Went to docs today.... going for scan next week.... YIKES

SkaterGrrrrl · 23/04/2010 16:16

"if any fucker bullies my ginger I'll 'ave 'em."

I want to make this my FB status.

reginaMonologue · 23/04/2010 16:18

wee I forgot to mention earlier on the fred - I am reading this the day by day pregnancy book. I loves it cos you get to read a new page every day and get to see new pictures too. It also has this awesome "life size guide" set of pictures of the baybee for the first 12 weeks or so - exponential growth doesn't quite cover it...

< manoeuvres uter-arse and boobs in unison >

SkaterGrrrrl · 23/04/2010 16:19

Also, award winning but cheap John Lewis moses basket that was sold out just came back into stock - they haz emailed me.

CurlyCasper · 23/04/2010 16:33

Looking at the number of ginger babies expected here, I am actually starting to think I'm going to be disappointed if my wee girl isn't one

I AM UNCOMFY - need new chair....

CurlyCasper · 23/04/2010 16:45

I got a fancy new chair iggy. Was good for a while but now nothing makes me comfy, not even the inflatable lumbar support. Can you take yoga ball to office?

When you finishing anyway?

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 23/04/2010 16:47

I meant to bring the ball in today... is own fault for ball fail... some days i just can't get comfy tho... other days are fine...

Finishing today (10 mins) or in general (18 June)?

CurlyCasper · 23/04/2010 16:49

I meant the latter. But glad you get away at 5 today too. I am packing up desk already. It's 29 degrees in my office today (with windows wide open) and I need out. Now.

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 23/04/2010 16:51

Am going to start doing that too! When you finish for mat leave?

29 degrees is too much...

CurlyCasper · 23/04/2010 16:54

yeah but I can't complain cause when it was cold I moaned about draughty windows and got nice new ones... I have direct sunlight on my small space.

Finishing May 28th. 5 weeks and very much counting . Cover now sorted so I am happy.

Right off to do some house and garden packing.

Have a great weekend weekday-only PESHs. (well, all of you have a great weekend, but i'm sure I'll chat to some of you during it).

OP posts:
rollerbaby · 23/04/2010 18:03

Bleedin hell you lot can chat. I've had another lazy day at home in bed (and in the park) getting over snot. Forced Mr Moo to go and get me ice cream and other traditional cold remedies.

Masssssss books? Wot you wanna read them for? You'll just scare yerself silly. Oh ok, so far I have read:

Mumsnet guide to pregnancy
What to expect when you're expecting (a veritable encyclopaedia of pregnancy stuff to make you go, oh that's normal/oh shit)
She who shall not be named's book
Baby Whisperer

Whether or not any of this is useful remains to be seen as I still don't feel v preggers. Just bloated and ill all the time.

My legs are itchy and now scabby so I should really buy some oil or sumat.

Fanks Iggy he is dead cute. We've just discovered he LOVES frisbees MORE than he loves other dogs which is pretty handy in the park.

Ave a nice weekend all - I got my booking in appointment with Midwife plus meeting that doula you recommended Okie.

I may go to the dump/garden centre - but I wouldn't count on it.

Is it me or does anyone else have a bad memory for names? Its going to take me ages to remember who;s who on FB!!!! I practically forget my own name most days...

reginaMonologue · 23/04/2010 18:25

moo I've had to create a list of FB v MN usernames so I know where I'm at... I also get itchy shins, but I've had these for ever and don't think it's related to being up the doofda. HOpe the booking appt goes well, I've got mine next Thursday...

Who is "she who shall not be named..." any clues?

skihorse · 23/04/2010 19:18

curly The woman in question was at the time Merseyside, so not your beat I don't think.

Skater I haz the same Moses basket - currently at my parents house, but will be delivered to me.

I haz ridden my pony and it was bloody awesome! She's not been ridden in what is it? A month now? Anyway she was as sweet as pie, I stood on a wall to get on with jailbait holding her just in case she walked off. It felt very "normal" in the saddle - as iggy said, no balance problems - nothing felt "weird" at all. I can fully recommend a Stubben VSS 18" width=28 for anyone suffering pelvic problems - I haven't sat on anything so comfortable in weeks. Pure and utter bliss - I will probably stop grinning at some point over the weekend. Getting off was a piece of piss, nothing easy to dismount from so rather than coming down abdomen against saddle flap I came down slightly sideways so along my right side. Jailbait stood by just in case I lost my balance and toppled but all good.

regina This site had a legal battle (I think?) with someone who wrote a book about childcare/baybees/sumfink or other.

OkieCokie · 23/04/2010 19:36

Forgot to say earlier I like the PESH questions.

Ski are you referring to Gina Ford? It seems everyone has an opinion on her ways but I bet most of you will all have a peek into her methods at some point!

rollerbaby · 23/04/2010 19:41

I read it first cokes cos wanted to know what the fuss woz all about. I'm still not exactly sure. Are we allowedto talkabout her?

OkieCokie · 23/04/2010 19:50

I have just cried at the John Lewis advert, bleedin' hormones!

CurlyCasper · 23/04/2010 20:12

ski I meant the bullied schoogirl story. weedkiller cunt was actually an x-post!

There's a thread in pregnancy that again attempts to discredit certain childcare book authors...

Bonus moment: remembered there was Vienetta in the freezer. Classy? NO. Yummy? YES

Oh right, GF. Hmmm. I confess I do have her book, and I've read through it. Oddly, some of it is stuff my Mum swears by, and since it worked on me I'll be giving those things a go. I think it's like everything though innit, you read stuff, contemplate it and then use it if you want to in perhaps a way that better suits your requirements. I wouldn't suggest blindly following anyone's advice verbatim fwiw.

Nite nite all!

rollerbaby · 23/04/2010 20:37

Rib eye steak + buttery jacket potato + 1.5 glasses of shiraz = BAD PERSON.

Nom, nom NOM!

OkieCokie · 23/04/2010 20:50

I am with Reggie regarding said book. I found that bits certainly worked for me as did Baby Whisper. Being the control freak that I am I read lots of books but I like to think my parenting "skills" are a bit innate (well I hope to take a bit of credit!) and a bit from tips from a mixture of various books.

Moo I am a bit jealous of your wine drinking, may have to have a glass myself.

rollerbaby · 23/04/2010 21:00

Do it! Hee hee... felt too guilty to finish it! But was v v v nice. Bit lightheaded now which is funny considering I can polish off a bottle in an indecent amount of time normally.

I agree, I couldn't work out all the fuss over it. So much of that book seemed quite sensible advice. I can imagine how some people may find find it a bit prescriptive but I do think it will come down to how you feel with your baby when the time comes. I also thought that bits of the advice were duplicated in Baby Whisperer as I read that next.

I think you're right okie - take the advice that makes sense and do it your way.
