Thanks kk I look forward to seeing your pic

Dont worry stac and chulita no one has to put a pic up, its completely up to you

Im seeing my friend later today, hes having a baby with his DP, they had their 12 week scan yesterday so I think that makes her due in Oct. Im not very close to his DP though, I dont know her v well as they havent been together long and everytime I see her she doesnt really talk so I cant really connect with her even though we have something very big in common!

violetbubbles · 14/04/2010 10:21

Hi everyone
thank you so so much for responding to my post about bump size fears. It's been very reassuring reading your stories. I'm looking forward to seeing LO again on Friday afternoon. I just hope he/she's in a good position to get accurate measurements. . I'll keep you posted xx

DH21 I LOVE your bump pic. I'll try to upload one later

Went back to work yesterday after the big move at the weekend. Feeling a little bit (actually a big bit) knackered but loving my new house so much I don't care.

Hope everyone is having a good day. And Becky hope u are feeling a bit better today!

I can't wait to get my Internet connection sorted. I have numb thumbs after typing this message on my phone

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/04/2010 10:28

Aw thanks violet thats really kind of you. Will be great to see yours Good luck for Fri!

Jojobil · 14/04/2010 10:29

I would put a picture of my belly, but I'm afraid my breasts take over some of the view. They really annoy me now! They usually a normal size but for some reason, when I become pregnant it's like that's all there is! Breasts. Like a milking cow.

I feel really low today. My DH had a bicycle accident in mid December and I had to look after him till February. And even though he is back to "normal", he never really got back on track with the pregnancy or me. Thank God I have my DD and cat to give me hugs! He does work hard and I am sure he means well. But I just feel really lonely and left to cope on my own. I did tell him and he says it's not true and he does care. But his actions are one thing and words another. I ended up getting really angry on Monday and we had a proper row. He is really cross now and says he is frightened of me. I decided I will bath DD and read her books as usually we sure and lots of nagging of mine comes from that as he needs to be reminded of what time it is etc... And I just have to cope - this way I want feel disappointed. Feeling fat does not help!

Sorry for the rant!

stac14 · 14/04/2010 12:25

dh i may post a pic but with my top still covering. I have the same over hang as chulita and even after ten years, going back to pre pregnancy weight, its never going away lol

chulita you must be knackered, have you thought of looking online for some tips as to how you settle dd?

kk sounds like you had a fab day. When do you get your bloods back?

violet have you got all the unpacking done? I would love a house, luckily i am on a first floor flat so not too many stairs. Pity its not bigger though lol

jojo sorry your having a crappy time. My dp is on board with the pregnancy but we dont seem very intamate which he says is because he is worried he hurts us. Yeah right! I have decided we need to have a talk, without going scatty. Do you have any ideas bout what to do your end? Could being ill have made dh depressed? Would explain the lack of interest in things that would normally make him happy. (soz long post) hope you get sorted x

Chulita · 14/04/2010 12:41

stac I might do the same, doesn't seem fair to look at other peeps bumps without showing mine, lol! I have had a pootle around different sites to find tricks on settling but haven't found anything that works yet. She has been ill for over 10wks straight with one thing or another so I think that's just knocked her off course. If we can just get a few weeks of healthiness we might be ok. however at the toddler group today someone announced that all her kids had chicken pox but only after we'd all been there an hour fricking inconsiderate cow...so now I'm going to be checking like a fiend for spots

jojo sorry things are bad at the mo. I hope it's just a matter of time before your DH gets his head back in gear. My DH got shot in Iraq and his mental state took a lot longer to heal than his foot, he wasn't himself for a loooong time.

violet at own house, we can't do anything with ours, I long for a wall a different colour than 'magnolia'!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/04/2010 12:55

stac yeah course thats fine

Same goes for everyone else just do what you feel comfortable with its just a bit of fun for us

stac14 · 14/04/2010 13:25

well jojo I take it all back just spoke to dp and went a bit scatty, to cut a long story short we are trying to set up our own mobile valeting business, but its been one thing after another. The van should have been ready to come home tonight but alas the man fixing his alarm cant do it till friday. Dp as usual being very amenable with everyone else has said this is fine. AARRGGHH sick of men!!

chulita her kids wont be contagious now hun so try not to worry, did they have any spots?

dh I will get a pic on as soon as I can hun

hows everyone elses day? xxx

Spirael · 14/04/2010 14:01

Afternoon all. Hope things are going ok for everyone! I can't really complain that much here, my day is going surprisingly well, despite the niggling cold that's been hanging around and ruining my nasal breathing.

My new toys are fine, Stac. I was happily opening up the boxes yesterday and comparing the sizes and colours of everything to my colour scheme. Then examining the light fitting and working out the best way to attach it to the ceiling kept me entertained while dinner was cooking! I'm easily amused, it seems.

Hmm... I might be persuaded to organise a picture of the bump over the weekend, DesperateHousewife. I feel a bit rough at the moment from the cold, but hopefully it will have passed by then. I might join the group in keeping covered with clothes though, as I fear the world is not yet ready for the sight of my naked belly!

I didn't sleep fantastically well last night and feared today was going to be a bit of a struggle. One side of my nose is constantly gunked up and the other side keeps getting a nose bleed. The resultant tissues are colourful, to say the least!

However it was worthwhile dragging myself into work in the end, as our pay reviews are finally done and I've been given a 2.5% increase, which isn't half bad in the current climate. I've also been informed that I'm allowed to start working from home at least one day a fortnight once I come back from decorating next week! Woo!

Anyway, gotta go sleep sit through a meeting now. Yaaawn... At least LO is currently kicking away, which will a) entertain me and b) keep me awake.

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/04/2010 14:17

spirael taking pics of your LO will def make you feel better! Looks like Im the only one brave enough to get my belly out, Ill prob feel different with my second though!

Chulita · 14/04/2010 14:46

stac her children are covered in them but 3 others that go round to play all the time were there today too and the little girl had a couple of spots that had just shown up on her back. DD was at a different group with them yesterday too so it looks like the girl is just getting the spots today, that's why I'm so annoyed!

DeeLite · 14/04/2010 15:46

Great photo, DH. I love seeing other bumps but it's rare to see a bare bump so I was really interested to see yours and compare! I think mine is quite similar to yours. Phew - I'm normal!

I have a belly shot taken in Week 26 that I sent to my family (as they live abroad so I don't see them often) so will crop my face out for anonymity when I get home this evening and then put on my profile.

stac14 · 14/04/2010 15:49

no wonder chulita thats the last thing you and dd need just now. Did the lady who took her kids for a play date know? Chicken pox spreads like mad too. Feel for you hun x

memphis83 · 14/04/2010 16:07

well the ive taken the plunge and added my bump to my profile dh your not the only one now!!
ive had a cleaning day today dh is coming back tomorrow night now from work so im very happy, ive really hated him being away since being pregnant, my mum bought the LO a gruffalo trunki to take to various family homes when we are visiting to put toys and bit in if we are there for the day, not a needed purchase but we will be going away in january and september then abroad when hes a year old so i would have bought one anyway for that!!
our road is closed in the evenings for a week for resurfacing so between 9 and 430am there are construction trucks everywhere so going to my mums for night to sleep!!
chulita what a selfish woman, you dont want to be near kids with pox either while pregnant!
jojo sorry about the rough ride you seem to be having, men normally need a kick up the backside so this must be tough for you!

been looking at other threads on MN some of the women seem vile on them glad this thread hasnt attracted some of them witches!

Jojobil · 14/04/2010 17:15

Thank you for the support girls. I still feel rough - a bit of a hormonal tearful day. But I've had lunch with a friend who is 35 weeks pregnant and her hubby is a typical men in denial too. So that made me feel better!

I've uploaded a picture of my belly - with a top on. All I can say is I can't wait to be a size 10-12 again... And mostly for my boobs to be back to normal.

Hope you girls are feeling better! Sorry to hear about the illness! I remember my DD had a couple of months like this when she was 3. It will pass! x

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/04/2010 17:22

dee I love looking at bumps too! If you go on youtube and type pregnancy timeline there are LOADS of them, all bare bumps, I look at them all the time and compare to mine which I know is a bad thing to do as everyone is diff! Looking forward to seeing your pic

memphis and jojo they are both lovely pics, well done for braving it and putting them up, thank youuuu!!

Looking forward to seeing anymore pics that people want to put on

mlic she did sleep better from 11 months (we did CC to drop night feeds) til 13 months when she got ill and since then it's been rubbish ('fricking awful' DH interjects ) It is just cos she's teething/ill - it's true that all she wants is a cuddle but she doesn't settle if I leave her yet. It is only 8 days since her last sky-high fever though so she might calm down in the next few days. (then she'll have to get her MMR and it'll go tits up again!)

I just had steak and chips for tea followed by 2 helpings of golden syrup sponge pudding and ice cream any wonder I'm looking rotund?! lol!

stac14 · 14/04/2010 22:32

Hey ladies

jojo and memphis lovely bumps, i will get one on as soon as.

chulita hopefully dd will settle again now she's feeling a bit better. I'm a greedy bugger at the mo but try to have fruit in so i can pig out without feeling guilty.

mlic he's still annoying me but i am choosing to ignore it, i'm likely to be a bitch if i start lol. Aw man flu, its a nightmare. Hope hes better soon

memphis totally agree bout some of the other threads, so glad we have a nice bunch here x

mlic it's so annoying how any break in routine just throws them all off! Hope you have an easy day today. DD was only up twice last night so I wasn't as bad.

It's lovely and sunny today, I need to think of something I can do with DD that involves being outside.

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/04/2010 10:44

Morning all,

Miserable weather here, finishing up my cuppa tea then going to see my sister and her kids today

Looking forward to seeing anymore bump photos that people are putting up!

Quick question, my pre-preg t-shirts still fit me, just wondering when Ill actually need maternity tops. Obv bump does show in them but they are still long enough and dont look tight.

Chulita · 15/04/2010 12:38

Just caught up on desperate housewives from last night and was bawling my eyes out by the end...should've known it would be a sad one!

It's a gorgeous day here, might go for a wander when DD wakes up. We went for a walk this morning but pushing her buggy really makes my lower stomach hurt, might have to go somewhere where she can do most of the walking!

kkfairybrains · 15/04/2010 13:26

lovely bump pics ladies! i'l try and get dp to take one today if he can fit me into his busy schedule!
stac i dont know when i'l get them results.i presume at my next hospital appointment which is 4 weeks. kind of worrying now that they had to cut the test short because i had my gp check up yeasterday and there's sugar in my urine which COULD be a sign of high blood sugar so we'l have to wait for the results of glucose test to see. also he said i'v slightly low blood pressure and nothing to worry bout yet just to keep an eye on it. so as a result of everything plus my back and sciatica.....................i'm not allowed to go on holidays!!!!. he said i could be fine to go this week but everything changes week to week from now on and he wouldn't be happy with me going.oh well! just gonna go somewhere in ireland for a weekend. but heard baby's heartbeat for the first time! was lovely! evrything done so different over here i think! and he measured my belly and its right for the dates so i'm happy enough!
hope evryone feeling good today.oh i also started swimming so i'v been the last 2 days and feeling the better for it! XX

DeeLite · 15/04/2010 13:44

Bump pics are great - keep them coming! There's something wrong with the power to our computer at home so I haven't been able to upload mine yet.

I have a question for existing mums: for various reasons, we really want to visit family in Ireland six weeks after my due date. To minimise driving, we're intending to take a slow ferry from Swansea rather than going to Holyhead which has quicker boats. The journey will involve a four hour drive to the ferry, a ten hour overnight ferry and then a three hour drive at the other side. Is this too much to ask of a tiny baby and post-natal mum?

I really want to go and baby will too (lots of pressies and spoiling by granparents) but it will be much cheaper if I book now but I'm worried that I'm counting my chickens booking now and that the driving will be too much.

Any thoughts / experience of long journeys with newborns?
