Hello Crafty definitely is an addictive thing. Only had one a week and half ago and already wondering how long I can make myself wait. I had sort of decided in my head I'd go and have another private scan at 9 weeks, so a sort of half way house to 12. Seeing the beginnings of a heart beat was very reassuring but now I need more reassurance!! The nausea if I don't eat every hour or two is a good sign though. My neighbour just popped round and told me how large my boobs look. oh good they're going to be really huge in 8 months, I'm already an E cup.

Do you think if you have big boobs already that means they don't get much bigger or can I expect them to double in size a la Jordan? Mr Moo absolutely loves them, but no touching at the moment!!!

Hello all, can I join please?

Got a BFP on Saturday but I am feeling pretty cautious as had a chemical pregnancy last month and feel too lucky to have fallen pregnant again so soon. Struggling to believe it a bit. I am going to test again Saturday to check it isn't some leftover hormones from last month and then I might believe it properly.

So, I am due November 11th and this will be our first, I am 4+5 today.

Oh and I am not telling anyone as I told a few people at work last time and it got out and I had someone congratulating me on my pregnancy when I had already lost the baby and that was AWFUL. I could do with some people to obsess with though pretty please

I think I have some symptoms but I also think I might be imagining them somehow. I feel nauseous right up until lunch, I suddenly can't wear perfume any more because I don't like any of them (anyone else??) and my nipples KILL if they get cold. I seem to have no control over my temperature either and am either boiling or freezing.

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 11/03/2010 20:29

Oh and I am 33 and TERRIFIED

Booboobedoo · 11/03/2010 20:45

Hi everyone,

Haven't posted for a couple of days as I've got a nasty flu-lurgy.

So sorry to hear your news Energumene. Very sad.

hmmsleep and Womblegarten - heartfelt sympathies. I had HG in my last pregnancy from 6 - 24 weeks, and it was hell. In fact, when I found out I was pregnant this time around I burst into terrified tears.

So far so good, though...

I found this website very helpful. It lists a lot of the research that's been done into hyperemesis (mainly in the States). Just KEEP EATING AND DRINKING.

My lovely GP promised that she's prescribe me anti-emetic suppositories if I started displaying the symptoms again. Worth asking your GPs, I'd say.

Wrt to passing the time, it's much easier the second time around, especially when your kiddy is only at nursery one morning a week. I mostly spend my time singing the The Wheels on the Bus and pretending to be the Grandad (sic) Duke of York.

Booboobedoo · 11/03/2010 20:46

Oh, and welcome to all the newbies. .

redandyellowandpinkandgreen - don't be terrified. It's a piece of cake - honest.

Womblegarten · 11/03/2010 22:11

Hi everyone and welcome newcomers! I also have been debating whether to get an early scan or not. I went to see the GP this morning and she didn't think I'd be offered a free early scan which is odd as last time (after a previous mc) I was offered an early scan which then showed an empty sac and led to mc no.2. I can't decide whether it's better to wait (no news is good news after all..) or to pay to have a private scan for the reassurance. I think DH is worried about receiving bad news again if we have an early scan but 6 more weeks feels like a lifetime to wait!!

hmmsleep so glad you managed to keep your lunch down! Today sickness was manageable - I bought some ginger biscuits but I don't think they made much difference!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 12/03/2010 07:15

mumcha so glad things are ok and fingers crossed for next week.

talkingback I put on lots of weight with my last pregnancy and trying to avoid the same this time, some ideas for healthy (and not so healthy but low-cal) snacks. alpen or weetabix cereal bars (easy to keep in handbag and less than 100 cal), breadsticks, grapes, rice cakes or carrot sticks (I find them too dry so dip them into the small pots of philidelpia (sp!)), bananas, Innocent smoothies, in Lakeland you can get huge tubs of seeds and nuts a handful of them, childs pot of yogurt, rich tea biscuits. The other thing you can do is instead of having 3 meals a day is to break them down into 6 smaller meals. I am trying to keep active as well but feeling sick and tired all the time isn't helping so I am just doing 30minutes a day in the gym which should be enough to maintain a baseline fitness.

marypoppins welcome and there are a few of us on here who have had m/c in the past and keeping our legs well crossed at the moment!

ladybee thanks for those podcasts, I will be listening to my hypnobirthings CDs again as well which tell me I am A STRONG WOMAN, WHO CAN BREATHE THROUGH LABOUR. Very american, but they work

martha glad I am not the only one who is feeling their clothes are tight, I had to use one of those belly buttons on my jeans yesterday and I was like WTF I am eating carefully and exercising how can I be popping out already.

ebb hope your little one feels better soon.

clear yes just make an appointment with GP and he should pass you on to midwife and scan.

gingertoo there is hope re:SPD an NCT friend had it really badly during her first prenancy but hasn't had it yet (she is 7 months) in her second.

Tanmus82 I remember with my first pregnancy I mostly bought every mother and baby magazine and treated myself like a delicate princess however this time DS1 has other ideas.

hmm I was discussing an early scan with DH last night and he did ask what was the point, for the same reason you have pointed out, an ok early scan now doesn't mean you will get to 12 weeks (sorry to scare everyone who has had an ok early scan!)

clueless gaviscon is your new best friend - you can get it on prescription plus in useful handbag sachets.

boo hope you feel better soon.

redandyellowandpinkandgreen if you are terrified of the labour have a look at this www.hypnobirthing.co.uk/

Welcome to all the newbies I have missed.

I have a GP appointment this morning which will mainly consist of me saying yes I am taking folic acid (and hope you all are too) and can I please be referred to either consultant a or b for my care. I then need to go into town to order some lamb to cook for 8 on Mothering Sunday. I am pretty much constantly nauseous (but not actually sick) and tired. I went to bed at 8:30pm last night and woke up feeling sick and exhausted. I want more than 2 kids but think we might adopt after this one!!!

addictedtomn · 12/03/2010 07:29

morning all, craftymoo its perfectly normal to worry when you sneeze! i panic every time i do and i know its totally irrational.

glad to hear thoes waiting for tests and scans have had good news (are we still waiting for 1 person to come back?)

i have my first midwife appointment today, actually rreally looking forward to it, because as others have said it all feels real once your booked in!

hi every one else, sorry there are so many posts since i posted last time i havent managed to catch up, i think that means i need to post more!

Ooo, just wanted to drop in and wish you all luck. Your thread came up on "most active" and took me staright back to this time last year! DD is cooing in her cot right now. Good luck all

harmonyb23 · 12/03/2010 10:34

Hello everyone can I join?

I have just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant and am due [according to LMP] around November 17th.

My name is Becky and I am 21 trying for my second child [I have a DS who is 6 and a half]. I recently got pregnant [last November] but it turned out to be ectopic so I had to have a chemical abortion. I am hoping that this pregnancy is a healthy/feasible one [fingers crossed]

There seems to be a lot going on on this thread so I'll try and keep up. How's everyone else doing, congratulations to you all!!! x x x

SilverBoots · 12/03/2010 10:51

Morning!

Thanks for that Pootle !

honeymoo re: boobage - from my experience they get bigger regardless of what size you start out at! I'm normally a 30D but now DD & still 'expanding'

Loopy, you are not alone, I did another test this am

Hello & welcome to new people!

I'll now go back & read the thread properly - its moving so fast!

floweringcurrant · 12/03/2010 11:47

Good morning everyone...just wanted to share the earthshattering news that digi preg test has moved from '1.2 weeks pregnant' to '2.3 weeks pregnant'. Yep I'm pathetically still testing everyday for reassurance and hoping I start throwing up soon.
will now read back through posts. hope everyone is well and has a lovely weekend.

Threelittleducks · 12/03/2010 11:57

Hey all, still here

I now have two wee tests sitting in my drawer. Still haven't told anyone apart from my hubby. Terrified that it's going to miscarry. I'm always full of irrational fears about things, but stuff like this drives me crazy - especially when I can't get answers!

So pardon me if I become a little obsessive.

Gong to see a friend of mine this afternoon and dying to tell her, as we have boys the same age and were hoping to be pregnant together. But haven't told anyone else. I fear it may come out this afternoon. Help!

Threelittleducks · 12/03/2010 12:01

Forgot to introduce myself properly (sorrrrry!! spend so much time on mn, I just always feel like joining in - it's so homely )

I'm 25 years old, this will be babba number 2 (fingers crossed) and dd is 15th November.

Congrats one and all!

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 12/03/2010 12:49

Do you really want my list?

I am scared I am not really pregnant and it is some sort of freak brain tumour.
I am scared as I have to do another test tomorrow and it might not go to 1-2 weeks, like it should.
I am scared of anything going wrong that can go wrong basically and trying very hard to relax but failing and have ended up being very anxous and miserable.

Maybe the test tomorrow will give me some reassurance?

floweryogi · 12/03/2010 12:55

Howdy...

Hope everyone is doing ok today and not suffering too much.

Thanks for the advice about early scan - I'm going to sit tight and do my best to be patient. I just really want to see/know that everything is ok as I don't really feel that pregnant apart from the boobs. And of course in my mind I know I am and there's a little one in there!

I am scared though... not really about labour more about everything being ok and the little one being well. It's really good to know that we're sharing this together. As I read the thread yesterday I was thinking - wow it's not just me! I thought I was being silly obsessing so much in such early days but now I know that it's perfectly natural.

Thanks - have lovely weekends everyone xxx

PoodleMum · 12/03/2010 12:57

Hello,
Welcome to everyone just getting their BFPs!
I can completely relate to those feeling terrified about what might go wrong.
My plan not to tell people at work failed yesterday as I had stopped having any symptoms and was really worried so my colleagues knew something was up. Had an occupational health appointment too about what I can and can't do at work when pregnant. But it was quite nice having people know and be supportive, and feel if it all goes wrong they will be understanding.
Anyway hope all the positives tests and good first scans continue.

floweryogi · 12/03/2010 12:59

redandyellow.... I am sharing your fears.

positive thought positive thought positive thought.....

easier said than done I know!

Take it easy and treat yourself to something lovely this weekend xx

Kyuri · 12/03/2010 13:04

Hello hello!

Reading the thread from start to finish has whiled away a good hour of my Friday morning at work If I may be so bold, I'd like to join you lovely ladies? I'm 6+4 with this pregnancy (EDD 1 Nov). Had a MC just over a year ago at about 5 wks, and then got PCOS diagnosis. On 2nd cycle of clomid got a BFP and am keeping everything tightly crossed that this one sticks. I have a scan next Wed to check location and heartbeat.

Symptom-wise I feel vaguely nauseous but thankfully no spewing as of yet. Boobs are humungous! Feel freezing a lot of the time and have been eating like an absolute pig. Oh, and am tired.....zzzzzzzzzz.

This will (hopefully) be our first so the pregnancy thing is all very new and interesting. Look forward to sharing and hopefully laughing through next 7.5 months

Wise words loopymumsy! Obsessive checking / worrying definitely goes with the territory but I agree, it's definitely worth it in the end!

Good to hear that about SPD libra Was thinking that it was pretty much inevitable that I'd get it again so fingers crossed I don't!

addictedtomn how did you mw appt go? Mine's not til next Thurs..

Welcome harmonyb23 Fingers crossed this time

I had to laugh at your lovely comment floweringcurrant : 'hoping to start throwing up soon' only on a pregnancy thread would you hear that!

Threelittleducks I've told my best friend this morning - couldn't stop myself

I'm running a choir session for a load of 8-11 yr olds tonight - really don't feel like it - Feeling horribly sick and need to sleeeeeep!

bubbakin · 12/03/2010 14:33

Hello

I'm another November mumma!! Think EST is 2nd, that's going by conception date. Already have a DS who is close approaching 3. Forgot how terrible this early stage of pg is and annoyingly all the bad symptoms have started a good 4 weeks earlier than my first pg!! Feel sick 24/7 but haven't been sick yet (but I'm sure if I really wanted to be I could!!!) When I wake in the night, I feel sick & struggle to get back off.....my boobs feel like they're full of milk (and have infact got milk in!!!)........don't know what to eat just know that I need to....something I ate & enjoyed yesterday makes me shiver in horror today ........moan over!
On the other hand, I've got a gorgeous little boy who, god willing, will make a fabulous big brother!!!
Looking forward to getting to know you all & being there to offer advice & receive it!!
Bubbakin
6+2

stuffedmk · 12/03/2010 15:52

Got a BFP today so thought I'd pop my head in and say hello
Have sore boobies and feel like crap, but feel happier the more crap I feel cos it's obviously a good sign lol
Reckon My due date will be roughly 20th Nov.

hmmSleep · 12/03/2010 15:54

Welcome newcomers!

Have been getting funny very low down cramps today, more twinges than cramps, don't remember this from previous pregnancies, nor from when I miscarried. Just trying to ignore them and hope they go away! Anybody having similar? Hoping it's just things moving about etc down there. Funny how quickly you forget how you felt in previous pregnancies isn't it, my ds is only 2.5yrs, so not that long ago!
