Looks good, Lady o' the List!

Chulita · 23/03/2010 16:00

Sorry cherry, and cheerios for lunch? I hope you do take lasagne in tomoz, I've been wanting lasagne for ages...
aussie I've got the dentist next month and I think I'm going to need a filling But I like the chocolatey two-fingers you gave him,
Liking the list!
And has no one spotted mrsZac somewhere on MN?

CherryPie3 · 23/03/2010 16:23

Thank You, Thank You.....I'd like to thank you all for having babies that enabled me to compile this list. I just couldn't have done it without you.....

Chulita Believe me I won't be having cheerios tomorrow. Something nice and warm that actually looks like lunch as opposedto breakfast cereal - what was I thinking?

And you know what, those choccy fingers really make the cake table complete lol. Thanks for those

And nope - have definitely not seen MrsZaC anywhere - or quite a few of the others on the list for that matter!! Theres really only a few of us that post regularly isn't there? We're not scary are we girls?

OP posts:
tunise · 23/03/2010 16:29

Thank you for the lovely welcomes
I'm finding this pregnancy really quite hard and dont seem to be anywhere near 'blooming'.

I'm also finding that you seem to get less sympathy the more children you already have, at work if i so much as sigh i get lots of "well, you knew what you were letting yourself in for" type comments, which is mildly irritating to say the least. Never mind, maternity leave gets closer every day!

sparkle101 · 23/03/2010 16:31

cherrypie surely the best looking list on the antenatal forums!? Well done you - please can you move me to the 30th - new due date _ I would do it but am sure to balls it up!

CherryPie3 · 23/03/2010 16:32

erm, sorry tunise but MILDLY IRRITATING???????

I think thats very very VERY irritating!!!!

Just because you know what to expect doesnt necessarily make it any easier to cope with. The effects of pregnancy are still there. exhaustion especially!!!

for you!!!!

But also hope you're ok

Just finished work so am off home to cook and devour my enchiladas. Don't think I can be bothered to make from scratch tho so gonna get an Old El Paso dinnerkit . Oh well, they're still yummy!!!

Take Care all - 'see you' tomorrow xxxx

Love the list. I just searched for MrsZ. She has defo not posted at all on MN since the day before her booking in appt.

Cherry do NOT get me started on HR and the pension payments - they have not even acknowledged my request that they resolve it this tax year. But it would actually be slightly if they come back to me now since given yesterday's developments I will have to pay them over 12 months anyway rather than in one go before 5 April [kissing goodbye to tax deduction emoticon]

Hello Tunise - I'd also be quite irritated by such a comment. I love the sympathy I get at work

We're not scary - a bit hard to keep up with I guess but some people seem to dip in for a few days (probably coinciding with ante-natal appts etc) and then not make it back for a few weeks at a time. It's nice to see them when they dip in and presumably they have better things to do than I when they are not around

girlsyearapart · 23/03/2010 17:20

hello everyone. Feeling the end of the day tiredness now. Not a good night, both dds were up 930,1230,415,5..

Anyway as a result they are grumpy and so am I!

tunise hello. How old are your children? will this be your last? We are aiming for 4 but reserve the right to stop after this one!

babyducky · 23/03/2010 17:45

Hi all,

Of course your not scary, its soo hard to keep up with you though!!

I do read the thread most days but never seem to find time to actually post anything!

Im wondering where mrszac has got to aswell, hope she is ok, & anyone else who hasnt posted for a while.

No news from me really, have got my scan next tuesday, cant wait, & determined not to find out the sex this time.

enjoy your enchiladas cherry, yum!
We are having sausage & mash tonight.

Welcome to tunise & anyone else Ive missed.

xxx

babyducky · 23/03/2010 17:47

Oooh forgot to say its my birthday tomorrow so will bring some birthday cake to the cake table

CazEM · 23/03/2010 17:51

Heylo! It takes me ages to catch up with all the posts after work! Thanks for the reassurance all about the chicken, I've felt fine overnight and all day so its all good. Will be checking my meat up MILs from now on though! Haha DH wasn't very impressed with her and actually told her off for not making sure it was cooked properly before dishing it up to his pregnant wife! I had to then tell him off for telling his Mum off! At least it shows he's worries about me and baby!

Cherry - if it had been a boy we would've celebrated with the normal colour champers!! Haha! Only got the pink because baby is pink! My DH says he's had a lovely day in work with everyone cooing over her picture and her name! New list looks lovely too btw! My friend who is obsessed with her lists would be very proud!!

Vix - Your midwife sounds awful, please insist that you get your BP checked, I can't believe she threw your pot across the room, I'm sure its important that it is checked at appointments for signs of diabeties and other things etc.

As for the weight gain talk, I'm approx a stone down on my pre-preg weight, I must've lost loads with all the sickness, but I've only weighed myself 3 times since my BFP; on day of BFP, just after xmas and last week. I'm not going to worry that much tbh unless midwife or Dr shows concern! Will enjoy one of the only times in my life we're I have guilt-free indulgance! (Within reason of course!)

Aiming for a quiet night now, DH is cooking tea (Fajitas!) for me cuz I decided I'm too tired to cook! Expecting a cuppa to be delivered to the sofa any minute now too! Awww he can be lovely sometimes! He's been very mushy since yesterday, he must be pleased to be having more ladies in his life! Haha!

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening! x x x

possiblenewmum · 23/03/2010 19:28

Good evening girls, i have realised that not having access to MN at work might be a disadvantage to keeping up with the chat!!

I echo the advice about midwife appts and get them to check your urine and BP. My midwife is a lovely & bubbly women who puts me totally at ease and cracks a few good jokes. At each appt she has checked my urine, BP, asks if i've had any swelling of ankles or anything, lies me down and feels my belly then uses a doppler to listen in to the heartbeat. Yesterday she was really good when she took my BP once with an electronic device and it came out as 189/99, she just said well thats rubbish i'll do it the old fashioned way and got out the old handpump thing and my BP came out as 118/77. Previous nurses or docs would have made me panic at such a high BP, which obviously wouldn't help the situation.

Hmmm... i smell stew in the oven, must be dinner is ready..... see you later!

vix206 · 23/03/2010 19:46

The strange thing about my MW is that she is really lovely and friendly, and before this last visit I felt very capably cared for. Will see how she is at next appt I guess!

Emster30 · 23/03/2010 19:52

Lovely list cherrypie!

Am shattered this evening - long day, severe delays on the tube, so got in and put my feet up. I've cooked every night for ages, so it seems, and DH likes cooking, so I thought I'd let him cook when he gets in, but he's still not here and I'm v v v hungry now! Grr. Poor him having to work so late, I suppose.

I have had two proper MW appointments, one at 16 weeks (actually 17) where I forgot to take a urine sample so she didn't test it, but it did get tested at my 22 week appointment yesterday. My BP and fundal height were also checked both times and heartbeat listened for.

Chulita · 23/03/2010 20:07

cazEm, your DH sounds like a sweetie!

We had a mini panic this evening, DH texted and told me not to cook cos I'm shattered but when he got in DD's temperature was going up and up, she was just flopped in my arms and we couldn't get her temp down so we spent an hour trying to get hold of a doc to see her. Typically by the time they saw her, the ibuprofen had kicked in at last and she'd been outside in the cold she wasn't as bad. By the time we left she was toddling around the room making us feel like frauds! Still, I'm glad we went, she's consistently having temps over 40C for the last 4 days. No idea what it is though. The doc suggested we take her to the hospital and they keep her in overnight and I just burst into tears too many broken nights + hormones are not a good combo!
Just had the most delicious bangers and mash, need to wash up then I'm off to bed.

Happy birthday ducky for tomorrow in case I forget, and sweet dreams everyone!

(I promise to try and post less about me tomorrow )

cakeywakey · 23/03/2010 20:28

Loving the shiny new list

Chulita hope your DD is ok - there's something magical about going through the door of the doctor's surgery that always clears up my DD's symptoms too

I've put on 15lbs already but do have a cracking bump to show for it and new and improved boobs.

LizzieA · 23/03/2010 22:07

I found OBEM really uncomfortable to watch tonight, felt really awful and spent the whole time hoping that we're not going to have to go through it. Thought the parents were amazing in the way the coped.

Going to watch Shameless to recover!

Bubbabear · 23/03/2010 22:13

Hello everyone, there are so many of us now arent there? Plus i just found out one of my friends who thought she would be due in early October is acually 19 weeks (4 days before me) & so another August baby!

cakeywakey new & improved boobs...im kinda in two minds about that. DP is pleased (!) but 34C/D to a 34F(ish?), its getting a bit annoying keep shopping for bras!

tunise surely you should get more sympathy having other kids to look after whilst expecting. Its hard enough just concentrating on looking after a bump!!

Not been in long after a long day at work followed straight away by doctors appointment as had a few concerns. Doc then sent me straight to the hospital for further, second (internal - eeeew)exam. Hours of waiting around, midwife, doc & registrar later & im assured everything is fine with lil bubs. Relieved but soooo tired. At least im working at home tomorow morning

girlsyearapart · 24/03/2010 07:15

morning. Happy Birthday ducky

chulita we have the same here, as soon as you take them into the doctor's surgery/hospital everything seems to magically clear up Hope she's ok. I take it you didn't go in overnight then?

I fell asleep half way through One Born last night- have to watch rest on tape. Reminded me of when my nephew was born though. He kept trying to arrive from 28 wks and was finally successful at 31 weeks. Very scary times I wouldn't wish on anyone but he is nearly 9 now and you wouldn't know he'd been early.

Another woman I know had her baby at 28 wks- no warning just went into labour. He is also fine now and is 2 ish. She is ttc now and is very scared in case it happens again though.

CherryPie3 · 24/03/2010 08:54

Morning girls

Glad you all like the list

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUCKY Hope you have a lovely day!!

Chulita How do children do that? I wish it would happen for us as well, make your appointment then get to surgery to find you're healed . Really do hope your dd is ok tho, not nice when they're ill!!

Bubba Glad everything is ok - what a worry!!

Boobs - Luckily my boobs haven't grown as drastically as you lot (thank goodnesss - they were big enough at 36E pre preg!) I am finding that I have to wear a sports bra tho because although they don't appear to be more than a size or 2 bigger, they feel very heavy. Also I'm finding 'leakages' are happening rather frequently now - completely freaking dh out as he's half convinced himself that somethings wrong and babycherry is gonna be early. Silly sausage, wish he would listen when I say it's normal.

Weight - I haven't weighed myself out of fear of what I might see!! Not intending to weigh myself again until about 8 or 9 months after the birth!! Where hopefully (unrealistically and impossibly) I'll be a lovely size 12/14 again like I was before I had my first baby.

OBEM Not watched it yet but having seen the preview at the end of last weeks show I'm debating whether I really want to or not. My cousins son was born at 27 weeks and it was so scary not knowing what to write in her 'new baby' cards, because we didn't know whether he was going to live or not . He did tho and he's now a happy 6 year old!!

Oooh, my enchiladas were scrummy last night - I had 2 helpings , but I did make very small ones! Does that mean it's ok???

Didn't bring lasagne for my lunch today, but fear not - I have not brough breakfast cereal. I've got a cheesy topped fish pie instead . Want it noooooooow!! Also have a banana and an apple to balance out the cheesy naughtyness, (but then again I have acrunchie too - do I give up now )

Hope everyones well xx

Oooh quite today girls!
I'm just having my lunch. So very unhealthy, home made pot wedges and sour cream and chives. Never mind I've got raspberries for dessert.
How's everyone doing today?
I felt very guilty watchign OBEM becayse I kept thinking 'I really really hope I don't end up in that position with my LO'
