Oh, BoB, not self-indulgent at all. If you can't have a moan on here then what can you do?
I just hope you can think of something suitable to do/say to your dp and flatmate when you lay your hands on them. I think a combination of hormones and rightful indignation should fire the imagination, if not come back on here and I'm sure we can help

Sorry about the SPD too, that's rotten

Hamster - love the eels thing - yes, yes, yes, that's just what its like. I'm sure Tessa was never as wriggly as this one.
Unfortunately on the nap front it is Tessa who is having to get used to me crashing out on the sofa now and not the other way round-she gave up her nap over 6 months ago!

Kristina - I'm with you on the feeling pregnant thing now as well. Definately feeling heavy and the usual walk to the shops (well saunter at a 2 year olds pace via interesting flowers, stones and those rubber bands that the postmen leave everywhere!) leaves me collapsed on the sofa wanting a nap (see above)
Admittedly I have been an Olympic eater since the line went blue but I think both the baby and Tessa are having growth spurts as DH just watches in amazement as we eat our way through the kitchin an hour after a full meal

25 weeks (sort of!)

Busyalexsmummy · 25/07/2005 21:03

havent been online for over a week as i failed to pay my phone bill on time as it was a horrific amount so they suspended my service until i paid and it took them 4 days for eveything to be working ok again! oh the joys of being brassic!

not alot to report here, getting bigger, feel alot heavier, get woken up by cramp in my legs every single morning now! not nice! baby is so active now, i have to lie down alot as it makes me feel sick! im not comfortable with it moving around directly under my belly butten as i had a para-umbilical hernia that twisted last nov and was rushed in the hospital to have it sorted, its fine, but theres a possibility that it'll re occur, so it makes me feel alittle quesy thinking about it!

ds kisses my belly now and rests his head on it when im lying on the sofa and says awwww! bless him!

saw the midwife last tuesday, everythings ok, she booked me in for my GTT on 6th sept, oh joy and its at 8.30AM-AM!! thats a joke, getting myself and ds up+dressed and down the sugery for that time!! lol

dp has been off work for a week and a half, hes signed off till thursday, he managed to get pssed 2 weekends ago and fell down a drain on his way home, he went to see the dr, and he said that hes got a hematoma(sp?) in his leg, so have had to look after him aswell all last week as he has been a complete invalid more or less!-still, he didnt get much sympathy off me, a. because he got pssed and he should know his limits
b.i dont get much sympathy with my spd pain!
Im crossing my fingers that it'll affect next months wages not this months as we have got to pay lots of stuff for his brothers wedding, stag/hen nights, outfits, hilton etc-ahhhhhh! probably the worst month financially he could of done it!

BoB-sorry to hear about the spd-join the club and if you need any advice feel free to ask!

KristinaM-agree with you on the munchies topic, i seem to be stuffing a huge amount of rubbish into my mouth at the moment, suppose im just making up for the horrendous m/s which has pretty much subsided now!

CADS-shocking about your parenting!!, no seriuosly though, i swear their jobs for the next 18 years are to scare us shitless and make us go grey early! little buggers!

i hope everyone is well, have read through most of the posts ive missed since being away so i hope nothing serious has happened that ive missed!

Morning girls,

Bob, I gasped then lol at your post, are you going to kill them?! I take it the flatmate is male as well? I'd book yourself into a nice expensive hotel at their expense if I was you and tell them that you'll come home when the house is as you left it and that his credit card is going to take a bashing until it's spotless!!

Tessa & Kristina I'm glad I'm not the only one who's tired I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat during the day at the moment it's a nightmare, I feel about 104!

Busy good to have you back, thought you must have been on holiday - no such luck eh? Why does everything that's really expensive happen all at once, family weddings are definitely the worst as they hit your pocket as much as the couple getting married don't they. When is the wedding? Hope your dp is on the mend soon, nothing worse than an ill man around you all day!!!

Sharon hope you get it sorted out with your sister, I'm sure she'll forgive your outburst and put it down to hormones.

Twinkle hope everything goes well with the mw, let us know won't you.

Things with us are fine, off to see a friends new house this afternoon to will speak to you all later Beks 24+2(ish)

SharonTW1 · 26/07/2005 12:17

Hi everyone, feeling not so stressed today, have woken up with a terrible stitch in my side though rang my midwife for some re-assurance and all she did was tell me off for using the wrong phone line, lovely !
Hope everyone's ok

hi everyone...feeling much much more relaxed now..i got my own back by ordering a huge pizza, garlic bread and ice cream from dominos online with dp's credit card...mwuhahahaha
bad for me I know..but i needed the fat!
my friend suggested taking out the lightbulb in the hall and reating an obstacle course with the bags of rubbish, beer cans and dirty laundry that was lying around for dp to stumble over when he rolled in drunk...would have been fun!
I had them hoovering at 11pm..most satisfying.
Sorry some of you don't feel too good..it's so up and down this pregnany business! you can feel gat one week, and then the smallest thing hits you and you feel totally wiped out..i'm sure its worth our pain though!
i'm currently investigating a pram..i have about 6 to decide between now, but it's just so hard..i want them all! he he. How many of you have gotten yours yet?
i'm also finding a massive increase in movement, it's gone from the occasional nudge to feeling like theres a gymnastics show going on in there. yesterday on the train I could see my bump moving up and down as he booted me..most amussing! he he

LilJ · 26/07/2005 16:32

We went to buggy clinic at John Lewis this weekend and have decided to bite the bullet and get the Bugaboo Frog w/Maxi-Cosi car seat - it was that or the Mamas and Papas pramette, but even the shop assistant had a hard time doing all the bits on the M&Ps and the Bugaboo was so easy to use in comparison. Seems like an extraordinary amount of money, but judging by ebay we can recoop most of that back if we sell it later on. Nothing but the best for Chip/Chipolina!

I've also noticed a huge upswing in movement. Baby seems to be active all the time now and seems to especially like stamping on my bladder. Great fun though - just hope it's the baby having fun rather than get me out of here feelings.

Lil J, somewhere around 24 weeks

tessasmum · 26/07/2005 19:54

To all those 1st timers who haven't got a pram yet, the only thing I can REALLY recommend is getting swivel wheels at the front. If you have fixed wheel(s) you will be lifting the damn thing up ALL the time to try and negotiate all the obstacles that will suddenly appear in your life - rails in shops, other people, animals, street furniture, bins, cars on pavements, etc, etc. Life takes on a whole new perspective

BoB - glad you got your own back. Liked the obstacle course idea a lot though!

All a bit tired and grumpy here. Tessa woke briefly at 4am this morning, she was back asleep in 5 minutes and slept till 8.30 but DH didn't get back to sleep at all and I only dozed. Early night I think!

rodeo1 · 27/07/2005 10:17

Well I'm back from a nice break away, back to reality now! Well a huge stack of washing!! Let's hope it stays rain-free so I can dry it outside.

Well it's been quite quiet on here hasn't it? Hope no-ones suffering from mid-term blues, it seems to drag a bit this middle term! Didn't get to see a full length mirror while I was away so looked huge when I got in last night! Think I may have had a growth spurt - or maybe it's been all that good living over the past few days!

Good to hear about all these eel like babies! Mine is pretty quiet but has her moments for a mad half hour!

Well done on all the pram buying, girls! Agree with you Tessasmum about the swivel wheels!!

LilJ, my friend has got the bugaboo - and it looks great. Think it's the highest scoring travel system or pram on the Mumsnet surveys too - although you'll have to be careful not to be mistaken for Gwynnie or Stella though!

Twinkle, how are you now after your awful encounter? Have your bruises healed yet? Good to here about your BP, why do they need to give you a growth scan? Is it just from your fundal height measurements? I have a growth scan booked for the middle of August due to previous history of early Pre-eclampsia. Hopefully all will be well!

I don't know, all these dh's/dp's getting drunk! What are they like?? Oh well, they won't be able to do it for much longer - they'll be on high alert for labour! My best friend's dh went out 1 week before her due date and got completely drunk and was sick all over her house, in every room. Idiot - I don't like him BTW!

Right better go - I can hear the washing machine finishing! I'm sure I'll be back on later

26 weeks today!! x x x

Hi ya, Welcome back Rodeo, glad you had a fun weekend away.

Bob I loved the obstacle idea will file that away for future reference!

I have just decided I am completely mad as we had arranged a day out with four 3-4 year olds and two younger siblings and it's raining, so now they are all coming to me for a craft session including self drying modelling clay, paint, glitter & glue. Someone call the dr & get me certified quick!

We are going out to lunch first though so will get some pleasure before the pain, feel the need for belgian waffle, with strawberries and chocolate sauce - yum!!!

Have a good day all and I'll post later to tell you whether the house & I survive

hamster · 27/07/2005 11:21

Morning all

Feeling a little more energetic than usual today, don't know why as we had a bit of a late night last night. Mind you I'll probably be a wreck come lunch itme!

Rodeo-My bump has officially had a bit of a growth spurt too. Must be normal about this time....I hope. My maternity clothes from last time are already getting rather fitted!
Hope you had a good time away anyway. Where did you go?

Baby has been a little quiet over the past day or so. Hope all is well. If I worry I make myself go and lie down until I feel movement! Want the eel feeling back!

We are picking our pram up next month I think. The shop has had to order us one in. We're getting the Phil and Teds double pushchair.
Pushchairs are soooo expensive though aren't they?! You end up paying nearly as much as the pushchair just for the extras that come with it!

Right...had better go, ds is SCREAMING, obviously woken up a little hungry.

Have a good day :-)
xx

BEKsmum · 28/07/2005 10:40

Morning all, managed to survive the craft afternoon, although Ben did feel the need to empty two pots of glitter all over the floor while my back was turned!

Just doing painting today, so it shouldn't be too painful hopefully.

I've got the mw this afternoon so get to listen to bumps heartbeat again today.

Hope you all have a good day.
Beks (24+4)

tessasmum · 28/07/2005 12:10

BEKS - you do realise that you will still be hoovering up the glitter when the baby reaches Ben's age don't you?
Enjoy the painting, I've got some great photos from our last painting session when Tessa ended up all bare and painting her body - luckily we were in the garden. She will regret it come her 18th birthday though

Busy - welcome back.

Hamster - this is getting spooky! I was full of energy yesterday too, didn't need to collapse on the sofa once, AND my eels have gone all quiet!

Rodeo - glad you had a nice time away. Camping's a bit of a bummer when it comes to washing though isn't it? We are off next Thursday for a week. Found a really nice quiet campsite last year just outside Exmouth, where my sister lives. My Mum and stepdad will be over staying with her for part of it so we'll get to see them too which will be lovely. Just hope the weather picks up a bit.

Had a bit of a shock on Saturday in the toilets at Whipsnade zoo! They have a full-length mirror in there and I got to see myself in profile for the first time. Hadn't realised how pg I looked, I didn't think I looked that big when looking down on it! Hope last times clothes will continue to fit for a long time though as I haven't even tried them yet, was pg in the winter last time and don't really feel the need for thick trousers etc. Also it took me forever to find trousers long enough and I REALLY don't want to have to go through that again.

hi all,
just got back from a "floats & fun" swimming session with the kids. I now feel like i have run a marathonI love been in the pool but hate the return of gravity when i get out (Those of you that go swimming at the min will know exactly what i mean)But the kids have had a great time and the weather here is like that of mid Nov so we could not do anything outside today.
Im going home to the N/east next week so im looking forward to spending time with friends and family.
hope everyone is well at the min, for those of you with kids only 5 weeks to go

hamster · 28/07/2005 15:52

Good afternoon,

Not long got back from the midwife. Everything is ok. I've a low blood pressure(which apparently is good), and baby's heartbeat was normal-I love that bit!
They only downer is that in 2 weeks I've got to have my anti-D jab ...it hurts! (The needle isn't exactly small put it that way.)
But overall I'm very happy that this pg is going so quick, and so hassle free.

I'm generally feeling knackered at the moment, though that's probably due to early mornings at work, but I have a light at the end of the tunnel-only 2 weeks left! I cannot express how nice it will be, even get up at 6 or 7am instead of 4am-ick. Can't wait!

Twinkle-I know exactly what you mean. We started taking ds swimming every Sunday morning. Before this it was about 4 years since I had set foot in a pool. I still feel as though I'm having palpitations an hour after I get out!

Tessasmum-Glad I'm not the only "loser of the eels" LOL. Perhaps it's because baby's getting bigger and there's less room to kick out-maybe?
Where did you find long maternity trousers? The two pairs I have both look like they've had a row with my ankles. Not a good look.

Catch you all tomorrow
xx

Morning girls, Tessa you are so right about the glitter, dh wasn't even at home and he seems to have bits of it stuck to him everytime I look round! Managed to avoid the painting yesterday by going to the park but will have to do it today when I get back from my Grandads.

Saw mw yesterday, my blood pressure is now fine, whoopee, everything with baby was fine, met my proper mw for the first time and she was really nice, put me at my ease and didn't moan about my weight, hooray! I was feeling very good though as I haven't quite put on a stone yet!!!

Twinkle, can you believe how the weather has changed since the holidays started - yesterday was the first day we've managed to get out, roll on the next 5 weeks. Have a great time at home next week, will you get lots of pampering or more importantly will someone else enterain the kids for you?

Right better get going, as my parents will be here in a bit, speak to you all later Beks (24+5)

ChaCha · 29/07/2005 10:38

Hello everyone

Gosh, it's really been quiet on here, thought i'd be forever catching up! Good to hear that everyone's been well, I've been okay, still having the odd 'sicky session' but surviving. (People keep telling me that my bump is small!!! what is with that - I feel absolutely massive!!)
Had a good few days away although the rain did put a damper on things (naturally!) We will try and get away again in a few weeks, maybe somewhere up north this time.

Have just realised that there is nothing of Enthusia on here, nobody heard anything? I am hoping that between the end of school, moving home and her dad that she is just super busy. Must email her later now that i'm home.

Baby is still active, seems to come alive when i'm having lunch and when i'm resting in the evening. It's a lovely feeling but do get quite a strong kick at times that leaves me a bit anxious!

Girls, I had my 20 week scan on the 14th of July, will the GP/MW be getting in touch with me for next appt or am i supposed to do that? Bit worried about next stage iyswim...

Well, no work for me anymore - still getting used to that fact. Time to surf a little, put the washing on and...and....housework!

Love Chacha

harpsichordcarrier · 29/07/2005 12:44

hi everyone - am I too late to join?? I am new to MN, DD is Nov 13th which makes me twenty (cough) weeks (25 maybe?? lost track some time ago.) I am a SAHM with two year old.
and can someone tell me about this loo roll test? Is it - see how much loo roll goes around the bump. could be terrifying...

rodeo1 · 29/07/2005 14:23

Hello all,

Yes it has been quiet on here of late, maybe it's just the lull after our excitement of our 20 week scans. We should think of some exciting topics to while away the weeks! Hmmm....have to think about that one!

Welcome Harpsichord, never too late to join us! KWYM about losing track of weeks! Do you know what you're having? What have you got already?

Welcome back Chacha! Can we look forward to our frequent posts again? It has been lonely without you! We've all turned into once daily posters!! I was thinking the same about Enthusia too, let us know if you manage to hear from her - hopefully she is either too busy or too busy relaxing on her summer hols! Has she started mat leave like you chacha?

Not heard from a few of the regulars lately - Jenjam, Tex, CADS, Nova (think she's on her hols) alfiesmum, laylasmum and the rest, hope you are all well x x x

Weather has been miserable this week, and has turned me into a bit of a hermit homebody! Had best friend over this morning though, she's due 26th-ish Nov, and is having a little girl! Had a good moan/compare of scan piccies, etc., which was nice.
Getting a few cravings now, mainly for bread/bagette crusts, the browner the better, with fizzy water! My bread loaf looks terrible, I've ripped the top crust off most of the slices!

Right will get off now, just finished a whole tub of raspberries!

26+2 x x x

Hi girlies, off for a week after today , buying a house in France and going to get it sorted at last, needs lots of work though.
So need a week off work , been really stressed this week.
Been called Mumsy, Fatty and waddle today ! Charming eh ?
Really starting to 'bloom' though.
Have fun everyone and take care x

harpsichordcarrier · 29/07/2005 18:06

I dont know what I am having; we didn't want to find out in advance. I have a 2 year old girl and last time I was completely convinced that I was having a girl. This time I don;t have any strong feelings. My DD looks just like my husband (nothing like me AT ALL) but her personality is just like mine (A Handful) so I would like the next one to look like me but have my DH's personality (relaxed, calm, laid back...) - well we live in hope.
I am loving being pregnant but I am getting more and more nervous about what it will be like to have a new baby in the house. I was up all last night (DD has teeth coming/nappy rash keeping her awake) and today I feel so so ropey... I had almost forgotten what it was like to have no sleep. Well I'll soon be reminded.. We have a lovely gentle pace of life now and I can't help thinking that it's all going to get a bit difficult...

novadandypowder · 29/07/2005 19:31

well helloooooooooooo everyone - it's been quiet on here hasn't it, thought it would take me days to catch up with it all, but thankfully everyone seems to be taking a break at the same time.

We came back from holiday yesterday, 3 days early for a variety of reasons that includes pregnancy, builders, dog and food. I'll fill you in with lots of complaining later, off to get some proper dinner xx
