Wonderstuff · 28/05/2010 21:40

Arrgghh got restless legs, back aches - fecking hate pregnancy - I can not wait until the birth. Last week it seemed not too far off, today it feels like an impossibly long wait.

Off to Chessington with dd tomorrow - she wants to see tigers and carrots! Strange child.

Jojobil · 29/05/2010 07:25

Good morning! I know how you feel Wonder! LO has really expanded in the last week and it is very very uncomfortable....

I am of to friends for lunch (not really up for it), but 5 am sure it will be nice. Thankfully DD is off school next week, so no morning chores ad driving from place to place

I hope you all have a relaxing bank holiday weekend!

Wonderstuff · 29/05/2010 08:20

Enjoy your lunch jojo
Feeling slightly better this morning - dd woke at 5.30 but my lovely dh got up with her. We were planning on going to Chessington to look at the zoo, but looks like a miserable day today, maybe tomorrow?

Anifersgirl · 29/05/2010 08:25

dh I got all my maternity clothes on eBay ridiculously cheaply. Take a look, you can puck up some ridiculous bargains!

Right. Lots to do! Better get moving. Have fun peeps.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2010 08:40

Morning all,

Not in the best of moods this morning, took me ages to get to sleep last night, had really bad back ache and LO was wriggling and kicking AND had hiccups. Also woke up twice in the night to go to the toilet and both times it took me ages to get back to sleep.
THEN a friend that DP has gone out with today rang the house phone at 7:30am and woke me out of a deep sleep, was really not impressed

So, DP has gone out paintballing today for a guys stag do, Im going to my mums this morning then on to Primark with her and my sister. Was really looking forward to it but now Im just so tired

anifers yeah ebay is a godsend, I got my birthing ball from there really cheap. Will have a browse on there next week to give me something to do!

wonder tomorrows weather is supposed to be alot nicer, and Monday. If I were you I would wait for the zoo, much better in the sun!

jojo hope you have a nice lunch with your friend.

memphis83 · 29/05/2010 08:49

wonder sun is supposed to be out on monday hope you make it out for a day out at some point over the weeekend
dh not a good start to the day then, i got up in night and seemed to be sitting on loo forever then when i got back to bed at 5 he got bad hiccups and the constant thudding woke up dh he thought i was fidgeting!!
on the subject of birthing ball oes anyone know if hospitals provide them as i didnt see any while i was in there and i dont want to be without it but dont want to have to let mine down while in labour then pump it up on arrival?

Thank you
I don't think my hospital provides birthing balls... But not sure! I'm having a c-section anyway so more bothered about extra pillows I have to remember to bring a spare one! Hospital beds are so uncomfortable.

Wonderstuff · 29/05/2010 11:48

MLIC we are really lucky, living in the SE there are loads of places to go, got a BOGOF coupon for Merlin attractions with Tesco's and DD is 95cm, so just small enough to get in for free, which means it isn't too hideously expensive. It will be packed but should be fun. Need to get out of the house and do something nice.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day all round, we are all tired today, dd is teary and difficult - as am I - poor dh. Plan is to all have lunch then I think we will go shopping - dd will fall asleep in the car, I'll stay with her while dh gets the groceries and this afternoon hopefully we'll all be on better form.

My hospital provides birthing balls - had dd leaning over one of them

Chulita · 29/05/2010 13:06

Thanks for reminding me, I need to book a hospital tour - haven't been to this one yet and I'd like to know where I'm going.

I'm dreading this afternoon, got the ILs coming round. FIL bought himself an aeroplane last week and he expects us to be all excited about it...which we're not. I know it's his money and he can do what he wants with it, but this is the man who won't buy his wife a new mobile even though hers is completely duff, won't buy a new lawnmower but expects to borrow ours and then buys himself a plane...as long as it's a toy for him then nothing's too much and that attitude properly pisses us orf. And MIL is very emotionally blackmailing so I'm always worn out by the time they leave, argh!

Yeah, a small one, but an actual plane he can show off fly.

Chulita · 29/05/2010 13:38

Trouble is he'll want to take us up in it and that's not going to happen - cue more family rifts...

Gracie123 · 29/05/2010 15:05

The measuring thing is a joke! My bump measures 8 weeks ahead (last time I got it measured) but now they just say 'term' as in, it should be as big as it's going to get but it won't stop growing!!

Had a detailed scan at 28wks because the bump was so big they were worried that I had too muh amniotic fluid, but turned out I had a term size baby - at 28wks!!!

I feel like my stomach is about to rip open and my ribs are killing me, but when I ask about early cs date I'm told I still have to wait until 40 wks like evryone else.

What's the point of measuring if you aren't going to do anything about it???

Sorry - rant over. Just annoyed that I can't stand for more than 5 minutes without really painful bh and I still have such a long time to go :-(

Gracie123 · 29/05/2010 15:16

Probably should have finished reading the whole thread before I went off on my rant! I didn't realise there was another page I'd missed!!

I can't believe your dad has bought a plane!! At least he can fly you and DCs free of charge for little holidays in France etc... And save you some car journeys

For what it's worth, my aunt has a plane and LOVES it. In fact she let me fly it for my 21st. It was a lot of fun...

Chulita · 29/05/2010 16:25

Not my dad, my FIL - very different And it's a bad thing in this case, probably not a bad thing for everyone but definitely in this case.
I've not had bh yet, just rock hard bump every evening which is really uncomfy.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2010 16:50

mlic yeah thats what my parents said when I went round moaning to them about it earlier! Ive just got back from shopping but need to have a hairwash as am going out for a meal with DP and our friends (a couple) this eve.

Got some cute little elasticated waist trousers for LO and some body suits from Primark, they are so so cheap! Also 2 pairs of sandals for me lol, my feet havent swollen so want to get them out in the sunshine at least!

DP still isnt back from paintballing and havent act heard from him all day, hope hes not late

Blimey chulita a plane! Doesnt seem right that he wont buy your MIL a new mobile then.

Wonderstuff · 29/05/2010 20:41

Aw Gracie poor you. My bump is measuring dead on for dates and its uncomfortable enough.
Chulita good luck with the in laws - your fil does sound like a bit of an arse.

I brought first thing for the baby today - after trawling round almost every baby clothes section finally found some wrap vests in H&M which are quite cute. DD ended up with some sunglasses which made her day. Been getting braxton hicks today which is a bit weird.

Jojobil · 30/05/2010 08:03

Anyone elses spine/back is gone? I have had a couple of days now that it hurts. Oh the pleasures of pregnancy
DH took DD to a swimming lesson so I get to stay in bed, but wish could actually relax...

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/05/2010 08:42

Morning everyone,

Had a really good evening last night, the couple that came over announced they are expecting too! She is only 5 weeks so still very early days and dont think they have really got their heads round it yet but its great news! So I had someone to talk babies with all evening

Also my friend who was due to be induced today had her beautiful baby boy yesterday weighing 7lbs!

Its all go go go at the mo with babies, makes me so excited to have mine!

Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday weekend

memphis83 · 30/05/2010 10:06

mlic saw my friend last night who has an 8 month old so i asked her about the birthing ball, you get them like you said in low dependancy home from home room that has tv, sofa, bean bags etc but if you want anything stonger than gas and air they move you out of that room so i think i will take my own ball, there are only 2 of these rooms as well so if they are taken i have to do with out.
we went for a meal last night with 2 other couples, every one else was drunk, i was so annoyed with dh he must have asked me are you ok? a 100 times, everytime i moved, went toilet, got back from toilet, it was are you ok? i could have killed him, we have friends wedding in 2 weeks what will he be like then??
dh thats nice about your friends and their babies, wish i had more friends with children, my friends have mostly deserted me since getting pregnant, my friend with the 8 month old works all the time so between that and 2 kids i see her once a month for bingo!
im going to spend a few hours on bed sorting my wardrobe out FIL has been away to the lakes and bought me back a box of fudge so they will come upstairs with me

stac14 · 30/05/2010 11:49

Morning all, sorry i've not been on. How are you all? Friday night i saw family, yesterday we went shopping then to a bbq last night. I am knackered today with giant cankles but have to go out to get fil's birthday pressie, cant be bothered but best get it done as his bdays tomorrow. Mw tomorrow too which i'm looking forward to dont know why lol

memphis i went through the same last night, me and my friend are both pg she is 7wks behind me and both dps were drunk, pain in the ass. Fudge yum, hope its gorgeous.

chulita fil sounds like a tight ass, why doesnt mil just buy a new phone and ignore him lmao

dh my niece just found out too, she is so nervous as she mc in january. Love all the babies and talk at the moment.

jojo it may be the pressure of the extra weight hun, have you spoke to anyone bout it? Hope you feel better

wonder are you pure fed up love? Think its good days and bad days for us too

gracie my hospital does it from 39wks which i know isnt much earlier but better than nothing

mlic how did you get on at tesco? Food shopping on saturday, your brave hun lol x

Hey girls... sorry think its been over 2 weeks since i was last on! Made a brief attempt to catch up but i'm so so so tired! Have been working my ass off in attempt to finish up this week. My last day at work is now wednesday- had hoped for thurs past but no such luck! Just feel i have so much to do before i leave!
Been trying to catch up on house stuff over the weekend but think i have just done way too much!

jojo yes my back is aching! can't get comfy at night at all- also the sciatica in my left hip is back with a vengance! Feel like a beached whale when i sit on the couch as it all siezes up and i can't move!

Been back to hospital this week with more bleeding- it is still going but not got worse- they have done a few traces now and bab y seems fine in there, bleeding seems to be oming from my cervix and is nothing serious but they are keeping an eye on it.

Does anyone elses bump change shape every day? Mine seems to be different all the time! Dr reckons baby is transverse at the moment (was head down before i fell down the stairs!) so don't know if that has anything to do with it?

DH21 thats lovely news about your friends baby- nice to hear it happened naturally!

stac fantastic news about your niece, fingers crossed it all works out well for her- i remember how devastating it was back in january! How far on is she?

Sorry quite a self indulgent post- just feeling so overwhelmed with everything at the moment

Going to make a cuppa and catch up on some of the chat from last wee while

Wonderstuff · 30/05/2010 21:00

jojo my back is agony if I spend more than 20 mins sat down, standing seems fine, but no good for relaxing. I find if I have a cushion to support it that helps a little.

stac you are right - pure fed up, trying to focus on the end of all this - so excited about giving birth - gorgeous new baby, family complete, never have to go through this ever again. Hope mw apt is good.

We did Chessington today which was lovely - there were baby monkeys and everything dd had a wail of a time - but she slept in the car on the way back and is now still awake! Been up 4 times already. Maybe she'll treat us to a lie in tomorrow (hopeful) Although bump woke me up at 5am this morning - constant kicking until I got up, then I had to eat because I was starving, been really still since as well. So glad it's bank holiday tomorrow.
