stac have fun at the scan! So jealous you get to see LO again hehe.

DP has gone to his sisters to get the cot so will be sorting that out when he gets back, so exciting!
The spare room is going to be babyfied very soon, just need to start getting it all into some sort of order.

OH dear MLIC whats happening? Please don't climb on the roof! You having a low day or something more?
I really thought i would enjoy every minute of being pregnant (waited a long time for it) and am shocked at myself by how much i moan and groan about it- its not the fun journey i though it would be. Although i do find it amazing to think of what our bodies are building as we speak!

DH21 howz the cot looking? I can't wait to turn our spare room into baby's room! so excited but don't know where we are going to put all the stuff thats in there?

stac how did the scan go? did you see a difference between this one and last?

Happy Easter everyone!!!

I know how you feel MLIC I have a 5 year old I have to take to classes forward and back with constant demands It's definitely harder when you have someone extra to dress, feed and take care of!

I've missed a couple of yoga classes as my DH had to work late and am feeling horrid for it! My back and pelvis are killing me and sleeping became difficult. It's amazing what a difference it makes!

stac let us know about the scan!

memphis I think it is a generation thing... My FIL and wife are from a different planet and would not as much as touch my DD until she was at least 2. Now when we come they get extremely angry if she moves from a table or makes a sound... It's very stiff. It's all about manners and behaviour. But now that she is 5 they can be a little more fun too... Let's put it this way at least they have grandparents!!!

DH did you get the cot? I'm picking our one tomorrow and will order the mattress online from John Lewis.

Good morning everyone!

memphis83 · 04/04/2010 09:52

good morning everyone!!
mlic i know the feeling, i always thought i would love being pregnant and i have wanted it for so long but i have only just started enjoying it now im on the home stretch!
im fuming today, my FIL has just come round and asked if the name is still being kept quiet, as i said yes my dh said not to you and told him!!! ive not even told my mum! i really wanted it to be something we kept for just us 2 until he arrives and he just doesnt get it! so i am one angry bunny

Jojobil · 04/04/2010 11:59

If it was so important for your DH to tell his dad, he should have discussed it with you... Not good!

stac14 · 04/04/2010 12:31

Morning all, scan was totally fantastic, she was waving, picking her nose and sucking my placenta, and she is defo a girl had a full view of her bits. She even looked different from the one at 22wks, ears and everything. Have photos and will put them on later. Sorry for going on.

kk how was your night?

dh bet the rooms gorgeous when its done. Hows the cot?

mlic i don't like being preggers much either and agree its worth it in the end. I was terrified when i found out even though we had been trying for 2 years. Also worry bout pnd cos that was v.hard. Hope your feeling better today and rant away thats what we're here for.

Hey to everyone else how are you all and happy easter

stac scan sounds lovely!!
jojo i know he should have discussed it with me, his dad asked and as i said were keeping it quiet he just blurted the name out i had only just woke up at 8 when he came around aswell! still so angry he said i am going on like a stuck record and has buggered off out on his bike which im glad about!
after banging the bump on friday LO kicked a lot then went quiet for last 2 days so i rang community midwife and have spent last 2 hours in delivery suite being monitored, he is fine she said you wont get a stronger heartbeat than his so thats a relief! but as i left we were waiting to be let out and i heard a blood curdling scream, it shocked me so much i had to sit down!!! hopefully another 12 weeks b4 i hear that again!

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/04/2010 18:20

Hi all, the cot isnt up yet we didnt have time before having to go out last night.

Might put it together 2mo or next weekend. DP's dad gave us a lovely new moses basket and stand today and also got 2 bags of blankets and toys from a friend which is really nice.

stac glad the scan went well

Happy easter everyone, hope you all have some yummy choc to eat

stac14 · 04/04/2010 19:34

memphis you and dh sorted now after earlier? Glad baby is fine, its hard not to worry isnt it? Hope your ok huni

Aw dh have you got it in lo's room? I got some lovely girly stuff yesterday and our friends mum is knitting cardi's and hats so cute.

Has everyone had a good day? I'm so tired again, anyone else fluctuating between tired and lots of energy? XX

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 04/04/2010 20:38

memphis I was starting to get worried about LO's movements as he went very quiet yesterday but when I sat down this evening not only was he rolling about loads he had his first hiccups! (well first that i've felt)

stac yeah it is in his room now but still in the box as when hes born the moses basket will be in our room. In fact his room is a mess of bags of stuff, we have a built in wardrobe but its not really wardrobe stuff IYSWIM as its blankets and toys and nappies etc, I want drawers for that kind of thing really or one of those wooden storage boxes.

memphis83 · 04/04/2010 21:40

dh its funny how we get used to the movements i think i will really miss my belly moving eventhough i will have him in my arms come july! funny thing is only felt 3 kicks since friday, i felt more than that in the hospital and he hasnt stopped all day!!!
stac yes things are sorted just frustrating as keeping his name quiet has been my plan since we started planning a baby!
was just thinking i wonder what next easter will be like, everything will be so different! hope you all have agood easter monday, we are going to local bank holiday market to get some bargains, and its my little sisters birthday so we will be going for cake in the afternoon!!

kkfairybrains · 04/04/2010 23:46

hi all! stac yeah had a great night last night. me and 2 friends went to italian and then for few drinks after. i haven't laughed as much in soooooo long as i did in the italian! one of the girls was pulling up the other ones dress and next thing the whole side of it busted! we were in absolute convulsions laughin and people didnt know what to make of us! got it fixed eventually anyway! then i had to come home at 1 o clock cos it was time for the nightclub and i was so pissed off i had to come home! then today we went to watch the easter parade and was out all day and just home now! had such a laugh again and would have loved to have stayed out but everyone was messy drunk after being out all day. cannot wait to have a good night out once baba is here! first weekend i'v missed it!
memphis hope you and dp have made up.have to say it wasn't a nice thing to do when you had your heart set on keeping it secret.but its done now so no point working yourself up over it as its not good for you hun. glad LO is ok and your mind is at ease!
today for the first time i seen the baby moving from side to side in my stomach! so weird looking and it felt as though it was doing a mexican wave in my belly!

stac14 · 05/04/2010 00:10

hey ladies

kk sounds like a great day, we have had acouple of weekends like that where i have missed a drink, I havent drank at all since I found out I was pregnant. I'm sure I will make up forit when lo is here lol

I found this site thats like a baby name tester, thought you all might like a look

www.babynamegenie.com/baby-name-test-drive.php it helps test out your name see if you can handle it lol xxx

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 05/04/2010 08:48

stac I tried out the baby name test and I still like the name Dylan so it passed!

I want to ask everyone a question, we were given a moses basket yesterday, it came with a wipe clean mattress and little quilt thing. What kind of sheets do I put on the mattress, do I have to buy special fitting ones or just a small sheet?
Also for the cot once Ive bought the mattress, I know I need to buy cot sheets for it but where do I buy these from??

Thanks!

Jojobil · 05/04/2010 09:06

Desperate John Lewis has all of those - fitted are the best both for moses and cot Get a protector for the mattress too! As nappies leak occasionally!
[http://www.johnlewis.com/230507878/Product.aspx] I think they come in 2 or 3 sizes...

Jojobil · 05/04/2010 09:09

Didn't do to wel with the link there Here is the link for the sheets www.johnlewis.com/Baby+and+Child/Sleeping/Sleeping/Sheets/603/ProductCategory.aspx and again for the protector www.johnlewis.com/230507878/Product.aspx

Jojobil · 05/04/2010 09:15

stac thanks for the link I also still like Frank! Although occasionally get paranoid that there is up to a 5% chance it's a girl! I think they say scans are 95 to 97% accurate. I know I am being silly 27 weeks tomorrow! I did some yoga with my dvd and am feeling much better!

We are going to our friends for lunch today and they are giving us a cot changing table and a couple of bags of clothes! So I am excited! What plans do you have? x

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/04/2010 09:44

jojo thats great thanks for the link

I was 25 weeks yesterday, I saw a family member yesterday who is 34 weeks pregnant and shes so tiny! Shes a really small woman anyway so its relative to her size but I wasnt much smaller than her!

DP and I were going to go for a walk around town/the beach but its quite grey I suppose its still quite early so the weather could change, I hope it does as I feel really conscious nowadays that Im not really exercising enough.

stac14 · 05/04/2010 10:41

Morning ladies, glad the name test made you like your names more

jojo a friend of ours is giving us girls clothes can't wait to go through them. At the scan on saturday it was lo's actual bits we saw rather than the 3 lines we saw last time so defo girl, we were told to go buy pink

dh i went to matalan for the sheets, they do lovely soft ones, a 2 pack for cot was bout £8 and pram/moses basket was cheaper. Defo get a protector. You will need some blankets too cos the quilts arent really like ours. I had got some more from our local market which was cheaper again. Hope that helps

Well its raining here but we are going to have a look at the cosytoes for the pram and taking mil to tesco. Everyones still sleeping x

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 05/04/2010 10:55

stac yeah I was wanting to go to matalan anyway to buy other things so will have a look when I go in there. Ive been given quite a few blankets from a friend so its really just the sheets, the quilt does look more for show than practical use!

stac14 · 05/04/2010 10:58

they are gorgeous though aren't they. I really like the matalan stuff as its reasonable but good quality x

OP posts:
Jojobil · 05/04/2010 11:23

Is matalan good for quality? Cause my daughter used John Lewis sheets for a few years and wash after wash they are still great I guess it does not matter for the moses basket Also I don't think we can use quilts o newborns? I thought just breathable blankets and no pillows.
