Niether have I? What is it?

I remember with DD1 I didn't feel pregnant or different and was convinced my period would arrive and it was all a dream!! I even took another 3 pregnancy tests to check. So I have promised myself not to do this again and just be glad of no morning sickness just yet anyway!!

addictedtothefirsttrimester · 16/03/2010 16:32

sorry, a septate uterus is a uterus that has an extra wall inside, but this wall dosent get the blood and nuterants that the baby needs so if baby implants itself against this wall a miscarrage will occur. however my baby hasnt implanted itself against this wall, so this baby has a really good fighting chance! it means that baby may be smaller as there isnt as much room to grow, might be breach as there may not be enough room to turn and could possible be a cs birth as the wall often cuts off the opening the baby needs to get out - but its too early to tell atm.

however my baby has a really strong heat beat, which is good and the sack suggests i'm 7 weeks pregnant, which is what my dates show, but baby is only measuring at 3mm so baby is showing only 4-5 weeks pregnant, which doesnt match up with sack and heart beat. they're not too worried right now and are going to re-scan in 5 weeks time, when i should be 12 weeks. does that all make sence?

i was just wondering if anyone else had expearience of a septate uterus to see if its normal to be smalledr at this stage.

wow thats a long post sorry,

addictedtothefirsttrimester · 16/03/2010 16:34

mylittlebubble, you really should be greatfull for no ms, it will come in no time!

jellybeancounter · 16/03/2010 16:42

thanks hmmsleep, good point about the tiredness, will keep thinking. and think I'm going to have to come clean about being PG to my mum so I can discuss all that with her!

addicted sounds like you've got lots to take in, sorry I can't help, but good luck with it

Babybean1 · 16/03/2010 16:45

Hi to all new BFP! Been loooaaads since i last posted! Have been reading through and think im up to speed though - just!!

hmmsleep did you fly when you were 8 months pregnant then?? I have a surprise trip booked to Rome for the end of August for DH's 40th, but had a call from MW the other day saying she thinks i'll be too far gone to fly. Think i should be 30 weeks on the day we are due to fly home if my EDD is right.

Have got to go to the clinic tommorrow for an appointment. Not really sure what for as doc just told me to attend the drop ins they have every wednesday morning! Already have a booking in app for 6th April, but was advised to still attend! Like it though as be nice to talk to people about how i have been feeling and just make it seem a bit more real!

Have been really rubbish about keeping it a secret and have told quite a few people Figured the people that know would find out if anything went wrong anyway, and i would probably want their support. That was my way of justifying the excitement of telling people anyway

Been having weird cramps every couple of nights....has anyone else had this?? Doesnt last for long at all and have had no bleeding im glad to say. Just wakes me up and hurts!! Keep googling it (know i really should stop that!)and says its normal, but think im just extra cautious about aches and pains at the mo!

Good luck to all with scans and pleased the scans people have had went well

addictedtothefirsttrimester · 16/03/2010 16:46

jelly i've known about the septate uterus and its side effects for a long time, i'm fine with it i just wasnt expecting the baby to be smaller at this stage, but the scanning people werent worried, so i'm not really

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 16/03/2010 16:47

If anyone wants my ms feel free to have it.

addicted - sorry not heard about seperate uterus but it sounds like everything is a-ok at the moment which is great news.

jelly - I was 4 months pregnant when I got married and went on honeymoon, I like to say the pregnancy was planned but the wedding wasn't (6 weeks notice, only 12 guests). I think the main problem is you don't know how you will feel 7 months pregnant, some people are full of energy whilst others are in bed by 7pm!

hmmSleep · 16/03/2010 17:03

Babybean Was only 7 months when I flew for honeymoon, we left it til the latest possible I would be allowed to fly without a doctor's note. Worth checking with the airline though as some let you fly later with a gp note, do you want to though! Would you be able to move the holiday forward a few weeks, I know it means it won't coincide with your dh's 40th, but seems a shame not to go at all, might be your last chance for a while!

daisystone · 16/03/2010 17:06

Yep - I can officially join the club. Have just worked out that I am due on 19th Nov. Woo hoo! Have been trying to conceive for four months and was getting frustrated but now I can't believe how quick it was! I was half expecting to still be trying in a year.... I am 34 and nervous as hell but so excited.

Excited for you lot too!

TwoDotZero · 16/03/2010 17:26

How sneaky have you been?

I went for dinner with nct friends and told them I'd just got my period, felt crappy and tired so I wasn't drinking as it would make things worse.
They think I'll be pg next so always suspicious. I'd never get away with an antibiotics alibi without full ailment details.

I'm organising an event tomorrow that involves putting out tables and 100 chairs. I won't be too interrogated so I'm thinking of going with 'lady problems downstairs' to explain why i can't lift too much.

Any other less icky suggestions?

Cheers x

Big wave back to you SomethingSuitablyWitty and ebb

Babybean1 · 16/03/2010 17:32

Thought the same thing hmmsleep that even if I could go with doc's note, would I actually want to be walking aroung heavily pregnant in that heat! It's typical because we've been trying for so long, and soooo many times have said "well better do such and such as could be pregnant" and the time I didn't even think about it, i found out 2 weeks later I was! They say it happens tho when you stop stressing on it so maybe that's why!
Think I'll wait until dating scan just to check all is ok as don't want to change yet and something goes wrong! Really wish I could stop feeling so anxious and start enjoying it now

lizardqueenie · 16/03/2010 17:43

Afternoon all
What a lovely day its been!

I am feeling grumpy though - still waiting for the letter giving me my first MW appointment. How long does it take??? I saw my GP last Mon and he dictated the letter whilst I was there. I know the longer i wait the more I will see, but I just want a date!

rjeffrey1985 · 16/03/2010 17:59

Hi all,
I posted this on another thread but not this one looks more involved.
Found out on Friday (12th March) that I am pregnant with my 2nd. I'm a little worried though as I had a c-section with my first in June 2009 so think it may be a little too soon to be preggers again. Me and my hubby only just started trying last month expecting it to take at least 3-4 mths but I seem to have caught on straight away.
Does anyone know if I'm at higher risk of miscarrying?
I can't stop worrying and have taken 5 tests already (all positive) but still my mind is not at rest.
I'm also worried I'm going to end up losing it through the stress of it all!!
Congratulations to everyone expecting!

Hello!

I have just got my three BFPs today, and I am over the flipping moon! But also now a nervous wreck....!

If I go by my calendar days I am 7 weeks-ish, but the Clearblue Digital suggested I was only 4 weeks, so we will have to wait.... does anyone know if not using first morning urine will lead to lower levels of HCG being present?

Congrats everyone!

Gaga82 · 16/03/2010 18:36

Hi,

Have just seen comments about flying, I am due to go to New York on 3rd April, any advice from anyone about how to feel as good as possible? Am awake at 5am every morning over last week, so dreading jet lag etc.

Am also at a wedding this weekend, need an excuse not to be drinking, not ready to go public yet, may just have to tell strangers though, secrecy is killing me!!

Loopsymumsy thanks for that piece of advice, I'll just try and stay positive and whatever happens, happens

cluckyduck firstly, congrats on the BFPs and in answer to your question...yes, not using your first morning pee will lead to lower levels of HCG so if you have another test, try it again first thing tomorrow morning

x

Babybean1 · 16/03/2010 18:42

Hi cluckyduck congrats on BFP. And congrats to rjeffrey 2

Not sure about the HCG levels going down through out the day, don't think they do! I used a normal one in the afternoon about 4 days after my first BFP and that came up really strong. I do think however that the clearblue only show up to 4 weeks (the test doesn't have more weeks programmed ) my cousin had the same thing when she was 8 weeks but it only showed 4. Count from 1st date of last period and if your normally pretty regular it should tell u from there. Hope that helps

hmmSleep · 16/03/2010 19:04

rjeffrey I got pregnant with my ds 10 months after giving birth to dd by emergency c-section, had no problems at all and wasn't even aware there was any higher risk, so sure you'll be fine.

cluckyduck · 16/03/2010 19:09

Thanks ladies! Now just have to convince DP to part with another tenner for a digital test!

rjeffrey my SIL got pg 4 months after having an emergency CS, she now has two gorgeous DDs aged 3 and 2, and is expecting another in May!

Tillybea · 16/03/2010 20:18

Clucky - Don't rely on the Clearblue results to tell you how pregnant you are. First of all I think 3+/4 weeks is the max it goes up to. Then, what makes it confusing it that it measures your pregnancy from when you ovulated/conceived, not as with actual pregnancy dates, from your last period. So while it may be saying you're 4 weeks pregnant, it means, in the same way your GP will measure it, you're more likely 6+ weeks pregnant. Lots and lots of ladies get worried about this.. it's not 100% accurate too, so until your scan, just be happy you're pregnant and worry about the real dates later.

Tillybea · 16/03/2010 20:23

Forgot to say Congrats btw!

rollerbaby · 16/03/2010 20:58

Woweeeee I can't believe how much the thread is growing.

I am stressing today as nausea has improved in the last day - is this normal? I wasn't actually sick before just felt rubbish before lunch. Feel a bit more like myself now. Am 7+2 and MS has been noticeable in last 2 weeks.

Thinking about having another scan on Friday just to calm my mind. Paranoid I know.

Brilliant to see so many of us on the thread. Congrats to everyone.

Watching 'One born...', love the polo couple - chilled or what?

Reassuring prog, I think. Makes you think everyone else can do it so why not me.
