memphis83 · 22/04/2010 10:18

think i need to go and look at asda although i dont really think i need much now, but it would be rude not too
stac i didnt go in debenhams but i only managed to get one bra its actually a nursing bra from peacocks even though i wont be breast feeding but it instantly feels more comfy, will go to debenhams on monday.
mlic my washing is also on the line, ive cleaned the hob (my least fave job) and soreted out the cupboard that will house baby things so the bottles are already there ready, i just need to stay motivated!
i slept most of the night 1st night without a toilet break but i had a horrible dream that my belly skin was see through and i could see LO but it looked like the baby on the ceiling in trainspotting! really freaked me out!!
my craving this week has been cheese and crackers, think i need to give them a miss as i keep having warped dreams

beckyg123 · 22/04/2010 11:33

violet i missed your post this morning- What a lovely offer- give stac first choice but if she doesn't want them i'll definately use them! I'm going to go to aquanatal on Friday- are you still going or is new house too far away?
I've not been since the first time when I met you! That must have been about 10 weeks ago Just haven't had the energy by the end of the week but i'm feeling much better now so want to get back into routine! How is the new house looking now?

memphis does cheese and crackers affect your dreams? I don't eat cheese at all so won't affect me!

MLIC and memphis your houses will be gleaming by the end of the day! can you do mine tomorrow?

stac14 · 22/04/2010 11:53

thanks for the offer violet i ordered mine online last night, pass them onto becky but thank you for thinking of us that was lovely of you hun x how are you?

dh i went to our asda, got the new organic huggies £9 for 100, thought they would be worth a try. Also got the johnsons wipes and all the toiletries are £1 ish. So worth a look

mlic thats rubbish your asda didnt have much. I saw a gracco car seat junior maxi for £25 but my friends sis works there so i may get it cheaper lol, well a bargains a bargain. Glad you got a better nights sleep with ds. You have been busy today. I have only been to docs and the shops.

chulita glad the skipped dd, sounds like she had a good sleep, pity yours wasnt so good. Mine is crap to so find i'm napping during the day. Hope you get a wee snooze?

becky has your urine been tested since? May be worth enquiring bout the glucose test. I think i havent been offered as my urines been clear.

memphis what a horrible dream, you ok? I was surprised by how comfy the bras are too, their great.

Quite of all of you who have lots of energy, i'm waiting for mine to appear so i can clear more cupboards lmao x

I'll be at aquanatal tomorrow becky so can bring the tickets with me. I haven't been for a few weeks either-been too busy. My Physio has told me to go though as it will really help with my hip, pelvis and back pain.

House is fabby-best move ever! Still no Internet though which is v annoying. Won't be connected until May 4th

Stac-what day you going? Me and DH are going for opening time on Saturday morning. Hoping to beat the crowds. I am struggling with energy too Stac but my appetite has returned and I am able to eat meat again-hurrah!

In other exciting news: my dreamgenii pillow arrived this morning

I'm so sorry i haven't been able to respond to more on the thread. It takes me FOREVER to type on this phone. Roll on May 4th

memphis83 · 22/04/2010 13:43

becky i never normally eat cheese, but when i was little my nan used to say cheese in the evening would give you nightmares so maybe she was speaking the truth!!
stac i was ok once i woke up and starting to get active, my bad dreams are so vivid and really play on my mind, at start of week i had one that dh wasnt actually working away but playing away, i remember feeling really upset, not because he was cheating on me but because she was riding my mototbike!! think this one comes from my childhood my dad used to say he was working in newcastle or scotland but was really at his other womans house, and my dh has been in newcastle, its funny how hormones are effecting me!!

went to asda all i got was some rusks (for me) some spoons and teethers, there seems to be a lot for toddlers at our one too but only thing that took my fanct was a play mat with play bar which i arranged with my sil she would buy for LO!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/04/2010 14:40

Hi all Im back from asda, I got 2 sleepsuits, one is red and the other is blue and they are football themed which DP quite liked lol, also got a bottle sterilizer for £10 down from £30 which we thought was a v good deal and also 2 dummies.

Went across to matalan afterwards and bought some bibs, little cloths for burping/wiping spills etc, moses basket cellular blanket and a couple of white pillow cases to use as a sheet in the moses basket. All this for £10!

viksam · 22/04/2010 19:35

My God MLIC and memphis what are u guys on!! And can you send me some!!
Violet if ur typing on a phone ur doing really well, glad ur house is good.
DH i have brought a few bits a pieces from Matalan I think its really good value, i got 2 brushed cotton moses basket/carrycot sheets for £3, they are really soft and lovely, i like the sleep suites too as they have those little turn ups for scratch mits on the sleeves.
I went to the hospital this morning for consultants check up, glad to say all is well, but im so sooooo tired and have really bad back and under boob ache this evening,i feel like a physical wreck, dh is having to do the tea as im lying on the sofa typing this and trying desperatly to find a comfy position!
I asked the midwife at the hospital about the glucose test and she said you are only offered it if you have previously had a big baby or you are showing signes of developing diabeties, thats for south somerset though, i guess everywheres different.

viksam · 22/04/2010 19:37

Oh yeah i forgot to say, thanks for the opinions on the bumper thing, now what i need is sleeping situations, are u having LO in ur rooms with you or straight into their own rooms??

violet thats great- thank you so much! will see you tomorrow morning then
also, thanks stac for being organised and already ordering yours! lol!

memphis thanks for the website on nappies- had a skim through but will get time at weekend for a good read its got good pictures which helps me! on the cheese topic- i mentioned it in work and they were all surprised i didn't know cheese gave you nightmares! Hopefully you'll have a nightmare free sleep tonight- its so hard when your mind plays horrible games with you.

viksam i was thinking the same thing about sleeping arrangements. We have moses basket to keep baby in with us at first. My book suggests you keep baby in same room til 6 months but that seems like a long time to me. I guess like MLIC we will find a way that works for us.

MLIC do you know when morrison's baby event is on? is it just now? Their offers are usually great

memphis83 · 22/04/2010 21:14

viksam im planning on have LO in our room until he sleeps through night, but as with mlic it may not last that long if he wakes up everytime we move about, dh gets up for work anything between 3.30 and 5.30 so if it means setting a routine by getting him in his room so be it, i think its personal choice, what are you thinking on doing?
mlic saw morrisons had a baby event too i think i will tackle that on sunday!

had a full day cleaning kitchen top to bottom, looks like a showhome now (until dh ruins it on his return tomorrow ) i bought a footstool so i dont have to stretch to top shelves etc and i used it to open kitchen window behind sink and the legs snapped!! banged my arms and chin but i managed to protect bump! im so clumsy!! LO hasnt stopped moving literally ALL DAY belly has been moving like he is breakdancing in there!! surely now hes bigger his movements will slow down?? its starting to get painful at times!!

Yeah same here we will have LO in our room for as long as is possible really, if it turns out we disturb each other too much he'll go in his own room but I know Ill be paranoid if hes not right next to me in his moses basket.

viksam I get under the boob ache too and it can be SO uncomfy and painful, usually in the evening when bump is at its biggest and when trying to get to sleep, might mention it to mw next week too. I need to start making a list of things I need to ask her lol.

memphis LO was the same yesterday and the day before he was really really active, hes calmed down a bit today but still wiggling around in there

stac14 · 22/04/2010 22:52

hi ladies, since we have such a big age gap lo will be with us till she sleeps through. I dont want them to share and i'm hoping we get a bigger house before they have too. I don't think its fair for ds to be woken in the night so it'l be a good while before we stop sharing with the baby. Ideally she would have her own room.

memphis and dh my lo's been the same, i feel like shes trying to burst out or kicking ribs and hips. When does it calm down again? Lol

Thanks for the tip mlic will check thier site

kapars · 23/04/2010 08:30

Morning ladies, I keep waking up really early which is not like me but I guess it is good training.
Thanks for feedback on c-sections. I guess my sil's friend must have had another issue rather than just the low-lying placenta that baby was taken out early.
So I need not panic too much yet.
I am 29 weeks today.
I'm suffering from bad back ache also. Went out for dinner with friends last night and the chairs were terrible and I really struggled. Had to go straight to bed when I got home and prop myself up with about 6 pillows.

My dh is hpefully coming home tonight although he is working the whole weekend still.

viksam we're planning on having lo in our room for first six months but as we are first timers we will just see how it goes. We have a co-sleeper bed that attaches to our bed but it converts to a cot also.

Chulita · 23/04/2010 08:46

It's Friday at last! Hooray! I'm hoping the weather holds out for tomorrow cos I want to take DH to the beach for a picnic breakfast.

We're going to have LO in our room for the first few weeks but not much longer. Once feeding's established we'll move the baby out, even if it's a boy we'll put them both in the same room because there's such a small age gap and our guest room is precious

Does anyone else feel far more pregnant then they actually are?

Wonderstuff · 23/04/2010 09:00

Morning all
Got so much housework to do today and really can't be bothered. Not even dressed yet!
Anyone else feel they have less energy now than a few weeks ago? Dh has hurt his back, which is well annoying, both of us unable to lift much and feeling sorry for ourselves.

WRT sleeping we had dd in our room until she was 2 because we were in a one bed flat - is lovely having her in her own room. Plan to have lo in with us until he is night-weaned - or 6 months whichever is later we have a bedside cot and is so much easier to not have to get out of bed at night. Hopefully this will happen by 6 months when I go back to work! I think dd was still getting milk at night until about 10mo - she was definitly waking every night until she was 18mo. She does sleep much better now she has her own room.

kkfairybrains · 23/04/2010 09:57

morning everyone!
mlic we'r planning in having babby in with us but not sure for how long.its stuff like this that makes me nervous being a first timer! actually making that decision to ship them out on their own is scary! suppose we'l just have to see what sort of baby we have.
kapars im the same as that keep waking up real early! the last 3 mornings i'v slept through til half 7! thats brill for me considering how early i was waking! and im usually the sort to love my lie ins!
WRT baby's movements we were at a bbq last night for a friends birthday and there was a dj there and the music was playing real loud and you know that song 'sexy chick' its a new enough one?! well i love that song and next thing my whole belly was moving all sides it was as if baby was dancing!lol! was a great night but once again was peed off i had to leave early when everyone started to get real drunk and they were all off to town! was sooo tired though so didnt mind in that sense!
was meant to be finishing my spring clean today but have woken up barely able to talk with my throat! glands are massive in my neck and tonsils are swollen but theres no white spots on them so dont thinks its tonsilitis.real drained with it so guess its a sick day for me .
anyone else getting bored with how much you have to rest and how much you've slowed down?! oh and to all those with the bad backs i'v been suffering the same and i cant recommend swimming enough! seriously its done wonders for mine. and i bought a pair of good clarks shoes last week ans between the 2 i'v barely been suffering at all!xx

kapars · 23/04/2010 10:00

chulita Yes! I was just thinking yesterday when struggling home on the tube with huge belly and aching back that I can't believe I have another 11 weeks of this and I am only going to get bigger. Feel ready to burst now!

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/04/2010 10:18

chulita I feel less pregnant than I actually am! I still think my bump is quite small for my dates, Im not concerned though as Im naturally slim and its my first. Im sure Ive got it all to come though!

My physical state seems to be fine apart from the odd niggle, its my mental state Im more concerned about, DP and I went shopping yesterday for baby stuff so something which should be enjoyable, but I just felt like I couldnt be bothered to walk, didnt feel interested in anything and couldnt muster the energy to smile and felt really really down for no reason.
Usually I wouldnt think anything of it, but I get like this nearly every day at some point, it doesnt last ALL day, it usually comes on around 5pm and lasts for an hour or so (just at the time DP comes home from work, but think thats just coincidence!)

memphis83 · 23/04/2010 10:46

chulita i fell more pegnant but just think its because he moves about so much it makes me feel so uncomfortable.
dh i know what you mean about feeling low i used to be such a happy person but i get quite miserable at times, ive learnt not to go out when feeling like that as when people do that silly grin at you because your pregnant (like they have wind) i want to scream, im ashamed to admit it but after standing in asda queue yesterday someone kept staring at my face then bump my face then bump until i actually said 'yes im pregnant have you got a problem?' i find it so rude my mum always told me not to stare!!!
kapers im 29 weeks today 2 and my dh is home after a week away, i wonder if he will notice the extra inch around my tum?

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/04/2010 10:59

memphis yes I get that too where people stare at me, I keep getting paranoid they're thinking "gosh shes young to be pregnant" Ive just turned 20 but I dont feel "too young" to have a baby, if you are ready then why wait I think. I know DP and I could be better off finacially but we're got a lovely flat in a really good area to bring up our son.

Im usually a happy person too but since becoming pregnant Ive turned into Miss Depressed and DP feels helpless cos he doesnt know what to do to make me happy. Im just praying it wont affect me once LO is born and I wont get PND.

memphis83 · 23/04/2010 11:14

dh im sure we will feel fine once our LO's are here although the staring will turn to the baby, i always say people stare because they are looking at you thinking we know what youve been doing! im 27 so i dont think they look at me thinking im too young although some crazy woman asked me for ID 2 weeks ago! my friends daughter had a baby recently at 19 and she was classed as an older mum at her surgery which is crazy! if any one every has the cheek to say oooh your young just say well at least im not a government statistic of the booze britain binge drinkers!!!

Chulita · 23/04/2010 11:14

memphis I hate the staring more than anything else. It's just so rude and being pregnant you already feel freaking obvious - argh! drives me mad

dh I've been the opposite, I'm usually a happy person and this pregnancy I've been even jollier than normal, not sure why but it's a good side-effect

I've got cereal stuck under my 'u' key and I have to really bash it to get a u out, very annoying!

kkfairybrains · 23/04/2010 11:31

dh im 25 and i even feel as though people are thinking im too youngi just know by the way people talk to me.but im in a stable relationship with someone im very happy with and we've been living together for 2 years now so f* what everyone else thinks! we'l have loads of energy for running round!(yeah right)! and on the mental state i've been pretty much ok. was very hormonal before i got preg as was on the pill and the hormones just dont agree with me at all and i feel as though im calmer. i do get days where im very down but thank god they'rre not too often.although i was told that id be a strong candidate for PND and to be aware of it!
