Oooooh, how exciting CazEm

Do you have a preference - boy or girl?? xxxx

OP posts:
CazEM · 22/03/2010 08:58

No preference at all! I'm just excited to find out which and name baby! We were in Mothercare yesterday having a nose around and I was just desperate to buy a little outfit! Haha!

bouncingblueberries · 22/03/2010 09:04

Good luck kcoffin and CazEm for your scans!

Mine isn't til Friday - such a loooong week.

cherry you poor thing with pelvic pain - not funny I know. I'm managing to keep mine down to a dull ache with lots of yoga. My director hasn't apologized yet, but I haven't been in since it happened. So dreading seeing him today. Been rehearsing lots of scenarios in my head about all the snide comments I can make! Oh, I'm so petty sometimes!

Had a massive weekend of nesting. It all kicked off with having the carpets cleaned on Friday which meant that I could see exactly how dusty the skirting boards were with all the furniture moved away from the wall, so they were next on the cleaning list. Then I noticed how disgusting my rocking/nursing chair was, so stripped off all the cushions and scrubbed them to within an inch of their lives. Then Sunday morning while dh was out on his 20 mile run (ouch) I completely decluttered and rearranged ds's bedroom

Feel soooo much better for that mini Spring clean and ready to consider where everything for the baby will fit in!

pamplem0usse · 22/03/2010 09:08

Right loads of work today so Mumsnet has to stay in break times....

Cherry i'd also recommend some yoga.

CazEm exciting about your scan, look forward to hearing all about it!

Blueberries I also had a bit of a spring clean, very satisfying eh?

Star let's hope he comes around, or at least manages to be straight with you about things.....

xxx

CherryPie3 · 22/03/2010 09:37

CazEm I've been exactly the same wanting to buy outfits and such like - but trying desperately to hold out for a shopping trip when babycherry arrives

Blueberries Go you with the spring cleaning!!! A very impressed - have got lots of plans for spring cleaning just need pelvis to behave for a weekend so I can actually do it!!
Not just an excuse - honest!

SOunds like yoga is the way forward for me, will try to give it a go. Having never ever considered it before...I'm a tad nervous.

Good luck for the scans today ladies.

DH just had a row with his "boss" and told him to shove his job. Handed back the keys and everything (he did ring me first because he knew I was annoyed about something that had happened too). Hope all works out or my mat leave just got shortened considerably. Yikes!

Oh and I guess that trip to Turkey is off the agenda. And I'll be on the bus tomight and I guess we'll be shopping at Aldi again. Sigh, just as well I had not had much chance to get used to our new Tesco lifestyle & sob! Lucky I bought my new maternity clothes a few weeks ago.

Yikes (again)

Chulita · 22/03/2010 14:23

aussie I hope something sorts itself out!

DD is ill again, she's had a stonking cold, some crappy virus, the vomiting bug and now back to the crappy virus again. 7 weeks in a row now we've had a sick lo and it's getting me down - doesn't help that I've got a horrible cough/sore throat and combine that with DD not sleeping [sigh]

Gotta go, DD's waving her bubble wand at me and blinking her big brown eyes in a not very subtle way!

weehector · 22/03/2010 14:23

Jeez, a lot happens in a day..

Aussie As I'm living by the straplines on my Lululemon bag at the moment, I'm handing over 'do something that scares you every day' to you. It sounds like his work situation was making you both unhappy and hopefully its the start of something new and exciting for him. But, I must admit, I'd be hyperventilating and angry/defensive on his behalf in equal measure...

Cherry another vote for yoga. If you can find a pregnancy specific class, they're much easier and everyone is fat and sweaty so there's no need to get wound up by the yoga bunnies..

Blueberries well done on the spring clean, always makes you feel great doesn't it? Hope it took away some of the anxiety re facing knobster today and hoping even more that its all been smoothed over by now.

The wedding was lovely, amazed myself by staying out until 2.30am and dancing, which made the baby go nuts. You couldn't fail to get swept along by how happy the bride & groom were and it was great to catch up with people. I still went out looking like a fat cow, albeit a designer one - I went with the shotputter outfit but in a flash of inspiration, flung on an Issey Miyake top thing that covered all on the way out the door so I felt a wee bit better - and Jellyfish women only managed to land 3 minor stings on me although she managed to seriously piss off my friend, which was uncalled for as she's just back from Oz and struggling to get back into a decent job. I actually felt quite sorry for her at one point - 2hrs of chat about her work, no mention of the baby other than 'do you know what you're having yet?' and finding that the only way she can boost her own self-esteem is by putting down our previous work contributions and inventing promotions for herself. Now that I can see her objectively, I think she's a bit deranged.

weehector · 22/03/2010 14:26

And good luck today with the scans, CazEM. Hope its the colour of your dreams and all is well..

carolondon · 22/03/2010 14:35

Hello all,
I am also having a bit of a wobble regarding clothing. Had a bit of a melt down in oxford st yesterday as i realised that all maternity clothes make me look like the size of a house and all other clothes are now unobtainable. It didn't help that i also realised i will just continue to get bigger so will spend the summer looking like a sweaty whale.
I know this is irrational and i am not fat, as my lovely DH pointed out, there is another human in there. I need to embrace my pregnant body but as someone who is very body concious and always on a diet at the best of times i am finding it hard.
I did try and cheer myself up by spotting obese people on the way home and thinking well at least i have an excuse!
I would also like to apologise to other posters who actually have real problems (star, Aussie), please tell me to get lost and stop being so vain if it helps you feel better!

Jaysfourth · 22/03/2010 14:51

just updating the list ...

had a gender scan yesterday and we are expecting a girl! Also just had results back from triple bloods 1/770 of DS, or 0.12% chance.... i am guessing for some of you that might seem high, but it requires no further tests here! Very relieved - i was unable to have the NT scan as when i went for it at 12 weeks, i found out i was actually 16+3...so was out of time for it :O

bouncingblueberries · 22/03/2010 15:05

thanks weehector you just made me snort tea out my nose with reference to knobster! (soooo immature I know!) Alas, no apology and the whole thing seems to have been forgotten. But the studio boys have been very sweet and running after me and giving manly punches on the shoulder to show their solidarity

I think I shall forever (or at least until maternity leave) refer to my director as The Knobster. With capitals.

bouncingblueberries · 22/03/2010 15:06

aussie scary stuff honey, but hopefully it means that bigger and better things are round the corner for your dh.

Aussieng · 22/03/2010 15:16

What happened to MrsZac (I cheated when I got back and only read the "new" thread to catch up - is she AWOL?

Ah Carol - we all have our wobbly days, it's not vain. I've probably spent more time today thinking about how nice my new blue H&M top looks than worrying about DH's job Does not help that there are some cute non-mat clothes in the shops at the moment. I like my new summery mat tops because they highlight the bump and show of my arms so they kind of go "see I'm not fat everywhere" for me

Congratulations Jaysfourth. I'd be pretty chilled at that blood result too - I'd set 1 in 150 in my head at the outset as the "no need to panic" number but when you see some of these stats in the 100,000's it is a bit

DH just had a call from the wife of one of the shareholder/directors asking him to call back at 4 pm as she is hoping to speak to the company manager that DH had the blow up with by then. The company manager does pretty much run the business and I don't think she will take the risk of totally overrulling him if he sticks to his guns but we will see what happens.... In the meantime, DH has a job offer providing he can transfer his licence from the district to the city which should be just a formality and would take aboout 2-3 weeks to do. We would actually be approximately £100 per week better off just on contract/commission costs alone. And luckily I have a project in the garden which will keep DH busy for oh about 2-3 weeks I reckon so this could all work out quite well for me yet....

CherryPie3 · 22/03/2010 15:22

Carol I hope you're feeling better hun. You may find this out of turn but.... is that really how you cheered yourself up? I'm classed as obese . Wouldn't like to think people were cheering themselves up at my expense

JaysFourth WooHoo on the girly news!!!! So pleased for you!

WeeHector Glad you had a good night, glad the 'jellyfish woman' didn't last out too much

Other than that, hows everyones Monday going?

Hi everyone just giving an update on my scan. Im afraid I couldnt hold out and had to find out the sex im team pink .
Also have to go back for another scan at 32 weeks as I have a low placenta.
Been given a date for my c-section, which is on the 28th July

Hope everyones had a good day.

starshaker · 22/03/2010 15:42

Hey all. Went out today to buy alana some new clothes and ended up buying a really nice top from river island for me lol.

I have had a good chat with the guy to try and find out what is going on. He said he was nervous and worried he was going to hurt me or the babies. And im the first person since his ex (who did a real number on him). So not sure if things will progress but i know i will always have him as a friend. will just need to see what happens next

bouncingblueberries · 22/03/2010 15:43

oh! Exciting scan news kcofin and jaysfourth! Someone clever needs to plot these results on a graph and see if there is a trend we can spot [geek emoticon]

CherryPie3 · 22/03/2010 15:58

The job is yours blueberries

Congrats on team pink kcoffin, with a c/s planned for 28/7 - you could be one of, if not the, first arrival How exciting!!!! Btw, I had a low placenta with dd, scan booked for 36wks, ended up giving birth 2 days before it

star Glad you had a good talk with him, bless him. Sounds like his hearts in the right place - time will tell I suppose about whether it's supposed to be anything more than friendship. :0
