mamasunshine - your name is very apt today - what a lovely day! DS been out in garden all day moving cut grass with my tongs (now known as his "grabber" - think I have lost those!). Its amazing how long one pile of grass can keep a toddler entertained. Busy afternoon with the other toddlers went well - filled the water table and left them to it, although half of the contents of the playroom ended up in the garden!

DH out tonight so I am looking forward to an early night!

Partyofsevensoontobeeight · 05/06/2010 19:51

have a lovely evening and early night crumble

deedee321 · 05/06/2010 20:06

mrsfrisby, think there are a few teachers on this thread (including me!) and yes, I def agree is not an easy job to have morning sickness with...though I suppose, what is??

MissCKitty · 05/06/2010 20:07

Hi ladies,
Congratulations all on your bumps and potential bumps lol I too am due early 2011 on 27th jan which is 2 days before my 32nd birthday. Am so excited as was told a year ago that the chances of me conceiving naturally were slim. Am feeling ok apart from the crazy sore boobs that have already gone up a cupsize!!, the constant underlying queasiness and the absolute exhaustion!! However can't compain

I'm also a teacher - the loo is down 2 flights of stairs and last time I was pg sometimes I just HAD to go - told the teacher next door to keep and ear out .

It was either that or pee myself

mamasunshine · 06/06/2010 09:10

So pleased scan went well deedee
I really do feel for you poor teacher's on here, I work with 1 other person in an office, about 10 steps from the loo and find that difficult enough!!
partyof7 - love the name change! Glad your lo is keeping your mind off the early stages of pg Ru hoping to have anymore later or is this pg your last 1? Think I've pretty much decided this is our last so I'm determined to enjoy it as much as i can and have as little stress etc as I can. Almost making me not want to tell people I'm pg, as there has been a lot of stress put on us by other's in previous pg's.
crumblequeen - yes loving the sunshine here to, although 1 ds down this wkend - staying away with family, so I've been a bit lost with just the 1!
Welcome and congrats missckitty
Hope you're all having good wkend? Oooh breakfast is here C/O dh

berrycravings · 06/06/2010 09:46

very sick today and feeling very sorry for myself. Would love to be sleeping, but even after being sick nausea is keeping me awake. Its days like this i struggle to be excited. Not sure I don't have a stomach bug, so hard to tell.
Sorry for the moan.

I feel for you teachers too, I think some days i'm off to pee every half hour, must be tough.

Hopefully will be all bright and breezy when I post next.

Partyofsevensoontobeeight · 06/06/2010 09:57

Happy sunday all

mama I can catergorically state that this is definately, my last pg. boy or girl not bothered, my LAST, although i do remember saying I was totally done when dd was born, but that was about 1 min post birth so he can't hold that against me. But i do think 6 will be enough for anyone.

i'm thinking my name is tooo long, so i'm thinking of another

when i finally go back from maternity leave in sept i will be 20wks so hopefully any nausea etc will have passed.

hope the sun reappears soon am minding two extras today so all stuck inside, fingers crossed

have good days will check back later

sanielle · 06/06/2010 11:42

I was feeling really well yesterday starting to think my morning sickness may be passing!! Woke up today feeling like I had just climbed off the Titanic. I really do feel like I am sea sick... it is the most bizarre thing.

Dizzy and I want to be sick so badly....

Bored of it all already! I have so much sympathy for those of you who are teachers and can't leave your class!

MissCKitty · 06/06/2010 12:10

Sanielle Have been feeling like that too. Really really need to be sick but can't! Hate it! Do you know what it feels like? The hangover from hell lol Am v tired, the room is spinning and my stomach feels like a washing machine but hey its a good think right?!?.....hmmm
Hope you have a good rest of your day and don't feel too rubbish xx

MissCKitty · 06/06/2010 12:12

ooooops Can't spell I meant 'good thing' not 'good think' on my last post x

seablue · 06/06/2010 16:59

Hangover is exactly right! Except without the knowledge that it will get better later in the day! DH suggested that the best way to empathise would be for him to get drunk a lot and create his own hangovers. Struggled to see the funny side!

So sorry for all you teachers. DH is a teacher and i know how full on it is. I'm lucky working in am office. Though I have a very tiring and stressful week coming up which is rather worrying given that I spent this morning asleep on the sofa!

mrsfrisby · 06/06/2010 17:42

I know Seablue... Would it be too much to ask to be able to do what I have spent the last week doing for the rest of the first trimester? ie sleep, eat, occasionally venture out for a short walk then back to sleep/ eat, all punctuated by toilet breaks. I too have spent long spells of the day sleeping and it doesn't affect my night sleep one little bit. I am seriously dreading being back in a classroom away from bed/ fridge/ toilet combo. Still - not long now!

jacwagner · 06/06/2010 22:01

Hi all,

Hope the morning sickness is not having too many of you in their grips. Mine fortunately decided to find a new victim and so I'm just feeling either revenues or stuffed like a christmas turkey.
I'm 33 at the end of the month and this is my first pregnancy (excited and scared).

I add myself to the list but was wondering if anybody could pl. explain what DS as in e.g. 2 DS stands for?

Thanks Jacqueline

MacMomo · 06/06/2010 23:28

Have been hiding away feeling ill and very sorry for myself! Hope everyone got some sunshine this weekend. I feel in awe of all you mums who manage this with small children to take care of, too - I can barely cope and I only have me to look after. DH is away with work this week and I'll be glad for the break, he said he is finding it hard to deal with my feel ill all the time! (You're finding it hard to deal with are you?!) But have my booking in appointment on Friday - yay! Will be good to actually speak to someone about it. Have put on nearly 2 kgs from over-eating and taking no exercise. I honestly feel too sick to care! Chocolate ice cream just keeps calling to me. Little pot belly growing and I have to undo my jeans when I sit down! Hope you all have a good week.

CLB1 · 07/06/2010 00:27

Hi All,

I was so glad for some rain today, cool the air down a bit. Still feeling extremely sicky but not being sick. I've actually lost weight in the last 4 weeks about 9lbs. Dr didn't seem concerned thou so well see how it goes.
jacwagner Welcome, DS stands for dear son so 2 DS would mean that they have 2 sons. there is a link at the top of the page that will explain all the short hand, its under acronyms MissCKitty Welcome, I know what you mean about the sickness. Atleast if it was a hangover you would have some good drunken memories.
MacMomo My DH is saying the same thing, I wish we could turn the tables just for a day, that would be fun

Got my appt for my 12 week scan through this week, its on 16th June (I'll actually be 11+5), really looking forward to seeing bean and finally being able to announce to the world.

Good luck to all who have to go to work next week, I really feel for you. I am signed off for another week then will be joining you.

NNx

mrsfrisby · 07/06/2010 18:12

Well, back to school today and it was TRULY AWFUL. Was sick 5 times this morning, once into a plastic bag on the way to school. Am very tempted to follow in your footsteps CLB1 and get signed off. We are due Ofsted any minute now and I couldn't find the energy to care...

CLB1 · 07/06/2010 18:44

I would recommend it mrsfrisby. I tried trudging through for 2 weeks before I said enough of this. signed myself off for a week and then to the doctors for another 2 weeks (Mine is just a call center job though, so not as important as yours).
My manager called today to see how I was and too see when I would be back explained had another week yet
Still feel sicky, not so much throwing up as feeling as though I'm going to be sick.

stillsurprised · 07/06/2010 18:57

This thread keeps moving so fast! I'd like to get to 'know' people a bit better but I keep losing track of who's said what and I can't find the energy to sit here long enough to properly recap the whole thread. Anyone else hoping for more energy in the second trimester?

I've had my scan date through for 29th and one of my neighbours now knows I'm pregnant! The letter arrived 2 hours after the rest of the post and someone must've opened it before realising it wasn't theirs, of all the things to get mis-delivered...

mrsfrisby · 07/06/2010 19:48

I can think of worse things to get 'mis-delivered' stillsurprised

deedee321 · 07/06/2010 19:56

mrsfrisby!!!! You poor, poor soul, that sounds absolutely awful and definitely beyond what anyone could expect you to put up with and still go to work. How awful. I have been feeling weepy as the permanent nausea is wearing me down, but that just does not compare to constant vomiting. Def see the doc, they will sign you off. Hope you get to the end of term before Ofsted looms. I moved home to Scotland a couple of years ago and am feeling delighted at the early summer holidays we get here!
MacMomo, I am also horrified at having put on weight already...am hoping it is temporary bloating, but tbh I really am eating for dear life just to make it all stop for ten minutes!!
Chin up ladies! This should only last...a few more weeks aaaaaaaaaaaargh!!

crumblequeen · 07/06/2010 20:31

stillsurprised sorry that made me laugh as I had a similar experience when pregnant with DS! I had ordered a book online - "what to expect when you are expecting" and forgot to change my delivery address so it got delivered to work. At my old work all post was opened by the secretaries and this was before I had told anyone I was pregnant, so thankfully a very discreet secretary came over and said "I think this was private for you!" and as far as I know she didnt tell anyone else - what a great woman!

MissCKitty · 07/06/2010 21:06

Hi ladies, hope you are well and not feeling to sick or tired today. If I were you mrsfrisby i'd get myself signed off work. I took some annual leave this week cos i felt so rubbish. One thing thats really getting me down (and my fella) are my overwhelming mood swings. Am an emotional f*wit at the best of times but this is ridiculous!! We had a stupid pointless row this morning over something on the computer (its doesn't help that he's just given up smoking cos i'm pg - bless him), then i hurt myself (not badly at all) getting something out of the dishwasher and sobbed for about 20 mins and then afterwards felt high as a kite for about two hours!!!! I know I'm being irrational and I know its just hormones but does anyone have any advice on how to deal with it? And more to the point, does it go away?!?!?
Cat x

Partyofsevensoontobeeight · 07/06/2010 22:50

missckitty not sure what to do about the hormones, like you i'm like that all the time it does get better though, after 5 pg i'd be divorced if it didn't.

Having been on the jan 2010 thread for the last nine months, i remember someone saying the sea sick bands you wear on your wrist being really helpful for nausea.

berrycravings · 08/06/2010 08:16

Hi all,
Turns out sun had a bug, not much fun while pregnant as still had to eat. Luckily recovered now and just back to my usual morning sickness and constant nausea.

missckitty My DH and I had a good chat about the hormones (when I was not crying or moody) and that really helped. Now he is on the look out for the mood changes and tries to only react positively (bless him it can't be easy). Also means he no longr panics when i walk in the room in floods of tears.

mrsfrisby I agree with the others, get signed off. I am on a weeks anual leave this week and its bliss. So nice to nap and eat when I feel like it and let my bloated belly hang out. I don't feel so exhausted now either so think I was doing too much.

Hope those at work are managing okay.
