HAPPY BIRTHDAY DH21
The MW told me i was having BH when my bump was going tight on and off. It wasn't painful, just strange tightening! For me it was right across full bump but as i'm a first timer too i can't be much help! lol!

MLIC sounds like you have had a bad night! Hope you get some sleep tonight and manage to keep calm today

Oh wow wonder congratulations to your friend and new baby! Must have been a shock to discover baby was on the way while in the bathroom!

Irish really hope you get home soon! Really wouldn't fancy the long coach trip home... wait for a flight and enjoy the sun!

I just had a great night sleep! Only had 1 trip to the toilet at 2am and a few efforts to turn over! went to bed at 10pm and woke up with alarm at 7am- its been ages since i needed alarm to wake me up as i've usually been stirring for ages! Fingers crossed thats an ohmen for a good day today

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/04/2010 14:38

Hi all thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes

We had a lovely wander down the beach and through the harbour and we sat and ate chips on the beach and the sun shone the whole time. Now having a nice relaxing couple of hours before we head out to get kfc!
This is the last every birthday I celebrate child-free!

kkfairybrains · 21/04/2010 14:45

happy birthday dh!!

viksam · 21/04/2010 15:44

DH isnt that a wierd thought that its ur last birthday ever child free, I'll be 36 in June and sure I'll have that very thought!

I had a new hairdresser today and she's done a really good job. I also went to the carpet shop and booked someone to come measure up and take a look, i have also brought some samples home to try. I want bathroom, kitchen and babys room done all at once, greedy aint i!!
The conservatory is coming on so all is in hand.
Doggy looks funny and smells lovely!
I have gone for a seaside theme for the babys room, I can not wait to get it painted and get the carpet down so i can start arranging stuff.
Is anyone else starting to find things a bit more hard work, im puffed out really quickly lately. Also im not in the slightest bit interested in work, i have way too much going on else where than to be worried about work, it seems so insignificant in comparison to choosing carpets!!!!!
Be interesting if u guys do go to the baby show, theres on at the NEC in brum at the end of may and Im thinking of going so if u go id like to hear all about it.
Violet hows the house, are u loving it?
Becky did ur good sleep bring u a good day?

Chulita · 21/04/2010 19:38

Happy Birthday dh! viks seaside theme sounds lovely I've just got DD a cot bumper (17mths late!) cos she wakes up with her head jammed against the bars. Thing is I got a unisex farm one in case this one's a boy and she's got fairy wall stickers...not really a theme going at all!

DD didn't go to sleep til 10pm last night and then was up for an hour at 4am - I'm shattered tonight, fingers crossed she sleeps all the way through tonight. I totally took sleeping all night for granted before she came along!

memphis83 · 21/04/2010 20:38

becky if you want reusable nappies try the website fill-your-pants.com its a brilliant website and they sometimes have good offers on ( its actually my friends company but after looking everywhere online i still found it most helpful!!) i didnt have a clue what i was looking for and there is loads of choice!!
viksam i didnt know about the baby show in brum may take a drive to that one myself!!

went shopping today and have finally had to bite the bullet and buy a non wired bra, the bump has gone so high its caused a blister from the wires also got a lovely top in h and m for £7 instead of 25!! my SIL also gave me some tomy monitors today so thats saved me money!

viksam · 21/04/2010 20:40

Chulita Cot bumpers is a good subject, do people have them generally or not. Im thinking i will put LO in the cotbed in the moses basket for a while, also have people who have kids already, had them in their rooms for a while, i have read lots of conflicting things, what have you all done in real life??

viksam on the cot bumper thing they arent normally worth it as they say from 6 months they arent allowed them (they say the same about musical mobiles) as they can catch on the ties when they explore and hurt themselves, according to the woman i spoke to when i bought cot she said a lot of countries have banned them and our government had toyed with the idea of banning them 2!! they have brought one out that is breathable mesh with no ties for people who think they need one, (sorry for long post i had lots of chat on this last week!!)

hey ladies

becky I think I will get my aunt to go with me, I have bought all her stuff and there are other family members who have still to buy the things but I would still love a nose about lol so maybe I will see you there

dh sounds like you have had a fab day, how was your kfc?

viksam I am like you when I start something I want it all done yesterday, hate waiting and defo cant concentrate on other things if I am wanting things done lol. My sil and bil are decorating for us but it is taking forever and driving me mad. The seaside theme sounds lovely. I need to wait till we have a new house then I think it will be the winnie the pooh theme as my aunts friends is painting me cavases for her room

chulita hope you have a better night tonight hun, has she been better since being unwell? What happened with the chicken pox?

memphis I had to go buy maternity bras, I had the non-wired but with the growing bump they were still chaffing. I got 2 for £22 from debenhams. Was advised to go for maternity as they have more loops on the back and you start on the smallest loop and move out so it can grow with you, were normally you go from last loops and move in. (does that make sense)

mlic how did your day go hun? hope it wasnt too bad

tsc great to hear from you, do you think they have your dates wrong or is lo defo just a big baby? I think they have me 2 weeks out but who knows lol

I'm going to have a wee look into this cot bumper thing as I am so out of touch lol

Sorry for long post totally get carried away on this

stac and becky - I have TWO FREE TICKETS available for the baby show at the weekend. My DH got some comp tickets through work and we won't use them all. Let me know if either of you want my spare tickets and we can arrange a pick-up x

beckyg123 · 22/04/2010 08:04

Morning!
Another good night sleep for me! WOW! 10-7 with 1 toilet break at 3am long may it last! lol!
viksam yes- i did actually have a good day- was really productive in work then had a long walk around the park with my friend and the dog! It was a lovely evening here

stac sorry ment to say about the glucose test- i haven't been told anything about it! I did have glucose in my urine before getting the antibiotics- should i be asking? Is it to test for diabetes?
What day you going to the show? I'm not sure yet- waiting for my friend to get back to me.

I got my letter through for antenatal classes. Start on 13th May for 4 weeks! Not long now

My MIL is making us bumpers for cot- along with matching bedding. I had never heard anything about them not being safe- more things to worry about! Think we will be keeping baby in moses basket in with us for a while anyway!

Chulita · 22/04/2010 08:14

viks the general thought is that cot bumpers aren't a good idea. I got one because I'm pretty sure one of the reasons for DD waking up at night is because her head is jammed against the bars. When they're little it just makes the cot look nice but as they get older they can pull the ties/pull themselves up on it etc. Then again, a lot of the advice they give you is just to cover themselves. I don't see any problem with them and had been meaning to get one for her for a long time. There's no way she can undo the ties and if she stands on it it collapses so no worries there either. (Incidentally you're supposed to wash all soft toys every 3-6 months to kill bugs but does anyone actually do that?)
DD actually slept from 6pm til 7am this morning! Hooray! I slept really badly but at least she's not grumpy today No chicken pox stac, thank goodness, that was something I didn't need right then!
Right, off for breakfast, having a slow morning today!

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/04/2010 09:31

Morning all
stac the kfc was lovely thanks just nice not having to cook!

DP and I are going shopping later on after he's given his mum a lift to the docs.
I've made a list of most of what I think LO will need so will get some of that today.
Also going to asda for their baby event to stock up on some practical things

What is everyone else upto today?
