bunnybaby I totally know how you must have felt DS1 was 16 days late and was born by emcs after a failed induction - he just did not want to be born

littlehuman · 08/07/2010 12:30

mamasunshine · 08/07/2010 12:33

Gulp...littlehuman you've just made that very realistic for me - nearly 1/2 way through!!! Now I'm scared

SaraL77 · 08/07/2010 13:36

Yes mamasunshine & superparty I've got a scan date for 20th July- after problems with appointments to see the midwife, then paperwork lost en route to the hospital, then midwife on holiday, followed up by dozens of phone calls I finally got it booked in (Do other countries have this problem??) I'll be 13 1/2 weeks- just within the deadline to get the nuchal fold test. Am peeved about it but hey nothing I can do- they're going to make me wait another 2 weeks before I can find out if my baby is thriving ok. sigh. And I have recovered from being ill but nausea never seems to go! hay ho, I know I'm not the only one :-)

SaraL77 · 08/07/2010 13:38

oh Just got the smiley thing

littlehuman · 08/07/2010 13:57

stenogirl · 08/07/2010 14:43

Week 15.

Yay littlehuman halfway there - I like the sound of that!

My tummy is flat in the morning but at night it's huge and hard - just wind
My fella got me a t-shirt made saying UP THE DUFF - I love it!

Welcome SaraL77 and hope you stick around Seomum . I have read other threads and it can be kinda scarey what people say to each other... I'm obsessed with threads about breastfeeding and controlled crying and taking notes in a notebook so I can be prepared...well if ya can ever be prepared!

I'm so tired and pimply at the moment and really warm at night. I bought a new 4.5 tog (what is a tog?!) duvet and it is better. Don't know what to do about the pimples. I've tried exfoliating and changing pillowcases regularly.

I'm convinced I'm having a boy, only cos I always wanted to be the mother of sons. My fella wants a girl, says boys are "smelly"!!

mrsfrisby · 08/07/2010 15:36

Hi Stenogirl - I also think it's a boy. Definitely looks like a boy in the photo, if you can say that when it's only a few inches ig and most of that is head!!

mrsfrisby · 08/07/2010 15:36

big

stenogirl · 08/07/2010 15:59

my scan piccie looks like a girl according to friends... they say the face outline is "pretty"

based on old wives tales, I'm thinking boy.
I don't like any girls' names either! I even read somewhere eating cereal increases the chances of a boy so I have special k every day. Oh I do love silly superstitions and daydreaming!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 08/07/2010 17:22

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well.
Went for first scan this morning and cried at the heartbeat, didn't expect to be so emotional. The thing is my EDD has been altered, by a month! I'm now due 10th Feb and feel bit disappointed as really thought I was around 13 weeks and I'm only 9. So happy everything is okay though.
Would it be okay to stick around here? I feel at home with you lot!

mrsfrisby · 08/07/2010 17:58

Course you can Needtosleep!! I felt like that at the heartbeat, and was amazed when he/she did a leap at the sound/vibration of the photo being taken. So glad all is OK... there was a girl waiting for her 20 week scan when I was having my 12 week one, and she was ashen with worry. I can only imagine!

littlehuman · 08/07/2010 18:14

with all your comments, i am off to have a better look at my scan's photo to see if it looks like a boy or a girl lol

stenogirl · 08/07/2010 18:16

Anyone saying "goodbye" to things or thinking oh I'll never do that again?
Maybe our already-mums can allay my bimbochildless fears!!
I tried on favourite white jeans - alas they don't fit so I actually kissed them and said goodbye. Can you wear white jeans when you're a mum... Liz Hurl-ey does...
Also wore high patent slingbacks on a girlie night out - Pelvis must be out of line cos it felt weird and precarious walking in them. I fear I may never wear them again (sob)

NeedToSleepZZZ · 08/07/2010 18:17

Thank you mrsfrisby, it's so amazing isn't it, I didn't know you could love someone so much without having met them. It was lovely when I was in the waiting room as a woman came out having just discovered the sex and was so happy.
The best thing is that I get to have an extra scan in 3 weeks now!

LadyBuzz · 08/07/2010 18:33

stenogirl of course you can wear white jeans - I couldn't walk in heels until after DS2 was born and now I have some fabulous 5 inchers
Things change but in a very good way!

mrsfrisby · 08/07/2010 19:18

Although my feet (well, foot - the left one) seems to have got wider, as I went to buy some new sensible shoes for walking the length and breadth of Paris in the company of 38 teenagers and found that I was struggling to get left trotter in anything!! Am also now embracing the maxi-dress as an option, as I got sick of everything feeling increasingly tight as the day wears on.

LadyBuzz · 08/07/2010 20:21

My feet got bigger with DS1 and wider with DS2 and thay have not gone back either time - I'll be like a hobit after this one.

BunnyBaby · 08/07/2010 20:39

stenogirl don't worry, I blew up like a balloon, and although eating like a horse, it was mostly water retention.

I lost all pregnancy weight within 2 weeks of giving birth, and then went onto lose another 2 stone. So ended up in lovely clothes I haven't worn for 6-7 years!

superparty · 08/07/2010 21:41

littlehuman re: photos, if you go on your mymusnet it will say create a gallery, and then you upload your photos and make sure you change it to public/to be seen by mumsnetters (or similar). If you hover your cursor over the user name on the thread and click it will take you to the persons public profile and then you can look at photos. I have a public profile so you can try it on mine. Let me know when you've done yours and I'll try to see if its right for you.

superparty · 08/07/2010 21:46

sanielle hope your ok, not heard from you since yesterday, hope all was well at scan.

mamasunshine · 09/07/2010 08:53

littlehuman - I was sooooo excited about my VBAC with ds2. I couldn't wait to give birth, everyone thought I was mad! And I loved the whole thing, it was utterly amazing Ina May's books are very encouraging/motivating too, would definately recommend everyone reading her stuff!
steno - I suffered with pimples throughout pg 1 and 2, unfortuantely nothing worked (they were both boy's!) No pimples yet I wear quite a lot of white, as do ds's from time to time (2yo and 1yo) so the white jeans will be back As for heels, I haven't quite figured out how to manage them whilst running after 2 toddlers?!! But with a little baby in a pram definately
needtosleep - at scan, we would love you to stay here with us!

Well going to put ds2 down for a nap so I can get ready to go to a great group we've found for a Fri morning! Nothing much planned for the weekend, just me and the boy's pottering tomorrow, but dh with us Sun Did I tell you we went for lunch alone last Sun? My goodness it was bliss, not a dc in sight We ate in a fantastic country pub, and I was able to eat my meal whilst it was still warm! It was the 1st time dh and I had been out alone in over 1 yr I still missed the ds's after about an hr though

littlehuman · 09/07/2010 10:48

15weeks today!

hi stenogirl
i ve started to give my bras to my friend.
hoping than my boobs would never be small again pmsl!!!!

last night i could feel the baby moving again
i can defo tell that its not wind or anything. i found it so emotional , i feel like a right idiot lying there in my bed with tears in my eyes lol

mamasunshine i gonna try this photo thing, not very good with technology, hope i ll manage

littlehuman · 09/07/2010 10:49

heyy sorry superparty i meant

NeedToSleepZZZ · 09/07/2010 14:00

thanks mamasunshine, glad you managed to get some time to yourself, I couldn't believe how my best friend coped when she was pregnant with ds2 so fingers crossed you get some more quiet time before january!

wow, littlehuman I don't think you're an idiot, I think that must be the most amazing feeling in the world. must say though that I'm not used to having boobs (never really wore a bra before as was a 28a) but they are massive now (a c I think) and I'm a bit scared and hope they deflate after bf. never had this attention from OH before and I keep telling him to look at my face when he's talking to me!
