Due October 2010 - anyone else??

loueytbg · 21/01/2010 13:26

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

No bleeding or anything.Interesting comparision though prune juice

Ouch to the bloods!

loueytbg · 10/03/2010 13:39

Nypmh I had similar pains a few weeks ago and had a few days when I thought about possible ectopic but obviously it wasn't. Hopefully that will be the case for you too. Hope you haven't got to wait too long to find out. On the bright side - if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks, then 98% of women go onto have a healthy baby. FX for you.

I think someone needs to come up with a witty title for a new thread...I think we will get booted off this one when it gets to 1000 messages and we are nearly there...

OP posts:
Meanbeansmum · 10/03/2010 13:44

Prune juice is a typical type of ectopic bleed, it's nothing like normal bleeding. I'm sure all is fine, these babies like to keep their mums on their toes.xxxx

MummyLovesSadie · 10/03/2010 13:46

Louey is that right about 98% of women having a healthy baby who see a heartbeat at 8 weeks? That was just what I needed to hear right now! I saw heartbeat at nearly 8 weeks & I'm off to the hospital now for my next scan. My heart is in my mouth.

loobyboo · 10/03/2010 14:19

Welcome to the newbies

Nymph thinking of you hopefully its normal pains. i'd think the same.

I will be 10 wks tomorrow, having a good day today so far, thats cause i had a bad day yesterday and it was my birthday, my dh tried his best to keep me happy took me out for lunch, had a pizza out in the evening with my 2 DD's had to suffer afterwards though.
I keep saying to my dh it must be a boy for giving me so much jip, as my dd's never made me feel like i do with this one, he just says i don't know want you mean!!!

now waiting for the scan letter, can't come quick enough, hopefully by the end of the week. it's been a week and a half since i saw the mw. just need that confirmation that its still there. (cause of mmc last year)and so i can tell my DD's can't wait to see the look on there faces, i feel bad for lying to them about being ill and taking folic acid (vitamins to them) and having to inject becuase of the Blood clotting.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 10/03/2010 14:27

MummyLovesSadie if you have seen a hrt beat at 8 weeks, the risk of MC reduces GREATLY, which is why reassurance scans are so great if you have had a bad experience in the past

loueytbg · 10/03/2010 15:19

MummyLovesSadie I think I got the healthy baby bit from another poster but the figure is right:

see link here

That is exactly why I waited until 8 weeks to get a private scan as I knew the risk dropped dramatically after that point. Obviously there is still a risk but then there always is a chance that things can go wrong.

OP posts:
Nymphadora · 10/03/2010 15:20

Spoke to hosp who said if it was faxed they would already have & didnt so it must be in the internal post that they get tomorrow pm.

Spoke to gp reception who said they can't fax it and no one does but I should hear in 2-3 DAYS at which I cried

Dh is now telling me to phone private scan place and make appt for tomorrow but I think if something is wrong we then have to pay for ops etc. Does anyone know about that?

I know I'm probably over worrying but that's what happens when I spend all day on my own

loueytbg · 10/03/2010 15:24

Nymph - can't you self-refer to EPU? What if you just turn up (can you get hold of a copy of the referral letter from GP reception).

OP posts:
salander · 10/03/2010 16:37

nymph agree with the epu idea - surely if you have pain and they are ?ectopic you should be seen v v quickly? can you speak to your GP?

Nymphadora · 10/03/2010 17:08

No EPU here. Gp said if it gets worse go to a &e

thunk this is one of those times I learnt too much to worry about!

Pain not as bad which has to be good???
But I did spend the day in bed!

dh suggested trying for private scan tomorrow to calm me down but am still wavering over that.

loueytbg · 10/03/2010 17:12

Nymph - does the pain come and go? If it is constant I would got to A&E TBH.

Waves to Redheadgal - due date buddy.

MummyLovesSadie · 10/03/2010 17:12

My scan went really well! Thanks for all of your words of encouragement. Louey that link was fab. Have added today's scan to my profile & the dates match perfectly to what I'd calculated 9+2.

Welcome waves to all the new folks.

Nymphadora · 10/03/2010 17:26

LOL at your tag mummylovessadie & Awwwww at the scan pic and at the others cos you look young & glam even when pg/having tiny baby!

louey there is a dulll pain there all the time (like the period pains ) but there is also stabbing ones every so often which were the ones bothering me.

nattiecake · 10/03/2010 18:20

Grr, just want to let off some steam!!

Am 11 weeks tomoz and still waiting for an appt for my dating scan. The midwife told me the hospital has a backlog, but my friend and cousin are both due a week before me and have not only had their letters but have both had their scans!!

My midwife told me not to even call her to chase it up before the end of next week.

Stupid hospital

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 10/03/2010 18:24

MummyLovesSadie gorgeous pics! Glad the scan went well.

I'm getting a scan at 12 weeks, so not too long to wait, and will be consultant led due to other problems, so glad to know that finally! Otherwise no bloods etc, that all happens arpund the scan, so it was more of a chat and a "your ds is cute"

Hermya321 · 10/03/2010 18:24

Nymph I hope all is well, I've been told that re cycles to be honest. Apparently you can bleed a little as well, stupid hormones. Are you feeling better now? Do you need the EPU no?

Seashells Gosh thats really bad, I can't beleive care is so different up and down the country.

Regarding a witty title, I think one is seriously needed, everybody else has one.

Although at the mo my wittiness has sadly departed me.

MummyWilliams · 10/03/2010 18:28

nattiecake phone the hospital outpatient appointments department and see if they can give you the date over the telephone. Thats what I would do. Say you think the letter may have gone missing in the post or something coz you shouldv'e received it by now. They would just need your name, dob and possibly your address. I have done this before at my hospital (not for a scan date, but for another appointment). It does work. Give it a go. Hope this helps.

xxx

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 10/03/2010 18:44

Nymph Go to A&E in the morning and they can send you for a scan straight away if you are still worried. Hopefully it's just stretching pains.

MummyLovesSadie Your DD is gorgeous. you look very glam for being heavily pg in Aug. I looked like a whale. My ankles were the same size as my thighs and i remember it wasn't even that hot that year

Welcome all newbies. I think we're going to have a pile up of babies on the 1st. Going to change my name on the list.

Got more medication this week as still throwing up everywhere. Survivng on Texas BBQ Pringles and Ginger Beer at the mo. Can't face anything else.

Have 1st midwife app next tues and scan next fri. Can't wait

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 10/03/2010 18:46

How about something like October 2010 - Feeling fruity or more of a Ginger nut?

It's ok you can say bog off it's rubbish. I won't get all hormonal and cry

Nymphadora · 10/03/2010 18:46

Hermyaepu is too far away from me if u went where I think you did.(c?) it's the only one I have found for the county. But thanks

nattie chase the hospital you need to know!

Am back in bed cos am aching again no stabbing . Feeling v bloated tonight too so it could be digestive?

SamanthaB123 · 10/03/2010 19:05

Hi all,

Nymph I really hope that you are ok, I would just go to A & E or pay to be scanned. Hopefully by taking it easy it will settle down - you haven't had any bleeding have you? I think that pain and bleeding together are more of a concern. Is there a deadline for the discovery of an ectopic? Surely by a certain number of weeks you must be in the clear for an ectopic?

I haven't posted for ages although I read everyone else's every day . I'm either too sick or too tired to do anything at all really. I'm never actually sick, I just feel like it all the time. All the time. Day and night . And the exhaustion is something else.

I went to the midwife for my booking in today. A good hour and a half appointment. She was lovely and very good. I was a bit disappointed that I will hardly see her - third baby, not considered a risk...8 weeks, 16 weeks, 24 weeks, 32 weeks, 36 weeks and 38 weeks. And that's it. Scans at 12 weeks and 20 weeks. I already have the date for the 20 week one but not the 12 week (don't ask - they are done at different hospitals for some reason).

It was good to talk freely about it and it felt nice and real. She said that the further along I get the lower and lower the risk of mc. To have reached 8 weeks and still be this unwell is apparantly a very good sign. She said if my symptoms miraculously stopped before 12 weeks then I should worry and contact her. I didn't know any of this, but if you have a mmc the pregnancy symtpoms fade very quickly.

Anyway, hope all well and feeling a bit better than I am! SB

Nymphadora · 10/03/2010 19:51

samantha hi glad everything is going well! I was feeling like that about 8 weeks it's so much safer! It's usually 5-8 weeks for ectopic (according to google ) so I am at the end.

This thread is so huge now it takesages to load on my phone!
