Oh and I am 30 and have 1 DS who is 8

stuffedmk · 12/03/2010 15:56

hmmsleep had very strong cramps with DS, much worse than period pains and he was fine.

hmmSleep · 12/03/2010 15:58

Just found this on babycentre website, referring to wk 7 of pregnancy;

"You may not look or even feel pregnant, but your uterus is expanding to accommodate your growing baby. Before pregnancy it was the size of a clenched fist; now it's as big as a grapefruit. As it grows you may feel some abdominal cramping and mild twinges."

Phew!

hmmSleep · 12/03/2010 15:59

Thanks stuffedmk!

stuffedmk · 12/03/2010 16:03

GP told me to just take paracetamol if I needed to. I remember they started quite low then later on in my sides, but was told when I asked that that was also normal.

Kyuri · 12/03/2010 16:07

hmmsleep - last week I had cramps for a couple of days straight, not as bad as period cramps and difficult to describe, almost felt wrong to describe the sensation as cramps at all but didn't have a better word for it! Given history of MC was a bit paranoid but google threw up (poor choice of words!) lots of references to "stretching pains". Haven't had any this week but I think they can come and go. Have decided nothing to worry about

cluelessnchaos · 12/03/2010 18:32

I have spent the whole day listening to friends telling me they think a mutual friend of ours is mad for starting all over again when her youngest is 4, 4 seperate times I was told she must be mad for having a 4th, it might be a long time before I make the news public and when I do I think it will be via the children I am not too prepared for the judgy pants.

tanmu82 · 12/03/2010 18:45

loopymumsy I totally agree, this is a necessary, if frustrating part of pregnancy....it just feels so much longer than it did before (though I KNOW I was just as obsessive in those early weeks too)

I am actually looking forward to MS because it will make it all seem much more real. I have my booking in app on 20th April and my dating scan on 30th - that's almost 7 weeks away!!!

NBelle · 13/03/2010 06:59

Hi can I join too?

Just found out on Thursday I was pregnant after ttc for 2 years and our first round of IVF

Just trying to let it sink in, can't quite believe it. Think i have been so caught up in trying to get pregnant I haven't thought much about actually being pregnant. Feeling ok so far, my boobs are huge but not sure if that is a side effect of some of the fertility drugs.

I think my due date is November 17th.

Congratulations to everyone!

PrivetDancer · 13/03/2010 09:28

Hello!
I just got a bfp! My cycle is not v regular but I think due date around 12 nov.
I have an 18month old dd. Am a bit stunned as we only just started trying half heartedly this month and last time it took 2 years to get pg. Was expecting to have a good few months to get used to the idea first!

Congratulations to everyone else!

mumcha · 13/03/2010 09:39

MarthaFarquhar · 13/03/2010 10:36

bgt · 13/03/2010 13:31

Hello
Can I join, I think my due date is 15th November. This is my 2nd child, my son will be 2 next week. I was very lucky and it happened first month of trying. Either I am very fertile or my dh has super swimmers :-)

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 13/03/2010 14:03

For those of you with MS you can try these which you can get from Boots, for some people they work, others they don't but as far as I am concerned everything is worth a shot!

hello to all the newcommers, the list is growing now isnt it! congratulations all.

today i had to pick up my car from the garage (again!) driving along i felt so awful, i really just wanted to pull over and throw up! but as stuffedmk says the stronger the signs are the happier we are!

my booking in appointment went really well yesterday. the midwife is lovley, she's sent off for my 12 week scan and i'm really excited. she gave me all of the books and paperwork to look through, there is so much reading, but also alot of info for dh so he's happy.

hmmsleep cramping is definatly normal as long as it doesnt last too long so longer than about 1-2 minutes. its your uterus streching to fit the baby in, you usually only feel with your first baby - so i'm told.

libra apparantly their really good, my midwife recommended them to me, but she said it may only stop you being sick and may not stop you feeling sick

Hello and welcome to all the newcomers.

Well I woke up at 6am to do the second digital test and it changed from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks so that's good enough for me, seems this is a new pregnancy not any hormones leftover from last month's mc!

I have taken on board all your advice and am thinking positive thoughts and trying to chill, I am not going to think about anything going wrong at all, if it does, then I will deal with it at the time.

I am trying to explain to OH that I want to talk about the baby now and plan but he is very odd about it all, after seeing how upset I was after the mc I think. I think he will change in time though. Any advice on handling the men in our lives??

hmmSleep · 13/03/2010 20:00

red My dh is exactly the same, says he's not going to get excited until we safely pass the 12 wk mark this time. I can see where they're coming from, but he was so happy and excited when we found out I was pregnant with our dcs it feels a little sad not to be this time. I guess it's just their way of coping with what happened last time, dh was just as excited, and just as upset as I was, it's the only time I've seen him cry, apart from when our dcs were born (out of happiness then obviously!).

I can tell he is getting more excited as time passes though, he couldn't resist cupping my tummy in a protective fashion when in bed last night. Hopefully your oh just needs a bit more time too.

Tillybea · 13/03/2010 20:14

Hello can I join you all please?

This is my first mumsnet posting. I've been a member for a while but have never got around to posting anywhere before.

Got my BFP yesterday, I did another test today to make sure as it's a bit of a shock and that's confirmed it for us. This will be our 3rd little bundle and to be honest, we'd almost given up trying. I'm not getting any younger (37 - shhh!) and we've never found it easy to get pregnant so were simply close to calling it a day when we discovered this lovely surprise.

I'm not 100% sure of my dates, not the most regular and didn't track my dates very well, but I think I'll be due around 11 November.

So far very little symptoms wise, beginning to feel very tired, but then I do have a nearly 4yr old and a 2yr old to run around after, so I think I'm allowed to be tired!

I haven't really read back too far on here - 33 pages already! but I hope I'll be able to catch up on what's what with everyone.

Congrats to you all on your pregnancies.

addictedtomn · 13/03/2010 20:15

red my dh is adiment that he is not going to get excited about any of it this time, untill we've had a scan and have seen the baby. But i have caught hhim looking at baby clothes etc on line. I think its their way of protecting themselves and you.

addictedtomn · 13/03/2010 20:19

sorry till, i'm on my phone so very slow. Hi and welcome
