Morning all, it's lovely and warm today. My aunt came to take ds to school for me as I have been quite sore for the past few days, going to be a lazy mare for an hour then do housework. Hows everyone else today? chulita how you feeling? Are you going to the docs?

I'm forever losing these threads!!

Got so much on at the moment (heating been broken for 2.5 weeks, washing machine broken for a week - lots of laundry to catch up on) and...

...we're moving house!!! 5 days before EDD apparently! Consultant didn't seem to bothered. If we go into labour here, we can go to hospital here, if not got to one in new town. I'm obviously slightly more concerned about not knowing where we will be having LO!!

Stac - what's sore? Sorry if it's been mentioned, too much to catch up on!

Spirael · 10/05/2010 09:33

Morning all. I hope things are going ok for everyone! Spring/Summer seems to have vanished though... It's cold and grey in this part of the country today. Ah well... Hopefully the weather is saving itself to be glorious from July onwards - once we're all sat at home with our lovely newborns.

I had my 28 week appointment (at 29+1) with the MW on Friday and everything is currently looking really good! LO is in the right position already, head down in my pelvis (that explains the pressure on my bladder...) and feet under my right arm. Hopefully LO will stay in that position now! My BP and pulse were really good so I'm just hoping my iron levels are ok from the blood sample taken, then apparently they'll start making the arrangements for my homebirth.

My hospital bag is mostly packed now, just in case, and I think I have everything sorted around the house and in the nursery. Just gotta get DH through his accountancy exams in a couple of weeks and a friend through his wedding, then I can kick back and relax for the last two months. Only five weeks left at work too, of which only two are full weeks thanks to holidays.

Anyone else starting to experience nesting at all? I'm not sure whether I'm nesting or just spring cleaning! To my DH's amusement, I declared war on several cupboards over the weekend. The medicine cabinet / first aid kit is now cleared out and refreshed (I found stuff that expired in 2005 - erk!), as are the bookshelves next to my bed. No cupboard or shelf in the house will escape my wrath!!

Gracie123 · 10/05/2010 10:07

I nested like mad with DS, but nothing like that this time! Poor DH is coming home from work and then starting housework, as I'm exhausted with looking after DS all day.

I slept 14 hours on saturday night, then bunked church for a 3 hour nap on sunday!

LO is head down already here too, and yes, I need the loo every five minutes too! Quite uncomfortable there aren't they?

Can't believe you are still working! You are truly amazing. I don't know how people do it.

Applied for sure start maternity grant this week. Anybody else?
Did you get it yet?

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/05/2010 10:17

Morning all,

I wasnt on here at all yesterday, woke up feeling really ill, slept til lunchtime then dozed on the sofa the rest of the day. DP, bless him, was such an angel. He got me things I needed and did his own tea and just did things without being asked!
I still feel a bit rough today but nowhere near as bad as yesterday, I think I prob caught something off my nephew when I saw him on Fri.

Got my docs app tomorrow afternoon so will try and get this anxiety dealt with. I barely ate a single thing yesterday, about 5 breadsticks and half an apple but LO was wriggling around all day so I know hes fine.

My legs feel really restless, almost like growing pains, maybe something to do with the fact I havent really been out much recently but dont know if I can face going out today, might see how I feel a bit later on.

Whats everyone else upto today?

Chulita · 10/05/2010 10:22

Morning! DH didn't have to go to work til 10 so it felt like a 4 day weekend cos he had Friday off too I'm off to the doc's tomorrow to ask about a few things, the list's getting longer and longer though I'll certainly make full use of the 15 mins!

Does anyone else have a pain between their shoulder blades when they breathe out? Mine's kind of behind my left shoulder blade and it really hurts when I laugh (which is quite a lot at the mo, DD's such a clown) I've heard indigestion can be a pain in the shoulders but I've had it for 3 days now...

I'm not nesting but I've rediscovered my love of cleaning sponges With DD I used to carry one round in my handbag so I could sniff it, this time DD steals it if she sees it so I have to have sly sniffs of them every now and then. I can't help it, I just love the feel/smell of them - it's a really stupid thing to love

stac14 · 10/05/2010 12:34

gracie good to hear from you hun, i'm with you on the tiredness thing. I have spd and baby is getting so big i feel so breathless and have under rib pain. I am sure I am 2 wks further than they said. What a whinger i am lol. Poor you with the broke washing machine and heating, your brave to be moving so close to edd. Where you moving to?

spireal i have been going through little bursts of nesting, need it to kick in more so i can get stuff done lol

Are you ok dh? Have you been feeling anxious a lot at the mo? I'm sure the doc will help you huni

chulita its not a silly thing to love, when my mum was pg with me she used to go walking through building sites to breath in the dust, so keep your sponge hun. I had the shoulder blade pain the other night but thought it was baby pushing back. Check with the doc x

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/05/2010 12:42

stac Im feeling really low today, I think its cos Im not very well and Ive got horrible pains in both legs from where I need to get out and use them but I dont feel well enough to go out
I dont think Ill feel completely calm til LO is in my arms.

Gracie123 · 10/05/2010 13:00

We are moving 5 hours away to Bedford! Scary stuff, especially as they haven't finished building our house yet!! Nevermind, I'm sure it will be ready

Been feeling really breathless too. I suffered from anxiety after DS was born, so have been assigned CPN/social worker already 'just in case'. I was going to speak to CPN about the breathless thing, but maybe it's just a pregnancy thing?

I'v had a couple of what appeared to be mild panic attacks (usually late at night) but panic attacks are only supposed to last 5-20 minutes, and these seemed to go on for between 1 and 4 hours. Anyone else experienced that?

stac14 · 10/05/2010 14:04

gracie one panic attack is only supposed to last 5-20mins but what i found when i am anxious is that i get rolling attacks were it seems to last days. The cpn can give you a relaxation cd, which will help your breathing. If its pregnancy related breathlessness then you dont usually have any other panic symptoms. A few of us on here have been told we're high risk for pnd, i'm on anti-depressants just now due to panic attacks/depression so if you need to let off steam feel free.

dh can you not wait till dp comes home to go to the shops? If you feel crap you'd be better at home. Make sure you tell doc how your feeling, they are here to help. Hope your ok x

Gracie123 · 10/05/2010 14:13

Thanks stac. That's good to know. I don't what I could be afraid of, but it only seems to happen in the evenings/night, and I do find that my heart is thumping and I'm shaking a lot and very jumpy. I never had depression after DS, just severe anxiety/paranoia (couldn't leave the house, wouldn't let anyone touch DS etc...)

I'm hoping it wont happen again. I think the difference is that last time I knew what I was afraid of (getting attacked, someone kidnapping DS) whereas this time I really don't know what I think will happen, I just feel panicky. Maybe I will speak to the CPN about it then.

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/05/2010 15:06

Thanks stac I had a hairwash (although got back into pjs after!) but my legs are in agony they really ache, but not like Ive walked too much, really feels like growing pains. I thought it might be restless leg syndrome but after looking up symtoms I dont think it is.
Im glad Ive got the docs tomorrow, it was a week ago I booked the appointment so almost glad I had to wait a week.

stac14 · 10/05/2010 15:21

gracie did they say you had pnd last time? Or have you told them how you previously felt? The anxiety could be hormonal, my docs been great hun

dh what times the docs? Maybe you should write a list of what you want to ask about. I'm going on thursday and i am going to write a list as my memory is totally rubbish lol.

Well ds has 2 footy games tonight, then a medal presentation. I have to go get him at 7 to see the presentation. Couldnt stand for 2 hours to watch the games but wouldnt miss him getting his medal . The weather is dull but dry and quite warm so the kids will have a ball. X

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/05/2010 15:46

stac docs is at 2:50pm so gives me plenty of time to list all my worries! Also got mw on wed morning so if I miss anything about LO ill ask her.

Just found out someone I know (would say friend but never speak to her, shes a college/facebook accquaintance (sp?)) has had a little boy by c-section not sure when she had him but sometime in last few days.

Gracie123 · 10/05/2010 18:34

stac - not PND, but post natal psychosis. They are slightly different. I'm still under psych care tbh although no one seems to think there is any problem with my having another LO, and I'm not on medication or anything.
See the social worker 2-3 times per week, but she is really nice and DS loves her, so it's not that much trouble.
After we move house they are going to fast track me for some proper treatment (e.g. with a Dr) but sticking with CPN for now as they can't guarantee the treatment won't be stressful and that is no good for LO in my tummy.

Gracie123 · 10/05/2010 18:38

Post natal psychosis

stac14 · 10/05/2010 18:41

gracie i must admit i am scared of getting pnd again and there is nothing to be embaressed about hun. Lots of us have been there. Glad your well now. Doc did say theres no reason why i should get ill again either. Fingers crossed eh? X

Hi was just wondering if anyone else is getting pains on either side of the bump when changing positions in bed?

If I didnt have my dream genii pillow sleep would literally be impossible as my bump really does ache on the side Im lying on.

Ive added this to the list of things to ask doc tomorrow, just wondered if anyone else gets this too?

Gracie123 · 10/05/2010 19:12

Yeah, my sister had PND with her first, but not with her second. I don't think that you get it again just because you had it once.

I think first time round is always going to be more stressful. At least we know what to expect now!

viksam · 10/05/2010 19:20

Stac 6 weeks left at work, 10 weeks to go till D Day!! Really hope im not early as I need all the time I can get for doing jobs round the house etc.
spirael WOW you are well sorted, i feel slightly agiteted now as Im no where near your state. I have half a conservatory built, no furniture for the babys room built, no decorating done and not even thought about my hospital bag!!
DH Hope tomorrow goes well and you get some answers, please dont let them fob you off, its easy for that to happen.
Gracie The house move sounds full on, but to be in a nice new house with a new baby will be lovely.
