row?!)

Hope everyone's well and has nice plans for the weekend?

deedee321 · 30/07/2010 17:55

I am trying to potty train dd as well, with no success yet! She sits obediently on potty but tells me cheerfully "it won't happen, mummy"!!!

Got my scan date today - seems ages to wait, is 26th august, but am really pleased to have a date to look forward to!

LadyBuzz · 30/07/2010 18:57

mamasunshine there are a couple on ebay at the mo i think!

Have you seen the wetec seat protectors ( i think they have them in mothercare) quite cheap and a total god send, I had 1 in the car seat and one in the pushchair. Saves stripping the seats whole covers off if the have a mishap! Good luck to you all!

I'm knackered at the mo, DH is working away and I didn't realise it would take so much out of me looking after 2 dcs whilst pg - roll on bed time!

MacMomo · 30/07/2010 21:10

Listening to Euro-trash dance music from the kiddies disco (no, wait, they're all adults). Wearing elasticated waist skirt, Simon Cowell-high. Sober. Holidays ain't what they used to be. Hey maccarena! Hope you're all having sunshine.
