memphis I have blood tests on Thursday and it is for glucose - I am 28 weeks tomorrow. Basically no eating from the previous evening. But double check.

hiya, sorry not been about today- feeling a bit sorry for myself and generally not quite right! Saw GP earlier and she was annoyed with maternity for fobbing me off last night, she feels they don't take it seriously enough! However she did urine test and i have protien, glucose and blood all present in fairly high amounts! She has started me on antibiotics and sent sample to lab for further tests. She is not convinced blood is coming from urine so i've to keep an eye on that! Otherwise baby moving fine and heartbeat was nice and strong
Also been signed off work for the week to take things easy!

we are supposed to be getting the train to london on thurs for my friends wedding- the way i feel today we won't be going but will wait til later in week to see if antibiotics make any difference. would also feel guilty going away while on sick leave!

DH hope baby gets back to normal- mine has quite days and active days! Glad you have decided to call MW if your unsure- thats what they get paid for! lol!

KK a holiday sounds great- hope Dr says its fine! Do you need them to okay it for insurance? Good luck with the test and enjoy every second of your spa treatment- mine was just amazing a few weeks ago!

stac and Jojo it is so true- this is your body and your baby- be assertive about your wishes!

on the housework topic- spireal sounds like relationship bliss with you! MY DH is fantastic for a few days then goes into lazy mode for weeks! He has been better with pregnancy but seriously sometimes i think he is blind!!! However if i ask it is done, just wish he would take more initiative as i hate feeling like a nag! I'm not his mum, although i think if she had done more nagging i wouldn't need to now

memphis how is your bump now? do you have bruising? I have a few random bruises on my bump- i keep forgetting how big i am and bumping into door handles and corner of units etc, they seem to take ages to go away tho!

violetbubbles · 13/04/2010 10:03

Hi everyone
just been catchup up on all of your posts from the weekend. We moved from our top floor tenement flat to a lovely house with a garden on Friday. I LOVE it!
We still haven't got our internet sorted yet though so having to read and reply using iPhone, which is a bit of a challenge!

BECKY so sorry to hear you're having a stressful time at the moment! Hope you're feeling a bit better today xx

I had my 28 week appointment with midwife yesterday and my bump is still measuring small so I am being sent for a scan on Friday to check baby is growing okay. Trying not to worry but can't help it. Anyone had any experience with babies measuring small?

Thanks x

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/04/2010 10:19

violet wow I bet you love having a house, I live in a first floor flat, its a really lovely 2 bed flat but it has a communal garden that we share with 3 other flats so its not the same as having your own.

I want to get out for a walk today but its really windy which always puts me off. I need to go and get some bits for tea so was going to have a short walk before it, I cant spend another day on the sofa, Ill turn into one!

memphis83 · 13/04/2010 10:41

thanks jojo on advice on glucose, going to ring docs as my appointment isnt until after 2 so i cant not eat all day.
becky the bruises have gone from my belly but scratches are still there, im clumsy too, i rolled out of bed this morning thinking i was in middle but i was on the edge!
violet i got told i was too small at 18 weeks and it got noted for my 20 week scan eventhough bump was small LO was measuring 22 weeks there just wasnt any fat and not much water its unfair to worry people i think they expect everyone to swell up and be huge! hope scan will be ok will be nice to get to see LO again.

really sunny here but windy just going to have a bit of a lazy day and fetch my weeks shopping which will be meals for 1 and im going to watch nanny mcphee later with my mum! i will be glad when LO is here and i can take him to see kids films so i dont look strange being only adult without kids in there

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/04/2010 11:20

Just thought Id let people know LO has been moving loads today, alot more than yesterday and I think Im going to put it down to me being constipated, poss reducing his moving around space as I went to the toilet earlier today (sorry tmi) and it was as if he suddenly had loads of room and started wriggling and kicking loads!

I MUST get dressed after watching to buy or not to buy and go shopping. Im thinking some sort of pie for dinner tonight.

stac14 · 13/04/2010 11:36

morning all,

becky think your doc is right bout your mw thats terrible. Have you to go back to the hospital?

violet my ds was apparantly measuring small and with little fluid at 7months, he was born weighing 10lb 6 and soaked the doc that was breaking my waters, scans are only a guide and not great for actual measurements

dh glad to hear lo is moving loads hun, think they get tired days too. Its very dull here too so not doing much

memphis let us know how nanny mcphee is, i want to see it but dont have the patients to sit in the pics just now

Hi tsc nice to see you back. Hows things been?

Is it normal to get a glucose test at 28wks? No-ones mentioned it to me and my next app i will be 27 wks. Can't believe we're hitting the home stretch ladies, its been so quick x

kkfairybrains · 13/04/2010 11:36

yummy pie dh! can i come to yours for dinner?!
memphismy app was at 8 this morning and i had to fast from 12 last night.im in ireland though maybe its different in england?
well they had to cut my test short as the whole fainting thing happened at the hospital! was very embarrased! so i had to miss out on the last bloods. happened while she was drawing the blood from my arm and lasted about 10 mins and my clothes were saturated with the cold sweat i broke out in. so they called the midwife and checked my blood pressure and that was perfect so they said they'l check my iron and it might be that.just real frightening when it happens and a horrible feeling and its the 3rd time its happened this week so just getting a bit worried.
off to the spa at 2 o clock so loking forward to that.gonna have a lie down now though as stil dont feel right.
hope everyone is doing ok today and sorry for the me me me post! xx

Spirael · 13/04/2010 11:50

I was the other way around when I was measured by the MW last week... I was only 25+1 but measured 27!

I'm putting it down to the fact that 1) I'm a bit on the short side so the baby has no-where to go but outwards and 2) My family have a reputation for producing babies that are a touch larger than average: both my brother and I were around the 9lb mark at birth!

It obviously has nothing to do with all the cake I've been eating.

Anyway... Not sure whether it helps at all violetbubbles, but my laid back MW was utterly unworried by my measurements and said that a few cm here and there really wasn't anything to worry about as women and babies differ in shape and size, so one chart does not fit all. It's the first time I've been measured though... I might get told off more in the future if I keep expanding too rapidly.

Glad your LO is moving more now, DesperateHousewife. Mine seems to have two or three days of being relatively quiet, then a few days of manic activity! I was watching my entire belly shudder yesterday evening - slightly disconcerting! My DH seems to have magical calming hands however, the moment he touches me then LO goes peaceful. Might be useful after the birth! If LO is acting up, they'll be handed straight to Daddy to deal with.

Not too much happening over in my world today. Got lots more new toys parcels delivered this morning, however! Not overwhelmingly exciting though, a nappy bucket, laundry bags, lovenest and light fitting. I'm pretty much set now that once the nursery is decorated next week then everything can be put in the rightful place all ready for LOs arrival.

I might be a touch over-prepared. Just a little bit.

Chulita · 13/04/2010 12:14

kkfairy my mum said with her first baby she fainted a lot, even in supermarkets and church. She did have quite a low iron count but even on supplements she'd just collapse. With her other 6 pregnancies she was fine, just that one was bad!
No harm in being prepared spirael, I'm thinking I should really get a move on before I get to the 'just want to sit on my arse and do nothing' stage

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/04/2010 13:01

kk course you can! Its steak pie yum yum!

spirael yeah its the same with my DP he has calming hands as soon as he touches my belly LO goes quiet. Not convinced it'll be the same after the birth hehe.

GlastonburyGoddess · 13/04/2010 13:40

quick post as I havent been around for a week or two. Having massive problems with ds1 at the moment and the easter hols are proving a challenge, have asked for him to be referred back to the specialist pead so will have to wait and see how soon the appt comes through. Did anyone see that prog last night-young autistic and stagestruck? was a good prog but the little girl hiding under the curtain reminded me of ds1 so much, along with the little boy with aspergers. I thought his mum was amazing considering her other two children had asd and downs.
ds1 has wet himself repeatedly the last few days and i found he had peed against the radiator in the front room yesterdaynot sure what the hell is going on. his behaviour is completely off the wall and has been since the week before he broke up, he had supply teachers which he cant seem to sope with at all-dreading sept when he moves classes and teachers again, they said they are going to start some transitional process once they know who'll he'll have teaching him.

An update on the redundancy-have def been made redundant so will be leaving 30th April, quite grateful as they only had to give me one weeks notice by law, so cant moan as ive been given 4weeks. Thatll take me up to 30 weeks so I think ill just try and get a few agency shifts after that, then claim MA(hopefully!) after about 35/38weeks.

My HIP came through-very quick only took 12 days.

Found out today that could be eligable for sure start grant £500- no way did I think we might be eligable, thought it was mainly if you were on benefits but apparently we get tax credits at a higher element than the family element- worth investigating if you get tax credits

managed to get my tummytub at a car boot sale at the weekend-shocked as i didnt think id find one, got it for £3 so lovely bargain! women was releived someone finally knew what it was! also bought a new in the pack grobag swaddle sheet from her for £2 so some good buys.

sorry I havent been able to catch up properly with the last two weeks of posts, I have scanned them and Im glad everythings ok with you beckyg123, hopefully the tests will come back ok, fingers crossed for you.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/04/2010 16:14

Go on ladies you know you want to post a pic of your tummies!

Ive done it

beckyg123 · 13/04/2010 16:39

Hi all- still not feeling great today- my kidneys are really achy and I can't get comfy! Taking my antibiotics and get test results back on thursday so will know more then. The dog woke me up at 5am for toilet- why me? DH was there too! Really hope this is not a sign of how things will be with LO!

violet enjoy your scan on friday! I'm sure its nothing to worry about- everyone's bodies change in different ways! Hope you are enjoying getting the new house organised! will be so much easier with your spreadsheets and organised packing

DH glad to hear LO is back in action- must have just had a sleepy day! Sorry hun- will not be posting my bump! don't think a camera lens could actually fit me into 1 picture! lol! Thats not going to stop me having a nosy at other people's tho... is that terrible?

Wow spireal i am impressed by how organised you are! I can't wait to get there though!

stac yeh i was getting a little overwhelmed by how quickly time is moving at the moment- can still remember everyday dragging to get to 12 week mark and now i'm over 27 weeks! how did that happen? lol!

Glaston so sorry to hear about your DS... it must be so distressing for you. I have worked a little with children with autism and see how stressful it can be for the whole family. Have you spoken to any health professionals about having him assessed yet? or are you just starting to notice the signs yourself? really hope you both get some support soon.

KK sounds like you had a tough morning but at least it happened in the hospital where they could see what was happening and check you over. Hopefully they will be able to help now! Hope the spa went well!

Hope everyone else is well...

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/04/2010 16:48

becky aww tis a shame not to post a pic but I wont be forcing anyone who doesnt want to, lets hope other people do so we can have a nosy!

LO is poking about in my tummy as I type its so lovely I think Ill really miss it when hes born! Is that silly? lol

beckyg123 · 13/04/2010 16:56

i confess to having a nosey at your pic DH! I would be proud of that bump you are slimmer than me but in comparison i think mine is a similar shape and size. The 2 girls at my exercise class around the same stage as us have much higher bumps and not as full in shape, i mean from ribs to pubic bone, does that make sense? glad to see yours is like mine might post one afterall! lol!

No not silly to feel like you will miss movements! i find it really comforting and often just sit and rub belly talking to LO!

memphis83 · 13/04/2010 17:15

dh i will try and get a pic on tomorrow, you have a belly button so it looks a lot differnet from mine! i agree with LO moving, i will miss my tummy moving, but i do find it freaky when he moces totally on to one side so one side is high and other is low! also he was kicking edge of bottom rib yesterday and it hurt so much i was driving and had to pull over so i wont miss that either!
becky i think its scary how quickly time is going, i was really low for 1st half and hated being pregnant but now i love it time is flying
glaston sounds very stressful for you at the moment, i hope things improve. sounds like some real bargains you got at the carboot!
feel really sick today when i move about and my head is really muzzy, where i have my ears pierced they keep getting infected since ive been pregnant (this hasnt happened since i had them done when i was 5) yesterday they started bleeding and swelled up so i look like noddy today i think the headache maybe from this, the earrings are out feel like an idiot but im contemplating doctors as sudocrem and dettol isnt clearing it am i being silly? i normally wouldnt dream of going docs for something like this

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/04/2010 17:21

Yay becky you should post one! My bump is actually quite low although the pic doesnt really show that. I have a very long torso so my bump doesnt come from right under my boobs as alot of people's do IYKWIM.
Aww yeah I do the rubbing bump and talking to LO!

memphis Ive been keeping an eye on my belly button recently and it is starting to come out although it doesnt show through clothes. I reckon it'll be an "outy" by full term! Ouch the kicking the rib sounds painful, LO hasnt reached that far up yet, he still seems to kick very low down.

Looking forward to seeing people's bump photos!

dh I'd say thats an impressive bump hun, mine is higher but I am too shy to post a pic, first pregnancy wasnt kind to me lol

mlic thats crap about lo hun, you must be knackered. Good bargain hunting though

memphis I would ask your doc, maybe you have taken an allergic reaction to your earrings. have you taken the earrings out?

glaston has your son been to see the pead before? My friends son is being tested for aspergers at the moment. He struggles with changes to his routine. Like your son he has a supply teacher at the moment and returned to soiling his pants, being aggressive and not mixing with his classmates. I'm not saying your son has it but like you I would be pushing to see whats happening. You are so good at the bargain hunting

kk it is really common to faint in pregnancy it could be your iron levels. How was your spa day? You feeling any better?

spireal I havent been measured yet but assuming I will measure bigger too lol. Hows the new "toys" nursery stuff?

becky when have you to go back to the docs?

BIL finally came over to finish the wallpapering in the bathroom and he started the kitchen, when will come back on Thursday to finish it yay. I have to do some more clearing out in my room so I can get him over to do in there too. SIL says its defo going to be done before lo comes, it needs to be done well before then lol. Hows everyone else today? xx

stac nanny mcphee was brilliant, i have to confess hormones kicked in at the end and i cried!!! was thankful to the ticket guy he upgraded us for free to the new leather vip seats i will be investing in sitting in those again! about my ears i have taken earrings out, at 1st i had silver in got 1 infection, then went to surgical steel so i tried a resin one like they use for prgnancy belly bars and they were no good so ive given up!!

kkfairybrains · 13/04/2010 22:27

well i'v been reading up on the fainting thing and the only logical explanation is iron levels low.so i'l just wait and see how the bloods come back. spa day was class thanks for asking ladies! sooooo relaxing! got the massage and then went to thermal suite with all different baths and sauna's and that kind of thing.obviously didnt go into the saunas tho! then into the pool for ages and the pool led out to an outdoor pool so we went outside for ages and it was lovely! really enjoyed it and wil def go back!
dh ur bump is lovely! wil try and get a pic of mine up 2moro!have to get dp to do it cos i dunno how!

stac14 · 13/04/2010 22:27

could still be an allergy causing an infection hun. I want to see it more now memphis x

OP posts:
Chulita · 14/04/2010 09:29

I don't think I'll be posting a pic either, DD wasn't kind to me either. My belly has a horrible overhang even though I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight I didn't have time to tone up again. I had a look at the day I went into labour pics from last time and my belly was much tighter [sigh] I'll have to work on abs after this one!!
I'd give a decent sum of money to have DD sleep through the night. I can't bear the thought of still getting up between 2 to 10 times with a toddler as well as feeding the newborn however much it wants. I can't seem to crack these night wakings and it's going to kill me come end of July
Going to grab a shower and take DD off to a toddler group, see if I can't wear her out so I can get a nap.
