thanks for the reassurance CLB1, hoping things will ease up a bit next week. I was just wondering if anyone else in this group conceived whilst trapped on holiday due to the volcanic ash cloud. We did! An extra week stuck in L.A. and whoops I'm up the duff! My dad has suggested we call the kid Ashley. hee hee.

lilllysa · 18/06/2010 14:57

LOL splodge77 Ashley! I like it

I'm still so unsure when we actually concieved . . I'm sure I'm much less futher along than they think I am bring on the scan!!

SeoMum · 18/06/2010 15:08

maddyj full bladder for scan?
mrsfrisby I look like I've had too many pies not quite pregnant but lost weight as well from sickness
lillysa I have names picked out already too and we are building a home office so I can kick my DH out of the spare room for a nursery can't wait to find out the sex and start planning the decorations

My scan went well uploading the pic to my profile later was lovely to see its little legs kicking although found out my EDD is 12 Jan when midwife thought it was 26th December must have a messed up cyle lol

Was so relieved to see the baby and the heartbeat but I guess this is it and I won't stop worrying about the little bean for the rest of my life lol

MacMomo · 18/06/2010 15:20

splodge77: yes, have volcano baby, too - 5 extra nights in morocco after my mum managed to get home on an earlier flight! Don't think we will name it after the volcano itself, though .

off to spain to watch my husband falling into the water, sorry kitesurfing, tomorrow! yay! I fully expect to spend the entire week in the carrefour stalking the isles for food that I can eat without being sick...can't stomach any seafood at all. another week of toast no doubt.

anyone else feeling really nest-y? can't bring myself to be interested at work. have started knitting... do we all turn into our mothers?

mrsfrisby · 18/06/2010 17:48

No knitting for me yet MacMomo, but my Headteacher guessed today (probably thinks I am miles further on than I am due to distended belly ) so am feeling a bit happier about it. The problem is now, half people know and half don't and I haven't even had a scan yet! May have to get one asap so I know if it's all OK?! Feeling less sick than last week and the Ofsted inspection went well, which is a relief.

Chica31 · 18/06/2010 19:22

Hi all,

I have been feeling so tired and nauseous lately too. It's nearly the end of term, 2 days left with the children, so not too far to go.

DD was up for 3 hours last night for some unknown reason, it's not like her, she is normally a good sleeper, I hope it is not a sign of things to come.

Do you need the loo all the time at the moment. I am dreadful at night, hopefully it will calm down soon.

I NEED SLEEP TONIGHT!

All my work have guessed too, it wasn't too hard with me chucking up all the time, especially while I was on the residential trip last week. I work at a really large international school so I have been told I will not have a class next term, which I think is good news. It is better for the children to have the same teacher all year and means I can go off when I want to without feeling guilty about leaving them.

Off to the loo again....

mrsfrisby · 18/06/2010 21:38

Hi Chica - same here with the loo all the time, also not sleeping enough. It's been very hard at times, esp. this week. Want to press for a scan soon - have you had one?

mummychicken · 19/06/2010 09:19

How is this for freaky ?
My sister gets really bad heartburn and nausea every time someone she knows is pregnant. She asked me out right if I was pg when I was only a few days late. Normally the hb and nausea disappear when she finds out who it is.
BUT....
No one else she knows is pg and she still has the symptoms so she has decided that I must be having twins!!!! Will find out on 1st July at scan ? god I hope not ? don?t think I could cope!!

lilllysa · 19/06/2010 15:05

Hiya chica - Must be something in the air . . my dd slept about 4hrs all night . . I just wanna lay down and sleep . . but when I do get to laying down I know I can sleep (

Terrible headache today and vomiting!!

So jealous of people having scans already! Mine isnt till the 12/07 . . Feels like its going to be so late

LadyBuzz · 19/06/2010 16:43

lillysa I know how you feel mine is the 13th, feels like so long away!

mummychicken my SIL is convinced I am having twins too. She has predicted ALL the babies in the family so far correctly and she says I am having twin girls. Fingers crossed for both of us 4 DCs under 5 is quite a scary thought!

Chica31 · 19/06/2010 16:46

Yes I have had a scan, but just a quick dating one. I saw a little blob with a heartbeat, still exciting though! I had to go as I haven't had very regular periods as I have been BFing DD. DH couldn't come as he had to work, he is a teacher too, but it will be the summer holidays at the 12 week scan so he can come too. However in Spain, well at the hospital we go to, they don't like the fathers in as they say there isn't enough room. I just say I can't speak Spanish so need him to come in, I usually get away with it. At one of the last scans with DD she asked me a question and I answered with out thinking, so I was found out! Hopefully they wont remember me.

superwoman25 · 19/06/2010 22:14

stenogirl · 20/06/2010 13:52

Hello girls,
I'm 13 weeks today.
I had a bit of a scare last night. Felt very odd in the shower, so got out and lay over the toilet to vomit but when I stood up, there was a pool of blood on the floor. arrgh... v scary. Rang NHS Direct and got to see a doctor nearby who listened for the heartbeat. He said he could hear it, but I couldn't so was very stressed. So we went to a private clinic today to get an ultrasound. We were so relieved to hear the heartbeat and see the baby moving. Phew (best £99 we've ever spent) However, sonographer said I had a low-lying placenta. Didn't think anything of it until I googled it when we got back. I'm a little worried but glad the baby is all right.
Should I contact my midwife tomorrow or wait until I see her in three weeks?

mrsfrisby · 20/06/2010 16:52

Don't know much about this stuff but I would let her know tomorrow. Three weeks seems a long time! Hope all goes well...

LadyBuzz · 20/06/2010 18:13

stenogirl I would def mention it to her ASAP, It can but doesn't always cause problems. I would give her a ring so she knows. It won't hurt.

Glad baby is ok.

Ibizadreams · 20/06/2010 18:15

Hi all, would like to join you please.

Am 36, 1st pg, EDD 8th Jan 2011.

I'm going to be a single mum and pretty daunted by that! Would love to hear any positive messages from anyone in same boat or who has done it before...

splodge77 Would be interested to know what you decide re St George's as I am going there too.

Hi Ibizadreams,
I spoke to a friend of my brothers at the weekend whose wife had his first and is soon to have her second at St Georges and apparently she gave it a glowing report - said the midwives were absolutely excellent so that is encouraging!
I just started to feel less nauseous and tired yesterday then promptly caught a horrible cold off my boyfriend grrrr. wondering if its ok to suck strepsils or not? A cold in mid-June?! I am not impressed. hmph.

stenogirl · 20/06/2010 19:15

Thanks a million Mrs Frisby and LadyBuzz. I'll call tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your weekend

deedee321 · 20/06/2010 19:39

littlehuman · 20/06/2010 22:07

hi kiki

and know what you mean with appointments, i dont stop lately(plus free dentist now so i get my teeth sorted lol)

FunkyMonkey1983 · 21/06/2010 12:15

My midwife just called to say I have low iron levels and they need to put me on iron tablets. Not surprising as my mum and sister both had iron deficiency anaemia in pregnancy.

However she says she needs to take more blood to rule out other things, does anyone know what the other things could be? I didn't get a chance to ask.

lilllysa · 21/06/2010 17:55

Good Lord Stenogirl that must have been so scary!!! Poor you . . GLad everything is ok now xx

I've had some bleeding over the weekend too so they've booked me in for an early scan (this wed at 9.45) prying everything is ok . . Had an early scan with the pg that was my now 4yo DD and they said it wasnt a viable pg but a scan 2 weeks later showed everythign was ok so a bit stressful . . hoping the same doesnt happen!!

I had low iron with my DD FunkyMonkey1983 and just needed some iron tables which were fine . . Though they turned my poo black!! TMI I know lol

lilllysa · 21/06/2010 18:17

Oh and hi hi ibizadreams Welcome x

mrsfrisby · 21/06/2010 19:09

AM SO HUNGRY - HELP ME!!! Am almost getting upset at how hungry I am all the time. I wake up at 4am and have to eat cereal, my stomach is HUGE... is it just me? Started to worry that it's twins??! Really want to stop feeling hungry/sick. Had booking in apt today - there was a student midwife who, although lovely, must have been about -ten- 20 . I felt ANCIENT!!
Hope all those who have had worries are OK - relax and put your feet up x
