Stac and becky -after reading your messages this morning I decided that I was being silly thinking I could go to aquanatal this morning . Instead, I'm going for a very light walk, to try to help strengthen some muscles. I'll wait until my physio consult next week before I start doing any serious exercising again! Thanks for your concern

Spirael - thanks so, so much for posting your mattress research. So helpful

becky - although I don't work as one at the moment I am a qualified librarian so I am in my element when I am organising stuff! Tagging my boxes means I'll be able to perform a search easily on my spreadsheet to locate my favourite purple scarf, for example ;) It's all backed up on Google Documents too, just in case my hard disk crashes during the move!

I'm loving these painkillers - I've been able to get dressed today and everything

stac14 · 31/03/2010 13:26

hi everyone

spireal thanks for the info i had a look at the babiesrus catalogue (which if you join gets you money off vouchers and collects points) they have about 10 different matress, vibration, thermacare, spring, memory and foam so your advice is very much appreciated.

violet i'm glad your waiting, just didnt want you hurting yourself more.

memphis you reminded me i need a docs appointment to get that form, thanks

Hows everyone today? I am quite sleepy again but think i may be preparing for the school hols lol. Anyone any plans for easter? X

its really windy here today, took my dog to the vets this morning and just been to asdafor the weekly shop think internet shopping will be needed soon i was so out of breath after packing my bags felt like i had ran a marathon! wheezing like an old man who smokes 60 a day

my 3d scan photos are finally on here, they arent as clear as they should be more to do with camera that the actual pics s i couldnt work the scanner!!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/03/2010 14:23

memphis the scan pics are lovely! What a little sweety you have in there

I was in the bank earlier and the queue was so long by the time Id got to the front I felt quite light headed and faint and was just willing myself not to pass out, think I may have done if I had to stand any longer though.
They should have chairs that you move up one everytime someone is called, at least just for pregnant people!

Just measured my waist (if you can call it that) and its got 11 inches bigger than pre pregnancy!

stac14 · 31/03/2010 14:34

memphis the pics are fab, i have the check up gender scan on saturday, just confirming its a baby girl

dh i totally agree they should have chairs so we can rest, it's a nightmare x

OP posts:
memphis83 · 31/03/2010 15:23

dh totally agree with the chairs! i measured my waist last night and its also gone up 11 inches! goodbye 28 inch waist hello 39 inch 'waist' if i can still call it that
stac you lucky to be getting another scan, good job we knew we were having a boy, at 3d scan she put probe on belly and it happened to be a between the leg shot there was no denying hes a boy!!!
always thought i would ony ever want one baby but as the pregnancy is getting on im enjoying it more and more and more open to idea of a second at some point but im obviously not going to admit it in real life after so much protesting for years i only wanted 1!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/03/2010 17:03

memphis our babies must be growing at the same rate then! Ive always said I only want 2 but I could consider having 3 if the situation was right.

Im alright if im walking, I could happily walk for ages but its when im just standing around, I feel uncomfy, like I cant breathe properly and then get really light headed, I imagine it'll only get worse as I get bigger as well, may have to avoid banks as they are always the ones with the long queues.

stac14 · 31/03/2010 20:55

dh and memphis you put me in the mood to check my waist and its went up 6-7ins, but i had a belly to begin with lol so she had space x

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 31/03/2010 21:18

spireal thanks for the info on the matresses, i hadn't even began to think about them! must get the moses basket off dp's aunt and measure it.we'r getting new cric and cot as gifts so i'l speak to them people about matresses too

beckyg123 · 31/03/2010 23:28

Evening! well feels like the middle of the night. Really just on to share my story and settle myself so i can sleep! Just back from maternity care unit following bleeding and cramping/tightening tonight. Called midwife about 9pm and she told me to go straight in. She and Dr were fantastic and very reassuring. Baby seems ok from heartbeat and a few kicks, no sign of anything serious from me, so to go for a scan tomorrow to find out more. I know in my heart that baby is fine (still kicking away nicely!) but dreading that i could be wrong at same time! - very confused and upset! DH was great, he was at work but managed to meet me at hospital. He is more positive than me so don't want to bring him down with my constant worries! Obviously he knows i'm worried- getting lots of hugs but don't want to go on about it!
Sorry for the worries but needed to get them out and sort out my head a bit- really am exhausted! figure it will all seem different after some sleep. will let you's know what happens tomorrow...

Hiya, just a quick post to let you all know everything went well today. Scan was fine, placenta in the right place and no reason to be found for bleeding! They kept me in the day ward for a while and Dr did internal, found some cells that were causing the bleeding. Apparently quite normal for some women it just caused concern as was at the same time as braxton hicks! So baby and i both have clean bill of health and nothing to worry about! Am so releaved i can't express it!
Am off work from tomorrow right through next week anyway so just intend on taking things easy for a few days!

On the plus side we got to see baby again and witness the punches that i thought were kicks! must be a boy with an upper cut that srtong! lol! Baby was too big to fit on screen but got some close up views of face! so cute! she even gave us a picture to take away so another one for the collection!

Thanks for your thoughts this morning... will catch up on thread later after some rest and probably a million phonecalls (knowing my family!).

kapars · 01/04/2010 12:32

So glad to hear all is well Becky. That must have been terrifying. I know I was terrified when I had a bleed at 10 weeks this time.
It is very common to have these hospital dashes and for there to be nothing wrong but that doesn't mean you feel any better until you have had a scan.
I know two people who had hospital dashes three times with heavy bleeds and all was ok with baby.
Take it easy now for the next few days. You deserve it. x
ps must have been amazing to see baba again!

stac14 · 01/04/2010 12:51

becky thats great news hun. Bet your scans so clear now, you posting a pic? I had a few scares with ds but i was leaking amniotic fluid X

OP posts:
violetbubbles · 01/04/2010 12:54

Just read your messages Becky - so relieved that everything is okay. It must have been so scary for you at the time. I'm so happy that you got to see your baby punching about in there - and that you have an extra photo now too.

xxx

violetbubbles · 01/04/2010 12:57

I start my antenatal classes tonight - not quite sure what to expect....

I'm just about to send my cheque off for a course in HypnoBirthing too. Been reading this book by Marie Mognan - really, really good and making me feel much more confident about the birth Anyone else contemplating HypnoBirthing?

kapars · 01/04/2010 13:24

I am very interested in hypnobirthing but because I am being rescanned at 35 weeks due to my low-lying placenta and may need a caesarian I didn't want to fork out the money on a course. I might get the CDs instead.
Hoping I won't need c-section.

stac14 · 01/04/2010 14:23

I'm interested in hypnobirthing, someone mentioned getting the cd from ebay, cant remember who said it or what it was called (stupid preggo brain). Also not sure i want to spend loads of cash incase i get cs. Defo believe in hypnotherapy have had it after we were in a car crash on the motorway, helped me to drive on the motorway again.

Anyone know who is best for maternity bras? Need measured but could go to debenhams for that beforehand. X

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 01/04/2010 16:14

kapars im the same as you I have a low lying placenta and may need c-sec. Also really hoping I dont need to have one, being scanned at about 36 weeks to check, which is only 2 months away

stac I got 2 bras for £10 at bhs, they are non underwired so not specifically maternity but they were good value for money.

Ive had a really good day today with my 2 friends who I havent seen in ages, they came over for lunch and we had a big catch up it was really good.

kapars · 01/04/2010 16:51

desperate Yes I was a bit shocked when the sonographer told me as I wasn't expecting that. But then in most cases it does move so maybe we will be fine.
My scan is June 3 - can't believe that is only 2 months away! Yikes.

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/04/2010 16:54

Yeah the sonographer and my mw didnt seem too concerned they both said the majority of them do move up.
My scan hasnt been booked yet it'll be sometime in June as their diary didnt go that far ahead so they will send me a letter nearer the time.
At least we can see our babies again before they're born
