Hi all. Thought I would get the new thread started before the old one got too full! Thanks to nomoremagnolia for the title

Crumbs. Oh Loopymumsy - that totally sucks. So sorry to hear the news. I had a MMC last year so can appreciate how you must be feeling. It's so unfair especially as you'd had a good early scan. I know you're made of stern stuff - but be kind to yourself in the meantime.

cluelessnchaos · 11/05/2010 18:38

Loopymumsy that's so sad, thank you for all your support and help xx

hmmSleep · 11/05/2010 18:44

, so sorry Loopymumsy, you will be sadly missed on this thread, take good care of yourself. xx

Sabie · 11/05/2010 19:27

Loopymumsy; I can't believe it, I am sooo sorry. You've been great company and reassurance on this thread and yes, you have converted me to baby-wearing.

Take care of yourself and love to all the family, S x

umf · 11/05/2010 19:35

Loopy that's dreadful, I'm so very sorry to hear the bad news. What an awful shock for you. Thinking of you and your family. We'll miss you here.

umf · 11/05/2010 19:52

PS will be coming looking for you on the sling threads. Grateful stalker #2.

youremindmeofthebabe · 11/05/2010 20:14

loopymumsy, i am so sorry to hear that. You have been a fantastic source of information and cheer throughout the thread, and i hope it all goes well in the future for you.

rollerbaby · 11/05/2010 20:20

Hi Loopy I've been lurking rather than participating recently, but just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear your news. Take care.

Sorry girls for not being more participatory! I will try harder... Had a melt down today due to lack of sugar and started crying when my DH picked me up from station. What a wuss.

On the good side spent a fortune in Topshop maternity - have first 2 pairs of mat skinny jeans. They are ace. Finally, clothes that fit!

Week 16 checkup tomorrow... god 1 more month and then half way through... scary.

JFly · 11/05/2010 21:11

I've been lurking, too, but had to say how sorry I am to hear about your loss, Loopymumsy. What a shock for you. I hope you have a lot of support these next few weeks. Take care of yourself.

Gaga82 · 11/05/2010 21:24

That is awful news Loopymumsy, take care of yourself and I hope others take good care of you as well.

honeymoo I have a pair of the same topshop jeans I think - they are ace! My non-preg friends are a little envious I think!

Babybean1 · 11/05/2010 21:42

Same as honeymoo about being sorry for not being very active recently, feel like I've been in a bit of a bubble for the last 2 weeks and not really sure where it's gone!

Just wanted to say I'm so so sorry loopymumsy, thinking of you and hope your getting the support you need and deserve.

Will catch up again properly soon when I have chance..... Hope everyone is ok and best of luck for scans coming up.

blondecat · 11/05/2010 23:00

Loopymumsy, I am so sorry. Please take care of yourself.

36 hours to my scan. I am getting scared. Also I am not sure I want a nuchal scan. The consultants just assume I will get it. I am worried I will go bonkers about the odds and I have already decided I won't terminate.

bunnygirl80 · 11/05/2010 23:28

loopymumsy I am so sorry to hear your news. It must have come as such a shock after your previous good scan. I hope you're getting lots of support in RL. I've really valued all your advice on this thread.

So sorry to hear your news loopymumsy. I wish you all the luck for the future, whatever that may bring.

Well I have got my scan this evening, fingers crossed everything will be OK. I have been feeling very nauseous the last 2 evenings but I don't know if that is due to the pregnancy or because I am nervous to see if everything is alright. At least that will be cleared up today and providing all is well I can relax a bit [hopefully!].

Hope everyone else is well and that youremindmeofthebabe has a good scan... speak soon... x x x

applegirl · 12/05/2010 08:19

Morning ladies

Good luck with your scans today Harmony and youremindme and anyone else with one today.

14 weeks today according to my EDD, but probably more likely to be 14 weeks on Friday/Saturday according to my scan date estimate - I guess the little beans grow at varying rates though so it's hard to know when I should be dating myself now!! Guess I will stick to the EDD

mumcha · 12/05/2010 08:53

so sorry to hear your news loopymumsy il be thinking bout u xxx Privet what kind of doppler have you got as i was thinking of buying 1 .So scared about my scan tomorrow as you realise just how fragile pregnancy is.gd luck every1 with scans today

hmmSleep · 12/05/2010 09:21

applegirl My midwife said it's best to go off the date from the first day of your last period than the scan, as the scan can be 5 days out, so I'd stick with your EDD.

The only reason I changed is I miscarried 3 months prior to getting pregnant again and my periods weren't really back yet, so decided in my case the scan might be more reliable. I have 3 different dates, the one I worked out (I counted back from when I thought I might have conceived), my dating scan date, and my Nuchal scan date, so haven't really got a clue! Seeing as my last two decided to pop out a few weeks early I decided to plump for the earliest date I was given.

Phoned and booked my 16 wk check for next week, still confused as I was told it would be at home, but appointment is for at the GP's.

Good luck with scans today everyone!

rollerbaby · 12/05/2010 10:26

Off for 16 week scan now at the hossie... wish me luck. It's a bit boring just to go and get my blood results... hopefully we can listen to the heartbeat too.

I wish mine was at home!

PrivetDancer · 12/05/2010 10:44

that's weird, hmmSleep, I've always been told (and read) that the scan dates are far more accurate than your date of LMP.
Scans can be 5 days out in the early days but by 12 weeks are considered fairly accurate. LMP wouldn't be at all accurate as ovulation can happen anywhere in a cycle and sperm hangs around for days etc.

mumcha I've got the babysonic waterproof fetal doppler halfway down the page - bought it in last pregnancy and surprised to see the price, I thought I only spent about £60 on it! I expect I can get some back on ebay though when i've finished with it though.

b00kw0rm · 12/05/2010 10:56

Just seen loopymumsy's news- so sad . You'll be sorely missed as the unofficial 'mum' and voice of wisdom of the thread! I'll definitely seek you out later on for more advice about slings to add to my stash too...
Also, just wanted to say to blondecat that you don't have to have the nuchal sscreening test if you're not sure about it. On my notes, the MW from booking-in had written that we wanted it, but I'd never actually said that! After discussing it with DH, we decided not to have it as it would just be a meaningless number for us, as we wouldn't terminate or have amnio. So don't feel like you have to have it- you can just say no on the day as we did?

umf · 12/05/2010 11:50

All best for today's scannees!

blondecat we're not having nuchal, just dating and general check. We wouldn't proceed to amnio even if odds of Downs very high, so didn't feel there was any point.

I guess one reason for doing it anyway might be that Downs pgs are more likely to terminate naturally, so that one might want to know there was a higher risk. But given the vagueness of the screening results, I wouldn't feel it was helpful to know.

Here the MW was very keen to make sure we understood all about the nuchal test before consenting to it; I think she's seen a lot of couples have a lot of extra stress from these tests.

shoppingstar · 12/05/2010 11:55

Having lurked for a week I've now added myself to the list. Scan yesterday showed a summersaulting mini-baby of 14+4, exactly as my dates for LMP. I had an early scan at 6 weeks because of 2 previous MC and had been ultra-anxious but I've calmed down a bit now. I can't believe that I only discovered MN a week ago after fretting to myself for weeks when all the answers and reassurances I could have wanted were here in this thread.

Hello to all and best wishes for up and coming scans.

Hello all,

Just wanted to say how sorry I am to loopymumsy. I was very sad to hear that news.

Lots of good vibes to all being scanned today!

floweryogi · 12/05/2010 14:59

Loopy - I am so sorry to hear your news. Lots of love and thoughts to you and the family.

I have not been too active in this thread - I'm really sorry about that. I'm now 15 weeks and we had a good scan at week 12. The EDD has now changed to Halloween but I hope I can stay in this thread!

We're just waiting for the nuchal scan results although in the scan they were looking ok. No shopping yet for me - I've just ordered a few things online and we're researching various bits and bobs.

I really hope that everyone is doing well and good luck with scans and test results.

xxxx
