Gracie123 · 17/04/2010 17:22

Yeah, I didn't remember it being too bad, but ATM I feel like I am barely keeping on top of laundry, yet DS is constantly walking around covered in jam and grass stains!
Not sure I'll be investing in more (just in case I find I can't deal with it) and the terries actually worked really well. If only I can remember where I stored those wrappers...

nessmay · 17/04/2010 18:27

Hi Chulita. I will be going to Gloucester Royal, as I'm diabetic I thought it'd be best to go for the biggest hospital, although I do work very close to Cheltenham Hospital. They've been really good. Whereabouts where you?

It's been an eventful day, my sister ended up having an emergency c section (when I spoke to her this morning she thought she was going home!). She's had a little girl called Jasmine and she's a very small 5 lb 1, they are both fine. I shall definitely enjoy my Chinese tonight and will have extra crispy duck to celebrate

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/04/2010 18:32

Congrats to your sister ness Jasmine is a great name, its my middle name enjoy your crispy duck I had it last night its so yummyyyyy!!
Am now having a v healthy chicken, salad and potato dinner to make up for it lol.

Firerise · 17/04/2010 18:52

Congratulations on being an auntie nessmay! Sounds like a very eventful day!

I am really suggestable with food at the mo so the second I read about someone eating Chinese or whatever I instantly NEEED it! Lol

Haven't been on in ages as have been v busy lately with brothers wedding, buying pram, reusable Nappies (went for lollipop 2 part) and have spent this week off work painting the nursery like a jungle! Had a lovely spa day yesterday and have decided the only place I am truly comfortable now is in a swimming pool- it was lush!

Have to catch up on all the chat and see what you've all been up to!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun today!

nessmay I had a wander round both and liked Cheltenham a lot better so ended up having DD there although we lived closer to Gloucester. I just thought the hospital was cleaner and less 'medicalised' iyswim although we did end up with an emcs anyway!
Hope you feel better soon mlic!

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/04/2010 21:25

Hi all, just checked our bank online and my HiP grant has gone in already, I only posted it a week ago! So v happy about that I can start buying things for the nursery

I got a letter today telling me when my scan is (16th June) to check the position of the placenta so get to see LO at 36 weeks which will be a treat! Fingers crossed the placenta will have moved up though

Hope everyone has had a good day today.

beckyg123 · 18/04/2010 09:56

Morning all!
I am feeling like a new person!!! its amazing how well the antibiotics have worked! I think this infection has been working on me for quite a while as I really can't believe how "normal" i feel now!

We decided to go down to london for wedding on friday- it was lovely and i'm so glad i went. My friend was so beautiful and her day was perfect, felt so happy so share it with her!! Met a girl who is due 3 days after me, she was there with her 2yo so had a good chat with her!

Even after a long train journey i feel good today. MIL painted babies room while we were away- its just done a sand colour but looks really bright! Cot has arrived so think we can get that up today Other than that, going to have a lazy day around the house and tidy up.

Violet so glad to hear baby is fine and scan went well

stac hope you DS is ok- he must have been in pain, poor boy

nessmay welcome to thread- glad to hear your sister and baby are both ok!

welcome back firerise and gracie

Hope everyone has a lovely sunday

stac14 · 18/04/2010 15:59

Hi everyone

How are you? Welcome back gracie and firerise, glad your ms has cleared gracie how have you been otherwise?

becky thats great your better hun, must have been some virus. we had family up from london this weekend it was great to catch up

mlic aw hun, do you know what the stomach pains are?

Congrats on being an aunty nessymay hows your sis?

violet great news about the scan, they shouldnt say stuff to you unless they know for sure, but at least lo's is well

dh I got my hip too, very quick I thought so have done some shopping for lo, what are you going for?

Hope everyone else is well, sorry if I havent mentioned you, not read though completely

Well dp looks set to be off work for a couple of days, and DSS is still sore but he's not walking on his foot properly so has gave himself a blister on his outer foot. Theres no convincing him to walk the other way, sure he will when he realises how sore the blister is. Other than that I have reached 27 weeks is that the 3rd trimester? Have a midwife appointment tomorrow, do the appointments get closer together now?

hope your all having a good sunday? xxx

DP and I are going shopping on Thurs for it

Jojobil · 18/04/2010 19:15

Hi Gals! What a glorious day! We went for a stroll in the wood, lunch and icecream. Lovely!

My pelvis is now often killing me, but I managed quite well today - I think DH made a lovely cajun chicken, feta, fresh spinach, cherry tomatoes and romano peppers salad for dinner with yummy bread and balsamic dressing. And I just booked a 2 bedroom cottage in Aldeburgh for a week in August. I think baby will be fine by then. Nearly 2 months old and it is nice to have a little sea side time! DD will love it. Very excited about it actually. This site is lovely www.bestofsuffolk.co.uk/index.asp I obviously have not gone yet. But it looks good Hurray!

kkfairybrains · 18/04/2010 21:25

Morning all, Im now officially in the 3rd trimester!
I feel like LO's movements have slowed down, he doesnt seem to kick and punch quite as frantically as he used to, he's still moving around enough for me to not be too concerned but I will mention it next wed at my mw app.

Was supposed to be meeting a friend today but she might have to cancel so im a bit in limbo as i dont really know what shes doing.

Got some boring housework to do which im putting off but really should get started bleughhh I hate hate hate housework, esp cleaning bathrooms.

Hope everyone else has a better day than I do!

Thanks for the reassurance mlic I can def feel movements, even sitting here now hes pushing me around! I laid down earlier and almost straight away he was kicking away, I think hes laying crossways and his feet feel quite low down.

I can also proudly announce I have changed the bed and cleaned both bathrooms I can now sit here with a cuppa tea and big white choc chip cookie yum!

nessmay · 19/04/2010 13:25

jojo your salad sounds yummy, although I am addicted to feta at the mo!

MyLifeIsChaotic I am originally for Lancashire so am a northern girl too, have lived in the south for 7 years now. I still insist on calling it tea rather than dinner (as will our child), she'll also be made to watch corrie and have everything with gravy! It's just something I have to do

Congrats DesperateHousewife21 on getting to the 3rd trimester! Is that 28 weeks? That'll be me next week, so now getting slightly about all the things I haven't bought yet

nessmay · 19/04/2010 13:28

Meant to say 'slightly worried', obviously thinking about feta too much!

Btw my sister and Jasmine are doing well, all the newborn clothes are too big for her though! They are hoping to go home tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm 180 miles away so haven't met her yet, but we are going up on the bank holiday weekend

Jojobil · 19/04/2010 13:47

Me too nessmay ! I love feta! And will be making spinach and ricotta gnocchi for dinner tonight Jasmine will fit in her newborn clothes in no time!

How old is your DS MLIC ?

Chulita · 19/04/2010 14:04

Hello all!
I think I have piles, sorry if TMI but I've been constipated for ages and have been eating copious amounts of dried apricots and prunes but it's not really working. Any suggestions?
It's a gorgeous day here, I might spend the afternoon enjoying the sunshine.
White choc chip cookie sounds delish!

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/04/2010 14:24

ness no I was 27 weeks yesterday, most online sites and books etc say 27 weeks is start of 3rd trimester so I'm going by that so if your 27 weeks too your in the 3rd trimester now

chulita I get constipated every now and again, LO seems to love messing about with my bowels as I seem to be a bit more gassy too I try to eat fresh fruit every day (not copious amounts Im not a saint LOL) but at least an apple/banana etc. (I do eat veg/salad too so I should be getting my 5 a day in there somewhere!)
Yes the cookie was yummyyy I got a 5 pack of them from Tesco on Sat, I blamed it on cravings haha!

Weather isnt all that nice today, yesterday was lovely. Really annoyed my friend cancelled on me I really didnt want to be sitting around all day today.

Jojobil · 19/04/2010 14:27

Chulita Psyllium husk is great for constipation. Any health food shop will have it.

kkfairybrains · 19/04/2010 16:07

dh im with ya on the gassiness! not sleeping well at all and keep being woke up with kicks but last night i kept being woken by severe pains in my stomach and was getting a bit worried and then out of nowhere came a big fart that even woke dp up! lol! i hate housework most of the time too but sometimes i can be in the mood for it! thats tomorrows plan for me! spring clean house from top to bottom!
chulita get some anusol cream for the piles and for the constipation im not sure. go with what jojo said and stac also mentioned something before for it.
bet you cant wait to see jasmine ness!

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/04/2010 16:26

kk haha thats hilarious about your big fart! I dont mind hoovering so much or cleaning the kitchen but ugh cleaning the bathroom is hideous esp after DP has been in there before going to work

Was meant to mention earlier that our benefit has finally come through and its not a bad sum actually, its topping up DPs wages just enough to keep our heads above water. I told them we are expecting a baby in July and they said I can let them know about this 13 weeks in advance which would be now! Not sure how that works though as you need evidence which is usually in the form of child benefit but of course I dont get this yet. They love to make it confusing dont they?

stac14 · 19/04/2010 17:10

hi ladies, how are you all?

chulita my bowels are the same, doc gave me lactulose which is disgusting. Also been advised to eat raisins which i found quite helpful.

dh i'm joining you in 3rd tri, was 27wks on saturday. I dont mind some housework but defo have pet hates lol. Thats great news bout your benefit, remember it should be backdated till the date of your claim.

jojo how did you get on on friday?

Did you go out mlic? Hows ds?

kk lmao about your big fart, the mw told me that lo will be kicking your bowel and intestines causing you to be windy so if it happens again blame the baby lol

ness thats great news bout your sis and baby, not to long till you see jasmine.

Well antenatal went fine. My thyroid levels are normal. I have been booked in for a section on 14th July due to the scarring since ds's birth. Its so wierd thinking that we know exactly when she will be here. Don't know what happens if i go early but i will ask at my next app. X
