Drivermamsstorytrain · 30/05/2010 10:16

Hi all,

Have been following for a while but not posted and would like to join. Im 7 weeks now, but after losing my 2nd child in february at 18weeks, have been a little obsessive and cautious this time, But as yesterday at my nephews Bday party, two strangers approched me to congratulate me on my obvious condition, secrecy is out the bloody window as i am already MAMMOTH.
I look about 6 months gone and cant attribute it to eating more as so far Ive lost half a stone . Those feeling guilty taking a day or two of work neednt be as i've been signed off for the next month because of severe ms (dont want to say hyperemisis as am still in denial) .
Really glad that others are infected with the googlebug. Really makes you crazy doesn't it (s though we werent crazy enough) My first scan is due on 11june not excited but thats because of my last pregnancy ending so badly. I'll be 9 weeks at that point though. Anyway sorry for rambling, congrats all and keep up to date and what not hope nobody minds 've added to the list.

mrsfrisby · 30/05/2010 12:42

Hi all,

Well, this will be the third time I have tried this so I won't write much in case this too vanishes into the ether. I am about 6 or 7 weeks (speedy conception after impanon removal with no period so no real idea about conception date), starving, sick, tired and moody. Is anyone else hungry/ sick all the time? Obviously I am excited (sometimes) but as it's still early am trying to stay realistic. Roll on 12 weeks (and an end to the nausea!)

PrincessAli · 01/06/2010 07:22

Hello mrsfrisby,

I am hungry/sick all the time. So weird. Feel so sick and the last thing I want to do is eat but I know that if I do eat it will alleviate the sickness for a little bit.
Was just off work for two and a half weeks with horrendous sickness. Couldn't stay off any longer as we work for ourselves and things were really needing attended to. I hope I'm having twins because I really can't see me wanting to do this again
Still really sick and my back and boobs are agony. My stomach feels so peculiar - almost as though if I sneeze or laugh, my insides might fall out or something.
Also been feeling very down and tearful which in turn is making me feel really guilty. Can't understand why I'm feeling so depressed. Shouldn't I be jumping for joy? I've wanted this for a long time but I feel so upset now all the time. I've never been a person who gets down or depressed. I'm always really positive and a generally happy person. I don't know what's wrong with me. All I seem to be doing is focusing on the negatives now.
Apologies for the rant and being such a misery. I'm just really struggling with this and I can't understand why.
Hope you're all enjoying it and doing a lot better than me. Hopefully in a week I'll be fine and unable to believe I felt this way.

splodge77 · 01/06/2010 09:45

hi PrincessAli

sounds like you are having a hard time with the sickness. sending sympathy your way. As for feeling down and negative, you are not alone! i'm sure its all those bloody hormones at work. i've been feeling like this too, worrying about everything - particularly our financial situation - and focusing on what might go wrong and crying at any little thing. Someone swore at me on my bike yesterday (i cut them up so it was totally my fault - whoops!) and i cried all the way home and felt really pathetic. here's hoping these feelings get better by the 2nd trimester, thats what i'm hanging out for. In the meantime sending hugs xx

mrsfrisby · 01/06/2010 10:16

Oh goody!! Not that you are all feeling miserable, but that I am not the only one! I have cried every day for the last three days after being really moody and foul. Both my partner and I are teachers, so we are on half term which should be great but means I now have the time to look around at all the things that need doing - namely moving house- and feel a huge sense of dissatisfaction at my life. And the fact that he doesn't seem remotely bothered - .!!! So i also feel guilty that my thoughts are rarely positive (the nausea/ exhaustion/ lack of wine/ not being able to tell anyone only a small part of it!)but figure it has to get better... Even if it's only being able to tell people! There, PrincessAli - that is a rant to compete with yours...

littlehuman · 01/06/2010 10:50

hi
mrsfrisby and splodge77i used to feel like that for about 1 month but it eventually got betta(prob when the hormones settle)so keep my fingers crossed for u that it might be the same.

first appointment with the midwife at 1pm today! exciting!
going with my friend as DH working.
girly afternoon yeah!!!

FunkyMonkey1983 · 01/06/2010 11:55

My DH is coming to my scan with me but just wondering if I can take him along to my other midwife appointments too? (I really am clueless when it comes to pregnancy!)

HopingCatPlusThree · 01/06/2010 12:27

I'm getting worried. I'm starting to feel better, which you would think would be a good thing, but I've heard that if symptoms disappear it can be a missed mc. Am I worrying about nothing or is it ok to be a bit paranoid? Is there anywhere I can go? Not had any booking in appt yet so I have no contact details for mw.

Funkymonkey - there is no reason you can't have DH with you for every appt if you want. With other pregnancies I took DH sometimes to hear heartbeat (around 16 and 28 weeks I think.

lucybrad · 01/06/2010 12:48

Hi Hopingcatplusthree. I am a lurker, as too superstitious to post but wanted to say I have lost my symptoms too and im 9 weeks +1. I have already had two scans - all ok. I have booked another scan privately for tommorrow. Gonna wait till 12 weeks before formally introducing myself to the board!

HopingCatPlusThree · 01/06/2010 13:13

Thanks lucybrad. I'm unsure of dates but I think I'm about 8 weeks. Hope your scan goes well tomorrow. Let me know if everything is ok.

HC

littlehuman · 01/06/2010 16:37

hi
funky monkey
agree with hopingcat i am sure you can take anyone when you want for your appointments.

more blood test at the midwife today aarrgghhh
junky arms!!!

PrincessAli · 01/06/2010 19:49

Thanks ladies. Means a lot to hear from you. I was beginning to feel like some kind of freak or failure. It is a relief to know that others are feeling the same. Hope you feel happier and more settled soon. Fingers crossed for us.
Hugs to you too.
Ax.

CLB1 · 01/06/2010 21:00

Hi all,

so today I went to the doctors as I've signed my self off work for a week now and still not fit to go back. She signed me off for another 2 weeks. God I hope it doesn't last for another two weeks I think I will go stur crazy if it does

Hi to everyone new
Sorry to hear your having such a hard time PrincessAli Just know there are poeple going through it with you and were here whenever you need to rant

MrsFrisby I know what you mean about DH not understanding, being bothered by what your going through. It's hard for them as they have no reference to refer it too. My DH has the thinking that if he doesn't understand it or believe it then it isn't worth his time. All I have had for the past week is, are you going to sort the washing? Could you do some tidying? Wil you put tea on. I understand that I am at home all day but that is because movement and smells my the MC worse and the more I do the worse it gets.

Men can't live with them, can't live without them. I'll teach him in time lol

PrincessAli · 02/06/2010 08:35

Thanks CLB1.
xxxx

mrsfrisby · 02/06/2010 11:23

Is it normal to panic about things like money/ family/ where you live etc wth the first one? I am a bit of an angst-merchant at the best of times but at the moment every time I think of anything I start to stress. I suppose I want reassurance that it's normal to feel like this and that it will all be ok when baby is born... Anyone??!

stillsurprised · 02/06/2010 12:42

Hi all, sorry I've not been on for ages. I've been spending a lot of time with my head stuck down the toilet and organising DS's 2nd birthday .

mrsfrisby panic is a totally normal state all the way through pregnancy. I don't think it really goes away when the baby is born either, just turns into 'are they still breathing? are they eating enough/too much? pooing enough/too much? sleeping enough/too much?'... at least we have mumsnet for comparing notes!

mummychicken · 02/06/2010 16:55

funckmonkey DH came with me to the first couple of midwives appointments with DS, but he quickly got bored of watching me have my blood pressure taken and tummy measured so he gave up. I do think Dads can feel a bit over looked so if you can give him the chance.

I had my booking in appointment today. Scan won't be before 28th June which is SO far away... can't wait so I can hopefully put all these worries aside.

berrycravings · 02/06/2010 19:04

Hi all,

Dare I say i am almost getting used to the daily routine of being sick followed by having to eat my breakfast.
clb1 hope you start to feel better soon, I struggle with feeling sick all day, must be tough for you.
princessali hope the sickness is improving. You are def not alone, i feel so miserable some days, esp when I've been really sick, made it to work then feel sick all day.

funkymonkey I went on my own to my appointments, but that was because I want DH to save his time off. He's excited about coming along to the scan tho.

mrsfrisby I'm like you, have started to worry about these things. I think its normal! I sat down and worked out all my maternity pay and how long it looks like I can take off work, I'm thinking 9 months at the moment. I also got a money guide at my booking in appointment which really helped too.

In the mornings I now have a definate very little bump, makes all the bloating feel worthwhile and is lovely for me and DH to be the only one's who can see the little bump.

mrsfrisby · 02/06/2010 19:42

Hi all,

Thanks berrycravings, I am feeling better today although the last few days i have felt really insanely hormonal... Starting to regain perspective and the sunshine defo helps
I am dreading going back to work after half term as the nausea/ sickness is all consuming sometimes. Don't fancy being in a room full of badly behaved teenagers with the overwhelming urge to vomit! Have decided to see how I go...
I havent been able to decide whether the bump is to do with the vast amount of food I am consuming in an attempt to keep nausea at bay or if it really is a sign . In my case I suspect the former!
Hope you are feeling a bit better princessali

Drivermamsstorytrain · 02/06/2010 20:12

Hi all, Mrsfrisby- all consuming is the perfect description- i will repeat that to my dh- see if it will make him understand how crap i feel.
I don't think the panic is just with your first either. When i'm not sick i'm constantly entertaining worries over money and all sorts, is the car big enough? Is the house ready? Am i ready? Anything and everything is now approached as a major concern. Yet another thing that can be attributed to hormones i suppose

deedee321 · 02/06/2010 20:18

I am exactly the same mrsfrisby, seem to spend the entire day eating more and more food in an effort to abate the horrendous nausea for...ten minutes? I had known it was like this, identical to last time, but had conveniently forgotten about it. I really am worrying about the amount I am eating, not remotely hungry, just desperate! CLB1 and berrycravings, your experiences sound even worse!! Thoughts are with you!

As for worrying about money etc, I was exactly the same last time, but the great thing is, once you see your baby you just don't care if you are broke, you know somehow you'll manage (though that's not very helpful for now!!)

Have my scan tomorrow! Had booked a private early one in the vain hope it would calm my nerves a bit - kipper will be thinking of you too, remember we were having one on the same day.

sanielle · 03/06/2010 09:00

Hello out there! I would like to join your thread (I promise to spend the rest of today reading all 12 pages

I am on my first ever pregnancy after trying for about 3 years!!! And finally giving up!

I love it although most of days are currently spent being sick or shouting at my husband, cats, strangers and crying.

Hello Hope everyone's well?

Good luck to deedee and kipper on scans today...enjoy
margie32 - your post made me cry What a very difficult time you have been through, unimaginable. But on your scan, that's excellent! Here's to happy and healthy pg for everyone here
kitty30 - i'm pg with dc3 and have felt terrified/overwhelmed and excited in each pg! All normal!
CLB1 - Ironing lady !! I gave up on ironing once had ds1! Glad to here you're are signed off work - keep looking after yourself, again hope you start feeling better soon.
princessali - it's the hormones..they're a nightmare. I was screaming at my dh at 6am this morning like a loon Poor neighbours. I'm sure it will pass once you're into the 2nd trimester Be kind to yourself.
mrsfrisby - all normal worries...I went through our finances (still do) constantly. It NEVER worked on paper , but we survive, eat well, are clothed and still have a roof over our heads etc...somehow people just manage, so please try not to worry too much. Also you do get child benefit and tax credits if earn less than 60,000 or something? stillsurprised - yes, all the worries do change to new one's when lo is here! But with ds2 I was much more relaxed, no worries at all and it was just a dream

Well I've just been exhausted and sick, grumpy, fed up etc etc. Pg this time with a 2yrs old and 11month old is very hard...it's the constant having to cook meals etc when i just want to curl up. This is definately the last one, we always wanted 4 but I think 3 will now be our perfect number (I know I'm very lucky.) But heyho not too long until should start feeling better {wishful thinking emoticon]!! Have midwife appointment this afternoon, hoping she'll be nice as my last midwife isn't there now Then will need to see consultant as I have high risk pregancies. And wait for scan date which will prob be end june/beginning of July - soooo long!

Think I will tell work next Weds (I'll be in 9th week). As boss is going away for a couple of week's so will have time to let it sink in before seeing me again Have been looking at early scan's but really don't want an internal scan so think going to give it a miss

mamasunshine · 03/06/2010 09:28

Morning all (she says, wiping the puke from the corner of her mouth)... Today not such a good one in terms of the sickness. Even the ginger beer has failed me!
Thanks for your messages of support - this is one of the few things that's keeping me going at the moment.
Great news Sanielle - I am sure the trick is to stop trying, fertility seems very contrary like that!
