ok so im now thinking ill go with the graco base and car seat as combined they are only about £100. I dont want to spend too much as they grow out of them so fast.

Me and DP are having a lazy weekend so apart from food shopping we're staying in and relaxing

Wonderstuff · 20/03/2010 09:26

Was very sick last night Can't get excited about the baby atm, so focused on the pregnancy coming to an end, its all i'm interested in now. I know it will all be worth it, but I am never ever ever going to put myself through this ever again.
Braving ikea today - dd complaining of backache, may well be that she is copying her daddy for some attention, but getting a better mattress just in case. Looking forward to a coffee and slice of dime bar cake..

memphis83 · 20/03/2010 09:33

dh remember you dont need the base you can attach seat into the car with seatbelt, the base is just to make life easier, my step mum had a graco seat and base and they were really good, another option is a secondhand base if you can find one.
had a really good day at the awards yesterday the meal was fantastic. picked up my dog from vets and he isnt well at all so have been in bits since, woke up in night with awful stomach ache but baby has kicked all morning and pain has gone now but was scsred stiff in night! hope you all have a great day its raining here so were having a lazy day

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/03/2010 09:52

memphis Im going to get the graco travel system now (i change my mind alot lol) and will need to buy the base separate so looking for a secondhand one is a good idea, thanks!

wonderstuff that sounds horrible, I hate being sick hope you feel better soon. YUM to dime bar cake!!

viksam · 20/03/2010 11:22

Hi Guys,
I got over the tatoo rage from the other night, its not going to be as expensive as i thought and he is having a few old rubbish ones covered up, when i saw how happy he was about it i couldnt be mad. Suppose its like us having new hair or something (he has NO hair!)
I have come home from work today coz im feeling poo, think i have picked up something, sore throat and ears and head ache, i could have stayed at work but not going to push the point at the moment.
DH is writing his dads ulegy(?) today, what a shitty thing for him to do, he is very quiet, he's looking at all sorts of photos and things on the internet god love him, i wish i could help.
I think we have decided to have a conservatory done, i have negotiated quite hard with the company and they have come in at a good price, im dead excited and really want it done but got to have the flue moved first, nothing is ever straight forward is it.
Hope everyone is well. x

violetbubbles · 20/03/2010 13:20

Hi everyone

We've opted for the Quinny Buzz 3 pushchair and the MaxiCosi car seat with Isofix base.

Wonderstuff - I've been feeling v sick for the past few days - similar to how I felt in the first 12 wks. Yesterday was awful! I was so busy I forgot to eat lunch - I never get hungry you see and only ever realise I've forgotten to eat when the nausea hits me! . So, on the 5.15pm train home I honestly thought I was going to pass out - cold sweats and everything. Not good! Cinnamon and raisin bagels with cream cheese are my snack of choice at the moment. Also, sweet waffles - stick them in the toaster for 60 secs and serve with strawberries, maple syrup and a squirt of cream. Oh, and hot cross buns for when I'm on the go and don't have time to prepare a tasty snack. Carb overload!!!

We're moving house in less than three weeks so doing lots of packing today - feels good to get it started! Can't wait to have a garden!

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/03/2010 15:35

Hi, I got my free hamper from tesco today, its got make up, baby wipes and a pampers storage box thing for little baby bits, and a load of money off coupons. Well worth it!

Im thinking of going blonde, im currently brunette, any thoughts? Will be professionally done at the hairdresses i must add.

Wonderstuff · 20/03/2010 15:38

Was sick again after lunch - got hungry so inhaled a McDonalds which is never a great idea is it! Ikea going to have to wait for tomorrow, spent the morning helping out my inlaws - which I'm totally happy to do, but they don't do lunch and it got to 1.30 and I was about to pass out!
I'm also loving cinnamon and raisin bagels, forgot to get any at ASDA earlier

Fil - who has broken spine with osteoparosis seemed much better today which is fab, mil casually mentioned that she is going to ask her doc for an Altzimers assessment! Apparently she keeps forgetting things and putting the milk in the cupboard and the sugar in the fridge. Hopefully she is just getting a bit forgetful rather than getting dementia Getting old don't look like fun at all.

Jojobil · 20/03/2010 17:07

I'm looking after my friends 10 year old and 5 year old this weekend (whilst they are in Rome). What a pity it's sooo grey and wet outside.

I had a horrible acid reflex yesterday, but I think/hope it was just a reaction to lots of garlic and prawns for dinner!

Chulita · 20/03/2010 18:14

jojo I had the same, think it was too much cheesy pasta for me!
I'm worn out today even though I've been spoilt rotten by my mum for the last 2 days. I feel drained...hopefully a good night's sleep will help, DD's been waking up all through the night for the last 4 nights and it's properly kicked my arse!

memphis83 · 20/03/2010 19:02

ive not been sleeping right for weeks so i bought one of the hypnobirthing CDs im not normally into stuff like that it was one for a relaxing pregnancy and i put it on and within 10 mins i was asleep!
violet ive been mad into carbs this week 2! spicy tomato snaps, toasted teacakes and toast and marmalade!!! they do say from 24-28 weeks you put on the most weight and i think i will fit into that catagory we are venturing out for a couple of hours for an all you can eat chinese with 18 friends actually feel normal for 1st time during pregnancy in my new jeans, blazer and vest (apart from the big bump and huge boobs )

stac14 · 20/03/2010 20:37

Hi ladies, how are you all?

Sorry you've had a hard time wonder and violet hope the sickness passes

dh have you had a look at the make up in that pack? I was excited by the max factor mascara that is pink at one end and blue at the other lol

Defo carb overload from my end too. Cheesy pasta last night for dinner chulita which gave me indegestion but tasted so good.

memphis were did you get your hypnobirthing cd? I havent saw my aunt for a fortnight and she was shocked at how much I have popped, I feel huge but quite proud of my bump too

We went baby shopping again, matalan has some great stuff in it, got the baby sleeping bag for £8 so soft and cute. Just wanted to check on the ladies who are bottle feeding, have you been told you shouldnt make up bottles until the feed is due? I have a friend who doesnt mix until the feed but my cuz's mrs makes them up about 8 at a time. Just in case I got the formula tubs. I can't breast feed due to meds I have to take. Also a fear of a big baby again lol

Whats everyone been up to? xx

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/03/2010 21:21

stac yeah I had a look at the make up earlier, it does all look quite good. Looking forward to using the mousturizer with a hint of foundation as I get really dry skin so Im hoping it'll be good.

I think the baby stuff in matalan is excellent value, I will be buying alot from there in the near future!

GlastonburyGoddess · 20/03/2010 21:35

Hi all, havent been on thread for over a week so have sort of skim read it, hope your all well.
Interesting to see the picture of DL, think Im about her size, which makes me feel better as Ive been squeezing myself into my normal jeans up to last week and now I just seemed to have ballooned outwards! makes me feel alot better as its my third and Im two weeks ahead of her

dp kindly said"your starting to look pregnant now rather than fat", also your belly buttons starting to stick out again.... thanks love!

Agree with peeps about matalan stuff, got all the plain sleepsuits from there as theyve got little scratch mitt turn over cuffs, much better than mitts which seem to fall off and get lost. very reasonable prices too.

Bought the pram yesterday, was going to wait till end april, but the perfect one came up in perfect condition in the colour I wanted, so couldnt resist! its being delivered the week after next so just got to find somewhere to store it!

dh- very jealus that youve received your tesco stuff, am hoping mine will turn up soon. so far have only received a cuddly cow from cow and gate

Wonderstuff · 20/03/2010 23:47

have dd up, she is suffering with teeth, can't give more calpol until midnight, reminds me of having a newborn, you dont get too many late night cuddles really, got to make the most of them, so we are quietly here watching motd, having a snuggle, yummy.

Going to be shattered tomorrow though

WhatSheSaid · 21/03/2010 07:13

Hope you got a decent amount of sleep Wonderstuff.

beckyg123 · 21/03/2010 08:32

Morning! Can't believe i'm awake already on a sunday- been up over an hour!

wonder and violet I have also been feeling sick- yep, sick if i eat too much and sick if i get hungry! I seem to forget not to eat too much when i'm hungry then get so full so quickly and can't sit down!

oh wonder i can't wait to have those late night snuggles! your door DD though

memphis sorry to see your dog's not good. whats wrong with him? - hope the vet can help! Glad the ceremony went well- did you manage to relax?

Kitchen is almost finished- just a bit of tiling to get done on monday. It has made a massive difference as it really was a health and safety hazard! Changed the layout and have made a small kitchen feel huge. Looking forward to being able to cook with LO when s/he's old enough!

DH and i off to the market today- will hopefully get some butcher meat for freezer and look out at car boot for baby stuff

Hope everyone has a lovely sunday

memphis83 · 21/03/2010 08:32

stac matalans baby stuff looks great i bought some of the burp cloths and vests the other week! im bottle feeding and ive bought the tubs that fit in the neck of the bottle as ive been told you shouldnt pre mix the bottles. i got the cd from ebay as you can buy just the ones you want but its the same one as i got recommended by a hypnobithing specialist (natal hypnotherapy)but you had to buy whole range from them! plus on e bay a few people just use the cd once to download to ipod then re sell them!
i finally got my boots parenting magazine and advantage card vouchers, and my hipp organic booklet but nothing else, i like the hipp one as i get weekly e mails on baby progress!

memphis83 · 21/03/2010 09:30

becky glad to here the kitchen is almost done i cant wait for LO to learn to cook with me either i didnt really relax at awards as vet called just as we were walking in, my dog has kidney faliure they didnt expect him to survive the weekend as he hadnt eaten but he ate lots yesterday and hes perked up so fingers crossed!! i think of him like my baby so its been hard! wish we had a sunday market around here!

Im 23 weeks today! Im going to make a roast beef lunch today and prob have a snooze this afternoon, its def going to be a lazy day

kkfairybrains · 21/03/2010 16:38

oh my god the tiredness really starting to take its toll again! just drove down to my mums and feel like i could have a full nights sleep again! confirmation went well yesterday and was home by 7 and asleep by quarter past! dp's interview went well he thinks so he should hear tomorrow or tuesday whether he gets it or not so fingers crossed!
having my pampering night tonight! really looking foward to it but am afraid il be too tired to enjoy it!
whoever was talking about bottle feeding i'm going to bottle feed too. to be honest i plan on making up the 6 bottles in advance.my friend who had a baby 7 weeks ago was told by her health nurse that making them up in advance is fine. i know what the guidelines are but i can't see that it would be any good for me or baby waiting a half hour for a feed when they want it NOW!
hope everyone else enjoying their sunday x

stac14 · 21/03/2010 19:32

Hi ladies

Thanks for the advice on bottle feeding memphis I also bought the containers for inside the bottles and I am going to make them up with the container inside so its still quicker. Glad you had a good time at the awards, hows your dog?

I havent had any cuddly toys from the baby clubs and I have joined them all lol.

kk so about your pamper night, but dp is going to give me a massage so cant complain

becky were you up at blochairn? we went to the forge market some nice baby stalls in there lol think this is becoming an obsession. Good news about the kitchen, my friend was baking cakes with her daughter today so can't wait till its me

wonder hows your dd? hope your both good

dh The make up was good but pink and blue mascara's not my colour lol

glaston my belly button is starting to pop out too, I feel massive as my bump is quite far out, really worried that they have my due date wrong so going to speak to midwife tomorrow.

Has anyone been badly scarred downstairs? with ds I was tore badly and had 3 or 4 layers of stitching. I am just wondering if this makes a difference regarding natural birth and should I mention it to the midwife? Thanks ladies, your all stars xxxx

memphis83 · 21/03/2010 19:48

stac my dogs been rumming around the garden today but from day to day he changes so dont want to be estatic just yet! my belly button is an outie anyway but now it has spread out! my dh says it freaks him out! mt friend was terribly scarred after tearing front back and internally and she told her midwife so when she started labour it was in her notes so she went in and they kept her in rather than sending her home until baby is almost out to try and stopsame thing happening the second time so its worth mentioning it i would think.
i made my dh laugh today i was tooling at diary and said oh my god ive only got 15 weeks left til im due its 1st time i thought of it like that weeks til the end instead if weeks gone so far, shocking and a little bit scary!
