Hi,
We went to exeter in the end and had a mooch round the shops, there are some excellent vintage and independent shops there and all the high street stores have a full range of stuff. Got an ace top from H&M mama range reduced to £7, was dead pleased. The hospital are not discharging DH's brother so, thank god, we didnt have to have anything to do with him. If he discharges himself thats up to him, the nurses seem to think thats quite likley. If that happenes im pretty sure the next thing we will hear will be from the police as he has no money one him, no access to any and no mobile phone. Im working all weekend and DH is going away over night tomorrow so no chance we can help now, which im glad about.
memphis I dont think we realize how much we need to look after ourselves at the moment, its so easy to get run down. I really hope you enjoy ur weekend and regain some strength. 3rd scan on sunday, is that NHS? Is this ur anomaly scan? Dont feel bad about venting, my god i have done my fair share the last few days. Its very cathartic to type all ur worries, thanks ladies for all ur nice comments.
chulita know what you mean about not being hungry but wanting to eat!!
There was an old aunty at the funeral yesterday who had a good look at my bump and declared that it was a girl.....interesting seen as though we recon its a boy, mylife I also cannot wait to find out now!! DH I really hope we keep our thread going, theres no reason why not is there.
Right im going to sit down for a bit, them im going to don my new top and take my poor DH to Ask and have a nice meal, he deserves it.
have a good friday night everyone xxx

viksam · 26/03/2010 18:27

stac Thanks for ur msg, I have felt a bit crampy on occasion, probably mainly to do with constipation(im like a stuck record with that!!) How are u feeling?

Chulita · 26/03/2010 18:34

stac the sofa did get here but it's the wrong one! Very comfy though, they left it while they get the one we actually ordered in. We've just made homemade pizza and I've got to choose a movie to watch - DH wants to christen our 'new' sofa but if it's going back to the shop isn't that a bit wrong?

Why wouldn't we keep the thread going? Did I miss something

WhatSheSaid · 26/03/2010 18:42

Haven't posted in a while...Viksam ,sorry your b-i-l was being such a dick, not what you need.

All fine here, interesting reading about your experiences of NHS midwives and maternity system - i guess it varies across the country. System here is that you see mw every 4 weeks till 30 wks, then every 2 wks, and then I think every week at the end. I see mine every 2 wks just to have extra bp checks as I have high bp. Quite long appointments too - 30-40 mins usually. But then again we don't get some of the stuff you get - no Health in Pregnancy grants here! And no automatic maternity pay - only if you've been working for at least 6 months immediately prior to the birth, which I haven't.

Had extra scan on Thursday when I was 24 wks, to check growth - all is fine. Wasn't meant to be a 3D scan but she could do still 3-D pictures if she combined 3 screeens so she did a few for me and put them on the scan CD. I would post them but they have my name and details on and I haven't worked out how to get rid of them!

viksam · 26/03/2010 18:47

chulita christening the sofa is funny, go for it!!I love make ur own pizza, almost better than dominos! What film u gona choose?
No you didnt miss anything, i just didnt know wether everyone would want to post after lo's arrive thats all.
What ace to have a 3D pic, hope u work out how to get rid of ur info so we can check them out!!

stac14 · 26/03/2010 19:11

viksam thats ok, glad your not having to deal with bil just yet. I'm not constipated but have had a lot of wind so it could be that

chulita go for it with christening the couch, i defo would lol

wss hope you get the info hidden so you can upload the pic. Glad alls well with lo, did you have to pay for the scan?

Don't see any reason why we can't keep the thread going after lo's are here, i'm sure we still need to vent lol.

memphis totally agree with viksam you should vent whenever you like its what we're here for x

Thanks for more feedback on midwives. wss you seem to get a lot more attention in terms of appointments etc... think a lot of places are better than the UK.

I just fell flat on my bum while crouching down in the kitchen. Think my bump unbalanced me.. Am fine but just was a shock. Baby kicking like mine so all fine.

stac14 · 26/03/2010 21:08

mlic Thanks for the lovely sentiment.I tend to have to go back over it about 90 times before I can reply, I feel rude not answering especially if someone has named me, my baby brain is shocking I actually put washing powder in the fridge instead of my milk, luckily I found it before anyone else (hope i'm not being a pain in the ass posting to you all. I'm sure you will find a wee outfit or something to pick up for lo while shopping xxx

WhatSheSaid · 26/03/2010 23:29

OK I've managed to delete my name off the scan photots and upload a couple. As I said, it wasn't a proper 3D scan so it's not that high quality but you can see the face . If you click on my name you should be able to go through to the photos

stac14 · 27/03/2010 01:28

fab pic wss i have mine on to but its not as good as yours, mine was a sample to entice me to pay for a 4d scan lol.

Well ladies either preggo insomnia has kicked in or dp and my little sis are bugging me, they decided to get drunk. I am getting really sick of drunk people. Ds has fell asleep in my bed, made me quite sentimental as he is 11 and over 5ft tall lol but it means dp wont get into bed, no luck then lol. Well better try sleeping again. Nite or morning lol x

Good morning Girls!

Stac and Kapars I finally had my midwife appointment yesterday and expected to be brushed off in 10 minutes. But she was actually lovely! Really listened and was very friendly. I will get a scan at 30 weeks and another one at 36 weeks and we will see then if the baby is big or not... So phew!

had such a busy day yesterday, had to pick up flowers for my friends 30th and make a couscous salad for her party amongst other things. I walked to much and my pelvis was crying for a rest! Then could not find anything to wear. They were all gonna be a size 6-8 very artistic and fashionable lot at the party, so I was feeling HUGE! But it went well Nobody had kids there so we were the only family type people and I was the heavily pregnant girl... and I was done by 9.30am! Somebody was smoking something at the window, which is something I hate anyway and it was time to go!!! Still it was nice to go out, even though I'm boring!

Even though it is an old article. I just cried [bush] because some new clothes arrived from Ebay and my boobs are sooooo huge I look shapeless in some of them! Just 3 months to go!

Jojobil · 27/03/2010 09:26

it was supposed to be blush not bush!

stac14 · 27/03/2010 09:29

memphis You must be so excited about getting your bike, I've always wanted to get a backie on one, too chicken to drive one myself but I love them

Hows everyone else today? Its a lovely sunny day and I am totally shattered due to dp and sis being pissed and up till 5am aarrgghh have had to cancel lunch with my cuz through fear of falling asleep on her, I am going to make dp buy me something nice for his behaviour lol

OP posts:
Jojobil · 27/03/2010 10:06

Yes stac it made me feel much more at ease! At least somebody seems to care! Scans are not 100% accurate, but at least we will look closer to the time and will be able to compare... I hope you get a friendly soul too!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/03/2010 10:12

Good morning everyone, its lovely and sunny here!

Ive changed my mind again about the travel system lol, well im getting the same model its just newer and is from babies r us so if they have it in stock at our nearest store we'll be taking a trip down there to have a look at it.

stac14 · 27/03/2010 10:13

Its more the cons I am worried about she seemed quite happy to let me have a natural birth even though I have 3rd degree tearing so think I am going to have to lay it out straight, like you labour was a traumatic experience xx

OP posts:
Jojobil · 27/03/2010 10:19

Stac just be firm! It is your body and your baby! I can understand that you feel worried about it and they should put you at ease! Not make it a more daunting experience. Make it clear that you need support and it was serious. xx
