Hollyoaks · 29/04/2010 19:44

Pagen - congratulations

Sassles - glad the interview went well.

Five - sorry to hear about dh's grandad

Angel - keep us posted, this may be it.

Sorry for no more personals, hope everyone is well. Absolutely knackered after work, back is in agony. I've had tonnes of bh's tightenings again today, can't believe I've still got 4 and a half weeks to go.

peakyispreggers · 29/04/2010 19:53

Evening all,

Welcome to the world Jack John, congratulations pagen, hope you are feeling well.
Big feel better soon wishes to all the mums feeling poorly today, hope you can get lots of rest.
cupcake i had a great sleep this afternoon, at least that was an hour when i wasnt eating!
SK how wonderful to think your baby will be here next week, hope it goes how you want it to.
carikube I think these last few weeks will be full of anxiety for all of us, and its totally normal to freak out a bit when things dont turn out as expected. I went to the MW on fri expecting another normal visit, and was told i may have pre-eclampsia, and to come back next week. My DP was away for the weekend, and i spent a couple of days feeling totally stressed and tearful, before going up to antenatal day unit, and everything was fine, BP normal, baby HR perfect.
five big hug
ML totally jealous of your shopping spree, enjoy it for all of us still stuck in the same old maternity clothes!

Carikube · 29/04/2010 20:15

pagen many congratulations on the arrival of Jack John!

alle I can remember what my contractions were like with DD (it was only a year ago after all...) and for me they were just like bad period pains. When I phoned the MLU I wasn't sure whether I really was in labour as I was still able to talk relatively easily through them but the MW on the phone said that she could tell that my voice changed whilst they were going on so knew that they were actual contractions.

Thanks to you all for your words of reassurance - I'm sure that everything will be ok and the fact that she didn't send me to hospital should be enough to reassure me that there's nothing to worry about. Peaky you're quite right about the anxiety in the last weeks - we've always refused the Downs screening etc so have no idea what our odds are of anything being wrong and it is only as labour gets closer that I start to wonder 'what if', especially as at my age my odds are getting shorter...

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 29/04/2010 21:15

Pagen - congratulations

Angel - glad the deputy head is sorting it out for you.

Five - so sorry about your DH's grandfather

Sassles - glad the interview went well, best of luck with it.

Alle - I can remember my contractions with DD but they are difficult to describe. I was able to talk through them right up until second stage but they were unmistakeable once they got going. The early contractions (I was induced so should have known what to look for) weren't clear though so it took me a while to notice what was going on. They got stronger v.quickly though.

pigleychez · 29/04/2010 21:32

Five- Sorry to hear about DH's grandpa

SK- Tuesday isnt long now

Carikube- Understandable to be teary. Its scary when someone mentions complications. All sorts go through your mind. From your research and the mw lack of urgency it sounds like things should be fine.[hugs]
I too have low iron levels - although from research my levels of 10.5 are just on the border line. Do you know your levels?

Angel-glad the school are taking things seriously.

Sassles- glad it went well for you... fingers crossed now

Pagen- Huge congratulations on the birth of Jack John. Thanks for updating us Mummy/Nanny Pagen

Hollyoaks- Hope the back improves

During DD's nap today I was out weeding the front border and planted some lavendar. Workmen were also out repairing the pavement after the gas works and were joking about me going into labour on them. One actually looked quite scared!
Maybe some physical exercise will get things going

hormonalmum · 29/04/2010 21:40

Congrats to Pagen on your new arrival.

Five - sorry to hear of your sad news. Each time I have been pregnant there has been a loss in the family (either just prior or during pregnancy) and it is very sad to think that person will not meet the new arrival. We lost my dad the month before dd was conceived and the pregnancy was a major help iykwim.

Sk - hope that your ds makes his entrance into the world as you hope. It sounds like you have a plan which should at least put you at ease?

Sassles - well done on getting through the interview - it sounds like it was a tough day.

Angel - hope the school get the bullying issue sorted for you asap.

Pamelet - Red leaf capsules - I am having 4 a day, but think you can take up to 6.

Sorry, not able to flick back for anymore personals.

There was a discussion about sweeps. I had one with ds - I went into labour on the way home! The mw said I was 4cm when I had it though so I was probably about to go anyway. Ds was born 9 hours later.

I had 1 hour of painful contractions last night and same again this morning. Had few more tonight but they have gone off again now. My mw told me that 3rd labours tend to be unpredictable so each time I think this is it, the pains have ebbed away.

I am seeing the mw again tomorrow, so I might get her to see if I am dilating (albeit slowly)

Thank you to everyone who has reassured me that I will cope with 3, it is just being heavily pregnant with young ones to look after is very hard.

Hope everyone is well.

booboomonster · 29/04/2010 21:46

Pagen and pagensmum congratulations and well done! Welcome to Jack! Hope your carpal tunnel starts to calm down (last time I had it badly and it went as soon as I gave birth, but I know thats not always the case. I imagine it will depend on water retention calming down?) Good luck with the first few days.

sweetkitty thanks for mentioning your stitch a fortnight ago - glad it?s not just me - it seems to have been a bit better after a good nights sleep, but good to know its prob not anything worrying!

Feeling much better today after DH was home and gave me most of the day off. A relief - just felt so tired suddenly. Given up on potty training until Monday - DD was getting a bit stressed about it and I don?t want it to become an ordeal (for all of us!). I bought some stickers and am going to make a chart so try a different approach.

Carikube sorry to hear about your rubbish visit. How low is your iron? I had a blood test today, due to low ish iron last MW visit. It wasn?t low per se - just low compared to my previous level (was 12.4 now 10.4) so I?ve only been on one tablet. But am hoping it won?t make any difference in terms of them letting me use the Midwife only centre as I?ve heard it can if your iron is low. Have been eating apricots and drinking orange juice so hoping my levels are back up. No side effects but am probably not taking enough of the tablets to get the nasties. I know what you mean about not having everything just fine as usual. Hope the heartbeat isn?t a problem but like others have said, they would have wanted to do something straight away if they were worried. Hope it doesn't stress you out too much.

Rachel and co - it is stupid about due dates being so rigid - they should definately take into account your cycle. Luckily I am quite standard (I think) so my dates seem to match up with theirs - though maybe this is coincidence so far! DD was born on due date and though I?d love to repeat that I think it?s probably unlikely! squirtsmum and others - I can imagineit must be so annoying when people are constantly asking you whether anything?s happening - it?s not like you aren?t wondering that yourself!

Can?t bear to read that sweeps link either - will keep it in mind if I go over! Good to have the link tho! I was crossing my legs reading your tonsils comment sweetkitty ! Hope you manage to get induced when you want to.

sassles well done with completing the interview - good luck, keep us posted about how you get on.

Pjen definately the worst is the first 12 weeks. I felt guilty for feeling like crap, partly because I didn?t ?look? pregnant and it?s hard to garner sympathy! Plus it?s just hard to get your head round feeling so rubbish when you don?t look physically different! But it does go very very quickly, so if you can - enjoy it! (but equally if you can?t, don?t worry - I pretty much feel miserable being pregnant!)

pigley impressed at lavendar planting during DDs nap! I just drop straight asleep when my DD goes down, so respect! I did do the garden a month or so ago and it was so worth it - is looking great now. Just need to whitewash the walls?.. hmm

Hope everyone else is well - I was feeling very tearful and tired yesterday but feel so much better after sleeps today. Hormones, eh? what do they do to us? Hope you are all managing to stay positive - the end is nigh!!!

Gils · 29/04/2010 21:46

Right mammoth post time. Not posted on new thread and its moved so quickly.

First of congrats BRB and Pagen. Also congrats to auntie MDM. Getting very everytime I hear another baby arrving.

Pamelat Glad ECV went well, I also can not remember what contractions are like. Because DH works away and last irth so quick I am continually second guessing every movement.
Caribuke Good luck to your DH
Pigley So nice of your friends to send flowers and its always nice to get complemented on your DC. Doesn't happen much here, mine is a terror, won't sit still for a second
Lizzie - So with you on sickness I have woke up feeling dreadful today. We spoke about have 3 kids once but no chance. This pregnancy is taking so much out of me. Even just getting DD out of bath or dressed makes me need to sit down just now
Five - Glad mw seems a bit more supportive but you know your body so make sure you keep pushing them
Heffa - Hope sweep works for you
SK - Thing I tried all that to bring on labour last time, finally gave up night before I was due to be induced and went into labour! How did you DD enjoy Strathclyde Park, never been there is there lots to do?
ML - Congrats to Olivia, you and your boobs!! Very of shopping andweight loss. Never been much of shopper, always end up spending money on others. Hope night feeding calms down for you
Angel - Hope you get school sorted and keep us updated
Caribuke - SIL had something similar with her DS. Had to go for weeklyscans and reg monitoring but he arrived very healthy and nothing been mentioned of irregular heartbeats since.

Not a lot to report here. Now very bored of mat leave. DD has started having nightmares and bedtime becoming a bit of a nightmare. Has always been fantastic sleeper - think she knows all is changing!
Had midwife today (well doctor since no appointments). Everything seems fine, never got to hear heartbeat today cause doc has no equipment. Head still not engaged so bit demorilised.

Can you have BH if head not engaged?

DH seems to be getting kept slightly more locally this time. In Newcastle tonight. He is only just getting over sickness bug, luckily DD got rid of quickly and I missed.

Sorry about typos!!

TomlinTowers · 29/04/2010 21:49

Hi All

Firstly - many congrats to Pagen and welcome to Jack John - I love the name. 30 hours - - well done!!

Thank you for all your messages - I had a lovely time at the seaside. Mum and Dad came with us, so DS1 had a great time building sandcastles, digging trenches, sploshing in rock pools - and I was just sat in chair watching and reading my book! In the sun!! Was so restful, feel really chilled out tonight as a result.

Schipo - yes it is the Yorkshire coast - Scarborough to be precise. I love Scarborough (away from all the crowds round the slot machines) and Whitby, Robins Hood Bay - all fab places!

However, was nearly embarrassed as sat on beach and needed to go to loo - waited 5 minutes and then had to run (well, trot) to the loo because just couldn't hold it!! Nearly wet myself in the middle of the beach!! Will not be doing that again!

38 week MW appt tomorrow - am sat here at the moment with massive BHs and back ache, so wondering if she will have a look tomorrow and tell me if anything is happening. Would be good to know! Also next MW appt will be at 40 + 3, so wondering if will be booked in for a sweep then - didn't get that far with DS1 as went at 39 + 3. Is a sweep automatic at the first appt where you are technically overdue, and can the MW do it at the GP's surgery??

alle - I can still remember the contractions with DS1. I was induced as waters had broken and hadn't started active labour, and I just remember that when I was mid-contraction I just had to breathe and put my head down on the bed, but I don't remember them being excruciatingly painful tbh. Just like really bad period pains that sort of take your breath away. I hope my memory is correct!

Whoever asked about due dates - with DS1, I thought I was due 25th May, scan re-dated me at 30th May, waters broke on - guess what - 25th May (although because didn't go into labour DS1 didn't arrive until 27th May as had to be induced). With this one, on my dates, LO is due 18th May, MW said 21st May on LMP, and then redated 14th May by scan. I still think it is 18th May because I was using OPKs and have v regular cycles - but we will see.

Angel - glad deputy head is taking issue seriously, hopefully your DD1 will get the support she needs to rebuild her confidence in school.

Sassles - glad the interview went well, let us know how you get on!

Five - about your DH's grandfather. Will the funeral be a long way for you to travel? Hope you manage to make all the necessary arrangements without any added stress.

Carikube - I agree that if MW had any worries you would have been referred straight up to hospital. When I was 36 weeks with DS1, I mentioned to MW in passing that movements had changed and within an hour was in the hospital ante natal unit hooked up to all sorts of monitors to check his movements. If they are worried, they won't leave you, so the fact that you haven't been referred is a good sign IMO.

Can't remember any other news - brain like a sieve and trying to keep up with leaders' debate as well - tbh getting fed up of electioneering now, just want to get out and cast my vote and see what happens - just hope that this LO allows me to get to polling station!

Gils · 29/04/2010 21:52

Sorry forgot

Squrtsmum My DM has been like that since I told her I was pregnant. Can actually predict when she will phone and text - driving me crazy
Five So sorry about your DH grandad, hope everything works out and you can get there
Sassles Congrats interview out of way, will keep fingers crossed for you
ML sure it was you who gave advice on bf and not letting them go for more than 2 hours. Thanks for advice and I will try that this time. My DD slept most of day after sh was born then it felt like a loosing battle after that.

pamelat · 29/04/2010 22:11

just a quickie re sweep. A friend of mine had one last Tues and gave birth on Frday at 37+5 so guess they sometimes work

schipo · 29/04/2010 22:41

Congratulations Pagan! Looking forward to hearing more.

Carikube - sorry your mw appt didn't go smoothly - ectopic heart beat is new on me too - never occurred to me that that's what MWs listen for.

Five sorry your baby won't meet his great grandfather

Tomlin - yes it was robin hood's bay I remember particularly, and boggle hole

Twentieth fingers crossed for you

I had MW visit this morning. Baby is 4/5ths engaged now so that's steadily progressing. Feel like i need to avoid walking and bending over to keep baby in for another two weeks. Also trying to avoid coughing I am getting stitches under bump too. Nothing else to report thankfully.

Your stories of constant phone calls are funny. My DM's approach to grandparenthood sounds closer to Sweetkitty's. She is maintaining a passive formal interest at a distance though. Probably suits us both tbh. Interested to see how/if that develops. It's her first GC too!

I've been discovering joys of soaking feet in water that would be way too hot to bathe in this evening - i thoroughly recommend it

SquirtsMum · 29/04/2010 23:17

Congratulations Pagan - 30 hrs and much respect!! Fabulous name for the little man too

The thing is it's MIL that doesn't stop phoning, she lives a whole 20mins away and would be one of the first to know if anything was happening with DGC5! Where as DM, who lives 300 miles away and for who it's DGC1, sends a txt a few times a week and I call her 3 times a week, mainly for a chat and a catch up on the gossip back home!! DM is coming over for a week once Squirt is here and it'll be the first time the mums have met... this could be interesting

xxxx

sweetkitty · 30/04/2010 07:05

Morning everyone will update the list with our new arrival in a bit, wonder who will be next? 1st May tomorrow it's so strange knowing when this one will be born, usually I would be all booked in for my homebirth, be tripping over the gas and air canisters and not have a clue when I would go.

Had to get up and have something to eat this morning woke at 6am for the toilet and my tummy was rumbling so much it kept me awake so got up, then DP followed me downstairs all paranoid that's him off until the 18th May now so that's great.

My friends have been really supportive and I probably get texts every day asking me if I am OK and if there's anything they can do for me like if they are going shopping. None of my family have called or texted at all. SIL is the only close family we have on DPs side as well, both his parents are dead his Mum died very suddenly last July so never knew she was having another grandchild. Her first grandson too

schipo - looking good there maybe you will be a bit early

Gils - it was me who said about the BFing born out of experience, DD1 was the same slept most of her first few days which led to us being readmitted and her almost being tube fed, in the end I had to express for her. It was a horrible time for us and if it weren't for MN I think she would have been FF. Even if they are not really feeding just having little sucks every so often the drops of colostrum are so precious and it brings your milk in faster as well.

Oh you asked about Strathclyde park, it's about 5 mins away from us so we go every week. There's a few good swing parks and the ducks and swans to feed. Also the theme park and a bowling/amusement/soft play area. We go down give the girls a few turns on the carosels, soft play for an hour then the swings, tires them out!

Tomlin - your day at the beach sounds fab. I was thinking about the election as well, I will have a one day old baby with me, probably should have been more organised and gone for a postal vote!

booboomonster - sorry about the tonsils comment I was about 10 days overdue with DD2 at the time and I think the MW knew I was desperate, she was also completely crazy, we still laugh about her at toddlers. Aches, pains and stitches are very common, your stomach is so squashed and with the baby moving and stretching all the time nerves get squashed and everything is at breaking point IYSWIM

pigley - so jealous of you being able to get out in the garden, I am desperate to plant things.

pamelat - I have been on 6 raspberry leaf tablets since 34 weeks only thing is sometimes they repeat on you yuck!

Right enough blabbing from me, have architect coming round later to discuss the plans some more and the tribe will be up soon.

Morning all, have a little time to spare as its a teacher training day today so not as much urgency to get in and get prepared.

Had an awful nights sleep, woke up about two with nasty lower stomach cramps, thought they were contractions at first, but couldn't keep off the toilet and felt really nauseous too so think it was something I ate. Managed to get back to sleep at some point but me and dh feel exhausted this morning. Can't put my finger on it but just don't feel myself, no appetite, light-headed and just desperate for some sleep. Might see if I can come home early today and have a nap before I pick dd up.

SK - thanks for the updated list, always useful to see whose next. Alle, hormonal, Lizzie & Squirts could all go any time. How exciting to have a date for your ds too and to have dh off all that time, bliss.

Tomlin - your day at the beach sounds lovely, its still a bit cold here to take dd but that's definitely one of the activities we'll be squeezing in this summer. That and a big portion of fish and chips.

Squirts - my mil calls constantly too, but not to ask about the baby, generally to talk about herself. The current topic of conversation is the new kitchen dh is fitting for her at the weekend. It's amazing how many times she rings and 'I'm in the bath', though that is probably quite true at the minute. Notched up two soaks last night before my back eased.

Pigley - your mad, when dd has a nap I'm instantly on MN, fb or watching TV.

Carikube - like others have said, try not to worry about the mw appointment and step away from Google.

Gils - poor dh still feeling rough. I've had loads of bh's throughout both of my pg's, with this one from before 20 weeks but they do become more intense towards the end. I have to breath through them now, the head is 2/5ths engaged but not sure if that has any relevance.

Sweeps - never had one so have no idea what they entail but they don't sound like much fun. Will be trying to avoid that.

Hope we all have a good bank holiday weekend and have a few more announcements soon.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 30/04/2010 07:36

Gils - don't worry about baby not being engaged, I was told that subsequent babies often don't engage until you're actually in labour. Mine hasn't yet (afaik) and I've been having plenty of BH etc.

Pamelat - thanks for the hope re sweeps I have no idea if it'll work but would prefer it to induction I think. MW found protein in my urine yesterday so need to see what happens with that tomorrow.

Tomlin - know what you mean about the election. We've already voted (postal votes) but DH still insists on watching all the coverage

SquirtsMum - the phone calls sound v.annoying.

re gardening - I really should be neglecting ours but can't bring myself. I've been having to direct DH how to do all the really tough stuff. It's looking good though and hopefully will be growing some of our own veg this year.

mustbemadno3 · 30/04/2010 08:44

congratulations pagen wow big baby!

gils i can sympathise with the sleep time as my soon is doing the same thing and hes 12! never had a problem with him sleeping at all and now hes having nightmares screaming as if someone has killed him in the night and thinking he hasnt slept at all when hes actually been in bed asleep for an hour. driving me mad! Last night he was up at 3.00a.m looking for his inhaler which once again he has lost. I have told him he must take responsibility for his medication at his age. Hes had so many replacements from the drs that they are going to charge us Im sure, hes already had a telling off from them.

Sorry not many personal replys but just checking in quickly while I have a connection.

Having loads of twinges and feeling sick but nothing happens. Im getting bored now!

Cant remember who asked about a show but mine was a big clear jelly plug with blood in it, unmistakeable.
But I get alot of mucusy greenish discharge and dont really know what it is think its just the cervix softning ready for bday.

pigleychez · 30/04/2010 09:07

Hope all those with MW appointments go well today

Schipo- With you on the coughing. I find it can really hurt my bump and I have to hold my tummy. Guess its cause the muscles are tight already.
Hot foot soak sounds lovely

Hollyoaks- Hope you feel better soon

Re- gardening. I have to do the front borders when DD's sleeping as the road can be quite busy and im not fast enough to run after her now if she wanders too near the road. She likes to help me in the back garden though.
Im kinda thinking i would have even less time when number 2 comes plus it will be nice to be able to sit in a finished garden with baby whilst DD happily plays [dreaming!]
Also working on a different therory this time round. With DD I did alot of sitting about relaxing with my feet up and she got far too comfy in there, refusing to come out! Hopefully the activity will encourage this one out

One problem though-- I think ive pulled a muscle in my bum from digging yesterday!

Waiting for the gasmen guys to come this morning to repair the side path then we have our new front door being fitted this afternoon. We inherited a horrible manky yellowy stained UPVC door when we moved in last year so it will be nice to have a new shiney white one!

itshappenedagain · 30/04/2010 09:37

morning everyone!

pagen -congratulations!!!!

very suprised that we have not had any more arrivals yet. to all that are sleep deprived i know how you feel, with that and Ds being excited about a school trip today that he didnt get to slep till 10pm last night, meaning i got no rest or revision done im tired. on 5 more days and my exam will be over, maybe i will sleep better then. must concerntrate on reviosn though and cant seem to do anything..does anyone else feel like this?

another thing is my landlord has just called to say they will be coming to assess the painting today...in bout 15 mins, so that could be getting stared on tuesday...baby is bound to come if he starts doing that...ive only been asking for 9 weeks! think when he sees just how far gone i am that he may get his ass into gear! sorry rant over.

carikube- agree that you need to steer clear of google...can make things seem a lot worse than they are. i was told by consultant that baby's do sometimes have a hole in the heart that covers over when they are born...panicked like hell, after googling. only to be told 2 weeks later by LO's dad that they have a history of it in their family. have been told since not to worry.

pigley- hope your pulled muscle gets better soon. once your new door is fitted you will be able to stand and admire it and your weed free, beautifully planted garden.

right as landlord has been im off to the libary to get work done...as there is no cleaning to be done there!

take care all.

MarquiseDeMerteuil · 30/04/2010 10:42

Morning all!

Congratulations Pagen!

Carikube - I can sympathise with your mw visit yesterday. I also had an annoying appointment which I went to at 9am and didn't get home until 5.30pm!! The short story is that I went to the drop-in consultant to go over the results from last week's growth scan. All started well, she re-measured the bump which has grown 4cm in the last 2 weeks so now measures 36cm at 38+2 which is within normal range. She booked me in for another scan next Thursday just to double-check all ok, but baby's heartbeat was strong and it's still in a good position and 1/5 engaged. So far so good.

Then, just as I was leaving she took my BP which was really high. She took it again on a different machine to double-check and it was still high, so she sent me straight to the day assessment unit at the hospital to have my BP monitored, full blood and urine checks and foetal monitoring, because she was worried about pre-eclampsia (although I didn't have any other symptoms at all). Had to wait for 2hrs there before getting seen (it works on a triage basis like A&E). Fortunately had a good book with me and had stocked up on food in M&S on the way in to the hospital, so had a little picnic in the waiting room. Good news was that all 3 BP checks they did there were normal, and baby was doing really well on the monitoring, blood all came back normal. Urine protein test still wasn't back from the lab, but they sent me home and told me to ring for the results of that in the morning (must do that now!). I've got a mw appointment today anyway, so have to make sure she takes my blood pressure again. Hopefully will all be normal and that will be the end of the annoyances!

Rachel - my DSis spoke very highly of the care at Stoke Mandeville, she said all the midwives, doctors and other hospital staff were lovely. Sounds like you'll be in good hands!

Squirt - I'm also booked in for a potential sweep at 40+3, but consultant said that it's just provisional and I can decide not to have it if I don't want to, she just wanted to get an appointment in the calendar given the delays I've experienced getting appointments before! I've no idea if I'll decide to have the sweep or not at the moment, but it feels good to know that there is a date in the diary.

Five sorry to hear about your DH's Gramps.

Pigley lol at your story about the cat giving you a fright! There is a lovely friendly little cat that lives somewhere near me who has started to visit every day. It sits outside my kitchen doors meowing at me until I let it in, then it just sits on my lap (it's here now!). I've never fed it, so no idea why it has singled us out. I wonder if cats are attracted to pregnant women?! I always grew up with cats and have been on at DH to get one for years, but he's allergic . He seems to like the visiting one though, have heard him talking to it!!

Angel and Pigley - I'm another hungry one! I have been eating for Britain for the last week, but weighed myself this morning and have lost 1lb . That's after yesterday having a massive bowl of muesli with yogurt, blueberries and a banana for breakfast. A chicken sandwich, bag of cashew nuts and raisins and big fruit smoothie for lunch, some crisps, carrots, olives and houmous early evening then, when some friends came for dinner, I did a roast chicken with roast potatoes and salad followed by chocolate brownies and ice cream. I don't know where it's all going!

Sassles - sounds like the interview went well, it must be such a relief to have put it behind you, fingers crossed for a good result! Now you need LO to stay put for a little while to give you a good rest before it arrives.

Gils am pretty sure you can have BH if head not engaged. My DSis was having BH's for about 4 weeks before her LO arrived, but at her mw appt less than 24 hours before she was born, mw told her the head wasn't engaged at all!

Tomlin - glad you had a good day at the beach. DH's parents live in a village just outside Whitby so our LO will soon be familiar with all those beaches too!

Right, that's enough for me today. I was convinced I would be able to post little and often when I was on mat leave, but seem to have less time to go on here than when I was at work! Yesterday's unexpected day out of the house didn't help!

for all ladies in low iron, lentils are really rich in iron, you can make them in a stew with potato and leek or spinachs, one of my favourite dishes, so that's a bonus...
re remebering contractions: as i understand it, it is not like you don't remember like it didin't happened, it is more like you' re memory is not accurate, thank goodness for that, also did a bit of an experiment on my sister, a month after the birth, she said it was horrible, no way in hell she will be doing this again, 6 months after the birth, it was terrible, yes, but not lifethreatening or something, one year after the birth, it wasn't that terrible reallu, sure not nice, but... two years after the birth, it was quite alright, it hurts a bit, but is short and not so bad, two years and a half after the birth, it was a walk in the park, doesn't hurt, can't wait to do it again,.....sounds familiar??? i, for one, can't wait to the walk in the park face...
on a funny note, it is not dm annoying me, it is df, he keeps insisting on the baby being named after him, already told him 157 times, and counting, that it is not going to happen, and we already chosen another name....
i just looked the list, i'm the next one and officially overdue now, not much to report either, bit of contractions and nothing else, yet, getting paranoid with contractions now...
feeling quite grumpy today, and i have patience for no one, so if any post comes in a not so nice tone or wrong choice of words, don't mind me, thought i warm everybody in advance.
