evening ladies, finally back on here, needless to say i got re admitted to hospital, it turns out because of my blood disorder my body is struggling to cope with baby taking everything, which while in hospital i was so sick from being weak (which made me even weaker) my legs kept giving way and i shook so much it looked like i was fitting!!! with meds and a few days on a drip they are controlling it but my legs keep giving way still, got midwife tomorrow and hospital wednesday, i have requested an induction early but they cannot commit unless i improve but if i stay ill im scared i wont handle labour dh want me to have a c section but im not going down that route without a fight!! to top it off my wounds from op are all infected!! and my backside is covered in bruises from 2 injections a day, hands and arms bruised from all the canulars i had in them!! ive lost so much weight i look like an ethiopan with ribs sticking out and a bump!
stac how was your aunts dog? not sure if you mentioned it if you have i missed it.

aw memphis hun what a rotten you have had, hope they get you sorted and get the delivery you want. How many weeks do you have? We took milo to the vets on Thursday. The vet found he has an infection so gave him antibiotics. He said we need to get rid of the infection before he can tackle his kidney problem. He's still being sick but seems to be improving. Fingers crossed.

mlic know what you mean bout funerals, i went to a friends mums recently and kept thinking bout my own mum. Funerals and preggie women dont mix. Can't blame you for being fed up hun, can't be easy at the moment. I'm knackered and my ds is 11. Hope you get a good nights sleep.

dh i feel as if i get every pain going at the moment. If i lie on my right side she kicks like mad then on the left i can only lie that way for a little while. Try using a pillow at your other side so if you roll over you can use it the same way you hug the dream genii.

My boys footy team has won the cup, league and have a shield to play for. He is captain next year too. I am so proud. X

memphis my god, its been really crap for you hasnt it. I really hope u start to feel better soon. Thinking of you xx

Wonderstuff · 10/05/2010 22:36

memphis hope you start feeling better soon, sounds truely miserable.

DH I find turning over and getting out of bed really sore atm too - my mw said I really need to think about how I am going to move and keep my legs together and use my arms to lever myself up, I seem to be unable to stay on one side for long as well because my joints get achy.

MLIC sounds like your ds is really putting you through it - I do feel for you, such hard work when you really could do without it.

I had a brief spot of nesting last month - got the urge to iron everything (I never iron normally) now too knackered and house is back to a bit of a tip - I'm just so tired all the time, was convinced my 28 week bloods would show anemia, but apparently they are fine. Getting short of breath sometimes too, but must just be lo pushing at diaphram. This baby is so active at the moment, and sometimes it really hurts, feels like he's grabbing at my spinal cord.

Work is frustrating because I want to get so much done before I leave and a)my heart isn't in it - I just want to go now and b)by 4pm I am so tired, I burst into tears today, I just felt dizzy and I couldn't do anything. 6 weeks until mat leave and a week of that is half term. I do hope the baby is a little bit early - sooner it is in my arms the better.

kkfairybrains · 11/05/2010 00:12

aw stac you must be a very proud mum! its lovely to see them doing well!
dh glad your finally going to speak to doc. like it was said before, make a list of everything brfore you go.
memphis your having such a hard time of it you poor thing. thinking of you xx
well brought dp to clinic today and he got the cast off and has a big brace on his leg so he can bend it a bit and he feels alot happier but still very sore and comfortable. his bone is chipped and he's done in his cruciate (sp?) ligament and another ligamwnt so he'l be on the crutches and the brace for at lwast 6 weeks and he'l have to have an op on his knee.so i wont have a chance to feel crap til baby born cos im looking after the 2 of us, il have to get everything sorted myself for baby.keep house going and keep working at the same time!oh and im his chauffer! even have to dress his bottom half!feel so sorry for him i'd hate for it to be me!
have been getting very regular and constant braxton hicks the whole day long and getting mild period like pains with them.got to the satge where my stomach was constantly like a rock tonight and then was getting into the shower and had to bend down and the pressure was something serious! i've only 7 and half weeks til due date so really hoping i dont go early with dp the way he is and he wont be able to drive me or anything!
anyway thats my waffle over for today!
hope evryone feeling bit better tomorrow xx

Jojobil · 11/05/2010 07:47

Memp sending lots of positive vives your way... It is horrendous! Get better asap!

32 weeks today and meeting the Head Consultant this afternoon, she is the one who will ultimately decide about my elective... So I am very worried.

Nesting-wise I have been very much preparing everything the last week or so. My hospital bag is nearly packed, cot is up, just putting the last bits and bobs together.. Like his clothes for the hospital and making a list for DH to remember. It's a very exciting.

Chulita · 11/05/2010 08:06

memphis I'm sorry it's been rubbish the last week or so, I hope they agree to induce you. Positive vibes from me too!
kkfairy make sure when your DH can he gets physio on his knee, one of my brothers did his cruciate in and it took them over a year to operate and then told him he didn't need physio afterwards - result is he can never play footie/run/trust his knee again and he's only 24. Knees need a lot of looking after, I looked after bro post surgery while pg with DD and it was hard work cos he couldn't do anything (he reacted badly to GA too). You have my sympathies, make sure you get enough rest that you don't push yourself too much.
mlic DD's tantrums have really kicked off - can't play in the toilet: scream... can't play with my laptop:scream... has to get in car:scream...has to eat: scream - very, very wearing!
wonder - you're nearly there, 6 weeks and you won't have to worry about work anymore!
stac well done for your DS!
DH I find my pubic bone is very sore rolling over and my joints ache after lying in one position for a while. I just roll over with my dreamgenii and curl the sausage end between my knees so it works either side.
gracie I hope you don't get any problems with this one!

Jojobil · 11/05/2010 09:32

Oh forgot to say kk my husband is fine. I think it took around 2 months for him to be able to do things. He still goes to physio and it is getting there. Hope your DH gets better asap.

stac14 · 11/05/2010 10:11

Aww kk your poor DP he must be so fed up, you must be knackered too. Dp probs feels rotten you are having to do a lot for him. Are you getting other help?

jojo let us know how you get on. The head cons should see it from your point of view, make sure he knows how worried you are about this.

chulita as I said to mlic you are fab to running about after a toddler at the moment I am exhasuted with ds and he can do lots for himself. Is it the terrible twos? (hate that saying)

Well the sun is shining but its freezing. I am very proud of ds ladies, he is a fab boy and very dedicated to his football. So getting the captaincy for him is the best job in the world lol I on the other hand didnt get to sleep till 5am goodness knows why. Dont have anything planned yet, probably just the shops. What are you all up to today? xxx

dh has gone back to work today he has has already rang 3 times! this could get tiring!! sun is shining here today which is good after being on a ward for ages!
ooh i dont know if anyone remembered the lady who had lost all those babies who smoked i told you about, she gave birth in the 2 days i was out and her baby weighed 2 pounds!! due to steroids administered in the womb she didnt need help breathing and only needed a drip for 2 days shes allowed home when she weighs 5 pounds, and doesnt look ill just perfect and small!

stac14 · 11/05/2010 10:39

memphis she must be chuffed abouther baby being ok but defo very lucky. Can you sit in the garden or is defo confined to bed? How are you feeling? xx

OP posts:
memphis83 · 11/05/2010 10:48

stac im not one for sitting in the garden, im on the sofa with my feet up, eating cookies and strawberries!!! im alright, its very strange waking up weak with no energy like ive already had a hectic day!

stac14 · 11/05/2010 11:04

Thanks everyone for the support, Ive got docs this afternoon so will let u know how it goes.

jojo good luck with the consultant this afternoon

stac hope your trip to the docs is successful too.

Im feeling alot better today which is typical, but still got alot of questions for doc so wont be a wasted journey.

Ive decided after going to the docs Im going to have a walk round town to stretch my legs and get a bit of exercise, I feel SO lazy having not done anything for 2 days. Even though weather is a bit rubbish I cant just come home and plonk myself back on the sofa, it doesnt really do my mental health much good either

Hope everyone else has a good day today.

Chulita · 11/05/2010 12:47

stac I reckon it is 'terrible twos' I just read Toddler Taming and the bloke says that it starts around 16-18mths. It's just a matter of being firm, loving and patient...and ignoring a lot of it - as you know. Gets to me though cos you can see how it's sooooo much easier just to let them have their way
memphis your poor dh must be so worried about you!
dh good luck at the doc's.

I just looked at my side-view in the mirror and it's like going back to my teens. I was a plump teen and I've really filled out with this pg, my face is so round when it's usually heart-shaped. I know I'll lose it but it's hard not to get a bit frustrated at getting all chubby! I've been really low on energy lately too so haven't been out for walks or anything. Peanut butter and nutella sandwiches probably don't help either, lol!

Gracie123 · 11/05/2010 14:43

Memphis that sounds so terrible. I hope you manage to get some more rest. If you do end up with a section, it's not the end of the world. I was determined to have a natural birth without any medication with DS1 but after 16 hours was given an emergency c/s. I was devastated when they suggested it, but after seeing DS in neo-natal care, I didn't care about the birth, I was just so glad he was here.

MLIC Ds is going through a tantrummy phase too. I wonder if they are all sensing our imminent new arrivals might usurp some of their attention?

TBH I'd put it down to the fact that we are so cold (see my other thread 'aibu to use my oven as a chimnea?' )

It will be lovely to be in a new house with new baby, but just found out today that the price of the house doesn't include flooring!! Since we will be moving in so soon before the birth I can't see us getting any for a while either, which means that when we do, we'll have to move all the furniture again! What a pain!!

memphis83 · 11/05/2010 18:22

gracie i know in the end as long as hes healthy a c section wouldnt be the end of the world, im just worried they will let me get so weak i wont have any other option, then i will have a new baby, a c section and the weakness to deal with once hes here!!
dh how did you get on at the docs today?
i take my hat off to all you ladies with you kids already, and having to deal with pregnancy as well, i think you all deserve a medal i struggle to sort myself out most days!!!
midwives app went ok, took even more blood from me next app in 3 weeks then its every 2!!! getting so close to the end now i hope last weeks dont drag!

Jojobil · 11/05/2010 18:54

I was told I will have an elective in 7 weeks and I am very relieved. I'd rather have a planned one then an emergency one...

Gracie123 · 11/05/2010 19:13

Jojobil My sentiments exactly!

Memphis surely an elective section is better for you then? TBH an emergency one after a prolonged labour is exhausting, even to the fit and healthy. I looked like a wreck for a week, whereas my sister (planned section x2) looks positively glowing with her minutes old baby in every photo!

A section isn't ideal with a little one, because it's uncomfortable lifting for the first few weeks and you aren't allowed to drive, but it's really not that bad. I would definitely consider it carefully if I were you.

Even a natural birth that goes to plan can leave you weak and exhausted for a long time...

Gracie123 · 11/05/2010 19:13

Sorry to all first-timers. Just re-read that and it sounds all doom and gloom.

I'm sure you will all be fine

Jojobil · 11/05/2010 19:34

Gracie I had the same as you. Wanted a homebirth and ended up with a c-section after 18 hours ;) I completely agree with you. My friends who had it planned coped much better and got on their feet quicker.

Chulita · 11/05/2010 19:52

I agree with gracie, I had emergency cs after a loooong labour and it took me forever to recover. No guarantees it would've been any better with a normal birth but I've heard electives are far, far better. I'm still going for a VBAC though simply because with DD I'd hate not to be able to pick her up for weeks afterwards.

Ok ladies, those of you who've used slings - what would you recommend that would be easy to bf in and not really toasty warm like those wrap-around ones (I suspect they're very toasty for the wearer). Any suggestions?

I got told off by the GP for not phoning someone on Saturday when I passed out so all of you who said I should have...you were right! Going for blood tests tomorrow to test iron levels again, haven't heard back from the mw about my 28 wk bloods but I hope they'd have contacted me if it was low...right?

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/05/2010 21:08

memphis the docs was fine, asked about some pregnancy niggles and she put my mind at ease, feeling much better generally, must have been having a bad few days the other week.
Ive found my hormones are ALL over the place, and still getting stupid irrational thoughts that DP is going to go off with someone else.

chulita I had my blood taken at my 28 week app 2 weeks ago and Ive got another app tomorrow and they havent phoned me so Im hoping they are all ok but should find out tomorrow, hopefully they'll have my results back.
