Hope you feel better soon mlic, to be honest I dont think many people are on here tonight anyway!

Wonderstuff · 04/06/2010 21:03

Hi all- just catching up and steadfastly ignoring dd who is still awake and chatting away - we spent all day at the farm park - it was roasting, she didn't nap, she really should have just collapsed by now.

Today was a bit hot for me - just so sticky - better than rain though - at least dd was entertained.

B day feels like it is finally getting close now, 2 weeks left of work for me. Should start getting organised really, everyone else seems to be washing baby clothes - we have one vest atm - think we might need a few more, seem to remember getting through half a dozen a day with dd - amazing the amount of poo and vomit she produced.

anisfers will be fab having dh look after little one - my dh did it for a couple of weeks when I first went back to work - until then he really didn't get how hard looking after baby was, it really helped us reconnect after baby, and gave him a closeness with dd, was fantastic.

All gone quiet upstairs

stac14 · 04/06/2010 22:00

Evening all

It's been so hot all day, i am shattered. How have you all been?

wonder not long till you finish. I have loads of vests lol. Maybe you will get a long lie from dd tomorrow.

dh sounds like you had a lovely day. We are invited to bbq tomorrow night sure if we are going or not yet.

Dp's friends wife is in labour so just waiting to see what their wee surprise is. She is 12 days overdue, they starting inducing her last friday (cervical sweep) so think she is well fed up now. Hopefully not long now, tbh her hubby is an arse lmao x

Hi everyone, hope your all well, havent been on for agggggggggges so have just been trying to catch up with some of the thread!

Chulita-wow a areoplane, not your everyday purchase eh!

beckyg123-god that sounds awful, how did you fall down the stairs, are you ok? your work send off sounded lovely, it such a relief isnt it to kick back and relax a bit.

Gracie123- try not to over worry about the fundal height measurements, they can be sooo out its untrue. I know how scary it is though, had similar situation with ds1 and they thought hed be 10lb+, as it was when my waters were broken they gushed and gushed for hours, the midwife on duty said shed never seen so much amniotic fluid and ds came out 8lb 13oz so no where near as big as they thought he would be.

viksam-was it good at the show? we usually go but we had dps brother and wife down with their son so we all went down to lulworth castle on saturday for their pirate gathering. oops about the poo in the ring!

memphis83- I had to have episiotomy with ds1, to be honest it was ok at the time, but afterwards icouldnt sit down for 4 days and was in quite a lot of pain down below for 5 weeks afterwards.

Well all go here, for all those of you that remember ive got massive problems with ds1(6), weve had a rollercoaster 2 months, over easter was horrific and that continued into early may when he had several bad incidents including threatening me with broken glass when I picked him up from school, school behaviour deteriating, got called in as hed painted fuck on the table and then on the 7th id put them to bed and heard ds2 scream and ran in to find ds1 trying to suffocate ds2
Our appt came through for the pead for the 23rd july!! I rang whilst ds1 was in the middle of a bad meltdown and said i could not wait that long, they arranged a phone appointment for a few days later. we spoke on the phone at great length and the 15min call turned into 45 mins. he sent a fantastic letter to the Gp asking for her to put in a urgent refferal for CAMHS so now we are waiting for that appt to come through. Although not his field, hes worried ds1 may be showing signs of early onset bipolar, but hopefully the appt will come through quickly and we'll start getting some answers/help.

I finished work two weekends ago, a big relief! was trying to soldier on but the spd pain has come back with avenengance and was finding it nr impossible to get people undressed etc so glad thats it now until some time next year

Am starting to become moany cow now! ankles like flippen elephants feet, heartburn, spd, lots of BH and generally hot and bothered!

Have still got a few bits to buy like a changing mat and bag, cant make up my mind which bag I want though, thinking of getting one of those little wrap bundle things which is bascially a fold out mat with a pocket for wipes and nappies, dont really want a huge bag as Im not bottle feeding.

still hobbling along to my local car boot along with me crutch! the other week we went and it was poor weather, i got a amazing purchase-soft fabric baby blocks by Dwell, brand new with labels still on, a unwanted gift-bought them for £1- looked in mothercare catologue- £25!!!!!{shock] they are sweet! picked up loads of lovely toys and a musical play gym and only spent £14!!!
think the next one/two will be my last though till baby here as BH get constant after walking around so much and spd pain in the evenings makes me severly regret it!

bless you lot washing all the little clothes, havent got the energy for anything at the moment but we are decorating our room and hallway so cant wash/sort clothes/put up cot or anything till then. probably wont get round to packing hospital bag till 38weeks and Im convinced as weve got loads to do before its arrival it'll come early! wishful thinking perhaps!

anyhow thats probably a long enough post if anyones still awake after reading it! will try and be on more regulary now!

stac14 · 04/06/2010 22:46

glaston what a time of it you have had hun. Whats CAMHS? I worked for GAMH which is glasgow association for mental health, but didnt want to assume it was the same thing. How have you been managing? Will they support ds1 with medication?
I still have a fair bit to do with decorating but the spd seems to have took my nesting away. Have a lot to do but just have lack of energy. Are you all set otherwise? X

OP posts:
GlastonburyGoddess · 04/06/2010 23:09

child and adolencent mental health service. dont know how Weve been managing tbh, im not depressed but at least twice over the last few months Ive thought about driving out with ds1 and crashing the car. I wouldnt actually do something like that of course but hes been such exceptionally hard work you just feel overwhelmed and not sure how to make it through each day.

from reading about bipolar online, it sounds like they wouldnt medicate children(which is pants really as FIL diagnosed bipolar 15yrs ago, took lithium and it really helped him, hes v v stable now) it sounds like they'll more likey do behavioural therapy.

Couldnt agree more about the spd, keep looking around and thinking of all the stuff weve got to do in the next 5 weeks and its making me quite frustrated, I want to do this that and the other but the pain is too much to bear and I find being in pain 24/7 is making me soo tired too. roll on july!
think Im about set but feel like everything is focussed on ds1 at the moment, havent even really thought about names yet. oh and ds2 has chickenpox so am waiting to see if ds1 gets it, in which case, halfterm will have to be extended, which will be hard work.

what rooms are you decorating stac? and what colours.
were doing our room in a duck egg blue feature wall with v v light blue walls on the other three. cant make up my mind about the hallway yet, has to be two colours, dark on the bottom half to hide handprints, border then maybe cream, just cant decide what colour.

stac14 · 05/06/2010 00:04

thats what i was thinking regarding meds, but even if they say online they wont medicate think they need to assess each case individually. I can understand how you came to feel that way with the way things have been going. I would urge you to ask for support too. Even if its just talking. Did they say how quick you would be assessed? If you can push it on the basis of new baby due in 5wks. Poor ds2, hope ds1 doesnt get them too.

We are doing our bedroom with one pink/purple wallpaper and the rest either white or light pink (may be pushing to much pink on dp) halls have to be freshened up, white at top and blue at bottom as carpet is blue and the kitchen wallpaper has to be finished. Sends me into a panic thinking bout it. We dont have a room for the baby yet so she will be in with us. What bout you? Sorry to go on x

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/06/2010 08:43

Blimey GG you really have got alot on your plate havent you? I hope you get some sort of treatment or help with your ds, it cant be easy for you.

stac good luck to your DP's friend's wife. Its perfect weather here for a BBQ but I dont know anyone thats doing one. DP and I would do one but we've only got a communal garden which isnt very big and feel a bit awkward using it (I fully intend to use it when LO arrives tho!) also we cant really afford the food etc either!

Not really sure what my plans are for today apart from food shopping and getting those drawers from argos. I want to make the most of today as its forecast for rain tomoro.

stac14 · 05/06/2010 09:13

morning dp friend had a baby boy by c-section at 5am weighing 8lb 10oz. They named him Conner Jack. Mum and baby doing fine. We're in the same boat as you, wouldnt be able to have a bbq due to having a communal garden. Luckily a few family and friends have gardens. Ds is playing footy so dp dropped him off so i could get a sleep. I was awake till 6.30am.

How are you all? Whats everyone up to today? XxX

My baby is transverse at the moment (33 weeks tomorrow), am glad the chances are low of him/her staying like that. I keep feeling like he or she is trying to turn over - it's not very comfortable!

Anifersgirl · 05/06/2010 16:26

GG - It really sounds like you've been having a hard time. But it's good that the various services seem to be moving to help you now. It really is amazing how quickly they can turn young children around: kids with the most severe emotional or mental health problems can respond amazingly well to behavioural therapy. You sound like your a strong person and I'm sure with the right support your DS will be fine in the long run - not that that's much comfort for you right now..

Wonder - yeah it's great DH is getting this time with LO. MLIC - DH's parents divorced and both remarried and had lots more kids (there's 8 in total) so he's been around babies and toddlers his whole life - he's an old hand at it and I'm convinced he'll be much better at it than I'll be, he's one of those people who's just a calming presence. Friends often hand him their crying babies - we think he has magical baby pheromones, as invariably they'll stop crying and fall asleep within a couple of minutes.

We've been painting the nursery today, and I should have trusted DH - although I hated the colours as testers, they look great on the whole wall. Emster my LO is transverse at the moment too - I keep getting these jabs in the side whilst trying to paint the skirting board..

beckyg123 · 05/06/2010 18:26

No way!!! just wrote a huge big post and its disappeared! will have to redo it tomorrow coz i'll cry if i try again and it doesn't work!
Hope everyone has had a lovely day i'm also struggling with the heat but yeh, its way better than rain!

memphis83 · 05/06/2010 19:34

glaston poor you, i hope they sort everything out for you b4 baby is born.
anifers your dh sounds like he will be wonderful with baby!!
my friend is a week overdue and due to give birth at a birthing center, if she doesnt have lo by thursday then she cant labour there, after 2 sweeps there has been no change to cervix so now she has got to sort out having a home birth just incase she doesnt start by thurday!!

today i have been so tired, didnt sleep a wink all night baby moved so much i cried most of the night, my belly went very narrow and pointed and he was pushing out onto my scars on my belly button which are still really bruised! then it went really low and wide like 2 humps, it was so painful it was untrue, i have just had a bath and my stomach actually looks bruised!!!
shed is finally done, so were having a quality day together tomorrow which will be nice, hope youve all had a lovely day!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/06/2010 20:23

memphis my LO does exactly the same as what you described and it can be SO uncomfortable, especially when he does it low and wide like 2 humps and then stays like that for ages!

My LO is head down facing my back so guessing yours is too?

memphis83 · 05/06/2010 20:50

dh yes baby is in right position and engaged, the two humps i had never had b4 it was horrid, more painful when he went into a point though as the scar on my belly button is still so new and hard.

Wonderstuff · 05/06/2010 21:05

GG sounds like you are having a nightmare of it - hope that CAHMS can get you some help soon, you must be utterly exhausted.

anifers I do envy your energy.

memphis hope you get a better night tonight. I had very little sleep last night -was a state today, dh was fab, looked after me and dd well - I had restless legs - so frustrating that now, when I really feel I need to start taking it easy and keeping energy for birth I can't sleep - I seem to have alternate good and bad nights, so fingers crossed tomorrow will be a much better day. Dh says its not having to do stuff that is hard, its not having me to talk to because I am in zombie state with no sleep.

6 weeks to go

viksam · 05/06/2010 22:27

Oh becky thats really annoying! I have had that happen so i always copy every so often if its a big one.
glasto yeah the show was really good, its the first time i have been and I was suprised at how much was there. I had to leave a bit earlier than i wanted though because it got really really hot and I was getting burned and also not feeling great either.
My god it does sound like you have a lot on your plate at the moment, sounds like you are coping extremely well i have to say, must be very difficult and your still working, my god, ur a wonder woman!!
DH did you get the draws you wanted?
We are finally in the baby's room, the carpet was put down yesterday and DH has put together some furniture, he will do the cot tomorrow because the bloody fixings were missing, thats Mamas and Papas for you!! luckily it was from a shop in Dorchester rather than from the internet and I have a friend who works in Dorchester so have been able to get them today. Its all taking shape now and Im dead chuffed.
mylife did you have a nice BBQ?
Stac I have been working today so nothing exciting for me.
Hope everyone has a good sunday. x

wonder how did you sleep? i slept a lot better last night eventhough i hate thunder and we had a storm most of night so im feelig more myself today, i get restless legs too, but no swollen feet yet! im sure they will make an appearance next week at that wedding when ive got lovely shoes to wear!!
mlic bbq sounds lovely, leg of lam abd chicken!! take it ds loves peas then! when i was little my sis and bro would ask for sweets as a treat and i would ask for a bowl of peas!i always was a strange child
were going into town today to get dh a shirt for the wedding and any last minute things we need, not that i can think of anything.

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/06/2010 10:11

memphis ouch that does sound painful! At least we know our LO's are in the right position though

viksam no we are going to get the drawers today as I didnt want to waste the nice weather in a car getting hot and bothered, DP and I went for a walk along the beach instead. We are going to get the drawers today, the weather is bleak so perfect day to stay in and sort LO's room yay!

mlic yum that bbq sounds right up my street too! I dont usually like the sausage and burger type thing, I prefer to cook the food in the oven and bring it outside, much safer!

We had a storm here last night too, really loud rain, thunder and all sorts. Doesnt beat DP's snoring though!

Wonderstuff · 06/06/2010 11:15

Glad you had a better night memphis I slept a bit better, feel nearly human today, still think I'm going to have to take it a bit easy.

Weather still hot, hot, hot here - want to lie in a cool dark room until it is all over.

Gracie123 · 06/06/2010 13:56

Been on holiday over half-term (which was lovely) so I haven't been around, but I'm trying to catch up with all the pages I have missed!!

I had a terrible end to the week though. FiL has announced new girlfriend and wanted us all to come and meet her. DH was pretty nervous (first time he's ever introduced any of us to a partner since divorce 15 years ago, so must be serious) which was making me nervous, but we agreed to stop in on our way home for dinner.

We've been holidaying on a farm btw, and DH said he'd packed everything into the car, but when we got there he'd left my wash bag by the front door, so I had no make-up, no toiletries (inc. deoderant!) with me. Fortunately our host was able to provide soap/toothbrush/hairbrush etc... but I still have no make-up and have been using shampoo with no conditioner, so hair is an afro.

I have chipped nail polish and no remover, and to make matters worse, my feet decided to swell up to balloon size (probably from hours in the car!)

I wore a pretty white linen top and jeans, and just hoped that FiL's new GF wasn't too polished either (I was wrong BTW - she is a doctor and dresses very nicely).

When we finally arrive, I'm desperate for the loo, but when I get in there and see the mirror, I realise to my horror that I have to big yellow milky stains on my white linen top!!

Desperately try to pad bra with tissue, but linen top is pretty sheer and it's really obvious I have stuffed my bra

It also doesn't hide the stains, so I grab some of DS apple juice out handbag and throw that over myself. Now at least I can say I have a dirty top from apple juice leakage. (slightly less embarrassing? I'm not sure)

To make matters worse, DS (2yo) who was breast fed until 1yo, insists on sitting on my lap through dinner, and can obviously smell milk, starts nuzzling into my chest and trying to suck it off my top!!

Despite my desperate attempts to leave, DH won't take a hint and we end up staying for hours.

I don't know how I'm going to face FiL and GF again if we have to meet up again!!
