Desperate I just looked at stac post too! Bloody hell what a bunch of mean beasts there!!! You would have thought there life depended on it! Slating this name....

My DD's friend from class older sister is called Riley, or Rilleigh not sure how it's spelt. Honestly it's a fine name!

Jojobil · 06/04/2010 20:48

oops spelled (anyone else has a case of pregnancy brain????)

stac14 · 06/04/2010 21:04

I was quite shocked at the response to be honest. I think to be honest the ladies that post on these things are just looking for someone to slate. On it I was accused of having a low IQ, that I am a chav and again that I was thick. One lady posted a link which said I should call her Rilliegh DIVE or Rilligh KRUSH and it was links to ralliegh bikes. DP is raging to be honest and as its mumsnet I cant delete it now. Thanks for you ladies and your support.

memphis I havent had the pleasure of orgasism in my sleep with the dreamgenii, maybe I am using it wrong lol

Excuse my French stac but screw them.

My DD is called Lula. Just Lula and I had lots of people loving it and lots of people finding it odd. Anyway I would not change it for a second! It suits her completely! And now with Frank too I've had good and bad reactions. Honestly just go for what you and your husband feel comfortable with.

viksam · 06/04/2010 21:39

Stac I havent read ur thread and not sure i should as i may write something horrible back to the nasty pieces of work that slated ur name choice. How dare they, thats so so rude. I feel bad for u, we are having such a nice time on our little thread and I feel like someone has insulted one of my friends!. I actually really like ur name, i wont nik it, dont worry, i have a girls name in mind myself thats a bit unusual. Remember when i said i didnt get on too well on the trying to concieve thread, mylife is right they do seem to come out on the attack.
Has anyone got a wierd feeling in between ur ribs just under ur boobs, after eating, like a pressure. I know it sounds looney and i realize all our organs are high up but this seems very odd and is extremely uncomfortable.
Day off tomorrow so going to Matalan to get sleep suites and look at the bedding then going to wash everything i have brought in my new nonbio liquid. Just hope i sleep tonight!!Ovaltine here i come!

kapars · 06/04/2010 21:41

stac I agree with everyone on here. Really it is noone else's business/decision what names you choose for your children.
I think a good rule is never to tell anyone not even grandparents until the baby is born and named and then noone will dare say anything nasty.
My friend chose unusual names for her two daugthers and told family and friends before they were born and everyone hated one of the names, especially her mum. But she stuck with them and the little girls so suit their names that now everyone loves them.
I think babies grow into their names.
Certainly you should not base your decision on a few nasty people on here that you have never met nor are ever likely to.
For what its worth I think Rilleigh is a very pretty name - but then my opinion doesn't matter.
However, you said your dp liked the name but you weren't sure. I think you both have to be sure it is THE ONE!

kapars · 06/04/2010 21:43

viksam is it heartburn? I've been getting that a lot after i've eaten. pain in the stomach and an acid reflex?? But mainly when I eat cake!

stac14 · 06/04/2010 22:00

thanks again ladies, have decided to have a couple of back ups, so we'l see what we choose in july, but yeah defo screw them all. Just annoyed they took it so personally, its not thier name. I'm not going back to the thread to see anymore abuse. I had a look at another thread for evia and that girl was told that it sounded like a bottle of water.

viksam is it the feeling of being totally bagged up and your food seems to take ages to go down? Thanks for your lovely comments.

kapars i do like it, just worried i hinder the poor soul lol

Anyway, hows everyone tonight? Just watched masterchef and its made me starving lol x

OP posts:
viksam · 06/04/2010 22:06

kapars No its not heart burn, its more of an internal thing than that. Its like an uncomfortable pressure, it seems only lying down or straightening out will help. Its really wierd.
Jo I like Lula and my DH really likes Frank, he also likes Edgar, i really dont like Edgar but cant think of anything better for a boy, we are really struggling for boys names, i like Evan but DH doesnt, Ohhh its such a minefield, think we are in trouble if its a boy!

kapars · 06/04/2010 22:06

stac How about Rilleigh for the second name if you are not 100%??
I've chosen two names that I love - the first is unusual and the second is very pretty and more common. But I love them both as does DH.
But I thought if for some reason my baby doesn't like the name then there is a very sensible second name.
However, I think baba will love the name too!

stac14 · 06/04/2010 22:19

thats a good idea kapars then if she hated rilliegh she could use the other name, thanks hun x

viksam we had liked aiden, dean, callum and daimon for a boy, i was convinced we were having a boy lol. Girls names we had also liked are grace (but its mil's name and she hates it) freya, lucy and sophie but had wanted something a bit different. X

Can I join the Dreamgenii owners club? I love mine, it's very cozy and it does help stop me rolling onto my back - though I seem to still manage somehow when I'm deep asleep!

Anyone that's thinking of picking a Dreamgenii up, check out TKMaxx. That's where I got mine and I've seen them in multiple of their stores. I think the cost was about £35, which seemed like a pretty good price.

My cushion has a cover with pictures of cherries on. I've managed to avoid munching on it during the night... So far...

beckyg123 · 06/04/2010 22:57

hey girls, thanks so much for ideas for rainy days! well SIL is being kept in tonight so i have volunteered to keep the girls! invited my other niece for girly sleepover- we had buffet dinner and did face masks. bath, PJs, hair, nails, nibbles, dvd and sleeping bags on livingroom floor! ah... they all look so cute now snoring away! Earlier we went to tesco got lunch then wrapped up, faced the rain and took dog to park for run and play!
I am shattered so better get some sleep as have a feeling it will be an early start tomorrow morning! lol! I am handing over to MIL early!

I also love my dreamgenii but not had and fun like that with mine- just a comfy night sleep!!!

stac what a pack of fishwives! some people are so cruel. was so close to writing something really nasty but the less said the better in this case i think. i think its lovely anyway and i really mean that. so what if its not to evryones taste.i've gotten some ignorant comments and sniggers about sonny but at the end of the day who cares i know it'l be lovely on a boy and their personality will grow to suit their name.
really need to get one of them dream genii pillows me thinks! back does be in awful pain at night when i lay down.
was it vik or violet that was saying about the pressure in the ribs.i get this too its a really weird uncomfortable feeling and very hard to describe but dunno what it is!just one of those things i suppose!
memphis dexter freddie is lovely!

stac14 · 07/04/2010 00:40

Can't sleep so catching up on the thread...

One of the reasons I can't sleep is that we are moving house on Friday. And we are third in a chain. So, all I keep thinking about is everything that might go wrong before we exchange keys. Also, our flat is an absolute riot at the moment and we dismantled the bed last night so that we're now sleeping on the mattress on the floor...I just wonder if we'll ever get this flat packed up in time?? And stupidly I watched OBEM on More 4 before bed last night which has got me all worried about stuff that there's no point worrying about. Oh well, after I finish my hot cross bun I'm going to go back to bed - see if I can fit in an hour of sleep before tomorrow begins!

Stac14 - you should call your baby whatever you want to call her. Yours is the only opinion that truly matters. For what it's worth I like how Rilliegh sounds We have a definite name for a girl and some back up ones too - just in case the name we have chosen doesn't suit. We're still struggling with boys names but we have selected a few potentials - haven't decided on 'the one' yet. Family and friends keep asking us to tell them what names we like but I absolutely refuse because we really don't want their opinions confusing us. They'll all just have to wait until baby is born; then they can't say anything!! .

I might have to invest in a DreamGenii pillow - although not for the orgasm in sleep reason . I have a long pregnancy pillow from Mothercare but not sure it's cutting it anymore with my backache etc...I'm going to have a look online just now...

Welcome to the madness, Vick and Mooky!

While it is comfy, I must confess that my Dreamgenii pillow has yet to bestow any particular excitement during sleeping... Should I be claiming my money back?

Mind you, aside from one occasion months ago I've been woefully lacking in the raunchy dreams department. I've mostly been dreaming vividly about mundane things, like tidying my house or sitting at work! Booooring...

Chulita · 07/04/2010 09:27

Morning all!

They sell Dreamgenii's a bit cheaper on Ebay, brand new, I got mine for £35, made an offer on one of the shops selling it. No cherry cover though so made my own (very badly!)

We're not telling anyone our names simply because people can be such dogs about it. Babies always grow into their names. I know a Silas and an Angel and while before I met them I'd have been about the names, they suit the children perfectly!

Chulita · 07/04/2010 09:36

And call me odd but to me and DH 'Riley' sounds like a girl's name.

memphis83 · 07/04/2010 09:57

i agree chulita i think its a girls name over a boys 2

stac i read that thread what bitches! a few threads ive seen all seem like that just wanting to be horrible i think they do it to calm their inner bitch in the real word as they know if they ran their mouths like that they would get a smack round the chops!!

my dh wanted to call our boy onslow! and he was serious i just think of that fat bloke in keeping up appearances! weve now taken to telling everyone were calling him george rather than tell people the real name we chose, i love the name george but dh doesnt!
going into town now to treat my sister for her birthday she likes something called club penguin? i think i need to brush up on kids toys and tv i have no clue, she 10 and looks at me like im sooooo not with it!!

Jojobil · 07/04/2010 10:07

A friend of a friend recently called her daughter Bambi...
Honestly everything goes nowadays!
I have to say I do kind off like the fact that people can call their children sweeter names. All those celebrities go a little overboard with Swallows, Apples, Pixies, Tiger Lillys, o yeah Princess Tiaammi's or God knows what else! Surely we should not feel bad about our choices! ;)

Jojobil · 07/04/2010 10:11

Memphis I was looking after a 10 year old recently and club penguin is what she played It's just little penguins on the computer, you get to choose your one, his/hers colour and name... And you get to earn coins to get them more stuff etc..
