I'm 10 weeks with No2. Barely showed until 5 months with No1. I have a DEFINITE little pot. I can normally "suck my gut" but this still sticks out no matter how much sucking I do!!!!

thank you mummychicken and mrsfrisby you've put my mind at rest that its not just me!!
like you mummychicken I can't suck the gut in anymore, baggy tops for the next couple of weeks until my scan!

berrycravings · 11/06/2010 21:09

jenniebee I've just been to Sainsburys to buy an elastic skirt in the size up from what I wear as I only have a couple of dresses I can currently wear to work and none of my usual skirts and trousers fit any more! I really know how you feel (I'm 11wks tomorrow)

stenogirl · 12/06/2010 12:13

Hey girls,
Loving all your experiences. I don't have any friends who are expecting and it's my first pregnancy so it's great to know I'm not alone and experiencing the same symptoms.
I'm week 11 now and feeling much, much better. I only vomit maybe every second day and my hormones seem better or maybe I'm more aware of them.
I'm freelance so am taking days off when I need to and we went to Portugal again this week but weren't as lucky with the weather this time.
I've got my first scan on Wednesday, can't wait for that. I went shopping yesterday for tracksuits and elasticated skirts. I haven't put on any weight but jeans and dresses feel itchy and restrictive. odd.

CLB1 · 12/06/2010 15:23

Hi All,

So 11 weeks today, and can say I am starting to feel better, still tired and have a very dull headache but no sickness, hopefully the sickness is behind me know as I have to go back to work after 3 weeks next week.

Well I made an astonishing discovery this morning... I have been checking my weight quite frequently as I lost about 8-10lbs in the 1st 2 weeks of sickness (being going on for about 5 weeks now) and for the last 2 weeks my weight has stayed the same (which is a bonus with all I am eating), but this morning coming out of the shower I have stretch marks on my stomach on both sides. So say I am not impressed is an understatement

Off to Freeport (J32 outlet village) for my dads fathers day prezzie.Hope everyone has a great weekend

mrsfrisby · 12/06/2010 17:31

Anyone else turned down the invitation of going to watch the match in the pub? The thought of feeling sick, being stone cold sober and surrounded by loud drunks doesn't appeal! Not if I can't join them....

maddyj · 12/06/2010 18:20

Hello everyone..just returned from Portugal had a lovely time but it was too hot and the smell of bbq'd food kept making me retch!! Managed to only puke a couple of times while we were away though!! Must say I missed the cocktails somehow the alcohol free ones just didn't cut the mustard. Woke up this morning after a twelve hour sleep with the worst headache ever, luckily I could go back to bed until midday when it seemed to have subsided. Don't know about anyone else but my hunger seems to have come back suddenly..feel like such a pig but have eaten today (in no particular order)

One packet of beef hula hoops and some sweet popcorn
one bolied egg with marmite toast soldiers
one slice of victoria sponge
loads of grapefruit juice
philadelphia cheese dippers
lime pickle(!!!)
one m and s fruit jelly

hmmmm not exactly healthy!!!

maddyj · 12/06/2010 18:28

and yes mrsfrisby have politely declined the offer of footie in the pub...I'm settled in at home with DS and my three year old neice, a jar of pickled onions and more popcorn.
Sorry..Im must stop being obsessed with food!

berrycravings · 12/06/2010 20:30

I'm watching the football from the comfort of my sofa, probably TMI but my wind is an embaressment and would not want to be out in public tonight Luckily DH very supportive!
I suddenly have my hunger back today, has been amazing as have got to eat some salads and lots of strawberries and ice cream (about to have 3rd helping)
Hope everyone enjoying the football, not sure my nerves can take a second half

luckykitty · 12/06/2010 20:38

Hi Im 26 (almost) and 10 and a half weeks, this is my first pregnancy, I have no experience whatsoever of children in any shape or form but hope im sure it will all be fine!

stillsurprised · 13/06/2010 10:50

Hello and welcome luckykitty, before DS I had only ever held a baby about twice and had managed to never change a nappy, it's amazing how quickly you pick it up once you have to!

Hope everyone is starting to feel a bit better. I was ridiculously sick yesterday but feeling much better today, that might have something to do with the fact DP got DS up and took him off to visit his mum while I had a relaxing lie-in .

mrsfrisby · 13/06/2010 14:44

Thought I was 'better' yesterday - almost nausea-free and eating like a pig. But today am back to sofa and sickness combo. Cannot wait til I get past this stage (everything crossed not a full 9 months of MS type). Booking in apt a week tomorrow, which am looking forward to, as still feels a bit unreal at the moment.

maddyj · 13/06/2010 19:02

Help I'm having a bit of a panick.. I've had some jelly like discharge today, exactly like the discharge you get just before ovulation. I'm 11 weeks pregnant (I hope) but I'm worrying as I checked the calender and this would be around the time I would ovulate if I hadn't already concieved. Do you think this is just coincidence or could I have miscarried then ovulated again without a period???Probably just panicking about nothing but I'm driving myself mad

crumblequeen · 13/06/2010 19:08

maddyj I have had similar all week and am 8 weeks so I don't think its anything to worry about - hopefully others can confirm. I haven't seen anything on the dreaded google about it being a problem!

berrycravings · 13/06/2010 19:46

Hi maddyj I don't know alot about this sort of thing as we weren't really TTC when we got pregnant (had just decided to give it ago that month) however I am also 11 weeks and had alot of discharge yesterday, had to change my underwear. I think it is normal for the body to react in this way. Although I know what you mean, i was worried yest too.
Not been sick for two whole days, trying not to get excited as I'm sure it'll be back this week with a vengence, but has been so nice to eat some normal food today!
Hope everyone has a good week, am really nervous about going back to work as was so nice being at home last week.

jenniebee · 13/06/2010 20:10

Hi Maddyj. my friend had this at about 14 weeks, she really panicked but everything is fine and shes now 18 weeks. just looked this up on a website. don't know how to do links (computer phobe)"During pregnancy, changing hormones and increased blood circulation in the vaginal area cause a discharge called leukorrhea. This runny, whitish substance shouldn't have an offensive odor, even to your pregnancy-sensitized nose. There is nothing you can do to reduce this fluid, and you wouldn't want to anyway: This is your body's way of flushing out bacteria to keep you and your baby healthy."
Phone midwife and check with her to put your mind at ease. Hope everyone else is feeling ok today.
Berrycravings i have given in to the elasticated waist trousers aswell!

MacMomo · 13/06/2010 21:04

Booking in appointment was a bit of a disappointment, quite rushed. I think she skipped through everything because for some reason her notes said I was a doctor (I'm certainly not!). She didn't ask how I was feeling, so I didn't get to complain to someone other than DH! Nevermind. The scan place have lost my notes, so no date for the first scan yet. Didn't know we get £190 in about week 25 regardless of income (or is that going to be taken away by the govt?).

Visited civilisation and large department store. Ladies, if this is your first (like it is for me) you should approach these places with extreme caution. The maternity/new born sections will scare the bejesus out of you with more gadgets than you can imagine all of which you must have or you will fail to cope or be a bad parent. I left in a state of shock, planning to rob a bank to pay for it all.

Felt better today until late afternoon, now ill again but hopefully a good sign. Am officially huge! Even though I am in the 'ideal' BMI range, the midwife sniffed a little when I said I had put on 2.5 kg so far. Have very visible tummy, DH convinced I'm sticking it out on purpose.

Have a lovely week, hope the footy didn't upset too many.

splodge77 · 14/06/2010 09:49

hi all, well I'm nearing 10 weeks now and I feel crappy! nausea all day and absolutely knackered all the time. Glad to hear some people say they are feeling better around week 11. Bring it on!! I went to get measured for a bra the other day and I have already gone up 4 cup sizes - flippin eck, what state are they going to be in by the end of the pregnancy?!?

mamasunshine · 14/06/2010 12:16

Hello chatty ladies and welcome and congratulations to everyone whose joined the thread

partyof7 - I have to agree you do sound like superwoman! And you manage to work with 5 dc's! What age the age gaps you have?
loudlass - very sorry for your losses and I wish you a healthy pg
kitty30 - I told family and close friends when i was 5/6wks in 1st 2 pg's...just couldn't keep it a secret!! However this time I've only told 1 close friend, I'll tell family and close friends after the 12 wk scan.
CLB1 - at weightloss, I'm a bit , I'm 9wks and have already put on 1.5kg! Are you back at work now? If so hope you're managing.
mrsfrisby - hope you're feeling better, or signed off work and watching crappy day time telly
missckitty - you have my sympathy, my hormones run riot during my pg's...I do actually turn into a bit of a loon Unfortunately I never feel "normal" again until 4months post birth, but hopefully that won't apply to you!
littlehuman - Congrats on your scan How's your cat doing?
funkymonkey lack of symptoms totally normal. Previous pg's I've had no symptoms from 9 wks on. It's alwasy been a relief to have the 12 wk scan and then listen to HB at 15 wks, otherwise I never would've believed I was pg!
maddj - increased CM is a normal pregnancy symptom too, hope you're feeling reassured
macmomo - at your experience shopping! You really don't need much for a newborn. I wasted soooo much ££££ on ds1 and didn't use 1/2 the stuff To begin with I would say the main things are 1) moses basket and blankets 2) pram and car seat 3) muslins and breast pads (if bf) 4) 4 vests, babygrows, 2 cardigans and 1 hat 5) nappies and cotton wool. You'll be amazed at the amount clothes/teddy's etc people will give LO for gifts. Then the other bits you may need you can buy as you go. My big £ wasters were a changing table (haven't used it once , baby monitor (house not big enough to need 1!)and I've spent over £200 on slings with only 1 that I actually used!
splodge77 - 4 cip sizes !!

Whoops this is a massive post !!

Well feeling a little better today so thought I'd catch up. My house has turned into a tip and feeling guilty that I'm not doing as many 'things' as I should be with ds's, due to sickness and tiredness. We're living off ready meals and I'm eating enough crisps and toast to keep the england team energised! Didn't tell work that pg afterall. I've had letter for dating scan for 5th July, I'll be 13wks. Still no booking app, waiting for a phone call this wk. I'm 9wks and last night I came across my angel sound doppler, thought I'd have a go at finding HB - knowing that there wouldn't be anything there. But I actually heard the HB it was really low on my bikini line to the right (it wasn't anywhere else), fast little HB. A little confused and wondering if I could be further along than I think . It was a relief though

Partyofsevensoontobeeight · 14/06/2010 12:58

Hi all

Hi mamasunshine I am coming round to the idea of being super woman I won't disagree if thats what you want to call me, might even change my name again awwwww at hearing babys heartbeat, hope you get booking appointment soon, yay for scan

Been a busy week for us at casa party, DD whos 7 made her first holy communion yesterday so lots of running around (will post pics later)

Hope everyone is doing ok, hello to all newbies since I last posted.

I have first appointment with mw on weds, and babys injections thursday.

X

Partyofsevensoontobeeight · 14/06/2010 13:02

Sorry pg brain

ages are ds17, dd12, dd7, dd6, dd19wks, ??jan2011

HopingCatPlusThree · 14/06/2010 13:16

That is a lot of children. Lovely I'm sure, but I find my 2 hard work and am not sure what adding another is going to be like. DD is 3 and DS is 1 so I'm going to have to look into double buggies and slimline car seats to fit them all in.

Anyone buying maternity clothes yet to go over the little tummys we're getting? I gave most of mine away to a friend last year so I'm going to have to re-buy. Think I'm going to do what I did last time though - go to Primark and buy lots of tops and jumpers a few sizes too big. So much cheaper than maternity clothes, and much more effective for the next few months when you don't fit in your normal clothes but maternity clothes are still too baggy. Then once they have stretched beyond recognition just throw them out and get proper maternity stuff.

mamasunshine · 14/06/2010 13:45

superwoman - I've always dreamt of having a large family (4+ dc)bustling around my feet. And big Christmas's and birthday celebrations when they're older - I think programs such as brothers and sisters are to blame for this In reality we would all be very cramped in our very small house, sharing plain rice and beans! I would have more if pg wasn't soooo hard!
hoping - I'm scared enough about the buggy/car seat situation...did we agree that they could go on a roofrack? I still have loads of mat clothes but haven't needed them yet. Great idea about Primark, will definately have a browse in there and see what will work to hide my pronounced tum!

Partyofsevensoontobeeight · 14/06/2010 15:58

Believe me, its hard work at times but its not as hard as you think. There really isn't that many times when we are all together at once, but at occasions like yesterday when we are and they all behave so well I do feel really proud that i've done/am doing a good job.

mama we live in a 3 bedroomed house, so no mansion here, but we squeeze in nicely, ds has own room, me dh and baby, and three girls in other, am hoping to convert attic for dd12 and extend to add extra room for 2 babys, and dd6&7 still share bigger room, but if it doesn't happen me and dh will go in smaller room with 2 sets of bunk beds and cot/small bed in big room. THIS IS ALL OF COURSE IF ITS A GIRL, IF ITS A BOY WHO KNOWS ds at 18 will have to share, i think not.

I think if you concealed them in say a suitcase (with air holes of course) the roof rack is a fine idea

I did that this time at primark, bought 3 stretchy t shirts for a fiver (3lots) and they lasted me through out
