Afternoon all. Just adding in my age and amending my due date (Hi bunnygirl80!) Not much else to report apart from being massively impatient! Every day is like a week at the moment!!

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 21/03/2010 16:11

I did my last Clearblue digital yesterday and watched it change to 3+ weeks so quite happy with that, feels a bit more like it might be real for now.

I have booked in for an early scan too in three weeks but might even bring that forward a bit yet, it seemed worth it to me for a bit of reassurance.

I'm finding it hard to think beyond the next week, anyone else? I can't bring myself to think about anything even further in the future yet like actually having a real baby. I just find ticking each day off a real relief.

tiany · 21/03/2010 16:31

have a my joint b'day party coming up though so thats going to me more difficult!!

ups: can eat whatever i want or at least am choosing to!
downs: sooooooo tired

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 21/03/2010 17:28

I have a cold at the moment so am saying the cold medication I am on (I wish) does not mix well with alcohol.

After swearing to myself I wouldn't podge up like last time I have spent the day eating everything that isn't nailed down and went wild in M&S food hall.

My DH actually uses MN himself and knows my username *waves to DH.

Hello to yet move newbies Was everyone snowed in during Feb?

Gaga82 · 21/03/2010 19:50

Survived the trauma of having to go to a wedding, after excusing myself for an 'urgent phone call' during the serving of the very pink roast beef, not drinking all night due to my hideous bout of food poisoning and sitting with my head out of the window like a dog to avoid MS on the 3hour journey home this morning), pretty sure my friends think I am a loon!

Now I am not leaving the house after 8pm for the next 3 weeks at least!! Hideous.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and is raring to go for Monday morning...

hmmSleep · 21/03/2010 20:05

DH knows my username too, don't think he checks up on me, but he does think I'm on here too much!

Glad you survived (just!) the wedding Gaga.

Poor dh has just spent past 10 minutes listing dinner possibilities with me turning a more sickly green colour with each suggestion, then mn came to the rescue, was on a thread about egg slicers and realised what I really wanted was a boiled egg and soldiers. Must admit though I was very naughty and didn't hard boil.

Kyuri · 22/03/2010 08:38

Morning all

Thread's been busy over the weekend! Welcome to the newbies.

Great idea to post ups and downs, mine are:

Downs:

  1. MS being replaced by uncontrollable and irrational rage for most of the day on Saturday. Am sure DH suspected body snatching/possession with evil spirits. Quote of the day "you're just so annoying!" as I stormed out of the room. Feel terribly guilty now though...
  1. Eating an IKEA hotdog in attempt to quell returning MS yesterday - I mean, really! Now can't get pig eyelids/ears etc out of my head

Ups:

  1. Seeing heartbeat on scan last Wednesday, gives me glow-y feeling each time I remember it.
  1. Having you ladies to share this stuff with!
Threelittleducks · 22/03/2010 08:47

Morning!

Woke up this morning with an incredibly sore back. Too long in bed methinks - but no choice as am so knackered. It was only 9 0 clock when I asked my hubby if it was time to go to bed yet - could have sworn it was at least 11!

Living with my in-laws just now at the moment, which is absolute hell normally, but with raging hormones added in it is multiplied. It's an all-male house (fil, bil, hubby, ds and male dog)too. Only my hubby knows about bfp!
It's tough, especially as they are inconsiderate most of the time. FIL is very much old-style guy who likes his women to cook, clean and stay out of the way when the footie is on. I think we are going to have to move out!

At least we have the ultimate excuse now! Hurrah!

Mylittlebubble · 22/03/2010 08:58

Morning
I went out for my friends joint birthday party at the weekend and offered to drive to save on taxi fares. I thought I had got away it with but all my friends kept making general pregnancy or baby comments like what did you crave? Etc Etc. Not sure if I was being paraniod! Went to the loo to come back to a silent table and everyone staring at my belly!!! Nothing was said so not sure if they have figured it out or I am just on edge about keeping it quiet!!

Ups: The glowing feeling knowing we are having another baby and no MS yet!

Downs: No telling anyone its killing me! Got a bad back today and the vivid dreams have started!

I am on a course for the next 3 days so hoping the MS stays away.

Threelittleducks · 22/03/2010 09:37

ups Telling my best mate when I went to visit her the other day and her being more excited than me

Me and hubby being only ones who know apart from best friend.

downs Raging hormones, living with in-laws and having to put up with their crap while pretending everything is normal, ms, trying to write a masters essay with ms.

hmmSleep · 22/03/2010 09:39

Morning all.

TLD, must be really hard living with a house full of people that don't know, hope your dh is compensating for the fact his fil expects you to do everything, living with the in-laws, you're a braver woman than I am!

I'm about to phone to try and organise a nuchal scan now, think we've decided to have one. Don't get them on nhs here so not really sure how to go about organising, but have a number to phone so guess I'll wing it from there. Sometimes forget I'm a 35 yr old woman and not a teenager and still expect someone to come and sort all these things for me!

balijay · 22/03/2010 09:48

Morning.

Today on the down side : my toothpaste tastes like perfume. Urgh.

On the up side this must mean there is something going on inside this body of mine.

hmmSleep · 22/03/2010 10:15

Well, have booked my NT plus test for 22nd April, so 4 weeks of nail biting til then. It's going to cost £195, which seems loads considering these tests are given on the nhs in certain areas of the country.

Feels weird that it didn't enter my head to have any screening in my previous pregnancies, think the whole being over 35 thing has made me ultra paranoid!

addictedtothefirsttrimester · 22/03/2010 10:24

morning all

Downs - killer migranes felt like my head was going to explode and couldnt take any paracetamol because i kept throwing it back up again

Ups - feeling so crap right now i actually cant think of any well apart from a potential baby at the end.

Kyuri · 22/03/2010 10:47

OK, I know I should be working rather than surfing the Daily Mail website for the latest on Cheryl Cole's marriage etc, but came across something interesting and have just spent an hour and a half reading this blog from start to finish:

blakebabyblog.dailymail.co.uk/

Pretty interesting if you're a first timer like me in terms of what lies ahead (hopefully). Also interesting because baby was born at end of October so ties in quite well with our dates and how new baby might fit into winter/Christmas etc.

Getting excited thinking about life with new baby, but also trying to remember am still only 8 weeks and need to dial it back a little at this early stage!

stuffedmk · 22/03/2010 11:22

I have made an appt at the drs for this afternoon so at least i will be on the system.
Doubt I will see MW for a few weeks as I am only just 5 weeks today (it's going so slow!!)

IssyStark · 22/03/2010 11:27

Kuryi My ds was also due 21 Nov and he arrived on 7th Dec 2006. We had our Christmas on Boxing Day that year! We realised at 4pm on Christmas Day, we were still in our pjs and there was no bird in the oven, that it just wasn't going to happen that day. So we tucked into the smoked salmon, pates and cheeses we'd got instead! DS was none the wiser

A November baby does mean cute images for the Christmas card 'though
only 2 weeks old and just after his first birthday

This time around I'm going to have to be far more organised as ds will be four and he knows about Christmas now and I don't think we'll be able to fob him off with a impromtu picnic in the living room instead of a full roast dinner!

Kyuri · 22/03/2010 11:33

Gorgeous pictures Issy!

Ebb · 22/03/2010 14:26

Hmmsleep My midwife put loads of pressure on me to have a nt scan last pregnancy. I'm booked to see the same midwife this time round so no doubt she'll do the same again. Tbh, I can't afford a private nt scan as I'm not working at the moment. I only have the odd bits of temp work coming in which doesn't amount to much. It's hard making those decisions though, isn't it?

I had a busy weekend. Did a few hours work for my old family. ( I'm a nanny ) IT was my ex charges birthday so he had 10 friends round aged between 6 and 8. I was asked to 'loosely' supervise them as they ran riot around outside. By the time I'd banned the river, the horses fields and the stables and told them to stop killing each other I was exhausted! One child decided to climb through a gate and a second child decided it would be sensible to grab him. Cue first child whacking his head on the gate and cutting the back of it. Cue horrified children: 'Is that blood?', 'Is he going to die?', 'Will his brains fall out?', 'Why's there so much blood?'. Oh joy! 'Yes, it's blood. No he won't die. No his brains won't fall out. Head injuries always bleed a lot. Don't worry. Let's go clean him up.' I was glad to get home!

I'm not feeling much ms although I'm still tired and boobs are still sore. Some days I just don't feel pregnant.

To all of you ladies who had early scans, did you get them at your local epu or did you pay for them privately? I've had no spotting this time round so I can't really go to a doctor with any valid reason for an early reassurance scan and I certainly wouldn't lie to get one. Oh well. I see the midwife for my booking in appointment next week. I feel really lucky that my doctors allow you to make an appointment for a booking in date as soon as you've seen the doctor. I think it would do my head in if I couldn't see a midwife til 12wks or something.

Anyway hope everyone is well and not feeling too rough. X

TLD deepest sympathy about living with the in-laws. At least they should get considerate when you tell them. They're all men so you can just tell them whatever you like about pregnancy. Like it's bad for you to cook and clean (the chemicals wil hurt the baby). See if they step up!

Issy cute pictures and you are soooo right about Christmas cards. Also, I live far from family so it will be incentive for them to visit for Christmas. Sneaky, huh?
