Just been to the mw again to get thyroid bloods done before I see my consultant on the 10th may, she told me that my dose is likely to be sky high by the time I deliver, when I had the other 3 I wasnt taking thyroxine so it was all new to me, she was also trying to persuade me to slip in another baby as soon as we have this one, what a hoot she was. I am really pleased, she is one of 2 midwives who will look after me and if I homebirth one of them will deliver me and I love them both.

I would like a fab midwife next time, please.

I was in for ages being induced last time, and had about nine different ones, all of whom seemed equally insane to me.

However, they got me through it, so shouldn't complain too much.

Feeling a bit low today. DS has got a fever and is sick, and I seem to be feeling worse than I have since nine weeks.

Might go off and start a joke thread somewhere to cheer me up.

tanmu82 · 29/04/2010 18:30

wow, this thread has really flown since I last checked!

I'm v excited because I have my dating scan tomorrow! Am looking forward to first glimps of baby

Hello,
Unfortunately I had my scan on wednesday at what should have been 13 weeks which showed my baby had stopped growing at 9 weeks and had no heart beat. Hadn't really expected it as had had no pain or bleeding up till then. Went back to hospital today for erpc so now just feel sad that I'm not pregnant anymore with my very much wanted baby.
Hopefully I'll have better luck next time, and I wish all of you a very healthy, and happy next 6 months of pregnancy and will be thinking of the November '10 babies in the autumn.
p.s. can someone take me off the list - Thanks?

Oh, so sorry Poodle and Bella

Fenouille · 29/04/2010 22:45

Hi everyone, I'm back from a 3 day business trip. Had a snooze on the plane so now I'm wide awake!

I told my work on Monday (got around of applause - how odd) and since then I've just popped out. I've been in maternity trousers ever since and it's so much more comfortable. Bit worried about how big I'm going to end up though.

Thanks to you all for the tips on essentials, it's very helpful. Have any of you used an Amby bed? What's the general consensus?

Well, it's way past my bedtime now so see you all tomorrow!

Katey1010 · 30/04/2010 00:18

Just realised I got taken off the list for being useless and not posting. My excuse is it is difficult to post when your head is down the toilet (I know TMI!).

This thread is tough on the hormones. So happy for the great scans and so sad for the losses. I heard a heartbeat today so some of my worry has disappeared.

Weird dream for me. My grandfather (a lovely, lovely man in RL) came back from the dead to be mean to me. What is that?

So sorry to hear poodle and bella's news

I was pleased with my obstetrician appointment yesterday. I had worried slightly about ending up with an overly medicalised birth by going down the ob managed route, but she is very pro normal birth. There was tons of information about hypnobirthing and natural pain relief methods. I left feeling much more confident that she's not going to start coming at me with a scapel if I haven't given birth an hour after the first contraction

Pidgin · 30/04/2010 06:29

poodle and bella I am so sorry for your losses. Thinking of you.

oh, poodle and Bella, so sorry for your losses. Really feel for you both.

Kyuri · 30/04/2010 08:42

Very sorry to hear the sad news from poodle and bella, thinking of you both

Loopy I'm so jealous of you telling people! We still have a week to wait until we tell DH's family (next Friday) and then my family (next Sunday). It seems like FOREVER. I know there's no point at which we can really relax and stop worrying about the pregnancy but now that we've had the 2 recent scans and good NT result I just want to start shouting about it!

Hurrah for Friday and the long weekend, and best of luck to those having scans today

Booboobedoo · 30/04/2010 08:47

Poodle and bella: I'm so terribly sorry. Very for you both.

Loopymumsy - I was up at 4:30 too. Wot larks, eh? Didn't start joke thread last night as I was too sick, but think I will later.

Thing is, I wanted to get the ball rolling with something really funny, but just wasn't feeling it last night.

Good luck to all those scanning today. And TFI Friday!

Booboobedoo · 30/04/2010 08:49

Oh, and btw Katey - I couldn't even look at the computer screen in the first trimester in my last pregnancy.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

b00kw0rm · 30/04/2010 09:26

So sorry to hear the news from Poodle and Bella- it's such a worrying time, every twinge or ache makes me wonder...

In other news, we just booked a holiday to Greece in September when I'll be 31/32 weeks and now I'm thinking that was a bit mad! Hoping I can just lie around all day and leave DH to entertain DD but maybe not?

Good luck to htose with scans today!

hmmSleep · 30/04/2010 09:46

Bella and Poodle, so so sorry for your sad news, take care xx

Look we can now officially blame our mothers on how crappy we've been feeling.

I'm feeling most peeved today, after a week of zero ms, really thought it was gone (14 wks now!) but woke up this morning feeling terrible again. Also is anybody else suffering from terrible diarrhea? I wake at 5.30 every morning with the worst tummy ache and diarrhea (sorry if tmi!) presuming it's just another side effect.

Think there's a few of you with scans today, so good luck all.

umf · 30/04/2010 10:10

V sorry, poodle and bella.

addictedisinthesecondtrimester · 30/04/2010 10:45

i lost you all, but i found you all again now

poodle and bella, so sorry to hear your news, sometimes life is just so not fair.

hmmsleep diarrhea is very bad with tummy ache. but then goes and re-appears the next morning

goodluck all thoes with scans today, fingers crossed for you all

so looking forward to bank holiday weekend!

PortiaPony · 30/04/2010 11:17

Would it be ridiculous to pay £95 for a scan when my NHS one is in 2 weeks? Just really worried that something's wrong (no reason to think this of course!). Am just over 10 weeks and my symptoms have really gone down in the last few days. Haven't broached the subject with DH, think he would think i was being neurotic. He's very pragmatic and says that if something's wrong there's nothing we can do about it anyway and we'll find out on the 13th. He's right of course but.......

hmmSleep · 30/04/2010 11:30

Think I'd wait and see Portia, my symptoms have been up and down, one week nothing, then the next vomiting again! So sure everything is fine. I am a bit stingy though, I paid for my nuchal scan, but only because I couldn't get it on the NHS, have never had any other private scans in all my pregnancies. If you have £95 to spare though? A few others have paid for reassurance scans on here, so they might come along and give a different opinion.
