thanks stac I hope your right! He was pretty manic yesterday so wouldnt be surprised if hes tired himself out.

I was thinking earlier wouldnt it be really fun if everyone on this thread could meet up in RL? Obv this is near enough impossible, it would be the biggest coffee morning in history!

stac14 · 06/05/2010 17:14

it would be fab though us all being able to meet up since we know so much about each other it would be awkward or anything. as you say dh totally impossible though, but at least we can keep chatting on here x

Chulita · 06/05/2010 17:38

That would be so cool! Although you're the only ladies who know I might have piles, lol!

mlic thanks I think everything is fine, I had a bath and that got LO moving, I think hes prob just having a lazy day, like me!
Also your diet sounds alot like mine, except I eat alot more biscuits! Im a sucker for smoked cheese on crackers too. Its all sugar and fat, with a couple of bits of fruit thrown in for good measure lol.

chulita LOL yeah Ive told you ladies things on here that I havent told my RL friends and dont intend to! Maybe anonimity (sp?) is a good thing lol

beckyg123 · 07/05/2010 08:39

MLIC hope you enjoy your treatments today- reflexology is amazing! I did my training at college a couple of years ago but never took it any further- wish i could reach my feet to do myself but struggle to tie my laces at the moment! Good luck with the BP check

DH yeh- i am sick of feeling guilty all the time so decided its time to take control! I have found my mind going blank when i think of what to have and thats when i end up eating crap! Yesterday went really well for me- chopped up my fruit and had it with a yoghurt so it felt like more of a meal that just a bit of fruit! Baked potatoes are really cheap at the moment- asda have 4 for 50p! Could have that with tuna and sweetcorn or beans. I intend on buying salad stuff little and often as i have also ended up putting lots in the bin coz it goes off! I also bought a big tray of chicken breasts and separated them into bags and put in freezer. It seems like such a chore tho! I just hope i have the motivation to keep it going!
violet that is lovely of your DH making a smoothie each day for you- might drop that into conversation with my DH! hint hint

stac and violet love the idea of meeting up- and anyone else who wants to travel to glasgow! Where and when?

stac how did the dog get on at vets?

We're just off out for MW app this morning then going to aquanatal!

Hope everyone has a good day

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/05/2010 09:16

Morning all,

LO is bouncing around v happily at the mo! Think hes going to have another active day today

Im going to my grans with my mum and sister today as she is selling her house and has some potential buyers coming round to view it so we are going to spruce it up a bit for her. Then we're all going to go out for lunch somewhere, weather doesnt look great today but should still be a good day.

becky I seem to be ok when it comes to eating fairly healthy meals, its snacking throughout the day Im guilty of. Crisps, biscuits, general crap lol, its got to stop! Ill have to stock up on more fruit. Trouble is I always have a biscuit with my morning cuppa so will still buy them, and DP and I have sweets in the evening while watching tv so will still be buying them. Ive got to resist temptation!

Hi Everyone,
How interesting this election is being, i wonder what will happen???

I have been interested in the book discussion, i brought Gina Ford a few days ago, i started reading it from front to back but just flicked through it and saw the routine for the whole day...........im scared to death now!!! is that what our life will turn in to?? I am having the wobbels a bit i think.
I went to my first antenatal class yesterday, on my own as DH didnt feel confortable coming. MW started going on about last week, so i had to speak up in front of the class and say that i was told this was the first one, she said this is the second one but i could stay, so i did because we did a labour ward walk which was very interesting. I felt very awqward though as i was the only one on my own and felt a wally for missing the first one. I had phoned the hospital twice to chech though and twice they told me the 6th so a bit put out about that.
Think im just feeling a bit down because im really tired, had to travel for 2 hours to a meeting yesterday, then vote, then the class for two hours from 7 so feel washed out today and quite low.
Also i just want to get on in the house but the decorator couldnt fit us in till August, he might be able to do it on a weekend but still waiting for him to let us know, i just want it done now in a big was. My DH is lovely but really not being very helpfull at the moment, keeps moaning that he has no spare time to himself, what does he think i do in my 'spare time' washing, cleaning, organise jobs, look after the finances and work full time. Tut to everything at the moment, might crawl back under the duvet and stay there for a bit!! so sorry to be so self indulged, should probably stay away till im feeling a bit better!!

Chulita · 07/05/2010 12:03

viks, like someone else said, take the books as a rough guide. Every baby is different, DD settled into her own routine at about 10 mths so she took a long time and no amount of cajoling helped. Even now her routine shifts every month or so as she gets older and needs less sleep/more food/more playtime etc. A strict routine is good for some not so good for others. Don't panic! Hope you manage to squeeze a nap in!

I'm really pissed off with Mamas&Papas at the mo they're money thieving overpriced gits imo. Not impressed at all with their online 'service'.

I'm off for a nap, shattered today for some reason!

viksam · 07/05/2010 12:44

Thanks chulita ur right about the books, cant possibley work just as it says, its way to rigid.
Whats happened with Mamas&Papas? I also think they are overpriced, thats why i was so suprised when i decided to buy one of their cotbeds, but i got it through an independant so they are dealing with all the crap, they deliver for free too so they are holding it for me till im ready. Perhaps u could source whatever u wanted from an independent?
Enjoy ur nap!!

Wonderstuff · 07/05/2010 13:26

viksam take GF with a pinch of salt - you're baby, being unable to read the book, may or may not settle into a routine that rigid. My dd was really happy to just go with the flow, I did spend a huge amount of time feeding her, but she was so laid back she would sleep anywhere and we never had to worry about early bedtime because she never got crabby if she was up late.

chulita do share your M&P woes - I won't go back after an extrodinarily expensive shirt I brought from them proved impossible to iron and my complaint about it fell on deaf ears.

Election been interesting - not holding out much hope for my CTC's though, can't imagine a pay rise for an awful long time either. Suppose if the economy stays stable that would be great.

Basically I bought a lovely skirt from them in the sales but when it arrived I realised I needed the next size up. Turns out they don't do exchanges so I have to return it for a refund and buy another one only the sale's not on and I'd have to pay the return postage and then postage for the next one so it would work out at an extra £15. I'm just pissed off because Boots, Mothercare, Jojomamanbebe, Isabella Oliver etc all do exchanges but M&P don't. Gets me because so many people buy online because they don't have that many shops, and it's not easy to buy the right size first time...just really annoyed about it. I know they don't have to exchange stuff but so many other places do, and they're expensive so you'd think they would. And the lady on the phone was really abrupt...[sigh] I'll just squeeze my ladylike hips into the smaller size and hope it stretches
Is anyone else impatient to find out who's actually going to be leading our country?

God its just one thing after another. DH has come home in a fowl mood now because his handbreak has broken on his car, he's had a stressfull day at work and he is apparently stressed about everything at home as well...Hmmm if i recall im dealing with everything at home so what the frigg does he have to be stressed about. I can almost feel my blood pressure rising as he sits in front of his computer trying to work out how to fix his hand break!!! I have had a lovely relaxing day as well, caught up on some sleep and still managed to get some jobs done and i feel like he has come in and i am back to square one. Im just going to leave him alone. He seriously needs to find some sort of coping mechanism when he is stressed because its only going to get worse when the baby is here and i cant be dealing with this unplesent atmosphere.
Im sorry to rant, its great to have an outlet!!
M&P have really cornered the market and i thing its appauling that they dont do exchanges, what a joke!

stac14 · 07/05/2010 19:23

Evening all,

This election is a farce, after all the people turned away from polling stations and the cock up with the postal vote, they should be made to do it again. The results a farce. Maybe it wouldnt have changed it but at least it would be the true count.

chulita thats a joke, i think mamas and papas are over priced too so obviously the sales are your best bet. Take your business elsewhere hun

becky forgot to update on that. We took him last night, the vet says he has an infection which could be causing him to feel so lousy. They are treating that first then will look at his kidney problem, so a far better outlook now. Dont blame your friend for leaving the pdsa. Any ideas when we're meeting up?

mlic sounds like a lovely day, must ask my friend to do it for me. Can it help sleep patterns? Mine is crap lol

viksam this is my 2nd baby and gina fords book frightened me lol. As has been said its trial and error, babys are resiliant and more than capable of telling you what they want lol. My dp helps in the house when he can be bothered, but he makes an effort not to moan as he knows i'm in pain. He'l be fine when lo's here

How have you been wonder? And how was your day dh? memphis you ok? Thinking of you hun. Hope everyone else is well. XXX

stac14 · 07/05/2010 19:27

viksam its a nightmare, they have a stressful day and we cop it. Dp did the same due to a problem with his van, moaned and argued with me then tried to say i'm hormonal. Men!! X

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/05/2010 19:42

Evening everyone,

vik its really horrible when my DP is in a mood, I feel like whacking him round the head it really winds me up! Hope you get back to normal soon

stac my day was good thanks, I went to the harvester with my mum, gran, sister and nephew and had a really nice (big!) lunch. Then my mum and I went to tk maxx this afternoon and she bought LO a little blue bundle consisting of a bib, bodysuit, sleepsuit, sheet thing for putting over your shoulder to catch sick up and a little pair of trousers with feet attached. All this for £10! A very lovely bargain and making me more and more excited to meet LO .
Hope you had a nice day

Chulita · 07/05/2010 20:26

My dad just phoned to say that my mum thinks one of her friends has killed himself so they're going round to his house to check on him. I'm praying he's alive and well cos my mum will blame herself for not doing enough if anything's happened...I'm so worried about it, hopefully dad'll phone later to let me know...
Sorry to put a dampner on things, it's playing on my mind
