Hi girls! How are you all?

It's another lovely sunny day - hurray! Had a very busy day with DD yesterday. We had our first picnic and saw friends. My friend brought me her kari-me wrap baby carrier. It's really great! I got the changing mat (bue with white couds) to put in the changing table and the cot mattress arrived! We pretty much have everything! 28 weeks on tuesday and if they do the elective 2 weeks in advance of the due date (I decided that's what I want as I can feel Frank is gonna be big) then basically 10 weeks to go. How crazy is that?

kapars I had the infection with my DD it clears out straight away.

We are off to see friends in T Wells today. What are everyone plans?

Chulita · 10/04/2010 09:28

Hello! Happy Saturday everyone
My belly button never popped out with DD so I'm not expecting it to with this one. It's a very deep one though!
DD hated her bouncer and we got rid of it but I can see it being useful for this one with a toddler pottering about. Might have to poke around on ebay and see what I can find.
Hope everyone has a lovely sunny lazy day!

Hi girls - had a lovely day at friends. But can not believe that I got another blanket!!! I already have like two and 3 in making by friends and it's the one thing we really don't need! Oh well it's the thought that counts!

How was your day?

memphis83 · 11/04/2010 08:19

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/04/2010 08:56

Morning all, 26 weeks today, last week of 2nd trimester woo!

It's not quite as nice here today weather wise, bit cloudy and breezy and not as warm but we're planning to stay in today anyway. DP's dad+partner are coming over to see us later but thats about it!

Ive been given alot of blankets but not sure if they are suitable, they're that fleecy kind of material, poss going to be too hot when LO is born?

Hope everyone has a nice relaxing Sunday

beckyg123 · 11/04/2010 09:07

morning! i have some colour on my skin from yesterday's sun! woohoo! I had a last minute trip to my friends in carlisle on fri and got back last night. Was shattered but had such a great time.

Planning a day in the garden if the sun stays out. Meeting a friend for cuppa at 1pm and thats all! DH is also off today so will hopefully have a nice evening together.

JoJo we have about 10 blankets that i know of already! I figure there will be different uses for each one! will also let me have some in wash and some in use- a spare in car, one for pram, another for cot etc. They are all home made so each will have its own story too!

kapars really hope the infection clears up soon- i feel your pain! They are really extremely unpleasant.

Hope everyone has a nice sunny sunday

stac14 · 11/04/2010 12:04

Hi all
Got back from Scotland on Friday - not exactly the most successful trip ever! Train issues on the way up, dh got a nasty infection in his throat and ear which left him in bed from Sunday afternoon until Wed, leaving me on my own without transport in the middle of nowhere - literally this farm is 5 miles from a shop. Thank god the weather got a bit better from Monday. Was really good to see friends up there, but going on the tube with dd was quite scary (those massive escalators freak me out a bit when I'm on my own). We are not going again any time soon, and probably won't venture north of Edinburgh when we do. Going to have to bite the bullet and fly next time, can't imagine doing that sort of journey with 2. DD did have a wicked time which is great, but she is very excited about going to nursery tomorrow

Anyone else finding putting shoes on a bit of a trial? DD has now been trained to take off my trainers (god bless her) but really hoping this sunshine stays so I can stay in my sandles.

Am going to bite the bullet and call cats protection tomorrow, had a long hard think about it and the cat isn't happy, I can't change the things that are making her stressed, and things are only going to get worse when the baby arrives. Very sad about it but children do have to come before the cat and she will be happier in a child-free house.

DH is currently off seeing lambs with dd at a local farm - so annoying that I can't go, but there is always next year, I know staying away is being uber cautious, but on this I figure better safe.

People are starting to plan up the summer - now would a day at Reading Festival with a tiny baby and a toddler be a really awful idea - don't know whether to let dh go on his own or insist we all go...

Dh has won a trip to New York! A bit worried about the flight, but can't miss the chance, lets hope it can be organised fairly quickly

Jojobil · 11/04/2010 18:30

stac don't you have a babyshower? I am sure someone will get you a blanket We had a lovely day at a friends daughters birthday party. And then I went shopping and for dinner on the way back. It's such a lovely day. I look and feel like a whale though! My belly is HUGE and I can see some silvery stretch marks unfortunately. Oh well it's all worth it!

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/04/2010 18:46

wonderstuff jealous of your DH winning a trip to New York, Id love to go there! How did he win it?

If anyone is brave enough to post their bump pics on their profile Id love to see them, I like looking at other people's bumps and it'll be interesting as we are all due in same month so we can see how they differ in size and shape!

beckyg123 · 11/04/2010 19:41

Evening! Well after a lovely relaxing day i came into have bath and relax in house to discover i have been bleeding again really don't know what to do- it wasn't anything serious last time so do i just sit at home to see if it goes away itself or do i call maternity? it is really light but definately not my imagination or coming from anywhere else!
think i'll put a post on pregnancy thread to see if anyone else has had this...
feeling so out of my depth!

Wonderstuff · 11/04/2010 20:28

DH he is in Sales and the top performer for the first quarter of the year won the trip - he worked so hard I'm sure that is why he was ill on holiday.

becky123 What a worry for you - I would call, probably will be nothing - some women have bleeds all though pregnancy, but the midwifes will be able to give informed advice and put your mind at rest.

DH is trying to put dd to bed, we were having a lovely conversation about new baby and which toys she was going to share with it and how she was going to help bathe and dry it, they she asked 'who is babies daddy?' I explained that her mummy and daddy were the babies mummy and daddy - she was v. unimpressed, is not going to share her parents and going to find a new mummy and daddy for the baby... Oh dear, she's making daddy very, very, sad - maybe I should go up.

stac14 · 11/04/2010 20:59

Hi all

wonder thats rotten you didnt have a good time, in all fairness I probably wouldnt be further than Edinburgh, but more so as I am a city person. Sounds like a tricky conversation with DD, she'll get used to it when baby is here. My DS is 11 and did say to me he is losing me so needed a lot of reassurance. Very lucky about the New York

becky you may be better to phone the mw just to be on the safe side, dont think you need to worry as it can happen all the way through for others

jojo I am having a baby shower but kind of know what I'm getting as friends all said ages ago lol I'll pick some up xx

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 11/04/2010 21:02

oh becky thats a worry and a half.it'l probably be nothing but definately go to maternity ward as they dont mind you going in as its better be safe than sorry. as you say it was nothing serious but at least they will have it on record and any other strange symptoms in future they may connect the two.that might not make sense the way its written but i think you'll know what i mean! let us know of anything new anyway and thinkin of u xx
wonder very jealous of you new york trip! was there 2 years ago and absolutely loved it!
absolutely class weather here today! was sitting in my aunts back garden for a while and got burnt! still exhausted and hoping im not gonna be like this for the next 11 and a half weeks!

beckyg123 · 11/04/2010 21:18

thanks girls, i called the maternity care unit and the midwife was very reassuring- she asked a million questions and thinks i may have a urine infection along with the minor problems from last time (it doesn't feel the same as urine infections i've had before but i am uncomfortable after peeing!). She is not concerned about it however more than willing to see me tonight if i want to go in. Going to be sensible and see GP in morning.
Sorry for self centred post- will catch up with things tomorrow- going to cuddle up with DH on couch for a while

Wonderstuff · 12/04/2010 08:33

Moan alert
DD is in nursery today and I am off, I get very few days like this, I got up with her last night and yesterday morning, I am going to be up with her first thing tomorrow, dh gets weekly evenings out, I go out once in a blue moon - it is only fair that he get her dressed and ready for nursery this morning! But he was so poorly, not too poorly to not go into work, poorly enough to get up late and winge and moan and feel very sorry for himself - I had to get up to sort out her coat and hair - very difficult jobs - seems it is also very difficult to remember to put toilet roll back in the bathroom after you have taken it downstairs to the kitchen (wtf?) and very difficult to notice that the bin in the kitchen is quite full and realise your dear pregnant wife is in no state to yank it out and drag it out to the wheelie. I haven't checked the cat litter yet but if he hasn't done that either I'll be even more pissed off than I am at the moment. He had a really good day with dd yesterday - going to see lambing and seeing his parents, while I sorted out the house, which is a tip again because I am clearly the only person capable of washing up or tidying away. I wouldn't mind so much if I genuinly had a day off, but I have a ton of school work to do, plus all the washing from holiday. Grr sorry - had to have a rant. Housework was never exclusivly my job before we had dd...

Well MLIC I am complaining, we had an equal relationship before our daughter arrived I don't understand why now we don't. I earn good money too (between 30 and 40% of our income depending on his commission, will be 50-60% when I go back full time not that it should matter who earns most, never did before we had kids), and being at work is a darn sight easier than being at home with my daughter imo. While he is at work and I'm not, obviously house and child is my domain and I try to get house as nice as possible for when he gets home, but outside office hours I see no reason why I should do everything and I'm bloody angry. I am happy to do all the night wakings (every bloody night for the last week) but he needs to get up in the morning if I'm knackered, I know he isn't 100% well yet, but I've been feeling under the weather for months.

He does do more than he used to, we had a very difficult first year when dd was born, he has finally understood that he needs to pull his weight at home, but things like not picking up after himself or doing stuff without being asked really bug me.

Anyway, best get off MN and get on with next terms scheme of work, not going to write itself is it?

Jojobil · 12/04/2010 09:55

Hope all is ok Becky Wonderstuff I need to spell out every single time and remind my DH about cat litter, rubbish, recycling etc... Otherwise not much help comes my way too. But he is doing it if I tell him too.
